Text: Mt 13:44
Takmer všetky znamenia ohľadne 2. príchodu Krista sa už naplnili. Zvykli sme si… A možno aj o nás platí:… a nič nespozorovali. Text: Mt 24:37–39
Text: Mt 2:1–12

Každý kresťan by mal dôjsť do bodu, keď slobodne, jasne a vedome odovzdá svoj život Kristovi.
In the Sermon on the Mount, Jesus describes two things: what life in the Kingdom of God is like, and what should characterize those who live in it. Specifically, He says that Kingdom people will be characterized as peacemakers. Those who are committed to becoming agents of peace will be called children of God. The Kingdom of God is all about reconciliation – bringing that which was broken back into wholeness. Reconciliation is defined as the re-establishment of a friendship; the resolving of a dispute. We certainly need peace and reconciliation in our world! However… We will never see societal peace until there's individual peace. It's always bottom up, and inside out. Of all the ways you could be described, would observers of your life say, “In this world where conflict is the norm, she/he is a peacemaker?” The reality is that relationships naturally tend toward disconnectedness. Even the most spiritually mature have enough residue of our sinful flesh that we struggle to live in peace with others at times. So, we would do well to see what the Bible has to say about handling the breakdowns that will inevitably occur. In this series, we're going to be talking about the different aspects of peacemaking. We're going to grapple with the importance of personal confession, with issues of forgiveness and the “how to's” of reconciliation. We'll even get to how to handle those occasions when all of our peace-making efforts are to no avail. But we have to begin by recognizing that… Our capacity to reconcile with others is rooted in our reconciliation with God. We all know that Christians are supposed to forgive. Jesus said as much when He taught His disciples to pray, “Forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors.” (Mt. 6:12) What's intriguing and, in no little way, disturbing, is how out of this entire prayer, Jesus only adds a commentary on the issue of forgiveness. He makes the point that to bask in your own forgiveness while withholding forgiveness from another is at the least inconsistent and at worst it's very costly. In the parlance of this series, to not forgive someone who has sinned against you is to be a Christian Atheist. Now, it's one thing to forgive the low-level “dings” that come our way, but what do you do with the major hurts and offenses? It's here that Christian Atheism is often seen. Sure, we should forgive most of the time, maybe even almost all of the time. But forgive that?!?!? I can't…and I won't. This morning, we have a special guest who came face to face with this challenge. Cyprien Nkiriyumwami was the Africa Director for Integral Mission and Peacebuilding at World Relief. In 1994 he and his wife, along with their 2 children were living in Rwanda when over a period of 100 days, nearly 1 million men, women, and children were slaughtered in the attempted genocide of the Tutsis by the Hutus. In this interview, Cyprien, a Hutu himself, tells the story of how he and his wife hid their Tutsi neighbors from the death squads that were going house to house, risking their own lives in the process. Eventually, they fled for their lives and lived as refugees in neighboring Congo for 2 years. He also tells of the challenges they faced when they returned to their home in Rwanda, and how he confronted the reality that to be a follower of Jesus would require him to confess his anger and bitterness and forgive those that had sought to kill him and his family. No doubt, forgiveness is hard! In many ways, it is an unnatural act. Everything within us demands justice if not vengeance when we get hurt. But while forgiveness may not be the natural response, it's the healthiest one – spiritually, mentally, and physically. You don't forgive because the person deserves it. Ultimately you forgive because it's the smartest thing to do. Mark it well: Forgiveness is a gift you give yourself. Text: Mt. 6:9-15; Eph. 4:31-32; Col. 3:12-13; Heb. 12:15Originally recorded on March 10, 2013, at Fellowship Missionary Church, Fort Wayne, IN.
Every one of us knows what it's like to carry around a “sack of shame” – guilt over what we've done in the past. What do you do with the contents of that sack? Our “can-do” culture has some suggestions: Man's Solution1. Talk it out. But while it can help to talk to someone about your struggle, that counselor cannot offer absolution. 2. Brush it off. But being reminded that others have their own bags of regret doesn't help you carry yours. 3. Explain it away.Passing the blame in a kind of reverse relay race won't get rid of the weight of guilt for the foolish choices we made. 4. Work it off. This is the religious solution. Burn a candle. Say a prayer. Do 2 good deeds for every bad one. Sounds logical, but who sets the quota? And why doesn't peace come after all the effort? God's Solution begins with Jesus' words: “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” (Mt. 11:28) God's Solution:1. Admit the sinfulness of your actions. (Psalm 32:5) 2. Ask for the forgiveness that is freely offered. (1 John 1:9) 3. Accept the offer of total cleansing. (Psalm 103:12) 4. Affirm the truth of God's promises when feelings of guilt and shame return. (Romans 8:1) Text: Mt. 11:38; Psalm 32Originally recorded on January 20, 2013, at Fellowship Missionary Church, Fort Wayne, IN.

No nešli by ste? Text: Mt 28:16–20
Text: Mt 12:14–21
Čo by povedal Boh to, ako Ho uctievam? Mal by v tom zaľúbenie? Jemu nič neunikne, pozná každý môj motív… Text: Mt 15:7–9
Text: Mt 8:5-13Title: Simple FaithTheme: As Jesus begins to act on the authority that he spoke about in the Sermon on the Mount, he does so among both Jews and Gentiles - and here, Matthew highlights the faith of an outsider as even greater than that of the insiders. As Jesus unpacks what the Kingdom of God is all about, Matthew is helping the readers see that's not just about the Jewish nation, but it includes the Gentiles too - and might even be better received and understood by the outsider!

Doch was dann Jesus alles aufzählt, kann uns schockieren. Auch die drei Wirkungen des Salzes. Auch die zwei Weiten des Lichtes (Stadt und Familie). Es ist so viel. So umfangreich. Betrifft jeden Bereich unseres Leben. Wie sollen wir das schaffen? Diese Frage bringt uns wieder zum Anfang. Ihr seid das Salz! Deswegen gilt für jeden Christen: Yes, you can!
