On the 68th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom, Zeus & special guest, SIOL Hall Of Famer, the host of Trunk Nation on SiriusXM, the Eddie Trunk Podcast, That Metal Show, the one and only Eddie Trunk to review the 1976 classic rock album from Rainbow, "Rising." Rainbow's Rising was the 2nd studio album by Rainbow, the band that guitar god Ritchie Blackmore formed when he left Deep Purple. This album saw a whole new band, with the exception of the legendary Ronnie James Dio on vocals. Jimmy Bain joined on bass, Tony Carey on keyboard and SIOL favorite Cozy Powell on drums. Rising not only continued where the debut album left off, but surpassed it by leaps and bounds. The musicianship, the lyrics and the neo-classical form of metal was unmatched. The whole band shined on this album, but especially, Dio, Blackmore and Powell. Though there are only six songs on the album, songs like Tarot Woman, Stargazer & Light In The Black which are classics which may never be topped. This was Zeus' pick. This week Tom & Zeus break down KISS' 1976 appearance on the British TV Show, "So It Goes." So It Goes was a British TV Show that aired on Granada Television between 1976-1977 and hosted by Tony Wilson. KISS was in England for the first time and Wilson was there to interview them at their first concert on May 13, 1976 at Free Trade Hall. The short clip was fascinating for many reasons and appeared on KISSology Volume 1. The guys break down the clip SIOL style and discuss the interesting aspects of it. The guys then rank this KISS TV appearance against the previous KISS TV appearances they have reviewed so far. This week Tom & Zeus review the latest Off The Soundboard KISS release, KISS Off The Soundboard San Antonio 1985. This live album was recorded during the Asylum tour which featured a non makeup KISS. This is the 6th Off The Soundboard release by KISS and this one had the longest time delay between the previous Off The Soundboard release and therefore was highly anticipated. Released only on vinyl on KISS' website with controversial merchandise and on CD only in Japan, the album release had issues with the KISS Army. It is the first official live album featuring beloved KISS guitarist, Bruce Kulick. The album does include Asylum album songs, like Tears Are Falling and Uh! All Night, but is also filled with the most 80's Paul Stanley stage banter you can imagine.
