She has released three internationally distributed albums, with music featured in television and film including Dawson's Creek, The Matthew Shepard Story, and Breaking Amish. Michaela has performed at the Monaco International Film Festival, the Cannes International Film Festival, and was the last person invited to sing privately for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. She is the author of the memoir Starchild — the remarkable true story of her journey to Uganda to find the biological family of her adopted brother, 18 years after his death. The book was published in the US and distributed globally. Starchild is currently being adapted into a feature documentary titled The Starchild Covenant, directed by BAFTA Award-winner Alex McCall. Michaela is also the founder and Executive Director of the Starchild Charity, which serves vulnerable children and women in Uganda and Scotland. The charity has built a School for Creative Arts in Vvumba, Uganda in memory of her brother, and a holistic centre for autism and disabilities in Scotland in memory of her late partner. She has received numerous honours for her humanitarian work, including a Prime Minister's Award, a Peace and Unity Award, a Community Champion Award, and was a finalist for Scotswoman of the Year by the Evening Times in 2017. Currently, Michaela is working on several creative projects: ·       The Matoke Tree – A completed literary novel rooted in themes of race, adoption, religious oppression, and belonging, based in part on her own lived experiences. ·       The Starchild Covenant – A feature documentary based on her memoir Starchild, currently in production with BAFTA Award-winner Alex McCall. ·       Sunflowers at Christmas – A deeply personal memoir in progress, written in the wake of her partner's death, exploring grief, love, and spiritual survival. ·       Orion: A Mythological Rock Opera – An immersive stage work in development, blending original music with myth, transformation, and rebirth, inspired by her album I Undid Orion's Belt. On the 74th Episode of the Album Review Crew of Shout It Out Loudcast, Tom & Zeus welcome back special guest, author, host of the new podcast 300 Favorite Albums & Hall Of Famer, James Campion, to review the 1967 classic Motown album From The Temptations "The Temptations With A Lot O' Soul." In 1967 the Temptations were hitting their prime with their "classic 5 lineup" just coming off their major breakthrough album Back In Black with their "classic 5" era lineup of singers, David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks, Otis Williams, Melvin Franklin and Paul Williams. The Temptations With A Lot O' Soul made it to #7 on Billboard album charts and was their biggest selling album from their classic 5 era. The album featured hits like (I Know) I'm Losing You, All I Need, You're My Everything & more. The great Funk Brothers provided their music and Norman Whitfield writing and production was all over the album as usual. This album continued The Temptations unique one of a kind soul music and style. David Ruffin was solidified as the main lead singer, but valuable contributions and lead vocals was still provided by the other members. This was Zeus' pick and as usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the album cover against the previous albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1992 Revenge Tour which was in support of their 16th studio album, Revenge. This is SIOL's 12th KISS tour reviewed. Revenge was released on May 19, 1992 and the tour began on April 23, 1992 in San Francisco in a club and ended December 20, 1992 This is known as the Revenge Era lineup. New Drummer Eric Singer joins KISS after the tragic death of beloved drummer, Eric Carr. The stage has a statute of liberty which changes during the show. KISS is now dressed in black leather and the "Demon" Gene Simmons is back! The setlist featured as many as 6 new songs from Revenge, and many of the classic songs from KISS. The setlist actually rotated ... imagine that! As usual, the guys breakdown the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour. ACDC was just coming off their major breakthrough album Back In Black with their classic lineup of new singer Brian Johnson, the incredible dual guitars of brothers, Angus & Malcolm Young and the underrated Cliff Williams on bass and Phil Rudd on drums. For Those About To Rock We Salute You made it to #1 on Billboard album charts and eventually went 4 X platinum. This was ACDC's first #1 album led by their title track which even has a video that was in heavy rotation on MTV. This album continued the ACDC formula of guitar rock at its best. The band was becoming legendary and this album cemented them as one of the greatest bands in all of rock history. This was Tom's pick and as usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. This week Tom & Zeus review the 1992 Revenge Tour which was in support of their 16th studio album, Revenge. This is SIOL's 12th KISS tour reviewed. Revenge was released on May 19, 1992 and the tour began on April 23, 1992 in San Francisco in a club and ended December 20, 1992 This is known as the Revenge Era lineup. New Drummer Eric Singer joins KISS after the tragic death of beloved drummer, Eric Carr. The stage has a statute of liberty which changes during the show. KISS is now dressed in black leather and the "Demon" Gene Simmons is back! The setlist featured as many as 6 new songs from Revenge, and many of the classic songs from KISS. The setlist actually rotated ... imagine that! As usual, the guys breakdown the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour. They then rank the costumes, stage, set list and overall tour against the previous tours reviewed so far. This week Tom & Zeus open Season 8 of Shout It Out Loudcast with a review of the most quintessential KISS compilation, the 1978 "Double Platinum!" This SIOL's 12th compilation review. This was KISS' first compilation and came out in a period where KISS would release 7 albums in two years including 2 double albums, one of which is Double Platinum. This compilation covers songs from 1974 - 1977, containing containing 20 songs from the first 6 KISS studio albums. The album was certified platinum and was produced by the great Sean Delaney. He remixed the songs and made some controversial changes to many of the tracks, including a new disco version of "Strutter" called "Strutter '78" but lovingly called "Disco Strutter" on SIOL. The album cover with its silver color KISS logos and red Double Platinum writing is legendary. When opened there were embossed images of the band members that were fascinating to view. The guys breakdown the track selection and then rank the compilation album and cover versus the previous reviewed compilation albums. A classic album from the classic era of KISS.
