Astronomy Daily · S05E146 · “Postcards from Mars” · Tuesday 21 July 2026 NASA's Psyche probe phones home from its Mars flyby — data and a spellbinding month-long time-lapse — as Europe's Plato planet-hunter clears its final test. From the Royal Astronomical Society's National Astronomy Meeting: a CubeSat that could give us hours of solar-storm warning, and a new way to forecast the Sun's next active spell. Plus the first pieces of the giant ngVLA radio array, and a Southern Hemisphere meteor shower to catch this week.Story notes & sources 1 · Psyche phones home NASA's Psyche spacecraft (launched 2023; arriving metal asteroid 16 Psyche in 2029) used a 15 May Mars gravity assist to test its instruments. The neutron spectrometer detected the anticipated count-rate enhancement near closest approach; the gamma-ray/neutron spectrometer, magnetometer and imager all performed well. Data and a month-long Mars time-lapse were released this week. ●        NASA/JPL — “Psyche Mission Delivers Mars Flyby Data, Time-lapse Video” (17 Jul 2026) ●        Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory — LLNL-built gamma-ray sensor's first planetary measurements (17 Jul 2026) 2 · Plato clears its final exam ESA's Plato — 26 cameras hunting Earth-like planets in the habitable zones of Sun-like stars — passed electromagnetic compatibility testing in the Maxwell chamber at ESTEC, its last major qualification hurdle. It's bound for Sun-Earth L2 aboard an Ariane 6 (current target 2027). ●        ESA — “Plato's electronics ready for space” (20 Jul 2026) 3 · HENON space-weather CubeSat Presented at NAM 2026: HENON, a deep-space CubeSat that would sit ~15 million km upstream of Earth (10× farther than L1), potentially extending severe geomagnetic-storm warning from ~15 minutes to 2–3 hours. It carries the UK-built MAGIC magnetometer (Imperial College London) plus instruments from the Czech Republic and Finland, paving the way for a future European early-warning mission. ●        Royal Astronomical Society / NAM 2026 — “From 15 minutes to 3 hours” (20 Jul 2026) 4 · The Sun's “sleep” precursor Also at NAM 2026: a newly identified precursor in the solar cycle's declining phase that could help predict the next maximum's sunspot number. After the Sun's active phase “switches off,” storms weaken and track a 27-day (solar-rotation) rhythm — pointing to co-rotating fast-wind streams rather than coronal mass ejections. ●        Royal Astronomical Society / NAM 2026 — “How the Sun goes to ‘sleep'…” (20 Jul 2026) 5 · Building the ngVLA The US National Science Foundation, NSF NRAO and the US Naval Observatory are partnering on a pathfinder for the next-generation Very Large Array (ngVLA) — the ~266-antenna successor to the iconic VLA. The focus is very long baseline interferometry for ultra-sharp imaging and for maintaining the International Celestial Reference Frame. Construction/early operations are expected before the end of the decade. ●        NSF NRAO / US Naval Observatory — ngVLA pathfinder partnership (17 Jul 2026) 6 · Skywatch: Southern Delta Aquariids Active mid-July to late August, peaking 29–30 July, with a radiant near Skat (δ Aquarii) — high overhead for Southern Hemisphere observers. ~15–20 faint, graceful meteors/hour under dark skies; suspected parent comet 96P/Machholz. A near-full Buck Moon spoils the peak, so the moon-free pre-dawn hours this week are the best window. Bright, slow Alpha Capricornid fireballs join in toward month's end. ●        Scientific American / EarthSky / American Meteor Society — Delta Aquariids 2026 Astronomy Daily is part of the Bitesz.com Podcast Network. Jeffrey Epstein used his access to powerful people and institutions to secure a $25 million payment from Edmond de Rothschild's Swiss private bank during a federal investigation into whether the bank helped wealthy Americans hide assets from the IRS. Epstein introduced the bank's leader, Ariane de Rothschild, to former Obama White House counsel Kathy Ruemmler, who had recently returned to Latham & Watkins. Ruemmler and her legal team conducted the substantive work of reviewing bank records and negotiating with the Justice Department, while Epstein remained involved behind the scenes as a connector and adviser. Documents show Epstein arranged a compensation structure tied to the size of the bank's eventual penalty, with his payment increasing to $25 million if the settlement came in below $100 million. The bank ultimately agreed to pay approximately $45.5 million, allowing Epstein to collect the maximum fee even though the law firms representing the bank reportedly received only about $10 million combined. The arrangement also provides new insight into Epstein's close relationship with Ruemmler, who is scheduled to answer questions before the House Oversight Committee. Emails indicate Epstein introduced her to influential figures including Bill Gates, Peter Thiel and Ehud Barak, while Ruemmler sometimes referred to him as “Uncle Jeffrey” and accepted expensive gifts from him. Although one source said Epstein had no direct role in the detailed legal work, Ruemmler discussed hiring him as a consultant through her firm, partly to protect their communications through attorney-client privilege. Ruemmler has maintained that she knew Epstein only while working in private practice, saw no evidence that he was continuing to abuse women and had no knowledge of ongoing criminal activity. The documents nevertheless show how Epstein transformed introductions, perceived expertise and elite relationships into enormous profits while preserving his influence years after becoming a registered sex offender.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:How Jeffrey Epstein parlayed his elite network into a $25 million payday - CBS News

A Cindy é a autora do texto. O espectáculo quer falar simultaneamente a várias gerações? “Sim, sim, totalmente.

This weekend's Astronomy Daily wraps up the biggest stories from across the cosmos, starting with two completely fresh discoveries — a 1976 ocean rock that's turned out to hold atomic-scale proof of an ancient neutron star collision, and a record-breaking rocket launch from Europe's Ariane 6. Then we wind back through the week for our four biggest headlines: a new crew for Artemis III, JWST's salty 'Pink Planet' discovery, an update on the daring Swift Observatory rescue mission, and China's Tianwen-2 closing in on its target asteroid.   Story 1: A Kilonova's Fingerprint, Found in a 1976 Ocean Rock •       A rock sample dredged from the Pacific seafloor in 1976 has been found to contain a few hundred atoms of plutonium radioisotopes. •       The plutonium originated from a kilonova — a collision between two neutron stars — that occurred over 100 million years ago. •       Stellar debris from the merger settled to Earth and was slowly incorporated into a ferromanganese crust on the ocean floor. •       Isotope ratios provide the strongest physical clues yet to what created the elements and roughly when the merger occurred. •       Study published 18 June 2026.   Story 2: Ariane 6 Smashes Its Own Heaviest-Payload Record •       On 17 June 2026, an Ariane 64 rocket launched 36 Amazon Leo satellites from French Guiana (mission VA269 / LE-03). •       First flight of new P160C solid boosters — about a metre longer than the previous P120C, holding up to 156 tonnes of propellant each. •       Boosters deliver roughly a 10% performance increase, raising Ariane 64's LEO capacity to approximately 22 tonnes. •       The mission broke the 13-year record for heaviest payload ever launched by an Ariane rocket, previously held by the 2013 ATV 'Albert Einstein' resupply flight. •       Eighth Ariane 6 launch overall; 100th Amazon Leo satellite deployed by Arianespace.   Story 3: Artemis III Crew Revealed •       NASA announced the Artemis III crew on 9 June 2026 at Johnson Space Center: Commander Randy Bresnik, Pilot Luca Parmitano (ESA), and Mission Specialists Frank Rubio and Andre Douglas, with Bob Hines as backup. •       The Artemis II crew (Wiseman, Glover, Koch, Hansen) symbolically passed their lunar baton to the new crew. •       Artemis III is a two-week test flight in low Earth orbit to test docking procedures between Orion and commercial landers from SpaceX and Blue Origin. •       Targeted for launch as early as late 2027, ahead of a planned lunar surface landing in 2028. •       Will be Andre Douglas's first spaceflight.   Story 4: JWST Cracks the 'Pink Planet' Mystery •       JWST has confirmed salt clouds in the atmosphere of GJ504b, the 'Pink Planet,' located 57 light-years away. •       First direct evidence of salt clouds on a cold substellar companion object, a phenomenon theorised 15 years ago. •       At approximately 550°F, GJ504b is the coldest companion object ever directly imaged. •       Its true nature remains uncertain — it may be a giant planet or a brown dwarf. •       Research led by a Northwestern University team.   Story 5: The Swift Rescue Mission Heads for the Pacific •       NASA's Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory (orbiting since 2004) faces premature reentry due to orbital decay accelerated by recent solar activity. •       Katalyst Space Technologies' LINK robotic servicing spacecraft will attempt to grapple and boost Swift to a safer ~600km orbit. •       LINK launches on a Northrop Grumman Pegasus XL rocket, carried by Stargazer, the last flying Lockheed L-1011 TriStar. •       Stargazer departed NASA Wallops Flight Facility on 18 June 2026, en route to Kwajalein Atoll via California and Hawai'i. •       Launch targeted for 27 June 2026; if successful, it will be the first capture of an unprepared US government satellite by a commercial vehicle.   Story 6: Tianwen-2 Closes In on Kamo'oalewa •       China's Tianwen-2 spacecraft, launched May 2025, completed orbital insertion at near-Earth asteroid Kamo'oalewa on 7 June 2026. •       Amateur radio trackers in Germany detected fine ion-engine course-correction burns between 11–14 June 2026. •       Rendezvous and sample collection are expected around 4 July 2026. •       Kamo'oalewa is a 40–100 metre quasi-satellite of Earth; its origin (possibly a lunar fragment) remains scientifically debated. •       After sample return, Tianwen-2 will travel on to rendezvous with comet 311P/PanSTARRS in 2035.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/astronomy-daily-space-news-updates--5648921/support.Sponsor Details:Ensure your online privacy by using NordVPN.

Kým Spojené štáty dominujú vďaka znovupoužiteľným raketám spoločností SpaceX a Blue Origin a Čína masívne investuje do vlastnej verzie Starshipu, Európa hľadá spôsob, ako nezaostať. Nemecko-francúzska spoločnosť The Exploration Company vyvíja vlastnú nákladnú kapsulu Nyx a výkonný metánový motor Storm, zatiaľ čo startup MaiaSpace plánuje štart svojej prvej čiastočne znovupoužiteľnej rakety už na rok 2027. French authorities have launched a corruption investigation centered on Fabrice Aidan, a former French diplomat whose name surfaced in more than 200 documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein. As part of that probe, investigators searched the Paris offices of the Swiss private bank Edmond de Rothschild, where Aidan worked after his diplomatic career. The documents include emails Aidan allegedly sent between 2010 and 2016 from both personal and United Nations accounts, with some reportedly containing confidential UN Security Council briefings and sensitive diplomatic material shared with Epstein. The investigation is focused on potential bribery and corruption involving a foreign public official, raising serious questions about how Epstein may have leveraged high-level political access in Europe. Aidan has denied any wrongdoing, while French authorities have already conducted an internal review involving dozens of interviews and are considering further legal or disciplinary action. The scandal has also drawn attention to broader ties between Epstein and figures connected to the Rothschild banking network, including years-long correspondence with CEO Ariane de Rothschild, further intensifying scrutiny of how financial and diplomatic circles intersected with Epstein's operations.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:French arm of Swiss bank Edmond de Rothschild searched by authorities in Epstein-related probe | The IndependentBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-epstein-chronicles--5003294/support.

On today's episode of The Wholesome Fertility Podcast, I'm joined by Ariane de Bonvoisin (@arianedebonvoisin), author of Spirit Mama, to explore the deeper connection between the mind, body, and spirit in the fertility journey. Ariane shares her personal story from corporate success to navigating fertility challenges including miscarriage and IVF, and how it led her to redefine what it means to become a mother. We discuss the hidden emotional patterns like control, perfection, and self-judgment, and how awareness of these can create powerful shifts. We also dive into reconnecting with the body, trusting your inner voice, and cultivating a relationship with something greater than yourself. This conversation offers a more compassionate, holistic perspective for anyone feeling like something is missing from the conventional fertility approach. Key Takeaways:  Fertility is not just physical; emotional and spiritual factors matter. Control, perfection, and self-judgment can block natural flow. Reconnecting with your body is essential for conception. Awareness and self-compassion create powerful internal shifts. Your relationship with life influences your fertility journey. There are many ways to "mother" beyond physical birth. Guest Bio:  Ariane de Bonvoisin (@arianedebonvoisin) is an author, elite coach, and speaker who lives globally between New York, Switzerland, and Cape Town with her partner Alfie and their 12-year-old son Everest. She specializes in helping people navigate major life transitions and is now bringing that expertise to the fertility and motherhood journey through her Spirit Mama book series. She has spoken and coached at companies such as Google, Twitter, Morgan Stanley, Investec, The IDB, KPMG, L'Oreal, Amazon, Nestle, and Redbull amongst others, and has been a keynote at events including Oprah's Conference and Maria Shriver's Women's Conference. Beyond the corporate world, Ariane works with schools and teachers in the US and worldwide, doing readings and fun workshops with kids and educators, speaking for the ASBO (Association of School Business Officials), and keynoting at Board of Education events. Her TED talk, "The Skills We Need to Teach Our Kids," has resonated with audiences worldwide. Ariane has appeared on dozens of TV and radio shows, including NBC's Today Show, the CBS Early Show, CNN, and ABC News Now.

Jeffrey Epstein was brought in directly by Ariane de Rothschild, the head of the Edmond de Rothschild Group, to assist as the bank navigated a U.S. Department of Justice investigation tied to tax evasion issues involving American clients. According to the records, Epstein was engaged as a consultant despite having no formal role within the bank, and he worked behind the scenes helping connect Ariane de Rothschild and her institution with influential legal figures while advising on strategy during the negotiations. His involvement was not incidental—he was deliberately brought into the process by leadership at the highest level of the bank.In return for that work, Epstein was paid handsomely. Financial documents show that he received roughly $25 million, routed through his own entities, for his role in assisting with the resolution of the DOJ matter. The arrangement highlights how, even after his 2008 conviction, Epstein was still being welcomed into elite financial circles and trusted by figures like Ariane de Rothschild to participate in sensitive, high-stakes negotiations with U.S. authorities—raising serious questions about judgment, risk tolerance, and the normalization of his presence in those environments.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:How Epstein earned $25 million from Swiss bank deal | Miami Herald

The scandal has also drawn attention to broader ties between Epstein and figures connected to the Rothschild banking network, including years-long correspondence with CEO Ariane de Rothschild, further intensifying scrutiny of how financial and diplomatic circles intersected with Epstein's operations.to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:French arm of Swiss bank Edmond de Rothschild searched by authorities in Epstein-related probe | The Independent
