She made her way to the Sunset Strip in the 80s where she was cut out of a Ratt video for not having "Banana Tits" and dated Steven Adler from Guns N Roses. She then became a world champion clown and has plenty of clown and mime stories. She is back in LA and just released her first album "Fun Box" which is a mix of rock, blues, industrial and rap. Brandon talked about growing up in South Central Los Angeles (he knew the guy who pulled Reginald Denny out of his truck. His father has been in prison most of his adult life, but he has overcome his obstacles by founding a clothing company (Nicole really liked his Black Rose hat) and by doing stand up comedy which has led him to have comedy specials with Revolt TV and Comedy Cube.He also recently saw Dave Chapelle at the Hollywood Bowl (but not THAT show) and seeing Chris Rock on the long walk to his parking spot. Hello everyone, Billy Amendola here.   My guest today Fred Coury is mostly known as the drummer from the eighties MTV-multi-platinum-band Cinderella.    Coury and Cinderella parted ways in 1991 and Fred joined Stephen Pearcy of Ratt to form the band Arcade and record two albums.    Fred also briefly substituted for GnR's drummer Steven Adler in 1987 when health issues forced Adler off the road.   At age five, Coury started taking violin lessons and by age six, studied at the Beirut Conservatory of Music in Beirut, Lebanon. At age ten, he added the trumpet to his repertoire, and at age twelve he started playing the drums. Shortly after, as a teen, Coury was accepted to Berklee School of Music in Boston, for violin. These days Coury spends most of his time in his Los Angeles recording studio, Double Forte Music, composing as an Emmy multi-award-winning composer for top television shows and sports teams.  In 2021, Coury also co-produced pop sensation and singer/songwriter Debbie Gibson's “The Body Remembers”  An avid hockey fan, Coury combined his love of the sport with his musical skills to create the “Goal Song” theme for the LA Kings hockey team.  Let's welcome Fred. Enjoy!

Vain started out as a glam metal band from the San Francisco, CA area. After recording a demo, Davy Vain founded the band in 1986, adding Dylana Nova Scott (aka Jamie Scott), Danny West, Ashley Mitchell and drummer Tom Rickard to the lineup. They signed with Island Records in 1988, before releasing their debut album the following year, titled No Respect, which peaked at number 154 on the Billboard 200.Though they recorded a second album, Vain were released by Island in 1991, with West and Rickard departing the same year. Dem Vinyl Boyz drop the needle on a rock record this week that ended up teaching us so much about this band. You will find out that GnR' was not a band from California, they were from Seattle, Indiana and Cleveland and only met in L.A. In an era of bad-boy rockers who weren't terribly bad and wrote music that sounded too good, Guns N' Roses were the genuine article. Their songs echoed with the love for rock and roll and the spirit of rebellion. When Geffen Records A&R man Tom Zutaut signed the band he had no idea what he had gotten into. No one else wanted GN'R because they were viewed as a liability, a band as likely to miss the show as perform a gangbuster set. Yet what Zutaut heard from vocalist Axl Rose, guitarists Slash and Izzy Stradlin, bassist Duff McKagan and drummer Steven Adler was inspiring and seemed to have the potential to be a profitable signing if they didn't all die in an alcohol or drug related mishap. Appetite for Destruction is the debut studio album by American hard rock band Guns N' Roses. It was released on July 21, 1987, by Geffen Records. The album was released to little mainstream attention in 1987. It was not until the following year that Appetite for Destruction became a commercial success, after the band had toured and received significant airplay with the singles "Welcome to the Jungle", "Paradise City" and "Sweet Child o' Mine". The album peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 and became the seventh best-selling album of all time in the United States, as well as the best-selling debut album. With over 30 million copies sold worldwide, it is also one of the best-selling albums of all time. Although critics were originally ambivalent toward the album, Appetite for Destruction has received retrospective acclaim and has been viewed as one of the greatest albums of all time. In 2018, it was re-released as a remastered box set to similar acclaim. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome to The Nonlinear Library, where we use Text-to-Speech software to convert the best writing from the Rationalist and EA communities into audio. This is: Common misconceptions about OpenAI, published by Jacob Hilton on August 25, 2022 on The AI Alignment Forum. I have recently encountered a number of people with misconceptions about OpenAI. Some common impressions are accurate, and others are not. This post is intended to provide clarification on some of these points, to help people know what to expect from the organization and to figure out how to engage with it. It is not intended as a full explanation or evaluation of OpenAI's strategy. The post has three sections: Common accurate impressions Common misconceptions Personal opinions The bolded claims in the first two sections are intended to be uncontroversial, i.e., most informed people would agree with how they are labeled (correct versus incorrect). I am less sure about how commonly believed they are. The bolded claims in the last section I think are probably true, but they are more open to interpretation and I expect others to disagree with them. Note: I am an employee of OpenAI. Sam Altman (CEO of OpenAI) and Mira Murati (CTO of OpenAI) reviewed a draft of this post, and I am also grateful to Steven Adler, Steve Dowling, Benjamin Hilton, Shantanu Jain, Daniel Kokotajlo, Jan Leike, Ryan Lowe, Holly Mandel and Cullen O'Keefe for feedback. I chose to write this post and the views expressed in it are my own. Common accurate impressions Correct: OpenAI is trying to directly build safe AGI. OpenAI's Charter states: "We will attempt to directly build safe and beneficial AGI, but will also consider our mission fulfilled if our work aids others to achieve this outcome." OpenAI leadership describes trying to directly build safe AGI as the best way to currently pursue OpenAI's mission, and have expressed concern about scenarios in which a bad actor is first to build AGI, and chooses to misuse it. Correct: the majority of researchers at OpenAI are working on capabilities. Researchers on different teams often work together, but it is still reasonable to loosely categorize OpenAI's researchers (around half the organization) at the time of writing as approximately: Capabilities research: 100 Alignment research: 30 Policy research: 15 Correct: the majority of OpenAI employees did not join with the primary motivation of reducing existential risk from AI specifically. My strong impressions, which are not based on survey data, are as follows. Across the company as a whole, a minority of employees would cite reducing existential risk from AI as their top reason for joining. A significantly larger number would cite reducing risk of some kind, or other principles of beneficence put forward in the OpenAI Charter, as their top reason for joining. Among people who joined to work in a safety-focused role, a larger proportion of people would cite reducing existential risk from AI as a substantial motivation for joining, compared to the company as a whole. Some employees have become motivated by existential risk reduction since joining OpenAI. Correct: most interpretability research at OpenAI stopped after the Anthropic split. Chris Olah led interpretability research at OpenAI before becoming a cofounder of Anthropic. Although several members of Chris's former team still work at OpenAI, most of them are no longer working on interpretability. Common misconceptions Incorrect: OpenAI is not working on scalable alignment. OpenAI has teams focused both on practical alignment (trying to make OpenAI's deployed models as aligned as possible) and on scalable alignment (researching methods for aligning models that are beyond human supervision, which could potentially scale to AGI). These teams work closely with one another. Its recently-released alignment research includes self-critiquing models (AF discussion), InstructGPT, WebGPT (AF discussion) and book summarization (AF discussion). OpenAI's ap...

He also talks about liking feet on a woman and Googled Banana Tits with surprising results!

Use Your Illusion II debuted at Number 1 on the US Charts and would eventually go 7x Platinum.Fans of GNR crowded record stores to buy the most anticipated album releases in years. Use Your Illusion II boasted songs that were familiar to their fans, like Civil War, You Could Be Mine and Knockin' On Heaven's Door. The band had made some changes as well, adding keyboard player, Dizzy Reed to make it a 6 man unit and substituting Steven Adler (drugs) with Matt Sorum. The album was a purposeful departure from their landmark debut, Appetite For Destruction. Songs became longer, more thought out lyrics and themes were explored in their songwriting, especially by Axl Rose. The album still boasted Slash's amazing guitar work which was a highlight on this album. Songs were also sung by Izzy & Duff as well. All the bandmates contributed songs and lyrics, which gave the album a great variety of music styles and influences. This was Zeus' pick and he and Tom described how this album impacted Freshman year at Stonehill College for them both. Guns N' Roses is also the first band to have a second album on ARC, with the guys having reviewed Appetite For Destruction on the first episode of The Album Review Crew.As usual the boys breakdown and dissect the tracks and rank the songs. They then rank the album and the cover against the previous 28 albums reviewed on the Album Review Crew.It might take you 14 years to get through this episode, but don't cry because when you hear where someone ranks this album you will want them to Get In The Ring!!!PUNK!For all things Shout It Out Loudcast check out our amazing website by clicking below: www.ShoutItOutLoudcast.com Interested in more Shout It Out Loudcast content? Care to help us out? Come join us on Patreon by clicking below:SIOL Patreon Please go to Klick Tee Shop for all your Shout It Out Loudcast Merchandise by clicking below:SIOL Merchandise at Klick Tee Shop Please Email us comments or suggestions by clicking below:ShoutItOutLoudcast@Gmail.com Please subscribe to us and give us a 5 Star (Child) review on the following places below:iTunesPodchaserStitcheriHeart RadioSpotify  Please follow us and like our social media pages clicking below:TwitterFacebook PageFacebook Group Page Shout It Out LoudcastersInstagramYouTubeProud Member of the Pantheon Podcast click below to see the website:Pantheon Podcast Network
