Are flip‑flops appropriate for the office, what really counts as the coolest cars ever made, and is Apple's upgrade programme a smart way to get your next iPhone? In this episode of Tailoring Talk Magazine, Roberto Revilla and Jon Evans test a new three‑hub format built for audio listeners. In The Fitting Room, Roberto, a bespoke tailor at Roberto Revilla London, reacts to recent style articles claiming that men who wear shorts to the office can still be considered well dressed – and that flip‑flops are now acceptable in corporate work environments. He explains why he strongly disagrees, what good office dressing actually looks like, and why respect for your colleagues, clients and role matters more than chasing trends. In The Lab, they move into tech to talk about Apple's iPhone upgrade and finance options, including the newer UK upgrade programme and Flexible Finance Account that replace the old iPhone Upgrade Programme. They unpack who these subscription‑style deals are really for, how they can lock you deeper into the Apple ecosystem, and whether you're better off buying outright or committing to a long‑term plan.In The Garage, the conversation turns to TopGear's “208 Coolest Cars Ever Made” list. Jon shares memories of growing up around prestige cars, Roberto talks about the ones he's owned and loved, and together they pick out stand‑out entries and ask what truly makes a car “cool” beyond price or badge. This is a pilot for a regular magazine‑style audio format on Tailoring Talk, blending office style, Apple tech and motoring into one show. Some listeners will be here for the dress code debate, some for the iPhone finance talk, and some for the TopGear car nostalgia – and that's exactly how this episode is designed to work.If you enjoy this structure, please follow Tailoring Talk Magazine in your podcast app, rate the show and leave a quick review telling us which segment you liked most and what you'd like us to go deeper on next time. For all your bespoke tailoring needs – from office suits to summer trousers that keep you cool without resorting to shorts – visit Roberto Revilla London at robertorevillalondon.comTimestamps (use these to go direct to your preferred section of the show!):00:00 – Welcome back & new three‑hub format (Fitting Room, Lab, Garage)01:00 – The Fitting Room: Office shorts, flip‑flops and respecting dress codes22:00 – The Lab: Apple iPhone upgrade, Flexible Finance Account and subscription tech38:40 – The Garage: TopGear's 208 coolest cars ever made and our favourites55:00 – Thank you, feedback on the format & outroKey themes this episode:•flip‑flops appropriate for the office•office dress code•shorts in the office•mens office style•workplace fashion•bespoke tailoring•Apple upgrade programme•iPhone Upgrade Programme UK•Apple Flexible Finance Account•tech podcast•iPhone finance•coolest cars•TopGear coolest cars ever made•motoring podcast•UK podcast Hosted on Acast. Millions of people suffer with foot trouble. Some have heel pain when they first get out of bed. Others complain of flat feet or bunions. Athlete's foot is very common, though it doesn't always respond as expected to antifungal medications. Speaking of fungus, toenail fungus can be extremely stubborn. What are your feet trying to tell you about what they need? How can you keep them healthy, especially in the summertime? At The People's Pharmacy, we strive to bring you up to date, rigorously researched insights and conversations about health, medicine, wellness and health policies and health systems. While these conversations intend to offer insight and perspective, the content is provided solely for informational and educational purposes. Please consult your healthcare provider before making any changes to your medical care or treatment. What Are Your Feet Trying to Tell You? Most everyone looks forward to summer vacation, but that special time away from the usual routine may pose challenges for your feet. Whether you are hiking in the mountains or running on the beach, you may need to pay attention to your tootsies. Time at the Beach Beach time can inspire long walks on the sand, but soft sand could really put a strain on foot muscles that aren't accustomed to it. Our expert guest, podiatrist Jane Andersen DPM, recommends wearing good running shoes for walking long distances on sand. Choosing to walk where the sand is hard-packed when the tide is low can also be helpful. Possibly the most important but easily overlooked step to protect feet at the beach is to apply sunscreen. The tops of the feet are easily overlooked, but they can burn pretty readily. And if you are planning to spend time sunbathing prone, you might even want to apply sunscreen to the bottoms of your feet. They never see the sun, and walking on sunburned soles could be quite painful. Protecting Bare Feet Another consideration at the beach is how you will get from the parking lot or boardwalk to the water. How hot is the sand? If it is hot enough to burn the soles of your feet, you might consider using water sandals. In general, going barefoot can be risky. Whether you're at the beach, at a campground, in your own backyard or even inside your home, there are potential hazards underfoot. Bits of glass shards, little pieces of wire, tiny pebbles or nails could all cause havoc if they end up embedded in a sole. Protecting your soles by wearing good flip-flops makes a lot of sense. To find a list of flip-flops that provide appropriate arch support as well as sole protection, consult apma.org. Treating Black Toenails During this episode, Joe describes a trip to the beach with a long walk. By the time he removed his shoes, his longest toe had a black toenail that was rather painful. Although the pain faded before too long, it took about a year for the dark color to disappear from the nail. Dr. Andersen suggests that it often takes at least nine months to regrow a toenail. She emphasizes that if the nail turns black due to sudden trauma (like dropping something heavy on the toe), a podiatrist should check it out. Sometimes there is a fracture under that discolored nail that requires medical attention for proper healing. What Is the Story on Flat Feet? Joe has always had flat feet. Perhaps your feet are flat, too. The condition is pretty common. If Joe gets out of a bathtub or swimming pool and leaves footprints, they are almost oval. There is very little indentation in the center. Other people with higher arches may leave footprints that are nearly C-shaped. Flat feet can benefit from arch support such as orthotic inserts for shoes. High arches can also cause trouble, especially if they are linked to a genetic condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth. It is a nerve disorder that can also lead to muscle weakness. Consequently, people with high arches may also need podiatric care for their feet to stay comfortable and healthy. Plantar Fasciitis Is a Pain The bottoms of your feet have thick connective tissue called fascia that run from the heel to the ball of the foot. Inflammation of this tissue causes pain, typically at the heel but sometimes along the arch. Often, more supportive footgear or special orthotics can help. Getting a shoe with the correct heel drop is important. That is the difference between the height of the shoe at the heel and at the toe. A podiatrist can recommend the most appropriate heel drop for your feet. Stretching is also useful, particularly pulling the toes toward the knee or stretching the calf in a runner's stretch pose and holding for 30 seconds or so. Rolling the bottom of the foot on a frozen water bottle helps with the stretch at the same time that the cold eases the inflammation. Plantar fasciitis is common and treatable. If left untreated, it may last a long time. What Can You Do About Stinky Feet? A couple of listeners shared their experiences with smelly feet, and we asked Dr. Andersen for her opinion. Jan described using a topical erythromycin antibiotic prescription that came as a roll-on. She also got rid of all her stinky shoes and is careful to wear socks that will wick sweat away. Dr. Andersen noted that erythromycin is very effective against a bacterial infection with Corynebacterium minutissimum. This organism glows coral under ultraviolet light and can definitely raise a stink. Sophia wrote about developing smelly feet after walking around in wet shoes. She finally solved the problem by treating her feet with rubbing alcohol. Dr. Andersen agreed that rubbing alcohol could be helpful. So can soaking the feet in a strong solution of tea. Other tips include cleaning the floor of the shower stall frequently and always wearing socks that wick–not cotton, which absorbs sweat but traps the moisture. Acrylic or wool work better. Another tactic is to alternate shoes; don't wear the same shoes day after day but give them at least a day to dry out. How Should You Treat a Sprained Ankle? There has been controversy lately about the standard RICE protocol for a sprain: rest, ice, compression and elevation. Some experts now recommend warmth instead of ice and gentle motion rather than rest immediately after a sprain. Of course, the first step is to ascertain that it is really a sprain and not a fracture. The treatment for those two injuries is completely different and the person suffering the problem may not be able to tell just from the way it feels. An X-ray is prudent. Bunions and Hammer Toes If you don't suffer from bunions, you might not know what they are. In a bunion, the bone that supports the big toe (the metatarsal) moves out of alignment and starts to point more towards the midline of the body. To compensate, the rest of the big toe ends up pointing back toward the rest of the foot. This creates a bump on the edge of the foot that might be painful. There doesn't seem to be any clear correlation between the size of the bump and the amount of pain it causes. Bunions seem to be hereditary, at least to some extent. Conservative management entails choosing footwear with a roomy toe box, not pointy-toed shoes. Podiatrists also correct bunions surgically. They can choose from a wide range of surgical approaches. In hammer toes, one of the toes (typically the second toe) curls over so that the end that would normally face forward points downward. This too can be corrected surgically, but the recovery can be pretty lengthy. A roomy toe box is also a good bet for living with hammer toe. Taking Care of Your Feet We asked Dr. Andersen for general advice, and she suggested that one very important consideration is to buy your athletic shoes in person, preferably at a store that caters to athletes. Buy the proper shoes for your activity; in other words, don't try to play pickleball in running shoes. One nationwide chain that does a good job fitting the shoe to the athlete is Fleet Feet. Locally, she recommends Bull City Running. This Week’s Guest Dr. Jane Andersen, Board Certified, American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, is in practice at Chapel Hill Foot and Ankle, part of FASMA, Foot and Ankle specialists of the Mid Atlantic, in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. Podcast Episode Description: "It's an exit plan, not an exit due." Host Laurie Barkman sits down with Alan Bennett, founder of Trust Built Solutions and exit planning coach who has lived through three very different business exits — a retail meat market that he closed in 2008, a contract catering business that a seller-financed deal and COVID unraveled in 2020, and a psychiatric practice exit to private equity where he finally got to use every lesson he had learned the hard way. Alan's story is one of the most honest and unfiltered accounts of what owner dependency really costs — not just in valuation, but in hours, health, relationships, and missed opportunities. He shares the trust cycle that unlocks delegation, the trap that keeps owners perpetually in the weeds, and why exit planning isn't about selling — it's about building a business that actually works without you. Key Insights You can build a $2 million business and still have nothing to sell. Alan's first business did over $2 million in combined retail and catering revenue — but without systems, processes, or a team that could run without him, he had no transferable asset when the time came. When the landlord forced the issue in 2008, closing was the only option. The business had value in revenue but none in structure. The tape measure at 2am is the moment owner dependency becomes visible. Alan snuck into his meat market at 2am to measure steaks with a tape measure — and his team saw it on the security camera. That moment destroyed their trust in him. Owner dependency isn't just about overwork — it's about the signal you send your team every time you step in to fix what they should be handling. Trust is the real solution to owner dependency — and it flows both ways. Owners think the problem is whether they trust their team. The real problem is whether the team trusts the owner. Trust must be rebuilt the same way it was broken, consistently over time. Once the team sees the owner trust them, delegation follows — and with delegation comes purpose, accountability, and a business that runs without the owner in every room. Recurring contract revenue changes everything about valuation. Alan's second business had almost the same revenue as his first — but seven school contracts and two summer camp agreements made it dramatically more valuable on paper. The nature of the cash flow matters as much as the size of the revenue. Predictable, contracted income is what buyers pay premiums for. Seller financing without protective deal structure is a catastrophic risk. Alan's chef bought the catering business on a 10-year seller note — and COVID made him unable to pay after four months. Because the right protective language wasn't in the agreement, Alan had no real recourse beyond liquidating equipment at pennies on the dollar. The deal structure must be built before the agreement is signed, not after something goes wrong. Exit planning is not the same as selling — and most owners don't know the difference. Many business owners, especially in the trades, recoil at the phrase "exit planning" because they think it means they're selling. Alan reframes it: a well-executed exit plan makes the business easier to grow, easier to finance, and easier to scale — whether you ever sell or not. The best time to start was 20 years ago. The second best time is today. The year is 1980. The U.S. National Debt is a paltry $900 Billion, the word “yuppie” appears for the first time in print, the Pac-Man videogame is released in arcades everywhere, Mount St. Helens explodes in Washington state, and Cable News Network (also known as CNN) becomes a thing. In the world of metal, Iron Maiden release their self-titled debut album, Black Sabbath reinvent themselves with new frontman Ronnie James Dio on vocals and release Heaven and Hell, and AC/DC regroup after the tragic loss of Bon Scott and release Back In Black featuring new vocalist Brian Johnson, an album that would go on to sell more than 40 million copies and become one of the biggest selling albums of all time. Just as time and technology continued marching forward, the hard rock of the 70's continued its evolution into a new direction with a faster, heavier, and more aggressive sound beginning in 1980 that would become even faster, heavier, and more aggressive throughout the 80's. This week on the SheerLuxe Podcast, Polly Newman is joined by Josh Smith and Lucia Hawley. They dive into everything from summer style and footwear debates to binge-worthy TV and recent obsessions. Plus, they get into ‘Should I Marry A Murderer?' – the Netflix documentary everyone's talking about – and debate whether love really does make you do crazy things. The conversation also takes a more personal turn as the team open up about burnout, sleep struggles and the importance of slowing down. Modern day phrases that annoy the life out of Anna and Raven. It's not on your 2026 Bingo card? Why would you predict a bingo card any ways?! A woman is going viral after making a TikTok in tears over men in flip flops. Valid. Anna claims they aren't only ugly, but they also don't know how to walk in them. Get it together! Am I close? I think we all may know a thing or two about this. Viruses and quarantine. Producer Justin dives into the new Hantavirus to see how much Anna and Raven really know. Anna, Raven Producer Justin and Producer Sophia discuss bathrooms and the significance of a friendship you make in one when the opportunity presents itself. The men don't agree as much. Now, we put it on the test. Anna and Sophia attempt to get closer in the bathroom. Justin and Raven follow to do the same. This is a scientific study, and Chat GPT provided questions to make the bond tighter. Crypto is changing, Caitlyn Jenner is being sued for fraud, and pizza can be delivered to your house by a robot. Drone delivery. Times are changing! Maybe this time the pizza wont come upside down and sideways. It's weigh-in day for Boss Keith! He is currently on his “Fit-by-50” weight loss journey and today Anna and Raven tried to sabotage him, but he wouldn't give in! Not like it would've made a difference anyways. 3 weeks till the big day! Do you think he will make his goal weight by then? Anna's cholesterol is high and she is distraught over the fact that they are taking everything she loves. Specifically, sausage. This has ruined all of her future charcuterie board plans for the foreseeable future. Joann and John's daughter just got home from her first year at college and she gained a significant amount of weight. The strange part is that she hasn't said anything about it and still dresses in her usual crop tops and shorter shorts/skirts despite obviously putting on at least thirty pounds. Dad says that mom needs to talk to her about the weight gain and address it, especially since she's still dressing like she's thin. Mom says that there's no way you can address it without making her feel bad about herself. They shouldn't say anything, dad says if your parents can't tell you to eat healthier, then who can? What would you do? Lexi has a chance to win $500! All he has to do is answer more pop culture questions than Raven in Can't Beat Raven!

DOJ warns media outlets over classified leaks after details emerged about the missing — now rescued — pilot, and Todd Blanche unloads on reporters over the coverage. Joe Pags digs into the real question: do journalists have the right to report classified information if they get it? He also revisits the Ashley Biden diary situation and praises James O'Keefe for showing restraint despite still being raided by the FBI. Then, a stunning reversal as former DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas reportedly admits regrets over Biden-era immigration policy after years of claiming the border was secure. Plus, Heritage Foundation foreign policy expert Andrew Harding joins to break down Iran, the Strait of Hormuz, and why President Trump's trip to China could shape what happens next globally. Xavier Becerra is walking a fine line on Gavin Newsom’s homelessness record. After giving the governor an ‘A for effort’ at a San Francisco debate last week — a comment that drew swift backlash — Becerra softened his stance during last night’s Southern California debate. Becerra said that instead he was grading the Governor's overall record and not making a comment on homelessness. It's Hump Day on The Majority Report On today's program: The Trump administration still cannot explain the reasoning for this war in Iran or if it's a war at all. This confusion comes after Marco Rubio and House Speaker Mike Johnson suggested that the timing of U.S. strikes was driven by Israel's planned attack on Iran, arguing that a preemptive strike was necessary to protect American forces, installations, and assets in the region. Trump has since contradicted Rubio and Johnson after his ego was hurt by the suggestion that he is controlled by Israel which forced Rubio to walk back his statements from Monday. Mike Masnick, editor of Tech Dirt and Brian Reed, host of Question Everything on KCRW join the program to discuss their opposing views on Section 230 of Communications Decency Act of 1996. Chuck Schumer, Markwayne Mulling and John Fetterman all stumble over their words as they address the media on Iran. MS NOW contributor David Rohde debunks Witkoff's claims that Iran had enough enriched uranium to make 11 nuclear weapons. James Talarico wins the democrat primary for the Senate. Frederick Haynes wins the dem primary in TX-30, the seat that will replace Jasmine Crockett. all that and more To connect and organize with your local ICE rapid response team visit ICERRT.com The Congress switchboard number is (202) 224-3121.
