Season 20, Episode 49 of The Adventures of Pipeman. It's the Pipeman in the Pit weekly segment of The Adventures of Pipeman.Chapter 1: Carmine Appice and his reformed Cactus on behalf of the new blues rock album, Temple Of Blues II, that's due out April 3 via Cleopatra Records. Now the Temple opens again, this time for an all-star aggregation that recalls Ted Nugent, Billy Sheehan, Bumblefoot, Dee Snider and Pat Travers from volume one, alongside an all-new wave of heavy hitters including Steve Morse (Deep Purple), Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns), Joe Lynn Turner (Rainbow, Deep Purple), Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy Osbourne, Quiet Riot), Alex Skolnick (Testament), and a whole lot more! And Temple Of Blues II takes us back to their birth. That summer, Cactus were among the main attractions at the Isle of Wight Festival in England, and the new album's “Purple Haze” reunites them with both another of that bill's audience favorites, Melanie, and its overall headliner, Jimi Hendrix.Elsewhere on this thunderous sequel, Pat Travers returns for the mighty “Moanin' At Midnight,” Joe Lynn Turner joins Morse, Carmine's Guitar Zeus bandmate Tony Franklin and Derek Sherinian (Dream Theater) for “Bad Stuff,” Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Tracii Guns (L.A. Guns) lead the way for “The Little Red Rooster,” and Ted Nugent and Bob Daisley (Rainbow) join forces for an astonishing “Spoonful.”Track List:1. Back Door Man Pt. 1 & 2 feat. Eric Gales & Billy Sheehan 2. 300 Pounds Of Joy feat. Ty Tabor3. Moanin' At Midnight feat. Pat Travers4. Down In The Bottom feat. Dug Pinnick5. Token Chokin' feat. Bumblefoot6. Bad Stuff feat. Billy Sheehan & Britt LightningChapter 2: American heavy metal icons, ARMORED SAINT, are back with their anticipated new full-length, Emotion Factory Reset, set for release on May 22nd through Metal Blade Records.Produced, as were the previous four albums, by bassist Joey Vera and mixed by Jay Ruston (Anthrax, Stone Sour) the record finds the quintet challenging themselves. Songs like “Close To The Bone,” “Hit A Moonshot,” and “Every Man-Any Man”The collaborative nature of Emotion Factory Reset led to the album title, a phrase from Phil Sandoval. “To me, ‘Emotion Factory Reset' means to reset yourself back to clarity. Take a pause and breathe before you respond or react. You can't control outside events, but you can control your mind,” the guitarist says. “How you interpret things is what hurts you, not the event itself.”ARMORED SAINT Presents “Hit A Moonshot” Video / Single From Emotion Factory Reset Full-LengthIn advance of the record's release, the band presents the first single and album opener, “Close To The Bone.” Comments Bush, “The first track on the record sounds like vintage ARMORED SAINT. Yet vintage that comes out in 2026! How did we do that? The title of the record, Emotion Factory Reset appears as the first line of the bridge. Killer riffs, awesome rhythms and attacking vocals gets this train rolling. The title implies the human response to withdraw and keep things to yourself instead of being confrontational; Something I believe we all struggle with as humans. Do you just say, ‘aww, whatever man,' or do you say, ‘hey, fuck you!' Depends on the moment I guess.”Click Here to Subscribe to The Adventures of Pipeman for PERKS, BONUS Content & FREE GIVEWAYS! Take some zany and serious journeys with The Pipeman aka Dean K. Our new theme song! Its story is a rollercoaster of emotions. Ellie, a member of our Discord server, wrote the lyrics and shared the song with us. We LOVED the song, but she'd used AI to generate the music. What she didn't know is that Chris and Steve aren't just podcasters, they're also musicians! Steve rerecorded all the music and hired a professional singer to provide the vocals, and BOOM! New theme song! Big thanks to Scott Foster Harris (former frontman for L.A. Guns and Tracii Guns' League of Gentlemen) for providing the vocals!https://www.youtube.com/@HorrorMakesUsHappyAll our links: https://linktr.ee/horrormakesushappyIf you're seeing this, please leave us a review!

This week, we are welcoming home the astronauts by playing songs written by the star man himself: David Bowie! What better way to celebrate our mission to the moon than by hearing other bands cover his varied tunes. The Thin White Duke was a rock n' roll chameleon who influenced music, film, and fashion for over 50 years. Considered one of the most influential artists of all time, he was the most underground mainstream artist, creating the blueprint for many to follow. Hope we freak you out and that ya dig! What is it we do here at InObscuria? Every show, Kevin opens the crypt to exhume and dissect from his personal collection: an artist, album, or collection of tunes from the broad spectrum of rock, punk, and metal. Robert is forced to test his endurance and provide feedback, as he has no idea what he will be subjected to every week. Our hope is that we turn you on to something that was lost on your ears, or something you've simply forgotten about, or that (in our opinion) should have been the next big thing. Songs this week include: The Get Up Kids – “Sufragette City (David Bowie)” from Eudora (2001) Infectious Grooves – “Fame (David Bowie)” from Sarsippius' Ark (1993)  Small Town Titans – “Heroes (David Bowie)” from Heroes - Single (2026) Bauhaus – “Ziggy Stardust (David Bowie)” from Ziggy Stardust - Single (1982) Contraband – “Hang On To Yourself (David Bowie)” from Contraband (1991) DREAMCAR – “Moonage Daydream (David Bowie)” from Dream - EP (2024) Enuff Z'Nuff – “The Jene Genie (David Bowie)” from 10 (2000) Classless Act – “Starman (David Bowie)” from Classless Act Does Bowie - Single (2023) Saigon Kick – “Space Oddity (David Bowie)” from Water (1993) Please subscribe everywhere that you listen to podcasts! Featuring contributions from Dee Snider, Joe Lynn Turner, Billy Sheehan, Rudy Sarzo, Tracii Guns, Bumblefoot, Pat Travers, Ted Nugent and many more, this is a record built on collaboration, creativity and serious musical firepower. Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 579 of the Chasing Tone Podcast -  Brian's number one guitar buying tip and California dreaming with Tracii Guns and Norman's Rare Guitars Richard has been living in the 1980s and has a rant. Meanwhile there was some very tragic news in the world of metal so the guys discuss it despite Internet woes. Closer to home in the pedal industry, Josh Scott from JHS had a nasty accident on his cycle so the guys do their best to send healing powers across the airwaves.Blake spent a couple of days on the west coast and hung with almost everybody who is anybody! He tells us about his time with the legendary Norm of Norman's Rare Guitars and somehow it involves the Goo Goo Dolls. Brian shares his one tip for picking a great guitar and Blake talks about his time with friend of the show, Mr. Tracii Guns. Brian has convinced Richard to buy new gear and there is a modicum of excitement before Bri takes it all straight to the gutter. Blake realizes that he too is becoming old and the guys compare aging woes.Duck Update, Meris, Leisure Suit Larry, Richie Sambora, Rimshots...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Courses and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/@chasingtonepodcastFind us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Contact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show

Tracii Guns of LA Guns joins Greg Koch for a refreshingly honest exploration of what makes rock and roll endure through decades of industry upheaval. Their conversation weaves through Tracii's musical awakening at age five—hearing Led Zeppelin's theremin breakdown in "Whole Lotta Love" from the backseat of a car—to building and maintaining LA Guns through countless lineup changes and industry shifts. With remarkable candor, Tracii takes us behind the scenes of his evolution as a guitarist, from his early days playing "Scorpion-style heavy metal with a little Jimmy Page thrown in" to his current approach. Guitar aficionados will delight in their deep dive into equipment - Tracii's journey from traditional JCM 800 Marshalls to embracing digital technology while maintaining his signature sound. "You keep changing stuff but you keep getting the same sound," his tech once observed. The pair unpack the mystique of legendary guitarists like Jimmy Page, revealing that greatness often comes from simplicity rather than complexity. "For all the magic that he is, he bought his main guitar for 500 bucks from Joe Walsh," Tracii notes, suggesting that true mastery comes from dedication to playing, not gear acquisition.Perhaps most valuable is Tracii's hard-earned wisdom about music industry survival: "You don't need a million people, you just need enough people to support you. You get 10,000 people buying everything you do, you're done." In an age of algorithm-chasing and viral fame, Tracii and Greg remind us that authentic connection through live performance remains the beating heart of rock and roll.Want to see these two legends join forces? Catch Tracii Guns and Greg Koch performing together at the Basement East on August 27th—a rare opportunity to witness their musical chemistry in person.

Brian, Blake, and Richard are back for Episode 575 of the Chasing Tone Podcast - The Prince of Darkness exits stage left and is this the end of JHS?Richard has lost 25% wisdom and is now at a deficit...he tells us tales of childhood fears and lessons learned before the business of the week is addressed. This turns into a health and weight loss section as our British compatriot has been on the Brian Wampler diet...kind of. Brian meanwhile has been creating new businesses and teases us with the details. The news that Ozzy Osbourne passed his week takes a big focus for the guys as it has affected everyone to different degrees. Richard tells a story of how his friend went drinking with Ozzy how he discovered Black Sabbath - it may involve a certain legendary pub and a small piece of paper. Yes that sort of paper. Will there ever be another Black Sabbath moment in music? We hope so. Brian has become a JCM 800 guy and has eschewed his former Fender amp roots. The UK JHS has announced they are closing - for those that aren't aware they have been one of the UK's biggest distributors of guitar related goodness for about 50 years and Richard laments their demise a little. Finally, a  video came out this week from the guys at Working Class Music asking "is Guitar Youtube too white" and so the guys take a little look at this. The magical diet, The Iron horse, The Ultimate Wah pedal, Tracii Guns, BOSS RT-2, Mesa MKII, The Hulkster...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Courses including the ULTIMATE MIDI COURSEhttps://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/Merch and DIY mods:https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/@chasingtonepodcastAwesome Course, Merch and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Find us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Contact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show

Brian, Blake, and Richard are joined by a very special guest this week for Episode 551 of the Chasing Tone Podcast -  Tracii Guns tells us about his favorite pedals, plugins, and pajamas!   Please be aware this episode contains infrequent swearing and drug references - not suitable for minors! This week the guys are pretty stoked to have one of Brian's all-time guitar heroes on the show. Tracii Guns is a legendary LA based guitarist, super talented player, and happens to be the founding member of a couple of huge bands you may have heard of. He also has a vast amount of stories and anecdotes to recount...and they are seriously funny. Brian drills straight into the culture of the Sunset Strip scene of the 1980s as the guys take a "behind the scenes" peek into the LA rock scene of that era. Tracii talks about some of the legendary bands he played alongside when LA Guns first made it, including Mötley Crüe, Skid Row, WASP, and a whole bunch more. Richard looks at the differences between the English and the US Music scene of that period and Tracii has some great insights and a mutual love of some classic British bands.Blake asks about the early days of Grunge and how that changed the direction of rock and Tracii gives us a candid and hilarious take on how that played out and what it meant for the musicians of the time. Tracii then tells us how Brian helped him through an existential rig crisis and you might be surprised by the fixes they came up with.http://www.lagunsmusic.com/ The Nigels, The Rock Sock, Kid Creole, Steve Vai, Rockman stories...it's all in this week's Chasing Tone!We are on Patreon now too!Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/chasingtonepodcast)Awesome Course, Merch and DIY mods:https://www.guitarpedalcourse.com/https://www.wamplerdiy.com/Find us at:https://www.wamplerpedals.com/https://www.instagram.com/WamplerPedals/https://www.facebook.com/groups/wamplerfanpage/Youtube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdVrg4Wl3vjIxonABn6RfWwContact us at: podcast@wamplerpedals.comSupport the show

Blake struggles to stay awake. Brian talks us through his modification and talks a little bit about this classic boost circuit and this turns into a little bit of a primer for guitar effects in general. Blake has been roleplaying and it takes the guys buy surprise so they go off on a tangent into the world of robots before Brian tells us of his gaming tactics. Richard insults him before they discuss a documentary about 1980s hair metal that involves ridiculous meat based antics. He also met one of his heroes and saw some live music which wasn't related to Pink Floyd and asks the question - who is the greatest Female Telecaster player of all time? SNL made a sketch about Oasis and it did not go down well. Meanwhile the guys have been lusting over the Greg Koch "Koch Ness Monster" pedalboard and Brian finds inspiration from Robert Keeley. This flows smoothly into a conversation about compressor pedals, feed-forward designs, and the EGO 76.
