On the 77th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, guitarist and founder of the band Restayned, Tony Musallam, review the 1989 hair metal classic by Motley Crue "Dr. Feelgood." By the end of the 1980's Motley Crue was near the mountain top of hair metal bands. Dr. Feelgood cemented their reign with Nikki Sixx's lyrics, Mick Mars' guitar riffs, good looking platinum blond Vince Neil as the frontman and the heavy drums of the crazy Tommy Lee. The album contained 5 hit singles and videos that were on MTV non-stop, include the title track, Kickstart My Heart, Without You, Same Ol' Situation (S.O.S.) and Don't Go Away Mad (Just Go Away). Dr. Feelgood was their 5th studio album was produced by the great Bob Rock. It made it to #1 on the US Billboard charts and eventually went 6 times platinum. The album signaled the end of a decade, hair metal and Motley Crue for a time. This was the Zeus' pick. So be wary of the terror in Tinseltown or it would leave you out of breath like someone we know! Nevermind changed everything. Music, fashion, pop culture and Nirvana lead singer, guitar player and songwriter, Kurt Cobain became the voice of a generation. The band included underrated bassist Krist Novoselic and new hard hitting drummer and future leader of the Foo Fighters, Dave Grohl. Nevermind was Nirvana's 2nd studio album was produced by Butch Vig. It made it to #1 on Billboard album charts and eventually went 13 times platinum and sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. The album broke the grunge movement and was partially responsible for killing "hair metal." On the 75th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom & Zeus welcome back special guest, Podcaster, Comic, Musician and Shout It Out Loudcast Hall Of Famer, Izzy Presley to review the 1986 hard rock landscape changing album "5150" from Van Halen. Van Halen was coming off their diamond selling album, 1984, when the band and legendary frontman David Lee Roth split. Van Halen was known of course for their Guitar God founder Eddie Van Halen. His brother, drummer Alex Van Halen and his legendary snare was still there as was underrated bassist Michael Anthony and his incredible backing vocals. So the band recruited the Red Rocker, Sammy Hagar to replace Diamond Dave. Sammy was already a well established rock star who can sing, write songs and even play guitar. 5150 was Van Halen's seventh album and made it to #1 on Billboard album charts and eventually went 6X platinum. This was Van Halen's first number one album. This album was different than the previous DLR albums with a more polished and pop oriented sound that translated into more accessible music. This is the beginning of the so-called Van Hagar era. This was the Patreon pick and as usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs.
