HANTAVIRUS CASE REPORTED IN SWITZERLAND.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE-----  -International Events-Global: The Hantavirus crisis continues onboard the M/V HONDIUS. This morning, Switzerland reported that they were treating a man who had contracted Hantavirus by being a passenger on the ship, marking the first case reported outside the containment zone on the vessel. One British citizen is currently being treated in South Africa after being evacuated from the vessel, and so far a total of three passengers have died from the virus, with a total of eight people being reported infected at this time. So far, human-to-human transmission cases have reportedly taken place onboard the vessel, and passengers who have previously been on the vessel are in the process of being contacted. The World Health Organization has stated that one of the confirmed cases traveled on a commercial flight while infected, and three individuals who have tested positive for the virus have been evacuated from the HONDIUS and are inbound to the Netherlands for treatment.Middle East: This morning the United States engaged a merchant vessel attempting to break through the American blockade in the vicinity of the Gulf of Oman. The US Navy disabled the vessel with an F/A-18 gun run targeting the ship's rudder, which resulted in the vessel halting it's progress toward Iran. CENTCOM did not convey the current status of the vessel, or the status of the crew.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - The full criminal complaint regarding yesterday's shooting on the National Mall has been released, which provides a more clear picture of what happened. The suspect has been identified as Michael Marx, and the initial details of the incident were correct as initially reported; an undercover USSS agent saw the suspect printing a firearm in his waistband and requested a uniformed officer to make contact. As soon as the uniformed officer arrived, the suspect ran, drawing his firearm and shooting at the officer while attempting to evade. Agents returned fire on the suspect, wounding him, and during his subsequent apprehension, authorities learned that he was known by two other aliases, Patrick Michael and Michael Zavici. Court docs also state that he verbally expressed negative sentiment toward the White House, and that he had previous criminal history involving drug trafficking.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: In the Middle East, Project Freedom has come to a halt just as quickly as it arrived, with President Trump stating in a Truth Social post that the operation will be "paused for a short period of time". This halt to the operation is allegedly being conducted for the purposes of a peace agreement being signed sometime today. If this is true, time will tell. However rhetoric is flying all around, and the halt to this operation coinciding with a strange report from the UKMTO, indicates that something else is going on.Yesterday evening another commercial vessel was struck in the Strait of Hormuz, though the UKMTO did not indicate whether or not this was a new vessel attempting to sneak through, or if this was a part of the initial handful of vessels that attempted to make the crossing as part of Project Freedom. Since this strike, no other targeting efforts have been undertaken by the Iranians for the past 15 hours. However, the interesting part is the report itself.For the first time, the UKMTO did not disclose the general location of this specific strike, and instead published a blank map of the Strait. CMA CGM, the major shipping group, claimed that the ship was theirs, and identified the vessel as the M/V SAN ANTONIO. Failing to disclose exactly where the ship was struck is an interesting detail

PROJECT FREEDOM OPERATION IN HORMUZ REMAINS INTENSE AS A MASS CONVOY OF CIVILIAN SHIPS STAGES TO TRANSIT STRAIT OF HORMUZ. MASS SHOOTING REPORTED IN TEXAS.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE-----  -International Events-Middle East: Significant events continue to take place in the Strait of Hormuz, with the United States expanding efforts to force the Strait open to civilian traffic. Last night, two Destroyers, the USS TRUXTON (DDG-103) and the USS MASON (DDG-87) crossed the Strait under heavy fire by the Iranians. Similarly, a KC-135 refueling tanker was observed conducting refueling operations for aircraft supporting Project Freedom throughout the night. At some point, the KC-135 declared an emergency and broke station, though the context of this situation remains unclear.-HomeFront-Washington D.C. - Yesterday afternoon, a shooting was reported in the vicinity of 15th Street and Independence Avenue. The suspect was originally identified by plain-clothes officers who saw the suspect's concealed firearm printing through his clothing. The USSS attempted to engage with the suspect, and during that approach the suspect drew his firearm and began firing at federal agents. USSS personnel returned fire, wounding the suspect. One bystander was wounded by the suspect during the engagement, though they sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Analyst Comment: The suspect has not been identified, and no further details of the suspect's intent have been provided. The USSS did make a note that the Vice President's motorcade passed through that intersection just a few minutes beforehand, and no mention was made of the suspect conducting an attack on the motorcade (despite initial reports). As a result, it's not clear as to if this was a routine crime/gang situation, or a more deliberate targeting effort. More details may come in due time, but as of now there is not enough context to determine what the intent of the engagement was.Texas: This afternoon a mass shooting was reported at a shopping center in the Carrollton Koreatown. Multiple people were wounded at the K Towne Plaza after one assailant conducted a small arms attack at a business center within the shopping center. Concerning casualties, 2x people were killed and 3x people were wounded during the attack, with the suspect fleeing on foot before being apprehended in the shopping center. The suspect has been identified as Seung Han Ho, and no information has been provided regarding a potential motive for the attack.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: As of this morning, the situation in the Middle East is still very fluid, but based on the events of the past 48 hours, a resumption of the shooting-phase of the war is increasingly more likely. In the Persian Gulf, the sudden disappearance of hundreds of vessels (or their "convergence" on one single point) on tracking maps is a classic case of both GPS jamming and AIS spoofing. Though many commentators have been hesitant to report the truth of what this is an indicator of (for OPSEC reasons), this professional courtesy is a moot point now, because SECWAR Hegseth let the cat out of the bag during a press conference this morning.When the spoofing first began en masse over such a large area late last night, this was a flashing neon sign indicating exactly one course of action...a mass convoy to surge ships out of the Gulf. This morning the Pentagon confirmed that hundreds of ships are staging in the Persian Gulf right now, with the goal of conducting a surge through the Strait. Considering the very kinetic entrance to the Gulf that was conducted by two American Destroyers, it's absolutely certain that many commercial vessels will be struck and/or sunk during this operation, but this appears t

The federal government is on the hunt for financial system fraudsters. RYAN ROUTH FOUND GUILTY ON ALL COUNTS.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Europe: The drone shenanigans continued throughout much of the night in Copenhagen, with footage from eyewitnesses indicating that the aircraft that were observed were much larger than the standard quadcopters that are usually the culprits regarding airspace violations.Analyst Comment: So far there has been no indication of what this situation was all about, but the aircraft were fairly heavily documented. The aerial platforms weren't exactly operating covertly, but they did leave on their own. Considering the overall tensions in Europe, most speculation has pointed to these being Russian drones, or if not Russian in origin, something to do with the war. Either way, there's no way to know for sure at the moment.-HomeFront-Florida: This afternoon, Ryan Routh, the second would-be Trump assassin was found guilty on all counts pertaining to the attempted shooting at the Trump International Golf Club in September of last year. Upon the verdict being announced Routh attempted to stab himself with a pen, unsuccessfully trying to injure himself. Routh was briefly removed from the courtroom, after this incident, before being returned to conclude the trial.Analyst Comment: As a reminder, Routh chose (and was allowed) to represent himself after he felt discrepancies with his court-appointed team of attorneys, and thus was granted more leeway during this trial. Considering that he had written a note confessing to the crime in explicit detail, his arguments were unsuccessful, leading to his conviction on all counts.New York: Yesterday evening the US Secret Service announced the dismantling of a major telecommunications threat allegedly targeting the UN General Assembly currently underway in New York City. The USSS uncovered a series of locations concentrated around the UN building, which were configured to degrade communications around the city, mostly in the form of hundreds of SIM servers and around 100,000 SIM cards.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: At face value, these locations appear to be configured to swamp cell towers with increased traffic, so as to degrade cellular networks. As to why this attack vector was chosen, it's anyone's guess. Normally, attacks that are meant to degrade (but not exploit) a certain communications method are used as a way of social engineering...if a target's cell phone doesn't work, they might be inclined to use a different comms method that is more easily surveilled. Though this is pure speculation, what is very clear is that there is a very high likelihood that the UN General Assembly would be a target for many different malign actors, to include nationstate-level intelligence operations. There are many different ways to target a meeting of world leaders that is vastly easier than strategically renting apartments around the city, to fill with a bunch of electronic hardware. In their press release on the operation, the USSS did not comment on what exactly these sites were being used for; their statements were more generalized, and that these locations could be used for a wide range of attacks and surveillance operations. Doesn't fire it, just draws it. ·      Connie Albus asks:  A husband and wife are found dead, both with bullet wounds but the coroner is not sure if the husband murdered his wife then committed suicide due to the angle of the bullet wounds on him, or if it was a double murder.  On the coroner's report would it show hers as "homicide" and his as "homicide/suicide"?  or other wording?  Thanks for the help.  (story takes place in the USA) _(added the remains were found in a burned building). Rich Rybicki and Scott Morales did a great job answering and I added that we never assume anything, it's a double homicide until it isn't. The totality of the circumstances comes into play here. Were there any 911/DV calls at the address? Did they find a gun, if so, where was it? Is there a motive, such as an impending divorce or other problems? Any history of calls of one of them having a mental illness crisis? Was there a note? There was a fire, so that might be tricky. Witness statements or video? ·      Allison Holland-Ray asks: In modern times, Portland, Maine, I have a suspect who's pointing his gun at two bystanders, while three officers all point their weapons at him. What is the protocol for getting him to drop his weapon? SYRIAN REBELS CAPTURE HAMA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE------International Events-Syria: On the southern front, rebel forces have taken the city of Hama, and have begun the southern push toward Homs. On the eastern front HTS has made a rapid advance to the Upper Euphrates River Valley, reaching Lake Assad overnight.AC: HTS and other rebel forces have been able to take significant ground, while the Syrian Army has largely ceded most of their terrain to the rebel advance. In most areas, HTS has encountered little resistance from the Syrian Army. Russian forces have offered up varying levels of resistance to HTS operations, with some reports claiming significant Russian retaliatory bombings (such as in Aleppo), but other reports indicating Russian forces largely withdrawing without a shot being fired. At the moment, the Russian naval base of Tartus is very much in danger of being cut-off from Damascus by land.France: Following a vote of no-confidence yesterday, Prime Minister Michel Barnier has been ousted from his position. As of this morning, PM Barnier became the shortest-serving PM in French history by resigning his post which he was appointed to only in September. AC: To highlight Barnier's unpopularity, both the far-left and far-right factions in government united to oust him for their disapproval of his handling of the budget, making his removal the only successful no-confidence vote in France since 1962. -HomeFront-California: This afternoon a Tsunami Warning was issued for the coast of northern California due to a 7.3 magnitude earthquake that struck the region. In response to the tsunami threat, the mass evacuation of millions of people was ordered, with limited success. After some time, the Warning was canceled, with no tsunami being reported due to the earthquake. AC: Considering the sheer number of people that live directly within the high-tsunami-risk areas in California, the chances of a mass evacuation being successful in the little time allotted were always minimal. However the attempt was made, and mass traffic gridlock was reported before the Tsunami Warning was cancelled.Washington D.C. – During ongoing investigations into the incidents surrounding the inadequacies of the US Secret Service to protect Donald Trump, Director Ronald Rowe appeared to have a psychological episode during his testimony before Congress. While being questioned by Congressman Pat Fallon, a shouting match erupted between Congressman Fallon and Director Rowe, which began rather suddenly without much warning. As Congressman Fallon was asking Rowe about a photograph of Rowe which was taken at a 9/11 memorial (where Rowe was on-the-job in an official USSS capacity on protective detail), Rowe began rambling about his role in the actual 9/11 attack itself, which immediately devolved into a shouting match between himself and the Congressman.AC: Shouting at an elected official who represents the people who sign one's paycheck demonstrates a rather interesting perspective of job security. Regardless of political party, Director Rowe, was not shouting at a suit in Washington…he was shouting at the American taxpayer who demands accountability. Either way, this incident is yet another in a long list of indications of what the American political system has become, and also demonstrates the very serious problems within the agency.
