We are thrilled to welcome back to RadioBypass, Guitarist Doug Aldrich, to get some insight on the making of the new Blues/Rock album from The Dead Daisies, Lookin' For Trouble. The record is amazing .... 10 out of 10! The band have taken some familiar songs and truly made them their own. We can't stop listening to this album, so it was great to hear Doug's inside information on the process of making this record. Join our conversation, and hear two of the amazing tracks from Lookin' For Trouble. Rock and Roll music (and conversation) that DESERVES to be heard!
Always great to catch up with drummer Tommy Clufetos, and this time was no different. He played in Ozzy's band for the Back to the Beginning concert, so I had to ask him about that. I mean, the chance to play Ozzy's last concert is an unreal assignment. Tommy talked about being there with fellow Detroiter Chad Smith, who also played during the day. He said he and Chad watched Black Sabbath from the side of the stage. We also talked about his new music, which smokes! Straight-aheads no BS rock! It'll be on full display when he does shows with Ted Nugent throughout Michigan in August. Oh, and don't forget about his other band, The Dead Daisies, which he'll play shows with in August as well. The guy is a machine! Enjoy!

Hi everyone! My guest on this episode of The Talk Music Podcast is John Corabi, lead vocalist of the powerhouse rock band The Dead Daisies, and former frontman for Mötley Crüe from 1992 to 1996.The current Daisies lineup is a who's who of rock legends: Doug Aldrich (Whitesnake/Dio), Michael Devin (Whitesnake), David Lowy (Mink/Red Phoenix), and Tommy Clufetos (Ozzy Osbourne/Black Sabbath). Along with John, they are one of the most electrifying live bands out there.Rooted in the spirit of '70s and early '80s rock, The Dead Daisies deliver a soulful, hard-hitting sound packed with bluesy riffs, soaring vocals, big choruses, and unforgettable hooks. With seven studio albums, a live record, a covers album, and a “Best Of” collection, they've shared the stage with legends like KISS, Guns N' Roses, Scorpions, Aerosmith, and Def Leppard. In this episode, John and I dive into their scorching, high-voltage new blues-rock album, "Lookin' for Trouble," recorded at the iconic Fame Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. We talk about how the band brought their own edge and personality to classic blues tracks, and how a spontaneous late-night jam turned into one of their most soulful records yet.We also discuss their new 20-minute short film which traces the roots of the blues and its evolution into rock and roll— an intimate and cinematic look into the making of this great new blues tribute album. And we chat about the history of The Dead Daisies and why the chemistry of the band works so well after so many years. You'll hear clips from standout tracks like Crossroads, Boom Boom (check out the swagger-filled video of John walking down the streets in Lyon, France!), Going Down, Little Red Rooster, The Thrill Is Gone, Born Under a Bad Sign, and Black Betty. The band is currently tearing it up on tour in Europe, with UK dates up next. We wrap things up with a candid chat about John's rollercoaster ride during his time with the Crüe. Enjoy! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

Hi everybody, I'm thrilled to have as my guest this week singer-songwriter JULIAN TAYLOR. For over 25 years, Julian has been steadily building a strong reputation with his roots-driven sound, earning a devoted following and a catalogue of critically-acclaimed albums along the way.Back in 1996, he co-founded the rock band Staggered Crossing, and by 2001 (with the help of publisher Frank Davies) signed to Warner Music, scoring a Top 10 Canadian rock hit with “Further Again.” After the band went independent, Julian launched his own label, releasing standout records like Tech Noir, Desert Star, and Zero to Eleven. In recent years, it's been his solo work that's really put him on the map internationally. Albums like The Ridge, Beyond the Reservoir, and his latest, PATHWAYS—co-produced by COLIN LINDEN and featuring ALLISON RUSSELL on the title track—have brought a wave of well-earned recognition. Multiple JUNO nominations and glowing reviews from well beyond Canada have followed, firmly placing Julian among the rising stars of the contemporary folk scene. Most recently, Julian recorded and released a soulful version of the classic cover song “Tulsa Time” with longtime friend JIM CUDDY and he also took part in the Robbie Robertson tribute in LA. Beyond the music, Julian also hosts the syndicated radio show Julian Taylor's Jukebox and is deeply engaged in educational and cultural outreach, particularly around Canada's Truth and Reconciliation efforts. This conversation took place just after I'd seen him deliver a stunning show in a church setting and just before he hit the road for a U.S. tour with MATT ANDERSON.Besides song clips from some of his albums, I also feature Julian's brand new single "Dedication”. Enjoy! Coming Next: JOHN CORABI from the Dead Daisies and former singer of Motley Crue! Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

This week we have NEW Rock and Roll music that DESERVES to be heard from L.A. Guns, The Dead Daisies, Roy Cathey & The Fifth, Dark Chapel, The Cold Stares, and Phil X & The Drills. We also pay tribute to an outstanding musician we lost this past week, Rick Derringer. Rick was an amazing singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer. At the age of 17, he scored his first number one hit with his band The McCoys. From there he went on to work with Johnny Winter as a guitarist and producer, then Edgar Winter in the same two roles, solo records, and a lot of guest appearances on many albums. Today we feature a variety of the music Rick has left for us, and we are joined by another amazing musician, Mitch Perry, who was in Edgar Winter's band for a number of years and got to know Rick on a personal level and play alongside him. Whether you are familiar with Rick's work, or are hearing it for the very first time, you will find much to love from his vast catalogue of music. Sammy Hagar is up first this week. His new song "Encore, Thank You, Goodnight" is out now. Sammy talks about the song, how it came to him in a dream, and why Wolfgang Van Halen didn't play on it. Sammy is really upfront and candid when he talks, which is appreciated. He also shared his thoughts on playing the last Ozzy/Black Sabbath show and the songs he'll be singing. Doug Aldrich from The Dead Daisies is next. Doug fought a cancer battle last year and talked about that. I'm very happy that he's come out of it, and he says he gets stronger every day. The band dropped a new album called Looking For Trouble, where they cover classic blues songs. He told me how the idea came about and spoke about the recording process and location. He also shared stories of rockers, including David Coverdale of Whitesnake, Ronnie James Dio, Reb Beach, and the first time he met Randy Rhoads. I could talk to Doug all day! Finally, singer Nate Peck joins me. This is the first time I've ever had the chance to speak with Nate. The Michigan-born singer talks about being on American Idol, through getting the job with Firehouse. The first gig they played, he didn't even get to rehearse! Nate speaks of his influences, singing these classic songs, and lots more. It was great to connect with Nate!

John Corabi is a powerhouse rock vocalist and guitarist whose career has spanned more than four decades. Known for his gravelly voice, heartfelt lyrics, and gritty authenticity, Corabi has carved a unique niche in rock and metal history. He first gained attention in the late 1980s with The Scream, a hard rock band that blended bluesy swagger with heavy riffs. Their 1991 debut Let It Scream earned a cult following and showcased Corabi's range and charisma, even as the grunge movement was starting to dominate the airwaves. His biggest break came in 1994, when he was tapped to replace Vince Neil as the lead singer of Mötley Crüe. The resulting self-titled album, Mötley Crüe (1994), marked a radical departure from the band's glam metal roots. With Corabi on vocals and rhythm guitar, the album was darker, heavier, and more musically ambitious. Though it received critical praise and remains a fan favorite, it didn't achieve the commercial success Elektra Records had hoped for, and Corabi left the band in 1997 when Neil returned.Unfazed, Corabi continued to explore new musical paths. He played guitar for Ratt for several years and worked with various artists in projects that allowed him to flex his creative muscles. One notable collaboration was with Union, the band he formed with former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick. Union released two studio albums that blended classic rock with modern tones, again proving Corabi's versatility and songwriting chops. In the 2010s, Corabi joined The Dead Daisies, a revolving supergroup of rock veterans. With Corabi on vocals, the band released multiple albums, including Revolución (2015) and Burn It Down (2018), which received acclaim for their retro-hard rock sound and powerful performances. His work with the Daisies helped reintroduce him to a new generation of fans, thanks to extensive touring and a polished yet passionate delivery.Corabi is also known for his solo work, where he strips things down to an acoustic, story-driven format. His live shows often include personal anecdotes, behind-the-scenes stories from his time in Mötley Crüe and beyond, and intimate versions of songs spanning his entire career. In 2022, he released John Corabi: Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, an autobiography that pulls no punches in telling his story in his own words.John Corabi is keeping the blues alive and well in 2025, with not one but two major projects lighting up the rock world. First, he's fronting The Dead Daisies on their upcoming blues-drenched album Lookin' For Trouble, and second, he's signed a new solo record deal, marking a fresh chapter in his storied careerSet for release on May 30, 2025, Lookin' For Trouble is The Dead Daisies' first full-length blues album. Born from late-night jam sessions during the recording of their rock album Light 'Em Up, the band—featuring Corabi, Doug Aldrich, David Lowy, Michael Devin, and drummer Sarah Tomek—found themselves immersed in the soulful legacy of the blues. Recording at the iconic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, they reimagined classics like Robert Johnson's “Crossroads,” John Lee Hooker's “Boom Boom,” and B.B. King's “The Thrill Is Gone” with their signature hard rock flairYou can follow him on social media or check out his latest news at johncorabi.com.
