Listen along to the Rants From the Black Lodge Podcast as the dig up the beloved big screen adaptation of Stephen King's Pet Sematary. However, to properly celebrate the film's 30th Anniversary we had to call in for reinforcements and the call was answered by everyone's favorite lil slice of roadkill, Miko Hughes aka Gage Creed. This episode is a good one so, sit back, laugh and learn about all things Stephen King and Pet Sematary with Brandon and Stankdik Eddy.Note: We experienced a few audio glitches during the recording of this episode so a few seconds were trimmed here and there to fix these issues. Because of this, if you choose to watch the film along with the commentary the syncing maybe slightly off but not to a degree that will ruin the experience.Host: Brandon A. We dive into the novel, the 1989 film by Mary Lambert, the recent 2019 release, and even a few words about the BBC radio drama before tackling a sensitive and vulnerable conversation about why we are so ill-equipped to deal with grief. This is easily one of my most anticipated guests to have on the show so far. Granted we focus mainly on the fact that she's starring in the new reimagining of Stephen King's Pet Sematary, directed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer, which just opened today in theaters everywhere. But for those who know me personally, a film that she starred in a few years ago, is actually my 2nd favorite of all time. Shane Carruth's Upstream Color has had a monumental impact on me in a myriad of ways so of course, towards the end, I had to inquire further. Most folks might know her as Jane Ives from Stranger Things but check out her extensive IMDB page - she's worked some of the best directors out there. We also talk about Stephen King, growing up on horror, losing a parent, what Amy is working on next and so much more. Again, can't say enough kind words about today's guest and truly hope you enjoy our talk as much as I did. 00:00 - 06:44 - Intro 06:45 - 30:24 - Interview w/Amy 30:25 - 31:00 - Outro Check out Pet Sematary: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0837563/ More about Amy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amy_Seimetz

Dan and Garrett ring in the New Year and prepare for the upcoming remake with a first time watch of Mary Lambert's 1989 adaptation of Stephen King's PET SEMATARY. For a change of pace, we cover one of the greatest worst of the Stephen King film adaptations, _Pet Sematary,_ a movie about how dire warnings from the dead and near-dead becoming the most compelling advice ever. The film is shot better and acted worse than you remember. Also, the main character is a complete jerk to cats for the entire movie and thus deserves what's coming to him. - Watch _Garth Marenghi's Darkplace_ here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8EkN8WtFTpE&list=PLC046BB28463E1459 - MTV News coverage of the Ramones filming the vid for "Pet Sematary" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VEDYG1tlezk - Recs: - Castle Rock - Horizon: Zero Dawn - Patriot - Sincere Engineer's "Rhombithian" - https://sincereengineer.bandcamp.com/album/rhombithian - - Check out Nat's podcast Metamashina: https://metamashina.com/ - Follow Jacob on Twitch! https://www.twitch.tv/jacobmercy - @ashesforfoxes @givingthemic - Questions/comments/suggestions for great local Korean food: givingthemic@gmail.com - http://facebook.com/givingthemic/ - Help us make the show! http://www.patreon.com/givingthemic - - - - Main theme by The Mysterious Breakfast'r Cereal on SoundCloud @chiptheme - - All items trademarked and copyright their respective owners.
