In this episode, Heather shares the long-awaited update to one of the biggest challenges she's faced in business: a nearly year-long sales tax audit. Joined by Nicole Begley, she reflects on the emotional toll of living with uncertainty, the lessons learned through the process, and how facing her worst-case scenario ultimately made her stronger. If you've ever been overwhelmed by circumstances outside your control, this episode will remind you that resilience is built one challenge at a time. Key Takeaways: Your worst-case scenario loses its power once you've lived through it. Fear often fades when you realize you're capable of handling difficult situations. Uncertainty is often harder than the circumstance itself. Learning to manage your mind during the unknown is a powerful business skill. Resilience is built through experience. Every challenge expands your ability to navigate future obstacles. Your thoughts determine how you experience adversity. Mindset doesn't remove problems—it changes how you respond to them. You don't have to control everything to move forward. Self-trust grows when you learn to function without complete certainty. Business challenges are opportunities for growth. Difficult seasons often strengthen your leadership and decision-making. Preparation and professionalism matter. Keeping accurate records and seeking expert guidance gives you confidence when challenges arise. You are more resourceful than you realize. Even in overwhelming situations, you'll find solutions one step at a time. Every setback teaches something valuable. What feels frustrating today may become one of your greatest lessons tomorrow. You can come out stronger on the other side. Sometimes the greatest transformation happens after the hardest season. What if the thing you're most afraid of is the very thing that will make you stronger? This isn't just a story about a tax audit—it's a masterclass in resilience. If you're carrying the weight of uncertainty, this conversation will give you hope. Press play and discover what happens when you stop fearing the worst… and start trusting yourself. There is no way to spin this, not that everyone won't try. The June employment report did not just come in weak or just miss expectations. It wasn't a little cooling after a decent stretch. No — the June jobs report strongly suggests the worst-case payback for the labor market is now unfolding.Eurodollar University's Money & Macro Analysis--------------------------------------------------------------------------------Learn more about Augusta Precious Metals and what they have to offer - including physical gold for IRA accounts - by going to: https://EurodollarGold.com or text EURO to 35052. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Webinar June 2026: Why Smart Investors Keep Missing Every Major Economic Turning PointIt isn't that they're buying the wrong assets. The AI revolution keeps delivering exactly the future nobody asked for. A low-skill hacker used Claude Code and Codex to compromise fourteen companies with prompts so vague they could've been written by your uncle trying to reset his AOL password. Ford, meanwhile, spent millions trying to automate engineering before sheepishly rehiring the graybeards who actually know how cars work. Brown University discovered what happens when half your class outsources economics homework to ChatGPT, Meta ran out of AI compute after borrowing Google's, Oracle is warning investors that the AI data-center bubble could implode for approximately every reason imaginable, and contractors hired to improve AI models are secretly using AI to generate the training data. Congratulations, everyone: we've successfully invented photocopying a photocopy until all that's left is gray mush. The collateral damage keeps piling up. Volkswagen is reportedly preparing to slash another 100,000 jobs, Hyundai workers are threatening to strike before Boston Dynamics' humanoid robots take theirs, California has launched an AI layoff tracker because somebody figured we'd better start counting, and the "almost homeless" subreddit is becoming one of the bleakest economic indicators on the internet. Tesla quietly settles another fatal Full Self-Driving lawsuit, Australia discovers teenagers can outsmart age verification by clicking "Yes, I'm 18," Amazon is getting sued Down Under for making ad-free Prime customers pay more to stay ad-free, and prediction markets continue insisting they're sophisticated financial instruments rather than gambling with better branding. Sure, and Beanie Babies were an asset class.Meanwhile, the AI infrastructure gold rush has become lucrative for everyone, including organized cargo thieves stealing millions in data-center equipment. NASA is attempting a robotic rescue mission worthy of a Saturday morning cartoon, astronomers are begging humanity to stop filling the night sky with satellites before we pave over the universe with orbital billboards, and Meta has discovered yet another way to charge people a subscription for hardware they already bought. In Media Candy, Sugar keeps delivering, Bodkin is worth your time, I Will Find You absolutely is not, and Kobo quietly lands one on Amazon by integrating StoryGraph while Kindle owners get AI book summaries they didn't ask for. Sometimes the future feels like science fiction. This week it feels like someone accidentally trained the simulation on late-stage capitalism and never bothered to check the output.Sponsors:StoryBlocks - For a limited time, they're offering 15% off any annual plan at storyblocks.com/gogPrivate Internet Access - Go to GOG.Show/vpn and sign up today. You know this feeling. The heaviness in your chest before making a decision. The way your mind rehearses worst-case scenarios on repeat until you're exhausted before the day even begins. The paralysis that keeps you in situations you've outgrown — not because they're good, but because they're known. And the unknown? The unknown feels like falling…..You call it anxiety. You call it overthinking. You call it “being careful.”But beneath all of those words is something older, something more primal: Your fear circuit — an alarm system in your brain that was designed to keep you alive. And it has been working overtime. Not because the danger is real. But because somewhere in your past, your nervous system learned that change itself is the threat.Let me tell you how this works.Your brain has a vital mechanism called the amygdala — a small, almond-shaped region that scans for threat constantly. When it detects danger, it floods your body with cortisol and adrenaline. If the threat is real and immediate — a car swerving toward you, a person attacking you — this system saves your life. But also…..It sharpens your focus. It mobilizes your muscles. It makes you faster, sharper, more capable. If the threat is not immediate but your amygdala was trained in an environment where safety was never guaranteed, the alarm never fully turns off.Your brain begins treating everything unfamiliar as dangerous. New opportunities.New relationships. New versions of yourself. And unconscious vows form to reinforce the pattern: I must avoid risks at all costs. It's not safe to step outside my comfort zone. My fears define me.These aren't weaknesses. These are the architecture your psyche built to survive an environment that taught you early: Change means loss. Vulnerability means harm. The unknown cannot be trusted.Your younger self needed these vows. They were brilliant. But you are not surviving anymore. You are allowed to live. Here's the part that makes this so exhausting: When your fear circuit is chronically activated, your prefrontal cortex — the part of your brain responsible for logic, perspective, and decision-making — gets overridden. You can't think your way out of it. Because the part of your brain that thinks clearly is being drowned out by the part that is screaming danger. If you've ever wondered why you “know” something is irrational but still can't stop feeling afraid, this is why.The amygdala doesn't care about logic. It cares about survival. And if your history taught it that new things hurt, it will keep you locked in the known — even if the known is slowly killing you.But here's what changes everything: You can retrain this system. Not by ignoring fear. Not by forcing yourself to “just be brave.” But by creating enough present-moment safety that your amygdala begins to learn a new pattern. When fear grips you and you respond with presence — with a hand on your chest, with a grounding breath, with a quiet acknowledgment that you are safe right now — you are teaching your nervous system the difference between past danger and present moment. You cannot think your way out of a feeling that didn't originate in your thinking brain. You are not dismissing the fear. You are informing your amygdala that this moment — this present moment — is not the old danger.I created an audio journey to help you do exactly this.

For the first time in this cycle, the money going out of major private credit vehicles has surpassed the money coming in. That is the headline, how private credit machine is now facing sustained investor outflows. Stage 2. And here's the other big part of that – these net outflows are indeed forcing asset sales onto an industry that was never really built for this. That means we're already deeper into Stage 2 than most people would think. Ciara Parsons thought she was just anxious, overly cautious, or a little superstitious. But underneath all of it was OCD — constantly forcing her to imagine every possible thing that could go wrong and making her feel responsible for preventing it. Whether it was flying on planes, going on tour, becoming a mother, or simply leaving the house, her brain treated every situation like a potential disaster waiting to happen. In this interview, Ciara opens up about what it was like living inside that constant loop of fear, rituals, and “what if” thinking, and how OCD slowly took over more and more of her life. 0:00 - Well, that's a wrap. It's another early exit for the Nuggets. This year, it was an even earlier exit than last year! So, now that the whole season is in the books, let's do an autopsy all morning long. What the hell happened??17:38 - This is the actual worst case scenario for the Nuggets. You made all these moves in the offseason to build what we ALL SAID was the best roster in franchise history (on paper). And it was WORST THAN LAST YEAR. So now, you have to make moves. You can't run it back. But what moves can you make? How far do you want to go while you're still in the Jokic Window?33:38 - Chris Finch fabricated a fake narrative that isn't there in order to rally his team. And guess what? Fake or not, it worked. As a coach, you need to find motivation and a rallying cry anywhere you can. And he found it.
Host of 'Nothing Personal' and former MLB president David Samson (1:02) joins Jeff Blair and Kevin Barker to chat about seeing a team with high expectations into the new year start on a losing skid, if he's surprised by the managerial firings of Alex Cora and Rob Thomson, why it's better to make the change early, Don Mattingly stepping into an interim role with the Philadelphia Phillies, which teams have a bigger issue between the Red Sox, Phillies and New York Mets, and when Blue Jays fans should start to panic. Then, Red Sox analyst, former closer with Boston and Philly, Jonathan Papelbon (34:36) joins the guys to weigh in on which market was the toughest to play for, if Chad Tracy has a chance to get his interim managerial tag removed, and how hard it is to lose your closer job.
