So close to the weekend….with rain likely today, and showers & thunderstorms continuing until sometime on Saturday. We kicked things off with the original version of the "Thursday Song" thanks to our guy, Skradie. Miss that dude. And we also talked to Office Cora just after 8am to see what she's up to in the 715 this weekend. It's also "Hypothetical Thursday", so we asked each other hypothetical questions…Jean's question for Brian was: "Would you rather be a great recruiter or a great strategist?" Brian's question for Jean was: "If you had to fart all of the farts you have left to fart in your life, how long would that take?" In the news this morning, an American journalist is kidnapped in Iraq, NASA successfully launched the Artemis II yesterday, the latest on Kristi Noem's husband and his alternative lifestyle, Reese's says they're going back to the original recipe for their peanut butter cups, and how much would you be willing to pay for sunlight on demand? In sports, the Brew Crew beat the Rays again yesterday while umpire C.B. Bucknor had another rough outing…but only because he got hit by a foul ball. The Bucks lost again last night, the NCAA Men's Frozen Four begins this afternoon with Wisconsin taking on North Dakota later this evening, the schedules for the men's & women's Final Fours which begin tomorrow, and former Badger Jack Pugh has passed away. We let you know what's on TV today/tonight and discussed some of the more humorous April Fool's pranks that major companies pulled yesterday. Check out this 99 year-old woman who really wanted to celebrate her birthday with some hunky firefighters(she got her wish!). And kudos to this guy who set up a GoFundMe for an elderly Dominos delivery driver who went the extra mile to provide better service. Looking ahead to Sunday, we checked out a breakdown of America's favorite Easter candies. And elsewhere in sports, the quadruple amputee/former professional cornhole player that allegedly shot & killed a passenger in his vehicle has been denied bond, and the locker that UCONN's Braylon Mullins used when his team beat Duke in the Elite 8 is up for auction. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaCouple that were busted having sex in public, a #FloridaMan who was arrested for trespassing while wearing a prison jumpsuit, a car with a "human skin-like" interior complete with nipples & moles, new footage that supposedly debunks the famous Bigfoot video from the 1960's, and a woman in Maryland who allegedly called ICE on the guys that were fixing her roof so she wouldn't have to pay for it.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A rainy Monday morning to start the week. Thankfully, it's going to be MUCH cooler this week with highs in the upper 70's expected almost every day this week. We recapped a lot of Olympic stuff from the last few days, including an updated medal count, Simone Biles & Katie Ledecky dominating and winning even more gold, Noah Lyles becoming the fastest man on the planet, and Brian's favorite - Ryan Crouser - getting that gold in the shot put. Plus, the French pole-vault guy's dong and the dirty ass water in the Seine making athletes sick. Did you see the kid at the Packer family night event over the weekend who caught THREE consecutive kick-offs??? Get him a contract ASAFP! Speaking of kids, there was a 14 month-old toddler that recently fell into a well but was extracted thanks to some quick-thinking firefighters & EMS workers. There's apparently a new "Alphabet Song" and to be honest, it sucks. This week's "Monday Morning Throwback" was from 2011 and included an appearance by Skradie in the marsh. Emotional moment over the weekend at the HOF induction for Steve "Mongo" McMichael & his family. A lot of Olympians are finding new & interesting ways to make a few extra bucks, just like Kendall Ellis who teamed up with Charmin after a porta-potty mishap. During today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a new A.I. "friend" that people can buy, a fugitive from Wisconsin was just caught in Iowa after being on the run since the 90's, a Frontier Airlines pilot who was arrested just before he was scheduled to take off, polite burglars in California, a #FloridaWoman who plugged a conduit pipe in her yard with some concrete, a man who found a nose ring in his Taco Bell, and a guy who stuck a live eel up his ass that began eating it's way through his abdomen. We kicked off the show today with the ORIGINAL version of The Thursday Song from our old pal, Skradie! Of course, our top news story this morning was the shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade yesterday. We also met a listener from the UK named Keiran who wanted to hear some Iron Maiden!!! Even with all the tragedy that happened yesterday, we were able to put a positive spin on the morning with a great story about a woman who just turned 109 years old, and a dog that was found with it's mouth zip-tied close that recently got adopted by the officer that rescued him. Before the shooting at the parade yesterday, Travis Kelce may have been over-served and decided to perform a rousing rendition of Garth Brook's "Friends In Low Places". Today was also #NationalWisconsinDay, so we shared some interesting facts about the Badger State, and we discussed Shaw's upcoming weekend getaway to Chicago that might be in jeopardy. During the "Friggin' Sports", we talked about the first ever D1 scholarship for cornhole players, and in today's "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a Walgreens that was robbed repeatedly by employees, a hiker that killed a rabid coyote after it bit him, a lost, naked hiker that was rescued, an idiot that tried to rob an ATM in a jail lobby, a Dominos in Japan that had to apologize to it's customers after a former employee was wiping his boogers in the dough, a story about a NY man that tried to smuggle snakes into Canada, and a Delta flight that had to turn around because of maggots falling from the overhead compartment.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
What a week. We talked to Chris Daughtry about his upcoming show at the La Crosse Center with Breaking Benjamin, and we talked to Wade from Rock Fest on Thursday when the lineup was released! On top of that, we talked about some easy ways to burn calories, a new device that electrocutes the allergies out of your nose(supposedly), and a dog that helped save it's owner after he fell through some ice on a lake. This week's Monday Morning Throwback was from 2014 when we were trying to help Skradie make a few extra bucks. We reacted to Elle King's drunken performance for Dolly Parton's birthday celebration at the Grand Old Opry, and on Monday's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about Taylor Swift's stalker getting arrested again, a couple in Kansas that hid a dead body to collect retirement funds, a dude in Philly who killed his neighbor because of loud snoring, and the guy who stole Dorothy's ruby slippers back in 2005 finally revealed why he did it. On Tuesday, we found out that Sammy Hagar is actually Sammy Belcher??? Brian raved about his Zevo fruit fly devices, and during Tuesday's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a school in NC that removed the mirrors from the restrooms to help stop kids from filming TikTok videos, a guy who got shot in the head but mistook it for a rock for FOUR days, and a #FloridaMan who got pulled over & gave his license to a cop…but it was covered in meth. Shaw aced this week's movie quote during "You're killin' me, Shaws", giving Brad from Viroqua a $70 win! We also had a couple of stories about babies being born in the car on the way to the hospital. Also, after Tyler Bass missed the game-tying field goal during last weekend's Bills/Chiefs game, people starting donating to his favorite cat shelter in his honor. And during Wednesday's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about the foul-mouthed parrots at a British wildlife park, a kid in Utah who duct-tapes dead fish to ATMs, PETA's desire to replace Punxsutawney Phil with a giant gold coin, and a guy on a plane who wouldn't stop farting. Thursday morning, we talked with Daughtry about his upcoming show with Breaking Benjamin at the La Crosse Center, and we talked to Wade from Rock Fest as the lineup dropped online! We also found out that pasta makes us happy, and that TJ Watt is a hell of a guy! On Thursday's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a 9 year old boy in France who lived by himself for the past two years, a lawmaker in California who wants to limit how fast new cars can go, and a trio of criminals that have been nicknamed "the Three Stooges. Friday morning, we talked about the "Ketchup Challenge", and Brian voiced his opinion on the reboot of "Road House" starring Conor McGregor & Jake Gyllenhaal. Plus, the story of how some underwear ended up on the ice after a hat trick. On Friday's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a #FloridaWoman who was killed by a gator, the Valentine's Reese's PB hearts that look like a specific part of the male anatomy, some Amish people who had their horse & buggy stolen, a couple in Portland that had a tree destroy their house AFTER they tried to get it taken down, and a politician who wants to bring back duels!
