Paige brings on Alex and Danielle to chat about Danielle's upcoming solo show, The Mysteries That Were Ours that will be on view 10/9/24 - 11/9/24 at Salon 21 - the chic, salon-style gallery in SOHO New York. This conversation reveals stories around transparency, vulnerability, imposter syndrom and the triumphs and tribulations of being a women in a historically male dominated industry.Alex Bass is the founder of Salon 21. Alex has a passion for making art and design more approachable, and she created Salon 21 to bring the spirit of the 18th-century salons to modern-day NYC. Where she hosts exhibitions of contemporary artists, Artist panels, workshops, and cocktail parties. Alex believes that art should be lived with and her space exemplifies this philosophy. She can share insights on curating cultural experiences and spotlighting emerging artists. Daniel is a painter with roots in photography and new media whose cinematic, textured, and vibrant paintings feature whimsical worlds of fantastical creatures and imagined destinations. Working with oil and acrylic on a large scale, she weaves intricate female-centric narratives within her paintings, which are often tinged with humor and satire. She playfully uses references from theater, film, books, architecture and art history in order to create imaginary worlds that feel familiar and nostalgic to us, while playing on our desire and longing to escape.Kosann's paintings are sold in a gallery at the iconic Bergdorf Goodman store in New York City. She recently had her first solo exhibition at Rosenbaum Contemporary Palm Beach in February 2024, Her work is also on permanent view at The Carlyle Hotel in New York City and has an upcoming solo exhibition at Salon 21 in New York City in October. Her work is also on permanent view at The Carlyle Hotel in New York City. The central theme of Danielle's upcoming solo show, The Mysteries That Were Ours revolves around the pursuit of freedom and the desire to escape, particularly as it pertains to women. The exhibition is composed of 18 paintings, 15 of which fit together as an installation to comprise one large scene. The paintings work together to explore the transformative journeys that women undertake, showcasing an imagined world in which women thrive without societal boundaries.https://www.salontwenty-one.comhttps://daniellekosann.com

“I realized this was the first period of time in about two years that I had a true sense of joy,” says Karen Robinovitz, co-founder of Sloomoo Institute, a 12,000 square-foot experiential space in SoHo New York based around interacting with slime, which she launched in October of 2019 with co-founder Sara Schiller. In 2018 while the two were playing with slime, Karen discovered that the sensory immersion brought her– for the first time - into the present and out of her crippling state of grief after the loss of two close family members. Sarah, who was caring for a neuro-divergent daughter and cognitively and physically impaired husband, saw slime as an opportunity for neuro-diverse inclusion. For everyone, adults and children alike, slime presented a chance to engage all five senses, connect with each other and experience joy, all of which positively impact mental health. With Karen's background in the world of influencer marketing, the space quickly took off and now Sloomoo Institute has locations in Chicago and Atlanta. Top takeaways from today's episode:Pay it forwardTap into your network and utilize the resources that are right in front of youYou want a natural word of mouth representation from an influencer or from anyone who comes to experience what you have to offerGet it 80 percent right and go and don't look back; iterate as you move forward. Get it right and go and do not do not look back. Iterate as you move forward.” (42:00-42:16 | Sara) • “You have to jump out of the nest and just trust that you will fly. And if you don't, and you break your leg, you will pick yourself back up and get back up to the tree and do it again.” (43:18-43:27 | Karen) Connect with Sara Schiller and Karen Robinovitz:Website | http://www.sloomooinstitute.comInstagram | http://www.instagram.com/sloomooinstitutePlease don't forget to rate, comment, and subscribe to Dear FoundHer... at http://www.ratethispodcast.com/dearfoundher. Why are wineries taken during war? The Germans invaded France and held up in Bordeaux and other places. The Romans did the same. And in modern history, the Azerbaijans did it to the Armenians. History repeats itself. This is the second story we have heard heard on Wine Talks of the very taking of a winery in the region. This one is a bit different, it was taken by force rather than through political boundary changes. The Kaprelian family is resilient. They will not allow the spirit of their ancestors be squelched. They are rising up again to reestablish the Takri brand. I met up with Alexandra Kaprelian in Soho New York at the Soho Club to have a chat.

Episode 30: Frendy would describe growing up in Haiti as a “nurturing environment”. He was raised in a household that was also home to his mother, father, grandmother, aunts and uncles. He was always happy. From this upbringing, he grew to become very empathetic and due to that, has always built a strong connection with people. While attending Brooklyn College, he found a love for acting but eventually had to leave school due to financial reasons. From there, he started chasing his dreams. On his third attempt applying to BAPE, a streetwear clothing company located in SoHo New York, he finally landed the job and turned the second floor of the store into his “office” as he created an environment for people to connect, build and bring energy. Along the path of following his passions and chasing what he felt was right for him, he created and launched his personal brand “Frndy Lmrn” along with a blog and merch that gave his fans a “feel good” vibe when rocking it. No matter what life throws at him, he continuously reminds himself of how his mother and father came to this country with absolutely nothing and made it work, which keeps him humble. We talk about being featured in Forbes Magazine, meeting new people and making them feel happy, building a personal brand in 2017, staying optimistic and ready for your opportunity at any moment, perceiving situations as a benefit versus a loss, not being able to save someone that doesn't want to be saved and staying committed to something. — Subscribe to our YouTube Channel for new interviews (and more) weekly: http://bit.ly/2zprpon Follow us on Soundcloud: http://bit.ly/2hcSBws Subscribe to iTunes: http://apple.co/2yE0u9l Follow us on social media: Instagram: http://bit.ly/2j82AHF Follow Bobbbaaaay on social media: Instagram: http://bit.ly/2Ap24ce Twitter: http://bit.ly/2hj6Ljm
