God chose Joseph to be the earthly father to His Son. How amazing! Joseph's entire life changed that first Christmas. He went from living for himself to living out God's plan for his life. Today is our Commitment Sunday! Today is exactly 52 days since we started our NEXT Campaign as a church. Nehemiah and the people rebuilt the wall around Jerusalem in 52 days, and just imagine what God will do through us as we have prayed, sacrificed, and now give together. The people back then set the stage for Jesus' first coming, and we are building His church and setting the stage for our Savior's second coming. Today is a special day! May our God find us faithful as we invest in The NEXT 20 Years, The NEXT Generation, The NEXT Ministry, The NEXT Mission, and The NEXT One. Come, Lord Jesus, and find us faithful!

Just like Nehemiah, God has given each of us a work to do. First, it is coming to know Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior, receiving God's grace, and then growing more like Him every day. Also, it includes the work of developing our God-given gifts, growing a Ggodly family, building a great church for His glory, and more. It is so easy to be distracted, but when we stay focused and faithfulfaithflul to God's call, then this is where we see God do miracles. Join in what God is calling us to do individually, and as His Church, NEXT, and let's see God do what only He can do. Let's join together and watch what God will do NEXT.

When you serve the Lord, you can count on there being opposition. For all Christ-followers, we have an enemy who wars against us. In John 16:33, Jesus told His disciples, “In this world you will have trouble.” However, our God is greater! When opposition comes, use it as a time to grow your faith. Become more determined to do what God has called you to do and to become all He created you to be. Never give up! Whatever you face in life, always know God is with you, and He is for you. Trust Jesus today, and keep doing the work!

Just like God called Nehemiah, so God's call comes to each of us. God's call always takes boldness. When God gives a vision, we must pray and plan. We pray for God to go before us and prepare the way, and then we take the time to plan as we join God in accomplishing His will. Nehemiah shows us the importance of both praying and planning. So, what's your plan? What's your plan to grow spiritually, to disciple your family, and to make a difference in the world for the glory of God? God has given us, at Rolling Hills, a vision and a plan, so let's build together a godly life and a great church for the glory of our gracious God!

God is always working! God is always doing a new thing! Do you take the time to see it and position yourself in a place to be used by Him? So many stories in the Bible, including the book of Ezra, don't end tied up in a nice, neat package. Rather, these God-ordained moments and snapshots show us the need to continue placing our hope in Him, and they renew our passion to expect and anticipate more and more what He is doing. These stories also make us look forward with great joy to the day when He will call us all home to be with Him! Thank you, God, for the incredible stories you are writing! We can't wait to see what you have in store for us next! 

In an ever-changing world, there is only One constant – Jesus. As God's people today, we are to live in the confidence that He is forever and ever. Therefore, we live by faith and not fear. Out of our confidence in Christ, we are called to invest faith in Jesus to the next generation. We are called to pass on what has been entrusted to us. As parents, grandparents, and God's Church today, we must leave a legacy of faith and invest in what matters. What legacy are you leaving? 

Scripture counsels us to have the glory of God at the center of our lives. That means we are to live for His renown, and this should be evident in our lives. In fact, when we live for His glory over our own, it is always for our good. Paul says, “To Him be glory in the church.” The church (this is us) should be the most beautiful manifestation of His glory in the world. The picture of this in the early church shows a group of people focused on God, and the result is their good and God's glory. This should be true of us and the church today.

Our God can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine. Yet, so often, we settle for so little. We think only about what this world can offer, and we forget about the power, grace, and love of our great God. Jesus still does miracles today. As we stay faithful to Him, we are able to see and experience the beauty and power of God. Invite Jesus into your heart and daily life, and watch Him transform the ordinary into the extraordinary.

We all face challenges in life. Everyone is fighting a battle. When challenges come, we can choose to fight on our own, or we can pray and invite God into the battle. There is power in prayer. God answers every prayer we pray. Many times we are scared to pray because we don't know how God will answer. But, as we grow in our relationships with God, we learn to love Him enough to trust Him with the answer. Will you put your trust in God today? Pray bold prayers and then watch God do what only He can do. Our God is able.

It can be easy for us to get things out of order, mix up our priorities, and put secondary things, like personal preferences in the primary spot where they don't belong. It happens at home, at work, and just about anywhere you can imagine. The problem is, when our passion for our preferences becomes primary, we get distracted from what is truly important, and this is where the cracks of division begin to form. Paul's instruction to the Roman believers is just as important for us today. Don't dispute the dispute, let your passion be for the Gospel, and keep your eyes fixed on Jesus for that is of primary importance.

Our submission to God is evident in our capacity to love others and pursue holiness. By reflecting God's love and character, we bridge the gap between ourselves and the world, demonstrating God's true nature and revealing His love, grace, and authority to those around us.

For Israel then and us now, CLOSED doesn't mean FINAL.I ask then: Did God reject His people? By no means! Romans 11:1a What if we let Paul be both PATRON and PICTURE?I am an Israelite myself, a descendant of Abraham, from the tribe of Benjamin. Romans 11:1b Just because we see DOOM doesn't mean there's no DOOR.So too, at the present time there is a remnant chosen by grace. Romans 11:5 Question: Am I living a life that makes people LONG for or LIMIT grace?I am talking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch as I am the apostle to the Gentiles, I take pride in my ministry in the hope that I may somehow arouse my own people to envy and save some of them. Romans 11:13-14 Rather than conceited, the Gospel should make us CONVICTED.I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited… Romans 11:25a Evangelism must be an ongoing PRIORITY. (No MYSTERY there.)…that they too may now receive mercy as a result of God's mercy to you. Romans 11:31bPERSPECTIVE must be dosed regularly.Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. Colossians 3:2 Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! Romans 11:33

God sent His Son, Jesus, to bring salvation to the world. In the Old Testament, God called out a people for Himself through which He would reveal His character and ultimately send His Son, the Messiah. Salvation is not based on what we do or where we are born. Salvation is found in Jesus alone. Paul always had a heart to share Jesus with others – first for his own people, the Jews, and then for all others, the Gentiles. The call comes to each of us today to accept Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior and then to share Him with others. May God find us faithful in sharing His heart of salvation with others today.

A gospel foundation in the next generation happens when the adults in their life are intentional about living out the gospel. We pray that the next generation can observe God's Good News within us and that we can articulate God's great love toward us. His great love not only drives us toward repentance, but it also changes how we live and interact with the world around us. 

God calls us to live by faith. In Romans 4, Paul uses Abraham as an example of faith. Paul shows how Abraham believed God, and it was credited to Him as righteousness – and this was even before the Law. The Law doesn't save us – faith in Jesus saves us. The Law shows us where we fall short and how we need a Savior. It's not about religious practices like circumcision, but about a relationship with God through Jesus Christ, and the outward expression becomes baptism. Like Abraham, our faith and obedience to God impacts ourselves, our family, and generations.

In lieu of last week's events at Covenant School in Nashville, Pastor Jeff felt the need to address such an important topic. Today, Good Friday, is a day Christians recognize as the darkest day in history. However, sharing the hope we have in Jesus in a dark and broken world is our number one goal. Sunday is coming! One super helpful tool included in this month's podcast is a step-by-step plan for tragedy response. The guys talk about how important it is to properly disclose hard-to-share information based on age and maturity level. As men, our families will respond to future tragedies by how we lead now.
