I'm your host, Dennis Jernigan, and I am so grateful you have joined me for this week's podcast. I'll try to get right to the heart of the matter today. The story behind this song is amazing to me. You'll find out why shortly.  We live in a day and age when amazing things are taking place on a daily basis. Everyday citizens, if they have the time and money, can literally fly into outer space. A person's identity, their image, and their voice and mannerisms can be manipulated in such a way as to make them appear to say and do things they would never do. Even though it gives me chills, this ability of AI, called deep fake, is kind of amazing. And speaking of AI, entire books are being written using artificial intelligence and new uses for AI are seemingly popping up every single day. And I think it is amazing that we live in a world where everyone is connected via the internet and smartphones to such a degree that we can talk with and see anyone we would like to communicate with instantly. The world is indeed amazing. The word ‘amazing' literally means ‘causing great surprise or wonder; astonishing; startlingly impressive.' That is a good thing to experience, yet even good things can be viewed through the filter of the lies of the enemy. Here's an example of what I mean taken from my now life experiences: For far too many years I allowed the lies of the enemy to define me and dictate to me what was amazing. I could see the way others treated me as amazing in a very perverted way. What I mean by that is this: I thought that someone mocking me or physically harming me meant that at least someone was acknowledging me, even if they were insulting me and belittling me. I longed to be known and to know others and that expectation of being put down by others at least made me feel acknowledged. That, my friends, is the depth of depravity my mind had fallen to which is, well, astonishingly sad. That all changed the day I was overwhelmed with the Truth that Jesus Christ had died for me. I was instantly set free from my past but had to walk out the wonderful but difficult journey toward wholeness. In fact, I'm still on that journey. I invite you to join me for today's brief leg of that adventure as I share the story behind my song, “Amazed”. Way back in 2010, I embarked on an adventure that lasted 40 days but continues to affect my life to this day. From May 3 through June 11 I went on a 40 day fast. I needed to reboot my system because I had just gone through a series of traumatic events that left me gutted. The Lord called me to a fast and led me to meditate daily on Psalm 40 and Isaiah 40. He spoke to my heart and told me He would give me a song each day of the fast and that I was to record it that same day. Since then, I put together 4 ten song volumes where you can find all 40 songs. The first ten songs are on the collection called Forty Days and Forty Nights - Songs of Contemplation and Intimacy Vol. 1. This week's episode is the story behind the song “Amazed” which came to me on May 8, 2010 which was day 5 of that fast. When the Lord sent me on this fasting journey, He led me to focus and meditate on Psalm 40 and Isaiah 40 each day. He led me to write a song each day and then record it that very same day. What you are hearing is the original version of each song on the day I actually wrote it. On day 5, He led me to meditate specifically on Psalm 40:3a which says, “He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God…” As I began to ponder on what this part of the verse meant to me, I felt led to begin just simply praising God for Who He is. It became very apparent that I was meant to live every area of my life as a conduit of praise to Him. In that moment, I was instantly filled with a sense of wonder and a  very keen awareness that the God of the universe, my Creator, was in the room with me in a very tangible way…and that was amazing! As I began to praise God, I truly was astonished at his presence with me. In that same moment, although I didn't literally see him, I felt the weight of his presence upon my soul. What I was experiencing was the very glory of God in my heart and mind. And that was truly amazing. As I set my mind free to focus on the presence of God there with me, I felt completely surprised at the depth of love He has for me. I stood back in wonder as I thought about the depth of my depravity as opposed to His depth of mercy toward me. I deserved death and hell, but He had mercy on me as demonstrated in Romans 5:8 in the NIV which says, “But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” I a so amazed at the mercy of God. I just am… Even more astonishingly impressive and astonishing was the way He led me to repentance - and continues to do so. He did not belittle me or mock me or reject me as I had experienced as a boy and as a young man. It was His great kindness that led me to repent of my stinkin' thinkin'…and most impressive and astonishing of all? The realization that He has been lovingly pursing me my entire life; That I was the joy set before Him that drove Him to willingly lay down His life on the cross; That His love could reach as far as I could fall, yet that same love would not leave me in the rock bottom depravity my mind had gotten to. If I let my mind go to think about the nature and character of God, I think about things he has created; the beauty of nature; the precision of the universe; the resurrection power of Jesus Christ and it's effect on my life; the fact that when I think about Jesus and fix my eyes on him that I find myself completely transfixed with a childlike wonder at just how amazing our God is…and I cannot help but praise Him. SONG In Luke 9:37-43 in the NIV, we find Jesus coming down from the mountain after His transfiguration. Here's what is says:  37 The next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met him. 38 A man in the crowd called out, "Teacher, I beg you to look at my son, for he is my only child. 39 A spirit seizes him and he suddenly screams; it throws him into convulsions so that he foams at the mouth. It scarcely ever leaves him and is destroying him. 40 I begged your disciples to drive it out, but they could not." 41 "You unbelieving and perverse generation," Jesus replied, "how long shall I stay with you and put up with you? Bring your son here." 42 Even while the boy was coming, the demon threw him to the ground in a convulsion. But Jesus rebuked the impure spirit, healed the boy and gave him back to his father. 43 And they were all amazed at the greatness of God. The recording of this podcast took place some 15 years after that initial 40 day fast and I still continue to find God's grace…His restorative grace…Completely and utterly amazing as I did all those in years ago. And it is my belief that we are living in a very amazing time in history, but that this amazing time in history is far overshadowed by the astonishing, incredible, massive and amazing love of Jesus Christ surrounding us at all times, through any circumstances. Let's live our lives like we believe that. We really do have an amazing God! Thank you for tuning in to The Dennis Jernigan Podcast! The first ten songs are on the collection called Forty Days and Forty Nights - Songs of Contemplation and Intimacy Vol. 1. This week's episode is the story behind the song “Rock of My Life” which came to me on May 6, 2010 which was day 4 of that fast. As soon as I began the fast, I felt God's presence and love for me and my spiritual hunger for more of Him began to surpass my physical hunger. But what the Lord began to reveal to me was often not always pleasant or easy to hear. He revealed to me that I still believed certain lies about my identity; He showed me that I still battled thoughts of being unlovable and of feeling rejected; He pulled back the curtain of my heart and I saw that I still struggled with doubts and that I often reverted to a victim mentality. It felt like I was suddenly on shaky ground. On May 6, 2010, I meditated on Psalm 40:2b which says, “And He set my feet upon a rock making my footsteps firm.” To say I was consumed with what that meant to my soul is an understatement. The sinking sand I had been mired in suddenly began to be replaced by the Solid Rock of my faith in the ever-present presence of my Savior, Jesus Christ. As I poured out my heart to him in honest confession, anxious thoughts began to fall by the wayside; fear began to melt away from the fire of God's massive love for me; doubt was eradicated; I stepped into an even greater awareness of who I am and of whose I am; as I declared the truth of God's word over my own soul, I suddenly found myself firmly planted on the solid rock of Jesus Christ. From that vantage point, I recognized that I had set my eyes on Dennis - on myself - and we always know how that goes. I saw that in my pride there was no room for Jesus, but as I humbled myself and fixed my eyes on Him, even the most hurtful traumas of my life began to go through a whole new phase of healing. Let's take a few minutes and listen to the song and, as we do, let us fix our eyes away from ourselves and onto the solid rock of Jesus Christ. Are you ready? SONG As I have said in the past few episodes, these songs have taken on a whole new meaning for me since my diagnosis of Parkinson's in 2019. But the truth of the matter is that I have discovered the rock solid foundation of faith in Jesus Christ is even more solid and more steadfast than I could ever could have imagined experiencing in this life. Jesus is indeed a steadfast rock…the Rock of My Salvation…and will continue to be so until the day I die - and far beyond. The bottom line? I am not a victim. I am a victor because of the victorious work of Jesus on the cross and because of His victory over sin, death, and the grave. I am full of resurrection power…and so are you, my fellow new creations in Christ. Thank you for tuning in to The Dennis Jernigan Podcast! QUOTES FOR REFLECTION“In times like these you need a SaviorIn times like these you need an anchorBe very sure, be very sureYour anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock! This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the OneThis Rock is Jesus, the only OneBe very sure, be very sureYour anchor holds and grips the Solid Rock!”~Ruth Caye Jones, 1943 “When one's hope is properly set on God, fixed upon His promises and founded upon His Word, that hope does not fail.”~Jay E. Adams “We wait for the Lord;he is our help and shield. For our hearts rejoice in himbecause we trust in his holy name.May your faithful love rest on us, Lord, for we put our hope in you.”~Psalm 33:20-22 (CSB)SERMON PASSAGEHebrews 6:9-20 (CSB) 9 Even though we are speaking this way, dearly loved friends, in your case we are confident of things that are better and that pertain to salvation. 10 For God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you demonstrated for his name by serving the saints—and by continuing to serve them. 11 Now we desire each of you to demonstrate the same diligence for the full assurance of your hope until the end, 12 so that you won't become lazy but will be imitators of those who inherit the promises through faith and perseverance. 13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, since he had no one greater to swear by, he swore by himself: 14 I will indeed bless you, and I will greatly multiply you. 15 And so, after waiting patiently, Abraham obtained the promise. 16 For people swear by something greater than themselves, and for them a confirming oath ends every dispute. 17 Because God wanted to show his unchangeable purpose even more clearly to the heirs of the promise, he guaranteed it with an oath, 18 so that through two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled for refuge might have strong encouragement to seize the hope set before us. 19 We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. 20 Jesus has entered there on our behalf as a forerunner, because he has become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.

Panic is never a solution. In moments of crisis or uncertainty, it is easy to feel overwhelmed and reactive. By cultivating equanimity, we can sidestep panic and instead approach challenges with a level head. This doesn't mean we ignore our feelings but rather that we create a mental framework that allows us to address issues rationally and calmly. Connecting with our inner stillness can lead to clearer thinking and more effective decision-making. All sentient beings fundamentally desire to be happy, healthy, and free from suffering. Despite the diversity of our circumstances, we are united by this common aspiration. This understanding fosters compassion and empathy towards ourselves and others. It reminds us that behind every reaction, there is likely a story of struggle and desire for peace.

The K-12 private school also offers programs like gardening, culinary arts and veterinary education alongside academics. The Zest team met up with Michele in the school office. In our conversation, she explains why she overhauled the school's menu. In this episode, you'll also hear from some Solid Rock students about what they think of the cafeteria food now. Thanks to Louise Krikorian for suggesting this episode. Betrayal in the Pulpit: The Scandal Surrounding John-Paul Miller  A new lawsuit has been filed against South Carolina pastor John-Paul Miller and his father, Reginald Wayne Miller, accusing them of sexual abuse, predatory conduct, and using their church as a shield for misconduct spanning decades. The allegations have gained renewed attention following the tragic suicide of John-Paul's wife, Mica Miller, last spring. According to the lawsuit, in 1998, when Miller was 19, he allegedly sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl at All Nations Church, where his father served as pastor. The complaint states that Miller lured the girl into his father's office before taking her outside to his truck, where the assault allegedly took place. The lawsuit asserts that the Millers carefully crafted an image of religious leadership while privately engaging in abusive behavior. Church leadership was allegedly aware of John-Paul's history of legal troubles, a child born out of wedlock, and a pattern of reckless conduct, yet failed to intervene. The same woman, identified as "Jane Doe," claims that in 2023, she encountered Miller again in Myrtle Beach, where he allegedly assaulted her a second time. When confronted, Miller reportedly attempted to justify his actions by referencing scripture, saying, "No man is without sin and temptation. God understands that." The lawsuit alleges that church leaders neglected their duty to protect members, despite being aware of misconduct. John-Paul Miller has been under scrutiny since his wife, Mica Miller, died by suicide on April 27, 2023. Just two days prior, she had filed for divorce. Her body was discovered with a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Lumber River State Park, North Carolina. Prior to her death, Mica had reported to police that she was being tracked. Investigators later confirmed that John-Paul and a woman he was allegedly involved with were not in Robeson County at the time. Following her death, John-Paul was arrested in November for assault and battery after a confrontation with protesters outside his church, Solid Rock at Common Market. That same month, the FBI searched his Myrtle Beach home, though details of the investigation remain undisclosed. The lawsuit also raises concerns about the financial dealings of the Millers and their ministries. As legal battles escalate and public scrutiny intensifies, John-Paul Miller's once-respected reputation continues to unravel. #MicaMiller #SouthCarolina #ChurchScandal #JusticeForMica Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? Passage: 1 And as he came out of the temple, one of his disciples said to him, “Look, Teacher, what wonderful stones and what wonderful buildings!” 2 And Jesus said to him, “Do you see these great buildings? There will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.” 5 And Jesus began to say to them, “See that no one leads you astray. 6 Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am he!' and they will lead many astray. 7 And when you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. This must take place, but the end is not yet. 8 For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places; there will be famines. These are but the beginning of the birth pains. 31 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. (Mark 13:1-2, 5-8, 31 ESV) Song: Bet All I Have on You (https://open.spotify.com/track/10yGXd0DVrMzz38v1tlKbo?si=598d052a41a94099) by Jessica Ray Langdon and Natalie Taylor Leonhardt, The Solid Rock by Edward Mote and William Batchelder Bradbury Lyrics: There's so much that I don't see But I see You but I see You And there's so much that I don't know But I know You but I know You And there's so much that I don't understand But I have seen Your goodness And it's just enough that I'll Bet all I have on You I bet all I have on You I bet all I have on You I bet all I have on You 'Cause only a fool would find real love And just give it up I bet all I have on You I bet all I have on You I don't have the answers yet But I have You but I have You When I don't know who I can trust I can trust You I can trust You 'Cause I've heard a song that I can't ignore Like a current pulling me toward You It's enough and I'll Jesus You're worth it I bet all I have on You I bet all I have on You I bet all I have on You I bet all I have on You I bet all I have on You My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus' blood and righteousness I dare not trust the sweetest frame But wholly lean on Jesus' name On Christ the solid Rock I stand All other ground is sinking sand All other ground is sinking sand Prayer: This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly. Make these words more than words, and give me the Spirit of Jesus. Amen. -The Book of Common Prayer

For years, Sam Rickman cherished his role as a bassist at Solid Rock Church, where he not only shared his musical talents but also built a strong friendship with Pastor John-Paul Miller and his wife, Mica. The families shared countless moments of fellowship, from complimentary haircuts to collaborative ministry projects. Rickman believed he had found a spiritual home. But that sense of belonging unraveled following Mica's tragic death last spring, leaving behind a shaken church community and a public feud that would pit Rickman against Miller in a bitter legal battle. Rickman's attorney, Regina Ward, revealed to News13 that her client authorized the release of documents outlining his counterclaim against Miller, who filed a $7,500 harassment suit against Rickman in Myrtle Beach Magistrate Court. According to Miller's complaint, Rickman and others involved in the “Justice for Mica” movement have engaged in “persistent harassment,” including public demonstrations that Miller claims interfere with his church and livelihood. “The ‘rallies' are nothing more than poorly organized mobs harassing and stalking [Miller],” the complaint alleges, adding that the demonstrations have damaged Miller's standing within the religious community. Rickman, however, paints a starkly different picture in his counterclaim, alleging that Miller exploited his position as pastor to breach the trust of his congregants. Rickman claims Miller used private information about him and his family in sermons, despite agreeing not to share certain sensitive details. One such sermon was recorded and posted online, causing significant emotional distress, Rickman said. “And as we all know, he liked to record his sermons. And so that was published, and that caused a lot of emotional distress to my client,” Ward told News13. The fallout deepened after Mica's death. Rickman alleges that Miller handled the announcement of her passing with a shocking lack of sensitivity, likening it to “announcing a church picnic.” Miller later described public outcry over the tragedy as “the work of the devil” and assured congregants it would “all blow over in two weeks.” Mica had filed for divorce just two days before her death, and Rickman contends this turmoil was openly discussed by Miller from the pulpit, further eroding trust. As the “Justice for Mica” movement gained traction, Rickman attended his first rally in May, observing from his car rather than joining demonstrators. He would later participate in a June rally, becoming a visible part of the group seeking answers and accountability for Mica's untimely death. Compounding the tension was an incident involving Rickman's child, a student at Solid Rock's Faith First Academy. Rickman alleges Miller manipulated the school's grading system to revoke his child's honor roll recognition just before an awards ceremony. This act, Rickman claims, was intended to inflict emotional pain on his family. The dispute has taken an even more dramatic turn with the FBI's involvement. Agents conducted a search at Miller's home in November, removing items such as computers and external drives. While the nature of the investigation remains unclear, the legal spotlight on Miller continues to grow. “My client believes this frivolous lawsuit is an effort to further intimidate and silence him,” Ward said. “He's going to hold Mr. Miller accountable. He opened the door to this, and he has every right to file a countersuit against him.” Miller and his attorney did not respond to requests for comment. Officials attempted to serve papers at Miller's residence but were unable to do so. The case underscores the turmoil within the Solid Rock Church community, once bound by faith and friendship but now fractured by legal and personal disputes. As the legal proceedings unfold, questions surrounding Mica's death and its impact on the church remain at the forefront of the community's concerns. #JusticeForMica #ChurchScandal #FaithAndBetrayal #FBIInvestigation #LegalBattle #CommunityDivision #ReligiousConflict Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? From the Alex Murdaugh trial's alleged jury tampering and subsequent appeals; investigations into the deaths of Stephen Smith and Mica Miller, examining potential foul play; and the ongoing legal battles surrounding Bowen Turner and Michael Colucci, both facing multiple accusations of serious crimes — we covered a lot of cases and controversies in 2024. Also this year, we added tragic death of Christa Bauer Gilley to our focus, and continued our focus on advocacy for victims' rights reform, specifically concerning coercive control. On this special episode of True Sunlight, the team of journalists looks back on the madness in the South Carolina Justice System, plus another shocking update in the Myrtle Beach church world related to JP Miller and Solid Rock.  With our new billboards around the state and our coverage seeking answers, we hope to shake loose information in Stephen smiths case and Sandy hopes to hear back from SLED early in 2025. We are also actively seeking partners to create a new event in July that will celebrate Stephen Smith's life and draw attention to the 10 years that have passed without justice since his death. Newly released 911 calls have shed light on the final, harrowing weeks of Mica Francis Miller's life, painting a chilling portrait of a woman desperately fighting for safety and justice. The calls, spanning from February to April 2024, reveal a pattern of escalating abuse and control allegedly perpetrated by her estranged husband, John-Paul Miller, a prominent pastor in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This fresh evidence—along with a recent FBI search of Miller's home—has reignited national attention on Mica's tragic death and the systemic failures that may have contributed to it. On April 27, 2024, Mica's body was discovered in a remote swampy area of Lumber River State Park in North Carolina. She had traveled to the location earlier that day after purchasing a gun from Dick's Pawn Shop in Myrtle Beach. Her death was officially ruled a suicide by investigators, but the circumstances surrounding it—including allegations of abuse, harassment, and coercive control—have fueled widespread speculation about the role her estranged husband may have played in her final days. Less than 48 hours before her death, Mica served John-Paul Miller with divorce papers. Court filings detail a history of alleged abuse, including physical violence, tracking devices secretly placed on her vehicle, and attempts to control her finances and identity. These allegations are echoed in the 14 calls Mica placed to law enforcement between February 7 and April 15, each one a plea for help that went largely unanswered. One of the most haunting calls came on February 15, when Mica contacted Horry County dispatchers to report that her husband was in a manic state and posed a danger to her and others. She described John-Paul's erratic behavior and expressed fear that he might use guns purchased in her name to commit violence. Despite her detailed account, no immediate action was taken against him. Mica's struggles with the legal system began earlier that month when John-Paul initiated an involuntary mental health commitment against her, claiming she suffered from bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. While Mica was hospitalized, she alleged that John-Paul stole her car, laptop, and other belongings. When she tried to report the theft to police, she was told it was a civil matter because the items were considered marital property. This lack of intervention only emboldened her estranged husband, according to friends and family. The evidence of abuse mounted as the weeks went on. In March, Mica reported finding multiple tracking devices on her vehicles, leading her to believe she was being monitored. One device was discovered the day before a critical court hearing, raising suspicions that John-Paul was trying to intimidate her or interfere with her legal proceedings. Surveillance footage from the courthouse failed to identify who placed the device, leaving Mica without proof but with deepening fear. By April 15, Mica made her final call to police about a tracking device, marking the end of her documented pleas for help. Twelve days later, she was dead. In the immediate aftermath of her death, John-Paul Miller's behavior raised further questions. On April 28, less than 12 hours after being notified of Mica's passing, he delivered a sermon at his church, Solid Rock, where he instructed congregants not to discuss her death. Days later, he attempted to gain access to the apartment where Mica had been staying, prompting a 911 call from her roommate, who reported a suspected burglary. Police turned him away, but his actions continued to draw scrutiny. The FBI's recent search of John-Paul's Horry County home has added a new layer of intrigue to the case. While the agency has not disclosed the specific focus of its investigation, many speculate it could be tied to either Mica's death or alleged financial improprieties involving Solid Rock Church and its affiliated organizations. The church has since shuttered, but questions about its operations and leadership remain unanswered. One particularly disturbing detail from the newly released reports involves an alleged strangulation incident. According to a dispatch record, Mica told police that John-Paul had choked her weeks before her death. Advocates for domestic violence victims point to this incident as a glaring example of the systemic failures that left Mica vulnerable. South Carolina, notably, is the only state in the country without a standalone law addressing strangulation as a criminal offense—a legislative gap that experts say increases the risk of fatal violence in abusive relationships. The calls for accountability are growing louder. Lawmakers have introduced a bill that would classify strangulation as a standalone crime, a move inspired in part by cases like Mica's. Advocates hope the legislation will prevent future tragedies by giving law enforcement stronger tools to intervene in domestic violence situations. As the investigation into Mica's death continues, her story has become a rallying cry for change. It is a sobering reminder of the dangers faced by victims of coercive control and the urgent need for systemic reform. For now, the questions linger: Could more have been done to protect Mica? And will the truth about her death ever fully come to light? The nation watches as the pieces of this puzzle slowly come together, each revelation a stark indictment of the failures that led to Mica's untimely death. The hope is that her legacy will inspire action, ensuring that her cries for help were not in vain. Want to listen to ALL of our podcasts AD-FREE? The Mica Francis case takes another turn as Solid Rock moves to "The Rate Hole". Questions continue to be raised about what Myrtle Beach Pastor JP Miller knew about his estranged wife's death on the night her body was found in a North Carolina swamp … and when he knew it. Less than three years before Mica Francis' body was found in a North Carolina swamp after her alleged suicide, there was another strange death near Solid Rock at Market Common, the Myrtle Beach church that belonged to Mica's husband Pastor JP Miller. That's the death of Chris Skinner, the 41-year-old quadriplegic man who was married to the woman JP was allegedly having an affair with at the time — the same woman JP has routinely been photographed with since Mica's death in April. Chris was found in his wheelchair at the bottom of his neighborhood pool. Investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell take a look at Chris' inspiring story of determination and hope — at who he was BEFORE he entered into JP's ecosystem in 2018. They also take a deeper look into his death, the ensuing investigation and the strange coincidences and inconsistencies that exist between his and Mica's cases.  Was Chris at the pool this morning because he was meeting someone to play chess? Or did he go there because he had lost hope? Chris' wife Suzie told police that he wasn't suicidal and she later referred to his death as having been a result of getting too close to the edge of the pool. But that's not what surveillance footage shows. And what role did JP's alleged relationship with Suzie play in Chris' death and Mica's desire to divorce JP?  JP and Suzie have reportedly denied having an affair. And JP has denied any and all allegations related to Mica's death and her allegations of coercive control abuse during their marriage.  Also on the show, alleged Alex Murdaugh co-conspirator Russell Laffitte is out of prison and home for the holidays and what will it take for courts to take women seriously when they ask for restraining orders against the men they fear? Thrice accused rapist Bowen Turner is getting out of prison on Halloween, and in this episode, journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell warn the women of South Carolina while explaining who is responsible for the systemic failure that led to Turner's swift release.  Did Assistant Solicitor Kevin Hope fail when he agreed to the plea sentence for Turner's resisting arrest charge? Did Bowen change? How is Bowen Turner getting out of prison?  This wildly important episode focuses on the Bowen Turner case, highlighting a series of alleged failures within the South Carolina justice system that allowed a man accused of multiple rapes to be released from prison AGAIN. We also explore similar instances of alleged bias in the justice system, specifically towards men from privileged backgrounds, and compare Turner's treatment to other, often less privileged, individuals involved in confrontations with law enforcement. We also critique the use of the Youthful Offender Act (YOA) in Turner's case, questioning its applicability given the seriousness of the charges and the apparent lack of rehabilitation effort on Turner's part…. The team also sheds light on the most recent news on Myrtle Beach pastor JP Miller and Solid Rock church in their rebranding efforts after Mica Francis' death.  Episode Resources 'Brock Turner released from jail' - CNN 'What happened to US low-cost carrier AirTran Airways?' - Simple Flying  Youthful Offenders Act Code of Law Dash Cam: Thrice Accused Rapist Bowen Turner Arrested AGAIN After DUI Crash True Sunlight 67 Episode GoFundMe for Christa Bauer Gilley Women's Healthcare in Texas Hilton Head Man Sentenced to 10 Years For Stealing Purse Man Sentenced in Lexington County For Burglary Stay Tuned, Stay Pesky and Stay in the Sunlight...☀️ Join Luna Shark Premium today at Lunashark.Supercast.com. With so many eyes turned to the Middle East, it is important that we not forget the real and prominent threat of China to our nation. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we once again drew on the experience and knowledge of a respected Washington D.C. columnist and expert on national security issues to get a clear picture of the ongoing push of that nation toward world domination. He addressed the new scandal of a Chinese spy discovered in the office of mayor of New York, how China is using tech to target state and local governments and the dangers of the increased politicization of the C.I.A.. One of the great joys of childhood is watching a rubber ball bounce because it doesn’t spring up only once when you throw it, it does it again and again and again! Our guest shared how she learned to “bounce” back from the dark times in her life and offered a roadmap that uses biblical wisdom to teach us how to transform our lives and create real, grounded resilience. Make no mistake about it China under President XI has one goal- to destroy America and unseat it as the world’s #1 superpower. But this is no idle threat. Our guest explained what China’s “Red Plan” is and how we are seeing it unfold on several fronts all around us like how China purposely hid the truth about COVID turning a national medical emergency into the deaths of thousands around the world, China’s relationship with Russia and Xi’s buildup of his military forces and China’s use of America’s southern border to push the deadly addictive drug fentanyl in our nation. We told you about Amendment 3 in Missouri and why its defeat is crucial to the ongoing fight to protect the unborn in that state. And it’s time to go back to the theatres for a new chapter in one of the most popular Christian film series. There has never been a time when believers need to understand what’s going on in the world through the lens of God’s word more than today and that’s why our husband and wife team continues to guide us in understanding how to use His straight stick of truth as we measure the flood of news and events that hit each of us every day.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

After Monday's settlement was announced between Myrtle Beach Pastor JP Miller and the family of his estranged wife, Mica Francis, investigative journalists Mandy Matney and Liz Farrell take a look at what led up to this moment. For the past two weeks, JP Miller has gone on a media tour … and when that tour didn't seem to get the reaction he wanted out of the public, he appears to have made a decision: It's time to post the recording from the night of March 11, when JP discovered that Mica was with another man. And not just that! As family and friends hold a beachside service for Mica Miller, John Paul Miller delivers a eulogy for his estranged wife at Solid Rock at Market Common. Miller seems to cry as he talks about how he tried to raise Mica from the dead. He claims he laid down with his wife about 4 times and when he took a dog tag necklace Mica had given him to the mall to get it fixed, he saw a woman wearing "Mica's dress" with the same tattoo and hair style, he calls out "Mica!" but it was her sister, thought he raised Mica from the dead.  Since the first days of the investigation into Miller's death, the Robeson County Sheriff's Office has been in contact with the FBI and the United States Attorney's Office for assistance. Based on information gathered during the investigation and jurisdiction reasons, the Sheriff's office has now requested assistance from both agencies.
