Have you ever realized you were living the life someone else imagined for you?Andrew Mitch did everything right on paper. He followed the rules, earned the degrees, and chased approval until the weight of it all became too heavy to carry. When he finally walked away from the life others expected, he found the beginning of his own. What unfolded next was unexpected. A stranger at a restaurant table looked at him through tears and said, “Whatever you have, the world needs to hear it now.” That moment shifted everything. It was the reminder that his voice mattered, and that he no longer needed permission to use it. This is a story about leaving certainty for something more alive. About learning to be seen, to create honestly, and to trust that your real self is enough.Take your time with this one. It is tender and real. What You’ll Hear The quiet pressure of chasing someone else’s version of success How leaving a PhD program became an act of self-trust The beauty of being seen by a stranger who changed everything The tension between faith, identity, and authenticity Learning to stop asking for permission to create What it means to live unapologetically yourself Guest Bio From small-town Ohio to Nashville, Andrew Mitch is making waves in country-pop with raw emotion, personal truth, and storytelling. His breakout single “all in my head” went viral, crowdfunded his debut album, and earned features from CMA, CMT, GLAAD, and more. With millions of views, 30K+ followers, and praise from artists like Carly Pearce and Ingrid Andress, Andrew has since released songs like "back home boy" (featured on Nashville's very own WSMV4) and "unapologetic." He continues to prove there’s power in being unapologetically yourself. Connect with Andrew: https://www.andrewmitchmusic.com/ Listen at www.thelifeshiftpodcast.com/follow. For the last two decades, Debra Messing — the star of early 2000's hit Will & Grace — has been something of a liberal Hollywood icon, courting an adoring gay audience and getting into public feuds with Donald Trump. More recently, she's become the face of Liberal Zionism, an ideology which believes in human rights in the US while supporting Israel's flagrant violation of them in Gaza. Sound confusing? The contradictions inherent to Liberal Zionism are too big for anyone to hold onto — even, it turns out, the winner of a GLAAD award. Listen to bonus episodes on Patreon! Thanks to today's sponsors! When the State of Texas denied funding for the Gay Softball World Series, the county which includes the city of Houston, contributed almost a half a million dollars to host the event. But first, gay obsessed Tucker Carlson apparently has super gaydar and has concluded that Pete Buttigieg is a “fake gay”. He would like to ask Mayor Pete some specific gay sex questions to prove his point. We can't wait. Finally, Kids in The Hall actor, Scott Thompson, says GLAAD should be eliminated. While working on a special for Amazon Prime, GLAAD censored and deleted all 14 sketches from his gay barfly character, Buddy Cole. Programledare och avsnittsmakare: Vendela LundbergProducent: Patrick StaneliusLjudmix: Fredrik NilssonI programmet hörs ljudklipp från: MGM, ABC, The David Frost Tapes, HBO Max Elizabeth Taylor The Lost Tapes, Around the world of Mike Todd, HBOs Bright Lights, The making of Cleopatra, 60 minutes, The Warners - a candidates lifestyle, Mavis on 4, Saturday Night Live, The Larry King Show, The Oprah Winfrey Show och GLAAD.

Raina and Rowan sit down to talk about why this might be, and what we can do to change it. The GLAAD Studio Responsibility Index (SRI) maps the quantity, quality and diversity of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ) characters in films released by ten major motion picture studios during the 2024 calendar year. GLAAD researched films released by A24, Amazon Studios, Apple TV+, Lionsgate, NBCUniversal, Netflix, Paramount Global, Sony, The Walt Disney Studios, Warner Bros. Discovery, and their subsidiaries. With $100M+ in revenue, instructors trained like pop stars, and a tightly curated sense of belonging (read: exclusivity), SoulCycle pedaled its way into cultural obsession—and, depending on who you ask, cult status. Jess, a former SoulCycle instructor and host of the GLAAD-nominated Finding Fire Island and new docu-podcast Cult of Body & Soul, joins us to unpack the seductive psychology of the SoulCycle experience: from spiritual monologues to the sweaty transference happening mid-sprint. We talk about limerence, manipulation, performance, and yes, the merch. Whether you're a front-row devotee or just cult-curious, this ride gets personal. LGBTQ Americans live in a paradox. On one hand we have a growing population of LGBTQ Americans, a group whose rights are codified nationally with a supermajority of Americans supportive of life outside the heteronormative box, and yet we're seeing a rising level of hate and extremism against that same community and anyone - be they individuals or corporations - who stand up as public allies. How can that be in 2025? Today we talk to Sarah Kate Ellis, President and CEO of GLAAD, about what to do, where we go from here and the potential of a moment like this. MuggleMillennial.Etsy.com On this week's episode, listen during Chapter-by-Chapter as the MuggleCasters discuss Harry juggling TWO dates in Hogsmeade. One which may have been doomed from the start (with Cho), and another which likely changes the course of Wizarding history (with Rita). Andrew, Eric, Laura, Micah, and Slug Club guest Katie dig in, because it's time for Chapter 25 of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix. Welcome Slug Club member, Katie! The hosts wish to reassert their disavowal of J.K. Rowling for her role in making women less safe in the U.K. Please visit GLAAD's amazing page for links including FAQs, resources, and tips for allies. Chapter-by-Chapter continues with Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Chapter 25: The Beetle at Bay. MuggleCast last discussed this chapter on Episode 462! Harry's feelings toward his fellow students in light of the Azkaban breakout headlines have us once more feeling like we are living in the books today. The Ministry's control of information and issuance of propaganda, the extent which is confirmed in this chapter, is massive but not perfect. Some who look deeper are beginning to see the cracks in the facade. Umbridge's power grabs are becoming unenforceable. The hosts discuss how her main goal appears to be to frighten and dissuade dissenters, even among the staff. Harry and students are impressed by Neville's recent hard work in the D.A. This reminds us about when we made the "Neville Gets Swole" Spotify playlist, perfect for your summertime runs and workouts! Is Hermione single-handedly changing the course of the Wizarding world? We think so. Is there anything the students can/should be doing about Hagrid and his probation? Or is his behavior just too weird, and the students too buried in coursework? Ron has a fair idea, but Hermione shuts him down cold. We hold a memorial service for Ron's strategical aptitude subplot from Book 1. In what ways was "Madame Puddifoot's" NOT the perfect Valentine's spot, and whose fault is it that Harry and Cho's date is a disaster? Was it doomed from the start? Is Rita Skeeter looking for redemption, or just some hot goss? Odds & Ends asks why Ron, Fred or George do not seem to know about Antonin Dolohov's connection with their uncles, nor do they mention it. Most #RealTalk moment of the week? Hosts weigh in. Lynx Line: we asked our Patrons to submit a one-sentence headline sure to grab all of the attention. Quizzitch: What prison was the site of the largest jailbreak in British history - when 38 inmates, members of the Irish Republican Army, overpowered guards in 1983? Learn more about your ad choices. Today on the Matt Walsh Show, a pop star declares that every parent she knows is miserable and living in hell. This is part of a broader agenda to convince women to forgo marriage and family life. We'll discuss. Also, there were supposedly 200 protests at Tesla dealerships across the country over the weekend. This is obviously not organic or grassroots. So who is funding all of this, exactly? And the GLAAD awards happened over the weekend, celebrating anyone in the media or Hollywood who helped to push the LGBT agenda last year—which is basically all of them.
