Durant el temps que ha passat entre el primer àlbum, ‘El naixement' (Halley Records, 2021), i aquesta nova proposta, Valèria Núñez Saurí ha tret dos EP's, (Bocaterrossa (2023) i 'POST-MULLET' (2024), ha treballat com a cambrera a l'Heliogàbal i ha viscut a Vilafranca del Penedès, entre moltes altres peripècies que l'han carregat de motius per a un nou treball d'estudi. Atmosfèric, casolà, intimista, urbà i de butxaca. ‘mai vista trista' és un joc de paraules que posa de manifest l'ambivalència entre la vista, el sentit de la visió, i ser vista pels altres, i ens parla de la importància que Ven'nus dona a la seva mirada per mantenir-se fidel a si mateixa. L'àlbum transita entre el pop, l'indie experimental i l'electrònica, però també té un component autoral a l'estil d'Oklou, tal i com ella mateixa reconeixerà durant l'entrevista. Polifacètica i espontània, la Valèria no vol ser la noia trista de Catalunya, com alguns l'han volgut definir, i per això es llança a explorar nous registres i versions de si mateixa, que connecten amb l'esperit irònic i lúdic amb el qual va iniciar una carrera artística que l'ha portat a conèixer a fons el funcionament de la indústria musical i el perill de deixar-se encasellar per les etiquetes. XOXO SQ WEBLOG 001 Basically, I found a blog in the woods under a log covered in iridescent mushrooms. I ate the whole log and suddenly a dot matrix printout emerged from my mouth containing a story from my memory sack (look it up). This is the first one: It was the late 90s, and my friend group - Saur, Sarn, and Sowle - had all moved to California to pursue their Hollywood dreams. I think I stayed behind because my name just didn't quite match. Oh well. I was still in Madison going to school, but I'd go out to visit once or twice a year and spend a couple weeks crashing on their couch. One time Sarn and I were playing frisbee on the beach in Santa Monica and we noticed two girls struggling in the waves. We looked to the lifeguard who was already headed in after somebody else. He and Sarn nodded at each other knowingly. We ran into the water in slow motion like Baywatch, but it was just because we were slow. Sarn pulled one of them in while the other tried to drown me. Then he came back and saved us. I mean, I gave her something to do while she waited for him, but it was mostly him. We got to shore and as we crawled out of the ocean (like our ancestors), they said nothing to us as, much like the undertow had done, their boyfriends came and swept them away. Sarn always said that the lifeguard looked over and gave him a proud nod to acknowledge our incredible deed, but I think he was probably just making sure we were going to make it. Sarn died recently in his sleep. His heart just couldn't take this harsh place. And I'm not sure what to take from this sudden Sarn-shaped hole in spacetime, but I'm going to try to think about how we can rescue each other a little more while we're here. I bet sometimes these will be funnier. Be excellent to each other. END OF TRANSMISSION
