Sue “Pinky” Benson is a Realtor with RE/MAX with more than a decade of experience in the real estate industry. Working side by side with her husband Josh in Naples, Florida, she has maximized video and social media to grow her business tremendously. In the last five years Sue has doubled her business year over year because of the power of video and social media.Lessons learned: Use social media and video to grow awareness – use what is free and in front of you. Facebook Live is a great tool that doesn't require editing! Video is what is expected of you as an agent. You have to get over your hesitations and just do it. People are going to judge you regardless, so don't let that hold you back. Instagram is also a great tool for building your brand – utilize stories, the feed and reels! Original content is key. Put your face in your stories and frame them with a beginning, middle and end. Additional resources: Connect with Pinky on Instagram and at her website. In this episode of the "10/4 @ R4 Podcast", our guest is Sue "Pinky" Benson of RE/MAX Realty Team in Naples, Florida. This is my (Michael's) opinion ... "This industry has a problem ... a BIG problem ... and there is no one to blame for it. Here it is ... this industry is horrible at defining "success". It has one metric and one metric only ... money. Our awards and milestones are all based on money and for the majority of the people in our (I'm guessing), their version of success is as varied as the individuals themselves. In recent years, I've come to clearly define what success is for me ... and the transformative impact that has had on me professionally and personally is enormous."Sue, shares with us her incredible emotional and inspiring pursuit of success ... for her. We hope this helps you push away from the definition of success that is continuously placed upon us by our industry and incites you to define success for you. Then ... pursue your success with reckless abandonment. During the "R4 Rapid 4", Sue shares her leadership plans for the zombie apocalypse. Here's a hint ... pink! Here is a link to Sue's blog post entitled "Becoming 100% ... again.", that we discuss in the podcast. You can follow and watch the series at REVideoStudio.com.Join us again next week for a new episode. Thank you for listening!
A few years ago I was at Inman Connect in San Francisco, I actually happened to be keynoting the Marketing Track at that one...and while my buddy Jason Frazier and I were headed out for dinner one night, he took notice of his friend Pinky (as he called her) was recording a video interviewing someone else right there on the street corner. So naturally, I'm like - why do you call her Pinky? He looks at me, chuckles, and says "that's her name". So I looked back at him like "really!?!". He then says, well, her name is Sue but she brands herself as Pinky. And that's when the light bulb went off, or the "pink light bulb" as she calls it...and I noticed her hair was pink, and she was wearing all pink. So with that, I was intrigued and had to learn more - She's been a registered REALTOR in the State of Florida for a decade now. Along with selling real estate in Naples, she is a national speaker on Video and Social Media Marketing, and has taught thousands of agents how to build their business by using the power of video on different social media platforms. She's spoken at RE/MAX's Mid State and Dixie Region, RE/MAX National Convention, Inman Convention, and various brokerages and MLS boards across the united states. She is three time winner of BombBomb's Real Estate Agent Video Influencer Award (2019,2018,2017) and she uses Video to help her sell a ton of real estate. Featured in RE/MAX's "Above", the company's national magazine, along with the National Association of Realtors Magazine, and Florida Realtor Magazine, in June 2018 she was recognized as a top Real Estate Video Rockstar. She says that Videos are her passion and she loves to share them with her followers as she talks about her community in Naples Florida, and about her Real Estate business, branding her content as "Pinky Knows Naples". On this episode of The MindShare PodCast, I am joined by Sue Pinky Benson, and together we are going to help you build MindShare as we discuss ‘How to be a Video Rockstar'. Video is one of the most engaging ways to create content. Plus, since our audience can see us, the level of trust we build is higher. How is creating video content for social media platforms different from what we see on television? What equipment do we need? Most importantly, what kinds of topics should we cover to attract as many viewers as possible? In this episode, Sue "Pinky" Benson talks about how she generates leads and builds trust in a highly competitive market by using video. Answering common questions for video content are easy, ‘low-hanging fruit’. -Sue “Pinky” Benson Takeaways + Tactics Being authentic and using a vlogging style is more relatable and friendly to viewers. Being genuine gains more trust. Real estate agents often invest too much into creating a professional persona, and most clients see it as “trying too hard”. Our audience dictates our behavior on camera, and it depends on our demographic. If we want to make video work for us, we have to ask ourselves, “What clients do we want to work with?”. Millenials don’t want to be sold to. They want a real person, and not a salesman. In the beginning of the episode, we talked about how agents should present themselves on camera and why we don’t have to emulate the people we see on television. Next, we talked about the importance of figuring out what audience we want to reach and how this will decide the type of content we create. We also shared insights on: How social media promotions work and why consistency is vital Why sharing political views or religious views might alienate some of our prospects and make us lose business Why we don’t need expensive equipment and editing tools to make make good videos Video marketing is all about building trust and showing our audience that we have the answers to their questions. What helps our message truly get through the screen is speaking the language of our audience. The demographic of our ideal client is what determines the tone, language used, and content delivery. Guest bio Sue "Pinky" Benson is a real estate video influencer, speaker, and real estate agent in Naples, Florida.
