You wish Ryan Levebvre lived next door. You want to know him, trust me.      He is now the broadcaster that Baseball Hall of Famer Denny Mathews always wanted to hand it off to.  All the Royals asked him to do this year is to bring in former players into the booth and coach them up about how insanely hard this biz can be.   Ryan opens up about Rex Hudler's smaller role, the growth of Jermie Guthrie (and his popcorn crush like podboy) and Ryan's new series on the Royals You Tube channel. It starts with an emotional convo with Eric Hosmer about Yordano Ventura and the World Series team.  Watch it on You Tube.    The season is young and John Sherman's new Crown Center ballpark is the greatest gift to KC baseball since Mr. Ewing Kauffman saved our original, favorite pastime sport. Happy Mother's Day! Today, we celebrate the women who have nurtured, led, and loved us. But today is also a special "one-off" bridge message as we transition from our "Unstoppable Acts" series. In 2013, Pastor Tom traveled to Kenya—from the dense urban slums of Kiberra to the lush mountains above Lake Victoria. In this message, he shares a "hidden chapter" of his journey and how it fundamentally shifted his understanding of God's heart for justice, generosity, and compassion. In this message, we explore: The Power of "Womb-Love": Understanding the Hebrew word rakhum (Compassion) and how God uses a mother's heart to describe His own. The Speaking Stick: A lesson from the Maasai warriors on dignity and giving a voice to the silenced. Does it work? Looking at the 2013 study on how child sponsorship creates a lifelong "Solid Rock" of hope. RESOURCES MENTIONED:

"After struggling with health issues for decades and years of doctors and misdiagnoses, I was finally diagnosed with progressive MS and lupus and the only thing that had happened to me was removing dairy. We started working with plant-based doctors, lifestyle medicine doctors, and working with plant-based and vegan chefs. We created a menu of healthy kid friendly meals. Once you know better, you cannot pretend you don't." What if school could shape not just smarter students, but a more compassionate world? Today, we're joined by Michele Fasnacht, founder of Solid Rock Community School in Florida, the only K–12 school in the U.S. combining a fully plant-based program, on-site chef, and animal sanctuary into everyday learning. After overcoming severe childhood trauma and chronic illness, Michele transformed her life and is now redefining education through empathy, conflict resolution, and conscious living. In this episode, we explore what happens when those values move from theory into practice, and how it's changing students' lives inside and outside the classroom. What we discuss: The inspiration behind Solid Rock Community School and the vision that brought it to life. What makes the environment at Solid Rock unique and how it differs from traditional education settings. Their approach to conflict resolution and how it empowers students to navigate challenges. How the school shapes students' communication skills. Michelle's journey implementing a fully plant-based meal program: the challenges, the pushback, and the breakthroughs. Michelle's personal health transformation after removing dairy from her diet. Why the school includes an on-site animal sanctuary and the powerful lessons it teaches. Pea Ridge Baptist Church with Dan Londeree

What kind of life are you building? Jesus teaches us that everyone who hears His words and acts on them is like a wise person who builds their house on the rock. When the storms come—and they will come—that house stands firm.Throughout Scripture, floods represent God's judgment and the consequences of our choices. But here's the hope: a remnant always survives. Jesus faced the ultimate flood of judgment on the cross and emerged victorious through the resurrection. When we follow Him, we build our lives on the only foundation that can withstand every storm.Your life is built one decision at a time. Are you building on the solid rock of Christ's teachings, or on the shifting sand of your own desires? The foundation you choose today determines whether you'll stand or fall when the floods come. Build wisely. Build on the Rock.

On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we shared the powerful story of what it looks like when you follow God’s prompting wherever He may lead you. For our guest that prompting led to the creation of a human trafficking air rescue mission. He shared how God provided all that he needed even when he had no airplane, no plans and no experience. His story was a powerful reminder to us all of what utter dependance upon God REALLY looks like. As we approach the holiday season we can be forgiven for allowing ourselves to fall into a false sense of spiritual security. But once again, our guest reminded us that Satan and the demons do not take holidays or time off and that spiritual warfare is real business for them. We once again tackled you most challenging questions on this multi-faceted topic with a man who has been in the trenches of this battle and who brings solid, biblically sound advice and experience to guide us a deeper trust and dependance upon God to stand against the enemy. Antisemitism is an ancient evil that has once again taken center stage in the minds and hearts of so many people around the world. Dress in new motivations, it is still the same old lie that led to the Nazi holocaust and so many other tragedies across time. Our guest took us back in time to help us understand more of the roots of this evil and then he addressed how antisemitism is being used to deceive and motivate hatred in the unsuspecting through Islam and the liberal ideology of our day. We shared with you the literal life saving message of hope from a highly respected doctor who told us about a way to reverse the life altering impact of the abortion pill process after it has been started. Our guest shared how this abortion pill reversal treatment has since become a mission to inform anyone considering abortion and to save the lives of preborn children before it is too late. Another week is behind us, but we dare not rest on our laurels when it comes to being vigilant about the influences that we allow to impact our lives. That’s why we continue our open invitation for you to take a seat in our radio classroom as our favorite husband and wife teaching team continue showing us how to use the God’s word to measure again the many, many crooked ideas and deceptive delusions that permeate our world today.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In our season three finale, we tell the full story of Steve Scott's lost records that Larry Norman produced in 1978, but never released. Moving Pictures (and its companion Close Ups) were victims of short-sighted Christian music industry executives and a myriad of bad circumstances after being recorded and they have lived in lore among frustrated record collectors for decades. Now they are close to finally being released. As Larry Norman was dying in 2008 he made a last request of his brother, who goes by Charles Normal, to ensure that the Steve Scott records be released someday. Charles has digitized the original tracks and mixed them for the first time and now he and Steve are raising money on Kickstarter to give the albums a proper release. Steve and Charles join us today to tell the full story and play some of the never-before-published songs. The Steve Scott Kickstarter---Do you have a Christian rock story to tell? Mark Knopfler is a celebrated guitar player and songwriter. And while his voice may not win awards for being pretty, his world-weary story songs fit his oakey-mellow vocals perfectly. Sultans of Swing of Dire Straits eponymous debut in 1978 catapulted Mark and the band to stardom with gold and platinum sales around the world. Though their 1979 follow up also sold well it didn't sell nearly as well as the first. So the band made a couple of changes. David Knopfler, Mark's brother and DS rhythm guitarist, left the band for other pursuits. And instead of recording in The Bahamas, Mark, John Illsley (bass) and Pick Withers (drums) relocated to New York with legendary producer Jimmy Iovine. Jimmy's connection to Bruce Springsteen led to E Street Band pianist Roy Bittan joining the sessions and really giving texture, rhythm and soul to Knopfler's songs. Though the timeless Romeo and Juliet wasn't a hit in the US, it has become a classic in pop culture for romantic scenes. Expresso Love gives Mark a chance to rip a fun solo while sharing the spotlight with Bittan on Tunnel of Love, Solid Rock and classic rock radio staple Skateaway. Though these songs are great on Making Movies, they really shined on the 1984 live album, Alchemy - one we have reviewed and one of The Wolf's very favorites. If you're a Brothers in Arms or Greatest Hits only fan, we think you'll like this one as the piano, the guitar and Mark's lyrics set landscapes and tell the stories of a man trying to make it in the fast-paced world of rock n roll! I'm your host, Dennis Jernigan, and I am so grateful you have joined me for this week's podcast. I'll try to get right to the heart of the matter today. The story behind this song is amazing to me. You'll find out why shortly.  We live in a day and age when amazing things are taking place on a daily basis. Everyday citizens, if they have the time and money, can literally fly into outer space. A person's identity, their image, and their voice and mannerisms can be manipulated in such a way as to make them appear to say and do things they would never do. Even though it gives me chills, this ability of AI, called deep fake, is kind of amazing. And speaking of AI, entire books are being written using artificial intelligence and new uses for AI are seemingly popping up every single day. And I think it is amazing that we live in a world where everyone is connected via the internet and smartphones to such a degree that we can talk with and see anyone we would like to communicate with instantly. The world is indeed amazing. The word ‘amazing' literally means ‘causing great surprise or wonder; astonishing; startlingly impressive.' That is a good thing to experience, yet even good things can be viewed through the filter of the lies of the enemy. Here's an example of what I mean taken from my now life experiences: For far too many years I allowed the lies of the enemy to define me and dictate to me what was amazing. I could see the way others treated me as amazing in a very perverted way. What I mean by that is this: I thought that someone mocking me or physically harming me meant that at least someone was acknowledging me, even if they were insulting me and belittling me. I longed to be known and to know others and that expectation of being put down by others at least made me feel acknowledged. That, my friends, is the depth of depravity my mind had fallen to which is, well, astonishingly sad. That all changed the day I was overwhelmed with the Truth that Jesus Christ had died for me. I was instantly set free from my past but had to walk out the wonderful but difficult journey toward wholeness. In fact, I'm still on that journey. I invite you to join me for today's brief leg of that adventure as I share the story behind my song, “Amazed”. Way back in 2010, I embarked on an adventure that lasted 40 days but continues to affect my life to this day. From May 3 through June 11 I went on a 40 day fast. I needed to reboot my system because I had just gone through a series of traumatic events that left me gutted. The Lord called me to a fast and led me to meditate daily on Psalm 40 and Isaiah 40. He spoke to my heart and told me He would give me a song each day of the fast and that I was to record it that same day. Since then, I put together 4 ten song volumes where you can find all 40 songs. The first ten songs are on the collection called Forty Days and Forty Nights - Songs of Contemplation and Intimacy Vol. 1. This week's episode is the story behind the song “Amazed” which came to me on May 8, 2010 which was day 5 of that fast. When the Lord sent me on this fasting journey, He led me to focus and meditate on Psalm 40 and Isaiah 40 each day. He led me to write a song each day and then record it that very same day. What you are hearing is the original version of each song on the day I actually wrote it. On day 5, He led me to meditate specifically on Psalm 40:3a which says, “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God…” As I began to ponder on what this part of the verse meant to me, I felt led to begin just simply praising God for Who He is. It became very apparent that I was meant to live every area of my life as a conduit of praise to Him. In that moment, I was instantly filled with a sense of wonder and a  very keen awareness that the God of the universe, my Creator, was in the room with me in a very tangible way…and that was amazing! As I began to praise God, I truly was astonished at his presence with me. In that same moment, although I didn't literally see him, I felt the weight of his presence upon my soul. What I was experiencing was the very glory of God in my heart and mind. And that was truly amazing. As I set my mind free to focus on the presence of God there with me, I felt completely surprised at the depth of love He has for me. I stood back in wonder as I thought about the depth of my depravity as opposed to His depth of mercy toward me. I deserved death and hell, but He had mercy on me as demonstrated in Romans 5:8 in the NIV which says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” I a so amazed at the mercy of God. I just am… Even more astonishingly impressive and astonishing was the way He led me to repentance - and continues to do so. He did not belittle me or mock me or reject me as I had experienced as a boy and as a young man. It was His great kindness that led me to repent of my stinkin' thinkin'…and most impressive and astonishing of all? The realization that He has been lovingly pursing me my entire life; That I was the joy set before Him that drove Him to willingly lay down His life on the cross; That His love could reach as far as I could fall, yet that same love would not leave me in the rock bottom depravity my mind had gotten to. If I let my mind go to think about the nature and character of God, I think about things he has created; the beauty of nature; the precision of the universe; the resurrection power of Jesus Christ and it's effect on my life; the fact that when I think about Jesus and fix my eyes on him that I find myself completely transfixed with a childlike wonder at just how amazing our God is…and I cannot help but praise Him. SONG In Luke 9:37-43 in the NIV, we find Jesus coming down from the mountain after His transfiguration. Here's what is says:  37 The next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met him. 38 A man in the crowd called out, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child. 39 A spirit seizes him and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It scarcely ever leaves him and is destroying him. 40 I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they could not." 41 "You unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you and put up with you? Bring your son here." 42 Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father. 43 And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. The recording of this podcast took place some 15 years after that initial 40 day fast and I still continue to find God's grace…His restorative grace…Completely and utterly amazing as I did all those in years ago. And it is my belief that we are living in a very amazing time in history, but that this amazing time in history is far overshadowed by the astonishing, incredible, massive and amazing love of Jesus Christ surrounding us at all times, through any circumstances. Let's live our lives like we believe that. We really do have an amazing God! Thank you for tuning in to The Dennis Jernigan Podcast! Now, go forth and embrace the truth of who your heavenly Father says you are. Dennis Jernigan Forty Days and Forty Nights

Murdaugh Murders Podcast

Less than three years before Mica Francis' body was found in a North Carolina swamp after her alleged suicide, there was another strange death near Solid Rock at Market Common, the Myrtle Beach church that belonged to Mica's husband Pastor JP Miller. That's the death of Chris Skinner, the 41-year-old quadriplegic man who was married to the woman JP was allegedly having an affair with at the time — the same woman JP has routinely been photographed with since Mica's death in April. Chris was found in his wheelchair at the bottom of his neighborhood pool. Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell take a look at Chris' inspiring story of determination and hope — at who he was BEFORE he entered into JP's ecosystem in 2018. They also take a deeper look into his death, the ensuing investigation and the strange coincidences and inconsistencies that exist between his and Mica's cases.  Was Chris at the pool this morning because he was meeting someone to play chess? Or did he go there because he had lost hope? Chris' wife Suzie told police that he wasn't suicidal and she later referred to his death as having been a result of getting too close to the edge of the pool.
