What's up everybody! Sorry for the long wait but we're back and hopefully (probably not) better than ever! This episode I'm just getting my feet wet into this podcasting thing again (What a strange saying. There aren't many instances where I'd want wet feet). This is Spoilerish, I don't go too in depth but check the list below for everything I'm gonna talk about! I'm not putting in time stamps though, you get what you get until I have an assistant. Then I'll make them do stuff like that. Enjoy! WandaVision (not spoiled at all) Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Kinda spoiled) Invincible (heavier on the spoilers) Snyder Cut (Spoiler Adjacent) Last Chance U (Not really spoiled) Song for the intro is Petty Again by TR3 Taylor (Letters From Sasha EP now out on all platforms!)
This week I give a non-spoilerish review of Spider-Man: Far from Home, talk about the next installment of the DCAMU with Batman & Son, and then discuss the surprisingly last issue of The Walking Dead Comic. This is definitely my best episode.
Episode 2 sees our friend, Nick Sax, fail horribly at keeping his promises at staying straight and sober. It all starts when his ex-wife can't block the visions of what happened to her in season 1. She drops Hailey off with Nick unexpectedly. He is not prepared for a day with her. Mostly because there are human organs in his fridge that he plans to sell. Nick leans on Happy for advice on what to do with Hailey. After her traumatic kidnap experience in season 1 she hasn't been able to see her imaginary friend. Happy suggests they go to build a bear. Hailey is bored out of her mind which goes to prove she has outgrown Happy. Nick takes her to see horses at an Off Track Betting (OTB) business. They start by betting imaginary money on horses. Realizing it was a bad move, Nick leaves with Hailey only to be confronted by someone that threatens his family if he doesn't pull a job for him. Long story short, Nick ends up killing a lot of people with Hailey in the car. She seems okay with it as long as he is truthful with her, which he isn't. He doesn't want to corrupt her with his lifestyle. This episode carries on with the wacky humor and over the top gore. There's just something about an imaginary friend chastising you as you commit unspeakable crimes. Oh yea, the Sonny Shine/Smoothie story line gets a little creepier also. Can't wait to see where this season ends up. Did you enjoy episode 2 as much as us? Do you like Happy even though you can't explain why? Let us know in the comments. The first season of Happy on SyFy was a pleasant surprise for me. All the previews looked really silly and didn't do much to capture my interest. On a whim I decided to give the first episode a view. All I can say is WOW! I immediately binged the whole first season. I learned that Grant Morrison was one of the creators of the show and it all made sense. I told everyone I know to watch Happy. The interaction between Patton Oswalt(Happy) and Christopher Meloni(Nick Sax) just seems to work so well. If you didn't watch Season 1 let me get you up to speed. Chris Meloni is an ex-cop that has a drug, alcohol, and violence problem. His daughter ends up being abducted by a weird villain called "Very Bad Santa". He has connections to the bigger bad guys "Smoothie" and "Sonny Shine". Nick's daughter has an imaginary friend named Happy. Happy seeks out Nick to help him rescue her. For some reason, Nick is an adult that can see and talk to imaginary friends. If that sounds weird... it gets better. That is enough to give you the where and how about Happy. For more you'll just have to watch season 1 for yourself. So, at the end of Season 1 Nick is reunited with his ex-wife and daughter. He wants to have a relationship with his daughter so he pledges to clean up his act. Season 2 starts with Nick stopping drinking, drugging, and whoring. He even gets a steady job, albeit as a cab driver. The first episode does a good job of setting up Nick's internal conflict of his past life and his desire to be a better man and father. We also learn that Smoothie and Sonny Shine are still around and up to no good. Looks like season 2 will be just as twisted and enjoyable as the first season. Thank you , Grant Morrison. Did you watch Happy? Did you enjoy it as much as we did? Or did you think it was just meh? Let us know in the comments.
