Northam is a small town approximately 100KM East of Perth. During WW2 it supported the US Navy's 7th Fleet operating out of Fremantle. The nearby locality of Springhill housed the bunkers of the '7 Naval Ammunition Depot' (7 NAD) storing ordnance the US, British and Dutch submarines needed to take the war to the Japanese. Torpedoes, shells, small arms and explosives were housed there and shipped by rail to the port at Fremantle. 7 NAD was one of three US Naval Ammunition Depots throughout Australia, the others being at Mount Coot-tha, Brisbane and Newington, Sydney.

Why did one of progressive metal's most legendary mad scientists walk away from traditional collaboration to protect his own creative sanity? On this week's episode of The Loaded Radio Podcast, host Scott Penfold sits down with the incomparable Devin Townsend following the highly anticipated release of his massive, 24-track rock opera project, The Moth. In an incredibly open and elaborate conversation, Devin delves into the intense physical pain and personal life transformations that completely derailed and reshaped the direction of this decade-in-the-making symphonic masterpiece. Devin also takes a raw look back at his '90s catalog, reflecting on how he feels today about fronting Strapping Young Lad and stepping onto the global stage alongside Steve Vai for the infamous Sex & Religion album. While he reveals that his current relationship with Vai is excellent, Devin drops a bombshell truth about his creative process, admitting that he actually "does his friends favors by not working with them" because of how difficult he can be in the studio unless he maintains total control. Voices From The Underground Segment: In the second half of the show, we shift our focus to the grassroots independent scene. Scott catches up with Niko and Thursday from the rising Spring Hill, Florida-based original metal band Silver Bullet Smile . We discuss their breakout success on the unsigned charts, their studio workflow crafting thunderous tracks like "Man In The Moon", and the absolute grit required to break through the modern underground metal circuit. In This Episode: Devin Townsend Interview: Shifting The Moth through personal turmoil, the reality of studio control, and the legacy of Strapping Young Lad and Steve Vai. It is impossible to ignore what Tidal Brewing in Spring Hill used to be in a former life. The gas station pumps have long since been removed but the overhang remains, as well as the separate car wash that has been turned into a brewhouse. And an award-winning brewhosue, no less. That work was done by owners Dave and Maxine Peitzman, both former teachers in Hernando County turned brewmaster and tap room manager for one of the area's hottest breweries. I sat down with Dave and Maxine to discuss beer in the region, how Tidal reflected their own backgrounds in education, and the joys of converting a car wash to a brewhouse. For anyone still labouring under the impression that New Zealand is an innocent little place like it was 50 years ago, those prison busts should absolutely shatter that delusion. What happened was the single biggest bust in our prison system: 20 people arrested and charged across three different prisons - Mount Eden, Spring Hill and Auckland South. They have been charged with allegedly smuggling meth and phones into prison in exchange for cash payments. There are bribery charges and there are allegations that prisoners were organising drug importation and transactions while still in jail. It is not just Corrections guards either, it is also senior officers. That is actually more worrying because it tells you this is not about junior staff just recruited who were not properly vetted. These are people who have been there for a while. These are people on decent money - the kind of money you would not necessarily expect to be corruptible. That is what a network looks like right there. And it is not just in our prisons, by the way, that this sort of thing is happening. We have just had a police officer busted for leaking intelligence to her Killer Beez boyfriend this year. We have had people busted at ports, baggage handlers caught at airports - and this is exactly what we have been warned about by the crime advisory group working with the Government, which produced a series of reports last year. They warned that corruption is rising and that insider threats - where trusted people are corrupted - are a rapidly growing problem. And it is growing rapidly. Think about this - it was 2011 when we had our first corrections officer in this country jailed for corruption. Fifteen years later, we have allegedly uncovered an entire network. And it is the gangs. It is the fact that we have more sophisticated gangs coming in from Australia. It is the high price of drugs here, which makes New Zealand a more lucrative place to do business. It is the relatively low wages we pay our prison guards, police officers and baggage handlers. If you still think we do not have a corruption problem, just look at what happened. Twenty people are not just a few bad apples - they are a sign that we are now like the rest of the world and we have a corruption problem. The acting head of Corrections says staff integrity is a priority, after revelations of a major prison corruption investigation. Twenty people have been charged, including 15 Corrections and Reintegration officers at Auckland's Mt Eden, Waikato's Spring Hill, and Auckland South Corrections facilities - and five members of the public. They're accused of smuggling phones, drugs and tobacco to prisoners in exchange for cash. Corrections' acting chief executive Rachel Leota says they will continue to support staff. "Work with our unions - and I met with them last night - there are many other things that we can be doing, and we will continue to commit to doing that to ensure our staff are safe." Stephen Nolan's no nonsense approach to confronting the biggest issues of the day
Springhill HeroesWhen I was a wee buck growing up in Ballymurphy there was a river at the back of the houses across from our home place at the corner of Glenalina Road and Divismore Park. The river ran the length of our street and the length of Ballymurphy Road before exiting below the Whiterock Road and into the City Cemetery. From there it meanders down to and under the Falls Road beside the Bus Depot and onwards to the Bog Meadows. You can see it there to this day. The stretch which used to border our street was long ago captured and incarcerated in a pipe below ground. Before then it was one of our favourite places to play. The Ordinance Survey maps name this rivulet as the Ballymurphy Stream. I can't find its Irish name. It rises in the mountain and cuts under the Springfield Road beneath a very high arch just up from our street. It used to be at its widest at that point. Perfect for jumping. Swinging across on a rope. Falling in. Catching frogs. Plastic sandals were all the go. Perfect for walking on water. Tiocfaidh ár láIt does not feel as if 45 years have passed since the death on 5 May 1981 of Bobby Sands on hunger strike. Bobby's death and that of his nine comrades changed so much in our struggle and opened up so many new opportunities that it is rightly viewed as a tipping point in recent Irish history. On Sunday former hunger striker Pat Sheehan MLA gave a wonderful speech at Bobby's statue in Twinbrook. The courage and heroism of the ten men who died and those who took part in the hunger strike, and of Michael Gaughan and Frank Stagg, are a huge part of our republican history. But we should never lose sight of the fact that Bobby and his comrades in the H-Blocks and in Armagh Women's Prison were more than political prisoners. They were family members, friends, neighbours. Comrades. They were ordinary young men and women who enjoyed life. Free Marwan BargoutiFreedom struggles across the globe have their heroes. Nelson Mandela, Che Guevara, Bobby Sands and in Palestine, Marwan Bargouti .Last September a mural celebrating Marwan's leadership and resistance to Israeli occupation and the oppression of the Palestinian people, was unveiled at the international wall on Bóthár na bhFál. Two weeks ago at the Ard Fheis I met with Marwan's son Arab. Since then we have spoken by zoom. His family and those, like me, who believe he should be released are fearful for his life.
A tiny course correction can change everything—our daily choices are quietly shaping a direction that leads somewhere. In Romans 6, Paul invites us to look honestly at the fruit of our lives and reminds us that we're not choosing isolated moments, but a trajectory that leads either toward death or toward life in Jesus. The good news is that through Christ, we've been set free to walk a new road—one formed not by what we earn, but by the gift of grace that leads to true life.Catch the sermon on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or bridge.tv/sermons.To support this ministry and help us continue our God given mission, click here: http://bit.ly/2NZkdrCSupport the show
It is Timothy Sunday! This is our annual Sunday where we highlight developing new leaders and have many elements of our service be lead by people filling new roles for the first time. Tim Anderson, a beloved member of Springhill, delivers a sermon on Luke 15.
Join us this week as we consider how God has not only saved us from sin, he has also taken our shame. How can we navigate a life filled with shame without Him? Praise the Lord Jesus for He took our shame upon Himself on the cross!

On the 245th episode of TOMCRE, Monte and CareyAnn celebrate nearly seven years of shows, reflect on how the podcast began as a radio program, and share hard‑won lessons from decades in real estate and mortgage. They unpack why what got you here won't get you there, how to thrive in a shifting market, and why mindset and structure are non‑negotiable for long‑term success. Monte also shares big personal news: he's transitioning full‑time to Florida, staying active in real estate there, while Carrie Anne and CMG prepare to evolve and modernize the podcast with a new home base and expanded guest lineup. In this episode of Talk of Music City Real Estate, CareyAnn and Monte sit down with Jonathan Harris to unpack a radically different way to list and sell homes in today's unpredictable market (2020–2025 and beyond). Jonathan explains why experience can become a blind spot, why price does NOT equal value, and how his Marketplace Method can help agents get nearly any home under contract in **10–14 days**—without sacrificing client trust or sales price. You'll hear how strategic starting prices, seller reserve prices, compressed open-house windows, and upfront inspections/appraisals can create transparent competition, more showings, stronger offers, and greater certainty for sellers. If you're listing homes the “old way,” this conversation will challenge everything you've been doing.- **[0:00:01] – Intro & Birthday Moment** Show opens, hosts re-introduce Talk of Music City Real Estate and wish **Monte** a happy birthday.- **[0:01:43] – Why Jonathan's Back** Monte explains why Jonathan is one of the “brightest minds” in real estate and why his perspective is needed now.- **[0:03:27] – Experience as a Blind Spot** Jonathan explains how 20+ years in real estate can *hurt* you if you don't challenge your assumptions.- **[0:04:50] – “Price Doesn't Equal Value”** Revisiting Jonathan's big idea: the only opinion of value that matters is the buyer who writes the check.- **[0:06:36] – Why Comps Mislead in 2020–2025** How erratic markets make traditional CMA thinking dangerous for sellers.- **[0:08:40] – List Price as Your #1 Marketing Tool** Using **20% below perceived value** to drive traffic and why **what gets shown gets sold**.- **[0:10:07] – Re‑Engineering 2021's Crazy Market** Deconstructing 2021: defined sales process, offer deadlines, maximum showings, underpricing and multiple offers.- **[0:14:31] – Never Sell to the First Buyer** Why you should avoid quick contracts and instead create a **7–14 day** window for competition.- **[0:18:46] – Transparent Competition & Upfront Inspections** How pre-listing inspections and clear timelines reduce fallout and renegotiations.- **[0:20:28] – Case Study: From 1.45M Stale to 1.3M Win** Listing stagnates at **$1.45M**, relists at **$950K**, pulls **81 showings** and nets **$1.3M** with a 7‑day close.- **[0:23:40] – Open-House-Only Strategy & 74/81 Without Agents** Why Jonathan banned first-week private showings and what happened when most buyers showed up unrepresented.- **[0:30:36] – Using Coming Soon Price Drops to Hit Every Buyer Pool** Tactical “coming soon” price changes to capture multiple price brackets without archiving reductions.- **[0:35:39] – The Three Phases: Build Demand, Discover Value, Decide** Jonathan's core Marketplace Method framework for every listing.- **[0:42:30] – Reserve Prices & Seller Control** What happens when offer numbers don't hit the reserve—and the three options sellers always have.- **[0:47:45] – Commissions, Net to Seller & Letting Buyers Add Agent Fees** Stripping out buyer-agent commission from list price and focusing on **net to seller**.- **[0:52:05] – Exact Public Remarks Template** Jonathan shares wording for MLS remarks that spell out process, deadlines, and starting price.- **[0:55:16] – AgentMaker & The Marketplace Method Training** Jonathan introduces **AgentMaker.com** and his **12‑hour, 300+ slide** training on the Marketplace Method.---We Educate and Motivate All Things Real Estate!Monte Mohr owns Realty One Group Music City and has sold over $1 Billion dollar's worth of real estate and over 3000 homes sold over his 30+ year career!Interested in joining Monte as an agent?www.topagentsuccess.comCarey Ann Cyr manages and operates one of the Top Branches for CMG Financial in Franklin, TN. ⏳✨ Feeling like God is late? Christmas reminds us that He's never early, never late — always perfect in timing! In today's episode, we explore Galatians 4:4–5 and the wonder of divine timing.
ICYMI: Mobile City Councilman Beau Fleming joined Midday Mobile and the conversation covered everything from why he ran to what's next for McGregor. Councilman Fleming, brand new to the District 5 seat, walked through the winding road that led him to public office. After volunteering on Mayor Stimpson's first campaign years ago, he knew he wanted to serve one day. That “one day” arrived the moment he heard longtime Councilman Joel Daves wouldn't seek re-election — a moment confirmed by rapid-fire phone calls from his wife and friends who knew he was built for the job. Once elected, Fleming said stepping into City Hall felt less like being tossed into the deep end and more like joining a team that knows how to guide newcomers. The council's staff, he said, has been phenomenal in helping him get his footing fast. On McGregor Avenue Yes, it's finally open — after two years of digging, rebuilding, replacing decades-old utilities, and keeping the neighborhood running above ground while crews worked below it. Fleming called the patience of McGregor residents “remarkable” and said the finished product was worth every slow detour. He also confirmed what many suspected: another McGregor project is coming. In 2026, work begins from Museum Drive to Spring Hill Avenue. This one won't be a multi-year slog, but it will bring better sidewalks, refreshed lighting, cleaner crosswalks, and improved traffic flow into the Spring Hill corridor. Sidewalks, trees, and the eternal tug-of-war Fleming acknowledged Mobile's longstanding battle between beloved old trees and the sidewalks they tend to buckle. The city's urban forestry team is actively identifying dangerous or diseased trees, and he encouraged residents to report concerns through 311. On that surprise “unpaid rent” moment The newly discovered issue of the city not paying rent for office space in a county-owned building did not show up on Fleming's radar beforehand. He emphasized two priorities: • respecting taxpayer dollars • maintaining a productive city–county partnership He expressed confidence that Mayor Chérrygodus will negotiate a fair solution without locking the city into a bad long-term deal. More resurfacing, more neighborhood improvements, and more updates from District 5 are on the way — and Councilman Fleming says he's just getting started.

When a people face "fightings without" and "fears within", what keeps them standing? Is it possible to serve God without constantly worrying about your property, or even your family? D&C 115–120 answers these questions, providing counsel for a Church struggling to survive. Summary: In this episode, we explore revelations given as the Saints faced intense persecution in Missouri and internal apostasy in Kirtland. D&C 115 renames the Church, emphasizing that "thus shall my church be called in the last days, even The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints". The Lord calls Far West to be a "holy and consecrated land" , providing a "refuge from the storm". D&C 116 identifies "Spring Hill" as the sacred place of Adam-ondi-Ahman , where Adam shall come to visit his people. D&C 117 focuses on material priorities. The Lord asks, "what is property unto me?" , commanding the Saints to "let them go" and focus on the "more weighty matters". We highlight the incredible faith of Oliver Granger, whose sacrifice was deemed "more sacred...than his increase". The Lord also warns against a "littleness of soul" and the deeds of the Nicolaitane band. D&C 118 issues a stunning challenge to the Twelve Apostles: to depart for their mission on April 26th from the cornerstone of the Far West temple, a site surrounded by enemies. The Lord promises to "provide for their families" as they go forth. D&C 119-120 reveals the Law of Tithing: first, all "surplus property" , and subsequently, "one-tenth of all their interest annually".
