Tom Grennan spent many childhood summers in Ireland. He always talks fondly of his time with his Irish family in Offaly. His latest song, 'Don't Break My Heart' is dedicated to his Irish cousin Alan who passed away in a car accident when he was only eighteen. As Tom says they were more than cousins, they were really like best mates. To lose him was a tragedy. I am always thinking of him. We were the two tight ones. The same age. I want him to live forever. I put him on the single cover. I know the world keeps turning but we always need to remember the ones we lose. He also chats about his super skills as seen in the Soccer Aid game (see below skinning James Bay!) Would he take the call from Stephen Kenny!!? He's even boxed with Beckham! Tom also cannot wait for his dates at the 3Olympia and Live At The Marquee in 2022! The singer popped into TodayFM Towers to play two live tracks, 'Don't Break My Heart' and his HUGE smash 'A Little Bit Of Love' - they sound INCREDIBLE. It's not unusual for The Fergal Darcy Show to have the world's biggest music guests but we still pinch ourselves that we got to talk to a true legend. Sir Tom Jones is a phenomenon. Over 100 million records sold. Thirty six Top 40 hits over a career of five decades. Grammy, Ivor Novello and Brit Awards adorn his shelves. And best of all he was BFF's with the 'King of Rock and Roll' himself the beyond iconic Elvis Presley. And now as one of the Judges on The Voice he has re-invented himself again. Wow. So, surely he had done enough in his career? OH NO. I wasn’t so well a couple of years ago. When I came out of hospital, I saw the doctor and he said that, taking my age into account, it was time to slow down. Well, really, that was like a red rag to a bull. And from that moment, 'Surrounded By Time' was born. And now it has gone straight to Number 1 in The U.K. The Welsh Whirlwind is back and better than ever. He tells Fergal D'Arcy the story behind the songs. All of them carefully chosen by him from The Waterboys outstanding opus 'This Is The Sea' to Bob Dylan's 'One More Cup Of Coffee' he has tried like a legendary Actor entering a famous role to inhabit the songs in the same way. He also tells the story of Prince Philip as a fan. And his amazing story of how he stopped his dad from going back down the coal mines. Put the kettle on. Put the feet up. The game was so big at the time it was shown live at the request of the crowd! Moby was a HUGE Father Ted fan and decided that Ardal O'Hanlon should sing My Lovely Horse to over 80,000 mad Slane fans! I just had this idea. Wouldn't it be amazing if Dougal (Ardal) could play My Lovely Horse with me to the crowd. Ardal said yes but he aloo said he was watching the game. So, I did one of the most indulgent rock stars things I've ever done and sent a helicopter to pick him up! Moby tell Fergal D'Arcy the inside story on that Slane moment. ⬇️ CONGRATS! You've found Monday's Axa Plus rewards card!  Gavin James has a new track and he is absolutely beaming about it. Made with international duo KOLIDESCOPES comprised of musician/producers Johnny Courtidis and Dan Dare (what an amazing name!) I met the lads for pints of Guinness and wrote 3 songs. I've known them a long time, we had been friends for years so it made sense to write some music! It was an amazing three days. Johnny and Dan are the guys behind the Joel Corry smash hit 'Head & Heart' and they've worked the same magic on this new song 'All For You' Gavin told Fergal D'Arcy all about making the tune, chats warmly about his Uncle Paddy that passed away recently, and keeping himself busy. Where else would you find a sounder man in music to chat to? All this and he does the chat in a onesie! [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/02/19142413/GAVIN-JAMES-CUT.mp3"][/audio]

Two smash hits in the last year in Ireland alone – his own track ‘Mood’ and Clean Bandit’s 'Tick Tock'. In the US and worldwide he has had similar success. He has tens of millions of followers across social media and millions of monthly stream listens. And Golden Landis Von Jones is still only 20 years old! 24KGoldn is a superstar in the making. However, he is only in this for one reason. His fans. And his ascent to fame has been strange because he's a world famous rapper without been able to go anywhere!! I see all these numbers but what does that even mean. My music has impacted people in real life. That's what I've been missing out this whole year. Can't go to shows, can't see my fans so to finally meet some meant so much to me! The Fergal Darcy Show chatted to 24KGoldn  about his rapid rise to fame,  brand new single "3, 2, 1" and hugely anticipated debut album plus loads more.   [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/02/19132832/24K-GOLDEN-FULL-PODCAST.mp3"][/audio] Check out the video for brand new track "3,2,1"

Griff is only 19 years old yet she has the world at her feet. Chosen by MTV and the BBC sound poll as one to watch for 2021 she is hot on the heels of Dua Lipa to be the world's hottest female solo electronic pop star. Described by NME as a "Phenomenon" Born to Chinese and Jamaican parents, she began making music by borrowing her brother’s Logic: teaching herself how to produce songs in secret from her classmates. She talks about her identity and it's influence on her music: When I was younger, I often felt like I was never Black enough to be Black or Chinese enough to be Chinese; you're in this weird middle-ground. As I’ve grown older, and actually over lockdown especially, I’ve definitely taken a lot of time to reflect on my identity She tells Fergal D'Arcy about how her life and identity has informed so much of her songs. Griff reflects upon how she tries to tell a story, like how her parents would regularly foster kids growing up and those brothers and sisters influenced her so much. She also tell Fergal about her hero Taylor Swift reaping praise on her. [audio mp3="https://media.radiocms.net/uploads/2021/02/10143542/FD-1002-GRIFF-DONE.mp3"][/audio] Superstar Taylor Swift was quick in her praise for Griff when she heard her and Maisie Peter's take on 'Exile' I’m a huge fan of these two already but seeing them create magic in the studio together just makes me even more excited to hear what they do in the future - absolutely love this, what a gift 🎁🥺🥰 https://t.co/hTTIhuM3pq — Taylor Swift (@taylorswift13) December 17, 2020 Woaaaahh!!
