You can measure the quality of your life... By the quality of your relationships. Relationships are EVERYTHING! First and foremost, you MUST have a relationship with YOURSELF. You have a relationship between your Conscious Mind, your Unconscious Mind and you Higher Conscious Mind. This is critical to your happiness, fulfillment, purpose and performance. Then and ONLY THEN can you have a great relationship with OTHERS. Think about it: How can you ever expect to have a great relationship with others when you don't even have a relationship with yourself?

Scripture For Today: 2 Samuel 21:14 “They buried the bones of Saul and his son Jonathan in the tomb of Saul's father Kish, at Zela in Benjamin, and did everything the king commanded. After that, God answered prayer in behalf of the land.”Acting on God's Promises  It's amazing how we can just go along and leave some scriptures alone as if they have no meaning in our life whatsoever. The last couple of days, I was sharing with you some spiritual insights from Mathew chapter 18, verses 18-20, concerning the prayer of agreement and binding and loosing.  But, as we discovered, your prayers must be in accordance with the Word of God and the Will of God. The only way you will know if your prayers are like that is IF YOU know the Word of God and the Will of God. And the only way you will do that is if YOU get into the Word of God on your own and start to study it out for yourself instead of relying on someone else to do the studying for you! Don't shout me down when I'm preaching good and stepping all over your toes! Praise God! That is one of the big problems today in churches. Most people do not even bring their own Bible to church anymore! They rely on the church to put the scriptures up on the big screen for them! They rely on the pastor or preacher to do all of the studying for them and just tell them a few neat tidbits of information – just like I'm doing here for you!  If this is the extent of your Bible study – you are in a heap more trouble than Brother Bob can ever teach you to get out of in 10 minutes per day, that's for sure! You need to get into the Word of God on your own. You need to get into the Word on a daily basis. You need to go before the Lord in prayer on a daily basis. YOU NEED TO DO IT!  Amen! You see, we all have a part to play in getting our prayers answered. When we make our move by declaring what God's Word says in our situation, THEN and ONLY THEN will God move on our behalf. Now, there will be times when He moves simply out of His Grace and Mercy – but I'm talking about the prayer of agreement and binding and loosing. WE have a part to play in this! So, let's recap how far we have come in the last few days. Let's start by reading Mathew 18:18-20 again… “Verily I say unto you, whatsoever you shall bind on earth shall be bound in Heaven. And whatsoever you shall loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven.” Verse 19, “Again I say unto you, that if two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in Heaven.”  Verse 20, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.” Jesus is teaching us the WE have the spiritual authority to bind and loose things on this earth that we desire. To bring this power to pass in our prayer lives, it behooves us to find another believer that will pray in agreement with us. BUT – our prayers MUST line up with God's Word and God's Will. When we do that, we KNOW what the Word of God says about our situation, we have another believer who also knows what the Word of God says (and believes it) concerning the situation we are praying about – AND we know Jesus is right there in our midst AS WE PRAY… You can't help but WIN!  Jesus said so! He promised us it would work! Amen! Look at the last part of verse 19 again, “…it SHALL be done for them of my Father who is in Heaven.” AMEN! And AMEN! I want to pray with you right now that you are understanding this. I know for many of you, this may be the first time you are hearing these scriptures taught in this light. But it is high time you started to believe them. Amen! Let's Pray! Until next time, this is Pastor Bob Thibodeau reminding you from 1 Thessalonians 5:17 in the Living Bible to “Always Keep on Praying!”  Be blessed in all that you do! Welcome to Real Talk. I'm Kelly Wilson. I'm a voice actor for commercials, eLearning, politicals, explainers, medical narration, corporate training, IVR, children's content, commercials, and a whole lot more. Hear my demos at www.KellyWilsonVO.com or subscribe at www.KellyWilsonVO.com/Subscribe Today's topic: A former colleague emailed me and asked me to pick my brain for advice about voice over. I'm at the point where I don't always have time for that kind of stuff, so I am answering it here on today's podcast. He's looking for tips, advice, good places to start for someone looking to begin a career in voice acting. He is currently a videographer, so he has experience with production and knows that world. He says he's got a quality microphone set up. And he's got a small, soundproof closet situation happening that he can record in, and he has no idea where to go from here. It all seems fairly daunting. Dude, well put, yes, it's overwhelming for sure. My three pillars of advice are always this: 1 - Get training, get a VoiceOver Performance coach, never stop coaching. Check out https://rhondasvoice.com/ . She is a fantastic coach, voice actor, and human. 2 - Get a professional demo or demos. Once your coach clears you to record a demo, THEN do it. Beware of demo farms. Listen to your gut and get a couple of different opinions. 3 - Market your butt off! These three things are A LOT! I highly recommend only setting 90 day goals. Check these out, I highly recommend: https://12weekyear.com/ https://www.90dayyear.com/ (I REALLY like this one!) So pick one thing, if you are just starting out, pick the first one and start with a coach. Only work on one project at a time, ONLY THEN move on to the next project. As for your home studio…does it sound like a professional, studio grade recording studio? Get it checked by the best: http://www.georgethe.tech/ Also, invest in BASS TRAPS: https://youtu.be/41liBn-QNW4 Next, go down the YouTube rabbit hole of voice over: Check out Bill Dewees, Booth Junkie, Gabby Nistico, & Lisa Biggs (there are more!). It's a lot, but I hope this will help those who are interested in starting the path of voice over. Greetings! Welcome to Lechem Panim. We've been taking a look at the epistle of 1 John. And last week we were in the middle of chapter two, where John warns about the coming anti-Christ; the man of Lawlessness; that great enemy of Christ, but also about the anti-Christ's who are already in the world, even at that time, infiltrating the Church and spreading false teaching. And so John wants to show his readers how to spot the false teacher; the false Christian.  PAWN STARS— One of my favorite shows I used to like to watch is a show on History Channel called Pawn (that's P.A.W.N) stars. This show centers around four individuals who run a pawn shop in Las Vegas. Now customers come into this pawn shop bringing all kinds of memorabilia to sell and these four individuals reveal a little about the history of each artifact and tell you if it is authentic or not. If it is authentic they will try to buy the artifact at a cheaper cost and sell it in their Pawn shop. But the failure or success of their business rests on their ability to decipher what is authentic and what is not; what has value and what does not. Bike made to look old— Some time ago I was watching and this lady brought in this old, beat up bicycle from the 30's or 40's. She said it was authentic and it seemed to be so. But on closer inspection Rick (one these managers) began to see some things that did not seem right. A couple of pieces on the bike weren't in use until decades after that time period. Also, while the pedals turned, there were no chains or even a place for chains. It turns out that the bike was a replica (never meant to be ridden) that had been artificially aged to look like a rare, older bicycle. It was next to worthless. Diamonds sold on the street-- Perhaps one of the most fascinating segments of the show when Rick was talking about diamonds and how to tell the real ones from the fakes: (1) First of all, a man is not going to sell you a genuine diamond on the street for $50 if he can go down the street and sell it for $2000 at a diamond store where they can verify its authenticity. (2) Secondly, Real diamonds do not have that cotton shape to them that many of the imitation ones do. (3) Thirdly, They reflect the light better than imitation diamonds. (4) Fourthly, if you take a piece of fine sandpaper and rub it on the diamond, it will scratch and crumble a fake diamond, but will not touch a real one. (5) Lastly, feel the rim around the diamond. Because diamonds cannot be cut smoothly, but must rather be cut jaggedly, if the rim of the diamond is smooth, it is a fake. Now in addition to helping his readers to understand how to know when a teacher is not of the true faith; not in Christ, John also wants to help them to know and have assurance that they themselves are in Christ. And to do that we must examine ourselves. 2 Corinthians 13:5 (ESV)-- 5 Examine yourselves, to see whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Or do you not realize this about yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you fail to meet the test! And so that is what much of chapter 3 centers on. Now chapter 2 ends with John's saying…  1 John 2:28a (ESV)— 28 And now, little children, abide in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink from him in shame at his coming. Now I want you to turn to John 15 with me for a moment; because John isn't pulling this word “abide” out of a vacuum, but is rather reminding his readers of something Jesus Himself had said. Jesus had said in… John 15:4-11 (ESV)-- 4 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. 5 I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. 6 If anyone does not abide in me he is thrown away like a branch and withers; and the branches are gathered, thrown into the fire, and burned. 7 If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. 8 By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples. 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. 11 These things I have spoken to you, that my joy may be in you, and that your joy may be full. Abide— One scholar I read explained, saying […this word abide means "live." We live in Christ and Christ lives in us. This relationship is often called "mutual indwelling." Christ lives in us and we live in Christ, so life flows from one to the other. One is to abide in him where his presence permeates my life and somehow he includes me in him. The best example we have of this kind of relationship is the relationship of marriage. Once two have "become one flesh" you can't separate the two. When you talk about one you have to talk about the other. As marriage is the grafting of two people together, so being a true disciple of Christ means we are to be grafted into Him. Only THEN can we be fruitful. The life apart from Him will bear nothing. If there is anything in our lives outside of our abiding in Him, it will come to nothing. Is there anything in you outside of Christ's abiding presence in your life? Is it your attitude; your anger; your lust; your greed; your jealousy? If we have any of these things in our lives, our ministries will not just be smaller or less affective. Jesus says "NO, YOU WILL HAVE NO MINISTRY! .......Apart from me there is nothing!!!!!!)] Now this word, "abide," is a dominant word in the Gospel of John and is repeated often. 17 of the 18 times the word "abide" occurs in the New Testament are from either the Gospel or Epistles of John. Where do we abide? Jesus says abide "in me." Many scholars think that the heart of Johannine theology (a fancy way of saying "The Theology of John" are the words "in me" or "in him." Within the Gospel of John alone there are 23 uses of "in me" and 21 uses of "in him. You Must Abide— So what is Jesus trying to say here? He is trying to say that "without me you can do NOTHING” I am the source of your salvation! I am the source of your transformation (your pruning, as it were, as we see in verse 2)! If you want to bear fruit both in your life and in the lives of others, you must remain IN ME!!!............you MUST remain....in me.” What Does It Mean to Abide?— Now I read this passage numerous times over the years, but never quite understood what Jesus was talking about. I read the words "abide in me" but didn't really understand what Jesus meant. I wondered, is it my making use of the spiritual disciplines?, such as scripture reading and memorization, prayer, fasting, and going to church? What does Jesus mean by abiding in him? I found myself wondering to Jesus, "I WANT to be that branch that is firmly grafted into you, but what does that mean?" But then I kept reading. Look at verse 9: John 15:9-10 (ESV)-- 9 As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love. 10 If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love. {And John says a similar thing in…} 1 John 2:29 (ESV)-- 29 If you know that he is righteous, you may be sure that everyone who practices righteousness has been born of him. Obedience-- Ah, suddenly the passage began to make sense to me. So it is OBEDIENCE that Jesus is looking for. "Without obedience there is no abiding, without abiding there is no fruit.” Well, that sounds good, but obedience to what specifically? What kind of obedience is Jesus looking for in this passage? It is interesting that in my mind I immediately started to think legalistically, wondering what Law it was that I needed to follow. But then Jesus goes on in verse 12: 12 “This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Ok, Jesus, I can do that. I mean I love my family; I love my wife. But Jesus says, "But Cameron, not just any kind of love. Listen..." 13 Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. Whoa...this may not seem too serious, but remember that Jesus never once, anywhere in scripture asks His disciples to do anything which He is not first willing to do Himself. You see....just a few chapters later HE lays his life down for THEM.  Sacrificial Love-- So we see here that this is not some kind of wishy-washy, merely emotional kind of love that our culture is trying to shove down our throats. No it is the kind of love that is only symbolized by the sacrifice manifested on the cross; a pure and perfect love that says "I love you Jesus, and because I love you, I am willing to lay my life down for you, your kingdom, and your people. That is what it means to abide in Christ. And John is very careful to keep this concept central in His writings because our salvation is IN Jesus Christ. To know Christ; to abide in Him is to know and abide in your salvation. And what shields us from hell is not a decision we made one time at an altar, but a continual abiding IN His presence. Because He IS our salvation. You can't talk about heaven without salvation; and you can't talk about salvation apart from Jesus Christ; because that is who He is. He IS life. He IS love. That is why salvation and love are never (for the Christian) abstract theological or emotional concepts. No, they are intimately personal because they are wrapped up in and defined by the personhood of Jesus. And just like a husband may take on some of the character traits of his wife and vice versa, so also we (when we abide in Christ) we become like Him in His character. We become more loving, we become filled with truth. That is what comes from fellowship with Jesus. And so I want to encourage you today to embrace the abiding life. Don't settle for simply knowing about Jesus; transformation doesn't happen at that level. They key to a transformed, vibrant life is one in which we abide in a continual communion with our Savior. Apart from that there is nothing. Everything begins in that life-giving relationship. And if you don't have that relationship, I encourage you to start one today. Say to Jesus, “Jesus, please help me to belong to you in that kind of relationship.” And He will honor that requests. Let us do that today. Amen.

Imagine that you were given the opportunity to sit miles above the earth and observe the world from God’s perspective. You see all the wars, all the poverty, all the substance abuse, all of the injustice, you can see it all.    Then suppose you were given 1 Million Dollars with which to combat the world’s problems. The only catch is, you can only invest in one endeavor, one issue, one problem… what would you attack? What issue would you attempt to resolve?    I spent the better part of last week in the country of Guatemala with leaders from Compassion International. There is something about being in a 3rd world country that magnifies the issues at hand.    Little boys loosing their hair because of malnutrition.  Little girls walking on dangerous streets without shoes or proper clothing.  12 year old recruited as gang members.    How do you fix that? Is the solution political? Is there an economic solution? Perhaps education would help? While all of those things can certainly be improved upon.   To me the answer was crystal clear - the common denominator between hundreds of boys and girls living in poverty in Guatemala and around the worlds - was simply the absence of fathers.    STAT: One study by the California Department of Education (Not a conservative institution) showed that 98% of behaviorally challenged students were emotionally damaged young boys whose one common characteristic was the absence of a father.    Simultaneously, they discovered that when fathers were actively involved in the life of child the kids were 46% less likely to use drugs 27% less likely to use alcohol and 52% less likely to skip school.    STAT: Of the 27 Deadliest school shootings (all perpetrators were male) in American History 26 of the shooters had one thing in common - no Father in their life.   ILLUSTRATION: His his book, “Faith of the Fatherless” The Psychology of Atheism, psychologist Paul Vitz demonstrates how the major proponents of modern atheism were from homes where the father was either absent or abusive. He looks at 19 case studies including Voltaire, Thomas Hobbes, and David Hume, Nietzsche, Bertrand Russell, Jean-Paul Sartre, Joseph Stalin, and Sigmund Freud himself. In each case, the “defective father” hypothesis holds.       STAT: Simultaneously - Studies show that if a child is the first in a family to get saved there is a 3.5% chance that everyone else in the family will get saved. If it is the mother, there is a 17% chance that everyone else will get saved. If it is the father, there is a 93% chance that everyone else will get saved.    Tony Evans was right -  As goes the man, so goes the family As goes the family, so goes the church As goes the church, so goes the community  As goes the community, so goes the nation   So if you want to change the nation, change the community If you want to change the community, change the church If you want to change the church, change the family  If you want to change the family, change the man   CONTEXT: So it shouldn’t surprise us that right in the middle of the Bible we find the book of Proverbs, which has as it’s primary goal to turn BOYS into MEN OF WISDOM.    It also shouldn’t surprise us that according to Steve Farrar - the number one battle strategy of Satan is to: Neutralize the Man. Man was created and placed in the Garden with 3 basic purposes.  In Genesis 1:26–31 Man was created as a Reflector, a Leader, and a Cultivator.    Man was a Reflector  Genesis 1:26 (ESV) 26 Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.   ILLUSTRATION: Man bears the image of God as a mirror bears the image of man. It takes all that it is given and re-presents what it receives. Mankind was the one species in all creation capable of accomplishing that.   2. Man was to be a Leader Man was given dominion over all of the created order. He was commanded to subdue the earth and have dominion over it. Man was designed to reign under God for the good of his fellow man and the glory of his Lord.   3. Man was a Cultivator  Genesis 2:15 (ESV) 15 The Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to work it and keep it.   There was an innate desire within a man to take something and improve upon it.  A man gets a car, he upgrades the radio.  He gets a laptop, he makes it faster He gets a house, he goes to Lowe’s and paints stuff builds stuff. But then God said something for the first time - IT IS NOT GOOD. It is not good for man to be alone. JOKE: A Deacon tole me that at that point, God brought man a chimpanzee, a gorilla, a orangoutang - but Adam said, “God that isn’t exactly what I had in mind - I wanted someone who can rub my back, cook gourmet food, always look beautiful and attractive in my presence… God said, “Adam that will cost you and arm and a leg…” To which Adam replied, “what can I get for a rib?”. Woman was taken from the man and brought to the man to compliment him. She wasn’t a replica with different plumbing - she was different. As a matter of fact the Bible says God MADE the man, but it says He FASHIONED the woman. He fashioned her and brought her to the man. Together God said they were VERY GOOD.    But man sinned. Incidentally - have you ever noticed, who God came looking for after the fall? Who fell first? Eve! But listen to Gen. 3:9 Genesis 3:9 (ESV) 9 But the Lord God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”   Now that Adam had believed the word of Satan over the word of God…he was fallen, broken. Now he no longer was a great REFLECTION of God’s glory. His sin nature made man like a broken mirror and no longer can you get a clear picture of who God is, what he is like by looking at a man, the image is marred.  No longer was man the proper LEADER, operating under the Lordship of Christ, but now he was a free agent, doing things his way, perverting Justice, not protecting, not serving.  No longer was CULTIVATION a joy, now weeds would come up and make Man’s work difficult.    SOLOMON IN PROVERBS - seeks to help us get back to God’s original design for masculinity: SO THE MAN OF WISDOM -  1. Receives and Reflects Like the moon you have no light of your own, but as you stand before the sun, you shine with it’s glory.    If you want to be a man of wisdom - seek the Lord, learn from him, spend time with him.    You see that CONTRAST drawn throughout proverbs.     Proverbs 10:8 (ESV) 8 The wise of heart will receive commandments, but a babbling fool will come to ruin.   ILLUSTRATION: Like a good steak - allow your heart to marinate in His word. Let HIS essence infuse your essence. Sit under HIS Word in HIS presence - until people cant be around you without sensing something of Him.   Proverbs 9:9 (ESV) 9 Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; teach a righteous man, and he will increase in learning.   There are some men who come to this church week after week and it make ZERO difference. They aren’t growing, changing, learning… there are others who are significantly different today than they were 9 months ago. Here’s the deal - it has nothing to do with the sermon - it’s the person.    Jesus was not called an image bearer  Colossians 1:15 (ESV) 15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.   Jesus always sought to reflect the image of God.   He said: At the age of 12, “I must be about my Father’s business” As an adult - I don’t speak of my own initiative but what the Father gives me I speak.  He prayed, “thy Kingdom come, thy will be done” He prayed, “I don’t want to drink the cup of suffering, but not my will, your will be done... I will receive your command.” Jesus could say - you see me, you see the Father.    MEN - Are we able to point to you and tell our sons and say, “God is sort of like... that guy”. Receives and Reflects… 2. Submits and Leads   Notice how submission always precedes progress and authority… Proverbs 3:5–10 (ESV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and (THEN and ONLY THEN) he will make straight your paths.    7 Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil. (THEN and ONLY THEN) 8 It will be healing to your flesh and refreshment to your bones.    9 Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the firstfruits of all your produce; 10 then (THEN and ONLY THEN) your barns will be filled with plenty, and your vats will be bursting with wine.   A wise man understands how authority works. You see the world’s view of authority is very different from scriptures view.    Scripture portrays the man who has the most authority as the one who is MOST under God’s Authority. (REPEAT)   The biblical definition of a man is a male who is operating under the authority of God.    A male who is NOT operating under God’s authority has not yet graduated to manhood.    Tony Evans said, “A man’s self definition is intricately tied to his spiritual subordination”.    Matthew 8:5–10 (ESV) tells the story of Jesus coming to Capernaum… 5 When he had entered Capernaum, a centurion came forward to him, appealing to him, 6 “Lord, my servant is lying paralyzed at home, suffering terribly.” 7 And he said to him, “I will come and heal him.” 8 But the centurion replied, “Lord, I am not worthy to have you come under my roof, but only say the word, and my servant will be healed. 9 For I too am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. And I say to one, ‘Go,’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes, and to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it.” 10 When Jesus heard this, he marveled and said to those who followed him, “Truly, I tell you, with no one in Israel have I found such faith.   This is one of only two times Jesus said someone has great faith - this guy who understood authority.    The Christian Man is supposed to be a King operating under the Sovereign Rule of Christ. Those under his authority are supposed rest in peace and security. But when a man rejects his office, and God’s wisdom... he abuses his strength, rule and authority.    ILLUSTRATION: God’s Authority is like an Umbrella - it doesn’t stop the rain from falling but it can protect you from getting wet.    Adam as the King of Eden should have ruled over the serpent, drove him out of paradise, but rather he cooperates with evil. And when God came around rather than taken his punishment like a man, he tried to direct God’s anger at the woman.    ILLUSTRATION: When my son was born I gave him a pocket watch and knife and I had engraved on that watch, “Pro. 31:4” IT IS NOT FOR KINGS OH LEMUEL.    Why? Because that is saying that a King who is under the authority of God understands that there are some things that all the other boys can do… but it’s not for him.    All the other men may cheat on their wives - but that’s not for you.  All the other men may be lazy and coast at work - but that’s not for you.  All the other men may neglect their children - but that’s not for you.    You are under the authority of the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords.    Your expressed authority will be in direct proportion to your experienced authority.    Receives and Reflects…Submits and leads… 3. Grows and Cultivates When a man walks with God he God CULTIVATES HIM and HE cultivates the world around him. As a result he has the marvelous ability to improve practically every aspect of his life.    Proverbs 28:20 (ESV) 20 A faithful man will abound with blessings, but whoever hastens to be rich will not go unpunished.   Notice how as this man is faithful to the Lord, the Lord sees to it, that he abounds with blessings!    Look at Proverbs 31. We are accustomed to the Proverbs 31 woman, but notice her husband… Proverbs 31:10 (ESV) 10 An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. This man highly values and prizes his wife. How do you think that effects her? Ladies do you think it would make a difference in your life if you lived with a man who consistently treats you as more valuable than any treasure in his life? Proverbs 31:11 (ESV) 11 The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain.   This man creates an environment of trust and respect and as a result his wife reaches her full potential. As a result he and his family benefits.    Proverbs 31:28–29 (ESV) 28 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: 29 “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”   Notice that this man encourages his wife, he builds her up, his children follow his lead.    LISTEN: The Godly man improves things, he adds value, he makes them better. Can I ask you an honest question... how have you improved the things you have served in?    ILLUSTRATION: I had a guy at my last church griping and complaining about his wife. How sorry she was, how ineffective she was… I said how long have you been married to her? He said 15 years… I said, well if she had deproved that much… you must be one sorry leader.    LISTEN: Here is how it works - Exodus 34:23–24 (ESV) 23 Three times in the year shall all your males appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel. 24 For I will cast out nations before you and enlarge your borders; no one shall covet your land, when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year.   You get under Him and He takes care of the rest…   If you come under my authority - I’ll fight your battles.  Proverbs 10:9 (ESV) 9 Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but he who makes his ways crooked will be found out.   Do you see that? You focus on following the Lord, and God will focus on making your way secure.   Jesus Christ is the ultimate Man. Maximum manhood. The perfect Model. The complete Hero.   REFLECTOR - You see me you see the Father KING - All authority in Heaven and on Earth has been given to me. He has a name above all names, that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that He is Lord to the glory of God the Father.  CULTIVATOR - Follow me, and I will MAKE YOU fishers of men…

Like... maybe? No seriously, the Cavs should win the East since they still have that LeBron James guy but the second best team in the East is absolutely the 76ers. No, it's not the Raptors. More like Craptors, imho. Maybe if the Raptors get some luck and draw the 76ers in the second round, but seeing as they're going to have to play the Cavs it looks like curtains for them earlier than they had hoped. But can the 76ers beat the beleaguered Celtics? Sure, why the hell not? The most intriguing Eastern Conference Finals matchup - by far - is the team with Simmons and Embiid vs. LeBron. As for the Western Conference playoffs: all 15 teams are still eligible for the 3 seed. No one will have any idea who is in the playoffs until the Wolves play the Nuggets on the final day of the season. ONLY THEN will we have even the slightest bit of a clue as to whomst is playing.

Self Directed Investor Talk: Alternative Asset Investing through Self-Directed IRA's & Solo 401k's

What's a great way to diversify your real estate portfolio so you STILL get great cash flow… but without the headaches or legal risk of having a constant stream of tenants? This may be my favorite type of asset of all, my friends, and I'm going to tell you about it right now. I'm Bryan Ellis. This is Episode #207! Hello, SDI Nation! Welcome to the podcast of record for savvy self-directed investors like you, where we help you to find, understand and profit from exceptional investment opportunities! Check my first article for TheStreet.com, a major news website that focuses on stock market investing. It seems they wanted to get some perspective about the real estate world, and they feel that your's truly will bring them a big audience. I'm betting they're correct. Hehehe. So, the last couple of days have been a bit downcast, I'll admit. The ugly lawsuit going on in Virginia against that landlord who made the unthinkable mistake of demanding background checks… and yesterday's discussion of the harsh reality of the fact that Uncle Sam is not on your side… well… I know that's a mouthful of bitterness to swallow. But let's return from the land of gloom and doom to focus on what we all love: Investments that are SIMPLE, SAFE and STRONG! Today I'm going to tell you about my favorite asset class: Real Estate Notes! But let's not bore ourselves with discussions of LTV's and interest rates and principal balances. No way! Rather, I'm going to tell you a story about a wonderful, amazing, magical golden box. Here's the story: You are visiting Omaha, Nebraska, headquarters of Berkshire Hathaway, the investment firm made famous by super-investor Warren Buffett. You're there for Buffett's annual shareholder meeting. This event, if you've ever been to it, is totally unlike any other shareholder meeting in the world. People come in from all over the world to attend this meeting – very, very smart, well informed and well connected people attend this meeting. They attend it because they're going to get the chance to hear from the man himself, the Oracle of Omaha… the one man on the planet who is revered as something nearly god-like in the investment world, none other than Mr. Buffett himself. Buffett always uses this meeting to give his impressions of how he's performed at Berkshire Hathaway, and he also talks more broadly about the state of the stock market, the economy, and the world. When Buffett speak, people listen… and that's why you're there… to learn from THE MAN. So, much to your delight and surprise, Buffett grabs you by the arm and pulls you into a private room. He says, “Look, I've got a magical box made of pure gold. This box is magical because every month for the next 30 years, it's going to spit out $1,000 cash. It just works automatically, no effort required from you. Plus, the box itself is worth $150,000 just from the gold content. I'd like to sell this box to you for only $100,000. Would you like to buy it?” So you think it over… and honestly, it's kind of a no-brainer. You get $1,000 per month for 30 years. And the box is worth $50 GRAND more than you've got to pay for it. If that wasn't enough, it's none other than WARREN BUFFETT recommending it to you… and like the box, his reputation is pure gold. So you tell Mr. Buffett: “Yes, I'd like to buy the magical golden box.” Then he looks at you and says “GREAT! But there's one catch: In 30 years from now, I get the box back." Well, that puts a bit of a curveball in your plans. You were secretly considering just “flipping” this magical golden box to capture as much of the $50,000 profit as you could, but it turns out, that could be difficult since Buffett gets the box back in 30 years from now. But you put pencil to paper, you do the math, and you realize that it's still a pretty strong deal to get $1,000 per month for 30 years in exchange for $100,000 now. But then, something important occurs to you. So you ask: “Mr. Buffett, what happens if the box stops working correctly, and doesn't continue to pay me $1,000 per month. What then?” And with a gleam of pride in his eye, Buffett looks at you and says “NOW you've asked the right question. I promise you on my word that you'll get your $1,000 per month for the next 30 years. But if something happens, and for some reason you DON'T get your monthly payment… THEN, and ONLY THEN, can you sell the box to recoup your investment and lost profits.” So you noodle the whole thing for a minute… and when you do, what you see is that this deal that Buffett is proposing to you is simple… because in return for investing $100,000 you get $1,000 per month for 30 years. It's safe because if for some reason your money doesn't get paid, you can sell that box, which is worth $50 GRAND more than you paid. And it's strong because – according to my trusty dusty, handy dandy financial calculator, the yield you'd be receiving on your money would be 11.63%... so that's really nice. That's it… it's a simple, safe and strong deal… it meets that basic criteria that we espouse here at SDI Society. So why this mythical story about a magical golden box? Because it's really just a story about how real estate notes work. A note is just a financial instrument that entitles it's owner to cash flow – payments from a mortgage. And just like that golden box, if you don't get your payments, you can sell the asset itself – the house – to get your money back. The opportunity lies in the fact that notes are what's called “negotiable instruments”. In other words, they can be bought and sold. You could sell the cash flow – the monthly payment stream – to somebody else for what you paid for it, or for more or for less. And if you get your payments as promised, it's all good. If not, you can sell the house attached to the note and get your money back that way. Same deal with a note. The level of flexibility you have with these things is simply astonishing. We won't get into the complexities right now, but let me make this clear to you: There's simply no more flexible type of financial instrument than a good real estate note, in my humble but entirely accurate opinion. Hehehehe. The options are astounding… and these instruments can easily be engineered – or even RE-ENGINEERED – to give you PRECISELY the level of simplicity, safety and strength that your portfolio needs. But how do you find them? Patience, my friends… patience! I'll cover that in tomorrow's episode. As for now, I have a favor to ask of you: *PLEASE* consider doing me a favor. In case you didn't know, there's now a VIDEO version of this show that's on YouTube. I'd be SO GRATEFUL if you'd visit the youtube page right now for this show – it's at SDIRadio.com/youtube – and PLEASE subscribe to the SDI Society channel there. It's free, it's simple… and I'll be truly grateful to you! Tomorrow we'll hit the ground running with some tips on FINDING great note investments. You're going to love it.
