"Mighty To Save" Easter Cantata sung by Cedar Bluff Baptist Church and sermon by Justin Hall from Luke 23:33-46.
Audio Bible Old Testament Ecclesiastes to Malachi, King James Version
église AB Lausanne ; KJV Isaiah 63 Who is this that cometh from Edom, with dyed garments from Bozrah? this that is glorious in his apparel, travelling in the greatness of his strength? I that speak in righteousness, mighty to save. Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel, and thy garments like him that treadeth in the winefat? I have trodden the winepress alone; and of the people there was none with me: for I will tread them in mine anger, and trample them in my fury; and their blood shall be sprinkled upon my garments, and I will stain all my raiment. For the day of vengeance is in mine heart, and the year of my redeemed is come. And I looked, and there was none to help; and I wondered that there was none to uphold: therefore mine own arm brought salvation unto me; and my fury, it upheld me. And I will tread down the people in mine anger, and make them drunk in my fury, and I will bring down their strength to the earth. I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses. For he said, Surely they are my people, children that will not lie: so he was their Saviour. In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them: in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; and he bare them, and carried them all the days of old. But they rebelled, and vexed his holy Spirit: therefore he was turned to be their enemy, and he fought against them. ...
Andy shares how the love of God is unconditional. Even if we turn our backs on him or have never turned to him in the first place, he will never stop loving us. This is the Good News, that even while we still were sinners, Jesus died for us so that we might live through Him. Today's Music: Child of Love, Mighty To Save, I Speak Jesus, Abide, and Goodness Of God (special by Wes German)

We come to 1 Samuel 14 were God raises up Jonathan to deliver Israel from a crushing defeat at the hand of Philistia. We see how Jonathan's understanding of who God is compels him forward to action and dependence. As a result the nation is saved and people's eye turned again to the Lord.
Mark highlights the humiliation of Christ--1. Because it truly happened-2. Because it exhibits the evil of the world-3. Because it reveals Christ's true glory

How do you position yourself to see God do the impossible? You see Jesus' invitation to be a part of it as irresistible. THE SAMARITAN WOMAN In John 4:3-7, Jesus sat beside Jacob's well, tired and thirsty. He asked the woman, “Will you please give me a drink?” Jesus' invitation to engage in a conversation with the Samaritan would have gone against cultural norms. However, He saw an opportunity. He extended an irresistible invitation to engage in conversation. After He spoke more with her, she came to believe He was the Messiah! Once again, we see Jesus' invitation do the impossible… turn the heart of a broken woman into one that believed and received Him as the Savior of the world! Remember Zephaniah 3:17, “For the Lord your God is living among you and He is MIGHTY TO SAVE...” Whenever we're willing to embrace the uncomfortable, we position ourselves to see God do the impossible. Join Abundant Life and be comforted and inspired in uncomfortable situations. You will be surprised how God will use you in them to further His kingdom. Have you ever needed to be rescued? We are continuing our sermon series called "Focal Point" where we are looking at the grand story of what God is doing throughout Scripture. We are looking at Exodus chapters 1 to 18 where God powerfully rescues his people from their slavery in Egypt. In a sermon called "Our God is Mighty to Save" we see how God's powerful work in rescuing his people from Egypt is a foretaste of the greater rescue he powerfully works through Jesus Christ.
