Rudyard and Janice unpack the leaked 28-point draft peace plan for Ukraine negotiated between US special envoy Steve Witkoff and Russian counterpart Kirill Dmitriev. The deal requires Ukraine to give up the remainder of the Donbas region in exchange for a security guarantee from Europe and the US, yet puts the pathway to NATO membership for Ukraine put on hold. What happens if Zelensky, who is already unpopular and facing deep divisions at home, accepts this deal? Does he have room to negotiate? Meanwhile, the rest of Europe is watching closely and preparing for war. Do the Baltic and eastern European states have reason to be concerned? Is European deterrence a failure? And what role can and will NATO play in pushing back against Russian aggression?

Something in me snapped today, and I don't mean as in ‘going postal', but something deep within me snapped to attention with the crystal clarity made possible by the ‘sound mind' promised to all born again believers. For months now, we've been watching nearly the entire online world casting their judgment on God's chosen people, the Jews, and His holy land of Israel, as if their opinions carried any weight at all. They don't. The Bible tells us exactly what shall befall the Jews, and you and I, in these last days. The Last Trump.“In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.” 1 Corinthians 15:52 (KJB)On this episode of Rightly Dividing, we saw something stunning, and yes, even shocking take place yesterday, and yet it went unnoticed by 90% of all Christians living anywhere in the world. We watched as the leader of the free world, President Donald Trump, was handed complete power by a 13-0 unanimous vote at the UN Security Council, to create his ‘Board of Peace' and take total control of Gaza. The very same Gaza that God gave to Abraham and the children of Israel in the Genesis 15 land grant. That was yesterday. Today Trump gave a royal welcome to Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the White House where they talked about, among other things, the Abraham Accords, the Two-State Solution and what's going to happen to Gaza. If all that doesn't snap you to attention, you're spiritually in a coma, and it's time to wake up. Take off your shoes tonight, Christian, because on this Bible study, ready or not, we're going to go walking on holy ground.

Is it a good idea to give firearms training to government workers? What does this say about how unprepared and unserious we are about protecting our borders? And is there a case to be made that now is the right time to introduce mandatory national service in Canada? In the second half of the show Rudyard and Janice turn to the Epstein files and a release of documents with new revelations about the close connection between Epstein and President Trump. The documents also surfaced other prominent names including Peter Mendelson and Larry Summers. Why do these powerful and influential people think the rules don't apply to them? Will the revelations about Trump's closeness to Epstein loosen his iron grip over the Republican Party? And finally, should the President's downward trajectory and low favourability influence how we in Canada engage in trade negotiations with the U.S.? How did this young and inexperienced politician build such a broad coalition? What is the message we should take away from his big win? Janice argues that this race is not the only one that matters; Democratic wins in Virginia and New Jersey with more moderate candidates offer an important lesson that in order to win you need a big tent with a wide variety of voices. What role did technology play in these elections, and should we be worried about how it is affecting the democratic process? Rudyard and Janice then turn to the US government shutdown which is being weaponized by both parties. Unfortunately neither side will negotiate without concessions and the public is being held hostage. In the remaining moments Rudyard and Janice offer their analysis of Mark Carney's first federal budget as Prime Minister. Both agree that the budget did not live up to expectations; the government needed to make some big cuts and ask Canadians to sacrifice to get our economy back on track. As Janice puts it, the biggest problem we have in this country is we think being nice is the most important value. It's not. Josh has argued many times that the establishment of another state between the Jordan River and Mediterranean Sea would be an existential threat to the state of Israel.

Rudyard and Janice preview our upcoming 2025 autumn mainstage Munk Debate on the Two-State Solution taking place on December 3rd in Toronto. What can we expect from the team of Ehud Olmert and Tzipi Livni, who believe Israel's future depends on pursuing two states for two peoples? Can the team of Ayelet Shaked and Micheal Oren make a compelling case that it is in Israel's best interest not to pursue this path? Rudyard explains how and why we landed on this debate and these speakers. In the second half of the show Rudyard and Janice turn to Chinese-American relations following Trump's trade meeting this week with Xi Jinping. The US backed down on a range of tariff threats and most importantly on high tech exports to China. Why did Trump agree to this? There is a codependency between these two superpowers that will only break when either China is able to manufacture advanced AI chips or the US breaks China's monopoly on critical rare earth minerals. Does Trump have the patience and resolve to stay the course? And how should Canada pursue its own trade relationship with China in order to protect our interests and specifically the struggling auto sector? For decades, the United States backed efforts to achieve a two-state solution—in which Israel would exist side by side with the Palestinian state, with both states recognizing each other's claim to contested territory. The veteran negotiators Hussein Agha, representing Palestine, and Robert Malley, an American diplomat, played instrumental roles in that long effort, including the critical Camp David summit of 2000. But, in their new book, “Tomorrow Is Yesterday,” they conclude that they were part of a charade. There was never any way that a two-state solution could satisfy either of the parties, Agha and Malley tell The New Yorker Radio Hour's David Remnick in an interview. “A waste of time is almost a charitable way to look at it,” Malley notes bitterly. “At the end of that thirty-year-or-so period, the Israelis and Palestinians are in a worse situation than before the U.S. got so heavily invested.” The process, appealing to Western leaders and liberals in Israel, was geared to “find the kind of solutions that have a technical outcome, that are measurable, and that can be portrayed by lines on maps,” Agha says. “It completely discarded the issue of emotions and history. You can't be emotional. You have to be rational. You have to be cool. But rational and cool has nothing to do with the conflict.” On the Media is supported by listeners like you. In this episode, Pulitzer Prize-winning historian and author Kai Bird says Robert Ames had a vision for Palestinian self-determination. Ronald Reagan saw an opportunity to realize it, even as invasion, war, and terrorism swallowed Lebanon in 1982-83. This week we have a very special guest: Robert Malley, a veteran American diplomat and Middle East expert. From advising President Clinton at Camp David to serving as President Obama's top White House official for the Middle East and then as Biden's Special Envoy for Iran, Malley has spent decades at the heart of U.S. diplomacy. Today he joins Shadi Hamid and Damir Marusic to discuss his new book, Tomorrow Is Yesterday: Life, Death, and the Pursuit of Peace in Israel/Palestine.Malley begins the discussion with an arresting suggestion: that the war in Gaza has brought Palestinians and Israelis back to where they were before 1948 — before the twentieth century, even. Looking back at the Oslo Peace Process, Malley argues that liberal peacemaking was too dismissive of those who are motivated by history or faith. Yet it is precisely those attachments — Zionism's pull toward Eretz Yisrael, the Palestinian longing for the right of return — that define the conflict's soul. Any peace plan has to take these deep yearnings into account from the get-go.Shadi insists that resilience itself has become the Palestinians' act of resistance. Their struggle, refracted now through moral discourse and digital mediation, animates the conscience of a younger America. He predicts that one day this generation will alter U.S. policy in a way that may make peace truly possible — by putting significant pressure on Israel to make concessions it has rarely been willing to make. Malley wonders how one persuades a people that their yearning is wrong; Shadi replies that after genocide, there is no moral equivalency between the competing narratives. And Damir reminds everyone that peace without victory is only surrender.Given its timeliness — Israel and Hamas are currently deciding whether to adopt Trump's Gaza peace plan — we are making the episode free for all subscribers. In this episode, we are joined by Elina Xenophontos as we center Palestine while unpacking a rapidly shifting global landscape. From the UN's new “Two State Solution” resolution to Israel's expanding regional ambitions in Syria, Cyprus, and beyond, the conversation dives into how imperial powers continue to use war and crisis as tools for control. We look closely at the concept of disaster capitalism—first outlined by Naomi Klein in The Shock Doctrine—and how Gaza risks becoming the latest case study, following Iraq, Afghanistan, and Lebanon. Political elites and international institutions routinely exploit chaos, stripping local communities of sovereignty, resources, and the ability to chart their own futures. At the same time, Washington is floating reckless military objectives: threatening Venezuela over oil and rare earths, retaking Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan to pressure China, and destabilizing Pakistan under the guise of nuclear containment.Meanwhile, Israel appears to be preparing for a long struggle against Turkish interests in West Asia, while U.S. allies like Argentina's President Javier Milei remain entangled in IMF debt and neoliberal experiments. This episode connects the dots between Palestine, imperial strategy, and the global machinery of resource extraction. If you want to understand how “humanitarian aid” and “reconstruction” are often code words for privatization, dispossession, and permanent war economies, you won't want to miss this. You can follow Elina here: https://www.instagram.com/elina.xenophontos/

You can't be emotional. You have to be rational. You have to be cool.
