RUNDOWN   Episode 336 opens with Mitch and Hotshot back in full form, celebrating the triumphant return of the area code gimmick — this time, 336, home to Greensboro, North Carolina. Mitch dives into the city's hidden gems and famous natives, from Counting Crows bassist Millard Powers to NBA legend Bob McAdoo and Tecmo-Bowl hero Haywood Jeffires. Along the way, we get Billy Crash Craddock trivia, a “plug it in” moment, and a savage grocery store showdown involving a rogue bagger and a flustered Mitch. Emmy-winning filmmaker Rebecca Gitlitz joins the show to discuss her explosive new Netflix documentary, Untold: The Fall of Favre. The interview explores why Jen Sterger's story is only now being fully heard, the disturbing details of Favre's alleged role in the Mississippi welfare scandal, and how Gitlitz navigated fairness, fact-checking, and silence from Favre's camp. In sports, the guys unpack the Mariners' frustrating four-game set in Houston. Despite momentum going in, Seattle drops three of four, and Mitch explores why left-handed pitching continues to be their kryptonite. That sets the table for this week's Mariners No-Table with Joe Doyle and Brady Farkas, where they break down the Astros series, analyze lineup matchups, bullpen handling, and offer a blunt assessment: the M's need a right-handed bat — badly. Finally, prospect guru Jason Churchill returns to profile the Mariners' red-hot farm system. Churchill explains why he wouldn't trade Seattle's top 8 prospects for any other organization in baseball. The two dig into Cole Young's AAA breakout, Juan Soto's switch-pitching uniqueness, and how Colt Emerson and Harry Ford could fit into Seattle's long-term plans.   GUESTS   Rebecca Gitlitz | Director, Untold: The Fall of Favre (Netflix) Joe Doyle | MLB Draft/Prospect Analyst, OverSlot Brady Farkas | Host, Refuse to Lose Podcast Jason Churchill | Founder, Prospect Insider   TABLE OF CONTENTS   0:00 | Mitch revives the area code tradition with a Greensboro deep dive, featuring Counting Crows, Chris Daughtry, and a grocery store diss worthy of a flagrant foul. 21:30 | Mariners lose 3 of 4 in Houston — Mitch highlights the ongoing struggle against left-handed pitching and the lineup shake-ups it forces. 38:52 | Guest: Rebecca Gitlitz – Gitlitz breaks down the Brett Favre doc, Jen Sterger's unheard truth, the Mississippi welfare scandal, and why no one is a one-dimensional villain. 54:14 | Guest: Mariners' No-Table, Brady Farkas & Joe Doyle – dig into the Astros series fallout, bullpen management, right-handed bat urgency, and potential trade targets. Also: Harry Ford's value, Kirby's outing, and bold predictions for the week ahead. 1:15:52 | Guest: Jason Churchill – ranks the Mariners' top prospects, outlines Cole Young's readiness, evaluates switch-pitcher Juan Soto, and explains why he's buying stock in Colt Emerson. 1:45:38 | The Other Stuff Segment – why Hotshot bags groceries like a Safeway veteran, Counting Crows at Marymoor, and a shoutout to the best closer in baseball: Andrés Muñoz.

HEAVY Music Interviews

Interview by Kris PetersNothing More are a band on the rise. And rapidly.Since the release of their seventh studio album, Carnal, last year, Nothing More have become the darlings of the hard rock scene, with three songs from that album already taking out top position on Rock Radio. And what does a band worth their promotional dollar do when they strike gold on a release? Yep, you guessed it, re-release the album as a deluxe special and draw in a whole new bunch of fans while placating existing lovers of their music. While more often than not such a move reeks of cashing on for the sake of it, with Carnal Deluxe, Nothing More have expanded on the quality provided the first time around, plus added a new song to keep diehard fans happy.HEAVY spent some time with frontman Jonny Hawkins earlier this week to go over Carnal Deluxe and why it is superior to the original version. We start by asking if Carnal was received as well as the band hoped."We knew this was going to be a strong album," he affirmed. "We felt a lot of confidence in our bones about this one. It just had good songs, and when we put it out, it performed as good as we had hoped, if not better. We have three number ones in a row, and now we have the song Freefall that will be climbing the charts, and we're - knock on wood - but we're hoping for a fourth number one."We ask if the anticipation and excitement levels are the same for a Deluxe release as opposed to the initial album."I'd say typically not," he smiled honestly. "Deluxes are fun little ways to kind of boost the album and push it back up to the top of people's streaming platforms. But that's the main goal, I think, is just reminding people and getting them to stream it again. I mean, for us, we did have a feature on a song called Freefall with Chris Daughtry. So that was kind of cool, because we hadn't released that version of the song yet.And then we had some cool remixes and stuff that were like good workout tracks or things to drive fast to that we didn't have on it before."In the full interview, Jonny spoke more about Carnal Deluxe and the value of being able to release upgraded versions of an album. We ran through each of the five bonus tracks individually, and Johnny told us more about each song and the new versions available. We spoke about K9s For Warriors and the organisations success in dealing with mental health and why Nothing More chose to help them, working with David Draimen from Disturbed, the band's pleasure at having Chris Daughtry on one song, the new song We're All Gonna Die and how it came to be on the album, touring plans and more.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/heavy-music-interviews--2687660/support.

He also told me about one rock legend he'd love to work with...and it's a great choice! Count me as a fan of Hardy's and the second guest on the episode in Chris Daughtry. An excellent dude with a mountain of talent. There's lots happening in 2025 for Daughtry. He'll be touring with Disturbed and Creed, plus, possibly dropping new music. Part two of "Shock To The System" is in the works, as he told me they have about 6 songs completed. How has the rock world treated him? He answered that question and spoke to some of his good friends in the business. Thank you for listening!

The intensity level that Chris Daughtry has been bringing with Daughtry is on another level, and 2025 looks to be the biggest of his career as a true hard rock artist. Touring with Disturbed and with Creed is already on the books and while Shock to the System Part One came out late last year, he's putting the final touch on Part Two as I type this. Chris even has a new more intense look to go with it, all that and thoughts on Falling in Reverse, Tremonti, Nothing More and even Sleep Token this conversation is as much two rock fans talking tunes as it is me asking questions about his music. Daughtry finally reached Number one on the LA Lloyd Rock 30 with the song Artificial.  Chris will give his thoughts on the inspiration of that song on how society is dealing with the growth of Artificial Intelligence at record breaking speed. You probably noticed in the Artificial video of Chris' workout ethic. He tells LA Lloyd, "I have the strongest willpower of anyone I know." He continued, "If I know that I am preparing for something, there is nothing you can do to make me crack."   The new single from Daughtry is Pieces.  The lyrics will definitely hit you emotionally when you listen to it.  He sings, "I'm learning to live with the pieces of me."  That's pretty heavy knowing the background of his pain losing a family member.

Every time the song is streamed, downloaded, or used in any way a donation is being made. The band's initial donation to the AFSP of $155,000 was presented at their final show in Denver, Colorado.  If you or a loved one is in crisis, please reach out to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 988, or the Crisis Text Line (Text TALK to 741741) to talk to someone who can help. It's ALWAYS great to talk with Lzzy Hale. She's so easy to chat with and very candid every time we speak.  She spoke to being a mid-state Pennsylvania kid, meeting and playing with her heroes. She mentioned that she grew up in a house that was built in the 1840's, so I had to ask her if she'd ever seen a ghost in that old home. Let's just say, she didn't say no.  As far as Halestorm is concerned, she said it's "Complete Chaos". They're going to buckle down next month and get to writing. She tells me how they write songs and what the process involves. Plus, she talks about a song she wrote that she never thought would see the light of day, which they did record. Let's just say it became a hit. "There's always a handful of songs (that she writes) that I think are dumb." That's a sexy story. LOL  As far as collaborations go, she told me how the Ashly McBryde collab came up. "It was a full on "F&*k Yes!"" She went onto say "She exceeded my expectations" as for how the song went. We talked about the Journey cover she did with Chris Daughtry, who also sent me a question for her to answer. That was funny as well.  If you're watching this, you'll see a piano in the background. I stumped her with naming musicians who've played on it. That was very entertaining. She did tell me about a metal legend who had tickled the ivory at her house. Really cool! I'll talk to Lzzy anytime she wants me to. She's the best! -Meltdown-
