The last time Genesis keyboard player extraordinaire Tony Banks came on the show was a few years ago, and we discussed a box set of his solo albums. Since then there has been a final Genesis tour, “The Last Domino?”, which I got to see the opening and closing nights of, and Tony now has a new boxset compiling his three classical albums “7”, “6”, and “5”. The first half of the interview we take a deep dive into that process which I hope you'll find interesting. Creating classical music isn't something we've really explored on the podcast before. In the second half of the interview Tony shares details of an upcoming boxset of “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway”, and he also confirms details of a reissue of their 60's debut album “From Genesis To Revelation”, which in the past has been ignored from official Genesis reissue campaigns. We talk about how he feels he is perceived by Genesis fans, and whether he's tempted to emulate the very successful touring approach of former Genesis bandmate Steve Hackett, who incidentally he also clarifies his feeling about during our chat. I think this conversation is quite something. Hope you enjoy. Let me know what you think. Instagram: @sendingsignalspodcastX: @signalspodcast

I'm on with Grumpy Acres Farm in today's show to discuss the prepper/homesteader spectrum and how we all fit into it. While some have no desire or ability to become a homesteader, the longer you prepare, the closer you get to the Homesteading or Prepsteading end of the spectrum. It all depends on how far you want or can take it. We'll also discuss how bartering & trading are affected by where we are on the prepping spectrum and how much effort we've put into building a community and support structure. When it comes to bartering, we think about Bic lighters and batteries. While this may be necessary in a full-blown SHTF situation, having goods and skills to trade with the neighbors will be helpful in many different crises.

John, Renaldo and Ricardo discuss NFL free agency…and by that we just mean quarterback movement. The only thing more surprising than Brady returning after a two month retirement is Mitch Trubisky getting a starting job.
Genesis sind echte Progressive-Rock-Pioniere. Die britische Band entwickelte und kultivierte dieses Genre ab Mitte der 60er Jahre nicht nur, sie wurde zum Vorbild für nachfolgende Musiker-Generationen. Ihre Album-Klassikern heißen u.a. „Trespass“, „The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway“ „ebenso „Abacab“, „Invisible Touch“ und „We Can't Dance“. Die große Frage momentan: Ist die laufende „The Last Domino?“-Tour, benannt nach einem Genesis-Song und versehen mit einem dicken Fragezeichen: der Abschied nach 57 Bandjahren? Das ist ein Thema, vor allem aber geht um einen DER Genesis-Klassiker: „Land Of Confusion!“ Reinhorchen unbedingt erwünscht!

Tara and her co-host Adam are two of the new podcasters who will be bringing their show to the Rat Salad Review Network in 2022. We are beyond happy to have them aboard to discuss their love for cheesy movies of the 1980s. On this episode, Tara and I discuss our ten favorite Genesis songs. Also, 5 supporters of the Music Is Life Podcast contribute their top 10 songs as well. Genesis is one of the preeminent progressive rock bands of the late 60s that catapulted to superstardom. By the time Invisible Touch was released in 1986, they were selling out stadiums all around the world. Take into account that all members of the classic lineup had solo success, they're one of the few where each individual member earned recognition for their output. Genesis is currently on tour for their Last Domino tour with Messers Collins, Banks and Rutherford. Steve Hackett will return to touring in 2022. Regardless of which band member you are seeing live, it is always quality music you will be getting. Thank you, Genesis, for 50+ years of quality music.
I'm changing things up a little for this episode as instead of discussing a new or classic album, I enlisted Matt Wardlaw from Ultimate Classic Rock to compare notes on our recent experiences seeing Genesis on The Last Domino? Tour. Genesis is my all-time favorite band, so there was never a question of whether I was going to see them, so much as a question of where and how often. Matt and I saw them about a week apart in different cities but in similarly located seats. We broke down the setlist, the performance, our Genesis origin stories, and more. I hope you enjoy this special Michael's Concert Ticket Collection episode! Big thanks to Matt for his time. You can follow Matt on Twitter at @MattWardlaw or find his work at UltimateClassicRock.com. We thought we'd follow up last week's lengthy labyrinth of an episode on the events of November 22, 1963 with a more quiet and graceful remembrance of the same day and its lasting after effects with 2016's Jackie. But before we take yet another stroll down the American Century's middle period...this week's Blue Plate Special finds us discussing our recent experience seeing legendary rock band Genesis early on their ongoing The Last Domino? tour before transitioning to some thoughts on Wes Anderson's latest The French Dispatch. The film of the week inevitably sparks a discussion on recent trends in biopics and period films over the past decade and how exactly Natalie Portman's brilliant performance and Larrain's icily precise direction at once subvert and compliment the very sort of myth making historical fictions have been forging for centuries.
