Die Form erinnert an ein Kissen, deshalb hat das Gericht diesen Beinamen, der besonders gut zu Weihnachten passt. Genussforscher Prof. Thomas Vilgis hat zwei Varianten zur Auswahl: Die herzhafte kommt mit Käse, Lauch und Kartoffeln daher und wird mit einem schlichten Salat als Vorspeise auf den Tisch gebracht, die süße bietet weihnachtliche Gewürze. Ultimately, it encourages us to embrace our helplessness as a pathway to experiencing God's love and support in our lives.

Suffering always involves waiting, and waiting is a form of suffering in itself. This leads to a visceral "groaning" response, often expressed in desperate prayers. However, the christian view is that God is aware of our suffering and waiting, and that it occurs in the space between God's promises and their fulfillment. Just as God was faithful to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and sent a redeemer in Moses, He has also provided a greater Redeemer in Jesus Christ, who will ultimately open the door and lead us out of our waiting rooms. Our suffering and waiting are not permanent, and that nothing can separate us from God's love in Christ.
