What a Sunday of Premier League football. Aaron Paul is joined by former Southampton defender Francis Benali, Aston Villa defender and Scotland captain Rachel Corsie and Luke Edwards of The Daily Telegraph to go through some huge results at both ends of the table. Newcastle moved into the Champions League places after winning at Tottenham. Hear from Eddie Howe as the panel discuss how several players look reborn under the Newcastle boss. Could Callum Wilson be making a late charge to be on the plane to Qatar? Arsenal dropped points for only the second time this season as Southampton held Mikel Arteta's side at St Mary's. Does that ease the pressure on Ralph Hasenhuttl? At the bottom end of the table, Aston Villa ran rampant with a 4-0 win over Brentford. Three goals in 15minutes was a huge statement after the sacking of Steven Gerrard this week. Brentford meanwhile, were 'shambolic' according to their striker Ivan Toney. The pressure continues to build on Jesse Marsch as Leeds lost 2-3 to Fulham at Elland Road. We ask if the Leeds boss could be the next victim of 'sacking season'. But, one man who looks to have eased the pressure on himself is Brendan Rodgers, winning by four goals at Molineux. However, what next for Wolves? One member of the panel predicts there is no way back for them. TOPICS 1'00 Eddie Howe interview 5'00 Was it a foul? (Firstly, apologies for the audio quality, Jack's gone AWOL to Sicily and tried to continue with the day job) Managerial careers are a bloodbath. You can win a Champions League these days and be out of a job 15 months later, so it feels like anyone is fair game really. It's not pretty, it's probably not right, but it's just how it is in the cut-throat world of elite-level football, so we take a look at the heads who might be under the cosh already. Max Allegri of Juventus, Brendan Rodgers of Leicester City, Steve Cooper of Nottingham Forest, Gerard Seoane of Bayer Leverkusen, Steven Gerrard of Aston Villa, Julen Lopetegui of Sevilla and Simone Inzaghi of Inter all come under the microscope (in one way or another) all come under our microscope as we look at the gaffers under pressure at this stage of the season. There's also Things We Love, which includes a straight-up worship period for what Erling Haaland is doing to the Premier League in his first eight games; some love for the brothers of the moment at Athletic as Iñaki and Nico Williams assist each other; and Jack going off on one about Casa Pia in the Primeira, who sit fourth after the first eight games of the Primeira season. And Melon of the Week takes a personal turn for Dean, whilst Sam's Gibberish Rankings are the most self-indulgent they've ever been. It's Ranks! Learn more about your ad choices. Ross Caputi and Scott Spaulding join us to discuss The Sacking of Fallujah, both the event and the book which Ross co-wrote. Fallujah is seen by the American empire as a great victory over the burgeoning Sunni insurgency during the early years of Operation Iraqi Freedom, but for the people of Fallujah and their descendants, it is nothing less than the entire destruction and poisoning of their people and land. Birth defects are rampant among the population, spurred by the use of heavy munitions like white phosphorus, depleted uranium, and thermobariacs, which have destroyed the environment for generations. Ross' book, The Sacking of Fallujah: A People's History (Culture and Politics in the Cold War and Beyond), is a great primer on the subject, as well as a detailed microcosm of the war in Iraq and its tactics.
