The Junkies return to Phoenix Fan Fusion! This year, Nicole and Shauna hosted a panel about streaming or network television shows that were canceled too soon (looking at you, Jessica Jones!) and discuss the shows they - and the audience - miss the most, and whether it's even worth it to get invested in new programs any more. Find out if any of your beloved but prematurely canceled shows made our list! We have a Patreon! To support our podcast and get access to exclusive content, click here. Of was The Matrix altijd al overroepen?

In this week's episode, we welcome Anita back to the bridge and set sail on the USS Radical Empathy for a heist adventure for the ages! We dig into the effervescent appeal of Ocean's 8, while sparing a wink for that queer subtext we love. Anita has questions about why Rihanna's character doesn't vape in this year our Lord 2018, but before she gets any resolution on the issue we moved on to the feature-length series finale of the cult favorite, Sens8. We get into the show's celebration of alternative relationship structures, shared love and connection, and those patented Wachowski action scenes. Art and Loann are talking about some summer watches and reads. Loann is relieved that Sense8 will have a life beyond the cliffhanger ending of this most recent season, while Art thrills to the women of GLOW - the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling. We talk about how shows and movies deal with the immediate aftermath of the apocalypse as Loann chats about the third season of Fear the Walking Dead and Art contrasts and compares that with the recent film It Comes at Night. And lastly, Art and Loann talk about the books they've been reading this summer. Things discussed in this episode: Sens8 (Netflix series) Sens8 To Receive a Two Hour Finale Special on Netflix - Variety GLOW (Netflix Series) G.L.O.W. - The Story of the Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling (Documentary) Fear the Walking Dead It Comes at Night The Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer: Book 1 Annihilation Book 2 Authority Book 3 Acceptance Before the Fall by Noah Hawley The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
You awaken with your guide staring down at you nervously, as she holds a rope.... This is already weirder than it needs to be. Throwing Netflix into lava so it will be more like Darth Vader and bring back Sens8. Not loving the Wonder Woman movie and why that's okay. Also Hollywood Godzilla, probably still not as derpy as Shin Godzilla, but we all get to say Godzilla few more times, so that's a plus. Let's Roll, Player 2.
It's a mild winter here in, uh, Earth, but not warm enough to stop us from hibernating for two months instead of uploading this episode! Weird! First: In this culture club episode, George and Peter are into Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans. Nathan is sleep-deprived but manages to make words about Humans and Sens8. Next: the first half of the current season of Doctor Who! Pacing issues! Sonic sunglasses! Two-part arcs! Clara's last name! It's Barton, we're pretty sure. Then: One-Punch Man! And: John Carpenter's Apocalypse Trilogy: The Thing, Prince of Darkness, and In The Mouth of Madness. Also: Cigarette Burns, John Carpenter's episode of Masters of Horror. AND THEN: Our impressions of Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens! From...six weeks before it came out! Revel in our inaccurate guesses, you with perfect vision of the immediate past, which to us at the time was the future. Also, we talk about the correct order in which to show the Star Wars movies to your kids. NEXT TIME: We finally discuss Kim Stanley Robinson's Aurora, with a special guest host!
