Hello Friday! Hello LONG weekend! Hopefully your Memorial Day weekend is a good time. Speaking of the holiday, we took a look at some Memorial Day stats & info this morning. Also let you know what's on TV this weekend and what's in theaters. In the news this morning, Kwik Trip is still number one, David Kahl has died, we're getting rid of pennies, and a dude was throwing dirty diapers on the side of the road rather than disposing of them properly. In sports, the Brew Crew beat the Pirates last night, the Thunder got another win on the Timberwolves in the Western Conference Finals, and the Florida Panthers also got a win over the Hurricanes in their playoff series. Elsewhere in sports, the Kentucky Derby winning jockey is appealing his punishment for whipping his horse too much during the race, Aidan Hutchinson is cleared for play, the College Football playoffs are changing again, and the Blackhawks got a new coach. Doc joined us to talk racing, thanks to County Materials in Holmen. Check out this heart-warming story about a woman in Canada who found a missing locket and was able to return it to the family of the original owner. Also had a cool story about a guy who used a drone to save a girl who was drowning. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a guy who got busted for a probation violation while doing the "One Chip Challenge", a teacher dropped a baggie full of cocaine in the school's hallway, an airplane hit some serious turbulence during it's flight, a woman had an insane list of demands before her flight, a punk band that made a very interesting album, a "standing room only" plane ride, and a guy who was illegally towing people's cars & charging them money to get their vehicles back.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Happy Hump Day, yo! Looks like another beautiful day in the Coulee Region. Got the lawn mowed, bike washed, laundry folded, and a few other things checked off the list yesterday, so today it's all about getting my knees in the breeze after work. In the news this morning, the former Tommy Bartlett Show land in the Dells has been sold, the WI DNR has suspended burn permits in 30 counties across the state due to an elevated fire danger, WeightWatchers is the latest company to file for bankruptcy, Burger King is facing a lawsuit alleging that the Whopper is smaller than it's advertised, Smokey Robinson is facing accusations of sexual assault from four former employees, and the "Deep Thought" boat in Lake Michigan has finally been removed. In sports, the Brew Crew won again last night against the Astros, we recapped last night's NBA & NHL playoff action and took a look at tonight's NBA & NHL schedules. Plus, an update on the death of a reporter at the Super Bowl. Elsewhere in sports, the winner of the Kentucky Derby will NOT be running in the Preakness, there's a lawsuit involving Shedeur Sanders' fall in the NFL draft, and the Rams apparently got booked into a hotel that was also hosting a "Furry Convention"…not once, but TWICE. We let you know what's on TV today/tonight and we picked a winner for "Workforce Wednesday"! Plus, the latest list of the best states in America, and an early look at some Mother's Day stats & info. Cool story about a girl who was stuck in the hospital and missed her prom, so the staff decided to throw her a prom at the facility. And check out this woman who loves to brake for goats! The latest in a long line of animals on the field is a couple of ducks who decided to take in a minor league baseball game recently. And in today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a naked guy in an airport, a woman in court for feeding her neighbor's cat, a meth-smoking raccoon, a #FloridaMan who married three different women in three different counties, and the "Delco Deucer".See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Rundown[Intro] The case to option Andrew Vaughn. With this poor of a start, and an underwhelming career, Vaughn's poor play doesn't merit a spot on the 26-man roster[7:10] Vaughn's batted ball data that's fueling the lack of results despite the hard hit rates. [12:49] Revisiting what Detroit did last year with Spencer Torkelson and how that's paying off in 2025[18:25] The case for and against Tim Elko being promoted[31:25] Despite the high whiff rate when swinging at chase pitches, it's time to give Elko an opportunity in proving himself at the major league level. [32:42] White Sox are using Openers, finally. [37:17] Luis Robert Jr. showing signs of life over the weekend[42:30] Our impressions of watching major league games in a minor league ballpark[45:58] Series Preview: Milwaukee Brewers. The Brew Crew struggle on the road but run at will. Can Edgar Quero help defend against the running game?[54:31] Around MLB: Detroit Tigers have the best record in baseball, the Colorado Rockies will challenge 121 losses, and the Baltimore Orioles are in serious trouble.
Looks like rain arrives around noon today & continues through the evening & overnight. Lawn is going to be an absolute jungle by Saturday! And speaking of lawns, we checked in to make sure you're mowing correctly. In the news this morning, a guilty verdict for a La Crosse man who forced a woman into prostitution to repay her debt to him, an update on the suspended commander at Fort McCoy, the WI DOT has revoked a bunch of licenses for car dealerships throughout the state, and more info on the NFL draft in Green Bay this weekend. In sports, the Brew Crew dropped another one to the Giants last night, the NBA playoffs continued, and the NHL playoffs also kept chugging along. Sad news out of the NFL as Bears legend and football Hall of Famer Steve "Mongo" McMichael passed away yesterday after battling ALS. Elsewhere in sports, we took a look at the upcoming schedule for the NBA & NHL playoffs, and we talked about Faith Kipyegon attempting to break the 4-minute mile barrier. Good luck, yo! Today is "National Pigs in a Blanket Day", so celebrate with some weenies in a crescent roll! We let you know what's on the boob tube today/tonight and talked about the upcoming Pee Wee Herman documentary. Plus, a cool story about a good Samaritan that helped a fellow runner during the Boston Marathon on Monday. It is "Hypothetical Thursday" today, and Jean's question for Brian was: "If you could experience any natural disaster & live, which one would you choose?" Brian's question for Jean was: "If you could cure cancer by pressing a button, but one random person would have to die, would you do it?" Office Cora joined us just after 8am to talk about what she's doing this weekend in the 715, and a former tennis legend is now trying out pickleball. It's Liberation Day in America as President Trump's tariffs go in effect world wide. Unlike election day, we aren't going to see results at the end of the day. But, we are starting to see countries step up and say they are ending their tariffs against us. We break down what may happen with all this. The left has a new media hoax about a "Maryland dad" that was sent to prison in El Salvador by mistake. This may be the biggest whopper of them all. Trump dines with comedian and critic Bill Maher along with Kid Rock and Dana White. According to Rock, it was simply amazing. Iceman and Batman actor Val Kilmer dies at age 65. The Chiefs have extended at least one contract to purchase land in Kansas. The Royals bats go silent against the Brew Crew. KU cancels its basketball banquet and the biggest story of the Final Four this week is the Auburn cheerleaders. For our Final Final, you need Carolina on your mind for free food at a football game.

Whether it's dry or wet January, the Eagles are still all we can focus on. A full CREW of Hoagie Mouth OGs welcome you to another week in Philadephia sportsdom. The only thing we can really focus on is the Eagles. Who was your favorite player last week? What was the ONE REASON they won? Is it Jayden Daniel or Daniels? These and other pressing questions are answered by Ned, Bob, Mike L and your host Jeff as we traverse through our feelings and thoughts around the 24/25 Eagles. One more win, and we are BACK in the big game. We spent like 3 minutes on the Sixers, and it speaks for itself. Jeff again valiantly explains hockey and the latest for the Flyers (it could be good? we are close the wild card??!?!). Want to hear a topic that we didn't cover? EMAIL US. Also, pray for LA folks. Jim Rutledge and Matt Hamilton raise a Coors Light to the exciting news that 100.5 ESPN is becoming Madison's new home of the Milwaukee Brewers! To help raise a glass to the Brew Crew, GKB founder and CEO Craig Karmazin joins Jim and Matt to discuss why he's so excited to bring Brewers baseball -- aka "the No. 1 soundtrack in Wisconsin" -- to ESPN Madison. They also discuss the beginnings of GKB from the first idea in a small bar similar to Tanner's, having the Brewers, Bucks, Badgers Volleyball, and Barry Alvarez all on ESPN Madison, and Matt describes his experience throwing out the first pitch at a Brewers game and why Pat Murphy should let Matt play center field.
Jim Rutledge and Matt Hamilton broadcast live from Tanner's in Middleton as they raise a Coors Light to the exciting news that 100.5 ESPN is becoming Madison's new home of the Milwaukee Brewers! Jim and Matt continue on asking the fans for their favorite thing about Brewers baseball -- Bob Uecker, tailgating, Bernie Brewer's slide, or the sausage race. Matt explains why he still brings a mitt to ball games, and they get a peak into the secret of who runs in those sausage suits. During What Matt Missed, Jim and producer Primetime quiz Matt on out-of-context audio clips about some of the biggest stories in sports, including a reigning Manager of the Year on Wilde & Tausch, an NFL legend joining the collegiate coaching ranks, and a washed QB who "other'd" his own team for its 14-year playoff drought. Jim also quizzes the fans on one of his favorite topics -- a classic song and which movie it belongs in.

On this episode of A One Pint Stand, I sit down with the brew crew at HeadFlyer Brewing, Tim Collins Mattson and Sophia Missaghi. We talked about how they have put their own stamp on the beer lineup at HeadFlyer, all the while, keeping the things that regulars loved from before. The beer chat is as scintillating as the Pink Pony Club German Pilsner that we drank off the tank, so give a listen! Are we watching the best October baseball in years? Both AL and NL series have featured epic moments and Javi and Petey break them all down. Is Giancarlo Stanton a lock for the Hall of Fame? What is Juan Soto's next contract going to look like? Will there be a Game 7 in Los Angeles or are Shohei Ohtani and the Hollywood stars too much for the Mets? Then the Mafia is joined by Milwaukee Brewers analyst Tim Dillard (27:50). Dillard discusses the Brew Crew's season, their series against the Mets, and his transition to the broadcast booth. Tim even looks ahead to 2025 and expectations for the Brewers next season.

Casey's on his way to Pearl Jam at the Garden & Chinch had Mr & Mrs Met at his house over the weekend. But enough about them - the Playoff Races and MVP Debates are heating up! The great Francisco Lindor of the Mets vs Shohei Ohtani of the Dodgers MVP debate is coming down to a simple question of "to play a position or to not play a position" - Casey weighs in with his thoughts. The Brewers have one of the best home field advantages in the game, have some serious mojo, and have some stars that may not be talked about enough - unless you watch us. Case we give major love to the Brew Crew today. Plus, high school teammates Jack Leiter & Anthony Volpe square off for the first time in their careers and it was chills all evening. We dive into that matchup. Hit up our Youtube page & subscribe for some giveaways: https://youtu.be/IEyC_xSZSxc https://bleav.com/
Don't look now but Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers are in a dogfight with the Padres and the Dbacks who are each just 2 games out in the NL East. Can you IMAGINE if the Dodgers spent 1 BILLION dollars on TWO guys this past off-season and DON'T win the NL West? We can and we discuss! The stars align this weekend in the Midwest as Elly De La Cruz & Bobby Witt Jr go head-to-head in, not only a showcase of 2 of the most exciting young players in baseball, but also 2 teams digging in to their respective playoff races! We handicap the series and compare/contrast the 2 stars. Plus, huge bummer news - one of our favorites and one of the best players in the game, Christian Yelich is out for the season. We dig in on whether the Brew Crew can hang in their without their leader. Bleav Also make sure to subscribe to our Youtube page below! https://www.youtube.com/@themayorsofficewithseancasey
