In this enlightening episode, I had a conversation with the renowned spiritual leader and bestselling author, Marianne Williamson, to explore the deep themes of love, fear, and empowerment. Marianne shares insights from her decades of experience in spiritually progressive movements, her groundbreaking books, and her vision for a more compassionate and loving world. Highlights From This Episode: Redefining Salvation: The discussion contrasts the traditional Christian view of salvation (focused on inherent sinfulness and redemption through Jesus) with a more mystical interpretation that emphasizes inherent innocence and the need for a change in thought rather than punishment. Our Inherent Innocence: Marianne highlights the idea that humans are inherently innocent, created by God as extensions of love. This contrasts sharply with the traditional belief in original sin and the need for redemption. The Holy Spirit As Guidance from Within: The conversation emphasizes that God provides the Holy Spirit as a means to navigate life's challenges. The Holy Spirit helps individuals correct their thoughts and find love in their experiences. The Power of Forgiveness: Marianne discusses the significance of forgiveness and the power of prayer. They emphasize that being willing to see others differently can lead to personal transformation and healing. The Practical Application of Spiritual Teachings: Marianne explains that true spiritual growth comes from applying the principles learned in spiritual texts (like A Course in Miracles) in everyday life. This requires moving from intellectual understanding to heartfelt action. Community and Connection: The conversation touches on the importance of being surrounded by others who are also seeking spiritual growth. It stresses that connection with others can help individuals stay aligned with their purpose and values. Choosing Love Over Fear: The closing discussion encourages listeners to make conscious choices that align with love rather than fear, promoting the idea that individuals can create a "heaven on earth" through their thoughts and actions. Marianne Williamson's Latest Book: The Mystic Jesus: The Mind of Love – Available online and at bookstores everywhere. About Marianne Williamson For more than four decades, Marianne Williamson has been a leader of spiritually progressive circles. She is the author of 16 books, four of which have been #1 New York Times best sellers. A quote from the mega-bestseller A Return to Love, “Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure…” is considered an anthem for a contemporary generation of seekers. Her other bestsellers have included A Woman's Worth, The Law of Divine Compensation, Tears to Triumph and The Gift of Change. With her books and online classes she has taught millions of people the universal spiritual principles at the heart of miracle-minded thinking. Williamson founded Project Angel Food, a non-profit organization that has delivered more than 18 million meals to ill and dying homebound patients in the Los Angeles area since 1989. The group was created to help people suffering from the ravages of HIV/AIDS. She has also worked throughout her career on poverty, anti-hunger and racial reconciliation issues. In 2004, she co-founded The Peace Alliance and supported the creation of a U.S. Department of Peace. Williamson's latest book, titled THE MYSTIC JESUS: The Mind of Love, is available online and at bookstores everywhere. Stetson grew up in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (Mormonism) but left the church in teenage rebellion at the age of 16. He was an agnostic for many years enjoying sin. After marriage and the birth of his first son, Stetson began looking for something to ground his life in. At the request of his wife, Stetson and his wife began reading the Bible and was immediately convinced of it's truth. That began their journey in Christianity. We also talk about how Stetson has experienced the difference of Christianity. Stetson

In this episode, I assume the modern historical-critical perspective with pastor and 'This Little Corner of the Internet' thinker Paul VanderKlay to explore the tension points it has with the traditional-devotional lens--and to consider if and how these impasses might be transcended. Does history matter to faith and to the faithful? If so, how, when, and why? Can we avoid equivocating discussions around the "reality" of Christianity? How crucial is the nonrational? Overall, we rehearse what challenges the traditional approach to Christianity faces as it develops into modern expressions and interpretations on the way towards a metamodern instantiation. 0:00 Introduction 0:55 The "God Pivot" and Metamodernism: The Missing Modern 7:39 How Does Faith Relate to Modern & Postmodern Critical Approaches? 24:30 The Reality of Religion in Different Psycho-Social Contexts 36:18 Reality vs. History: Language as Metaphor or Fact 52:38 Worldview, Rationality, and Projection 1:04:28 "Spirit": False Substance Reification vs. Real Transjective Relationality 1:07:22 Avoiding Equivocation and Taking Modern Science Seriously 1:20:59 Pragmatic and Developmental Hermeneutics 1:44:16 Nonrationality and the Meaning Crisis 1:59:15 Different Metamodern Spiritual Arcs: The Theological is Personal 2:16:00 Conclusion

[00:30] Media: Pass the Border Insecurity Bill, or Else! (36 minutes) The southern border deal currently under discussion is so bad that even one of the bill's main creators, Oklahoma Senator James Lankford, may vote against it. Among other ridiculous provisions, the deal would require U.S. taxpayers to pay for the legal representation of illegal migrants and would not shut the border until daily illegal crossings reach 5,000. But Joe Scarborough and other media talking heads insist that the border security bill must be passed—even though it would actually make the border less secure. [36:30] God's Positive Law (19 minutes) Traditional Christianity views God's law as a harsh list of restrictions. In reality, God's law is full of positive commands that bring wonderful blessings into our lives when we obey them.

[00:30] Hunter Biden Plays the Victim Card (18 minutes) Hunter Biden said this morning that he is willing to publicly testify in the House of Representatives' impeachment inquiry into his father. However, Hunter insists that he is completely innocent and that his father was “not financially involved” in his business dealings. [18:00] One in Five Admit to Committing Voter Fraud in 2020 (24 minutes) About 20 percent of American voters who used mail-in ballots indicated in a recent poll that they committed election fraud during the 2020 presidential election. So much for “the most secure election in history.” [42:00] The Power of God (13 minutes) Traditional Christianity completely misunderstands what the Holy Spirit is.

SEX, GENDER & LIFESUNDAY, OCTOBER 15, 2023Goals for this Series:1. To clarify the scripture's position on same-sex relations through clear biblical expository2. To stir the church's heart to compassion for those struggling with SSA and desiring to follow the way of Christ.3. That through better understanding and more compassion we can become a church that is loving and compassionate and yet uncompromising when it comes to what we see to be the clear biblical ethic.4. Ultimately, to point people to Jesus above all else as the center of our hope.Progressive Christianity v Traditional Christianity comes to a different conclusion about biblical sexuality. The traditional interpretation and understanding of biblical sexuality is the correct conclusion.Genesis 2:18, 21-24Leviticus 18:221 Corinthians 6:9-11“The church needs a new apologetic, a way of thought and life that neither demonizes nor elevates the same sex desires facing many Christians... This new apologetic must further permit us to form a deeper response to homosexuality, one that honors both scripture, the wisdom of tradition, and peoples real experience.” - David BennettGod loves you and a relationship with him is the ultimate relationship.Resources:1. We kicked off the week helping you lengthen your prayer list with a focus on what God is doing around the world. This week on In The Market with Janet Parshall we told you about the implosion of Islam in the Middle East and what is drawing so many away from Allah to Christ. We also encourage you to pray for Christians in Malaysia who are facing extreme persecution for their faith. Traditional Christianity is being assaulted on all sides, especially through bent and misinterpreted versions of the faith. Our guest took us back to scripture to expose 7 lies that are being use today to distort the Gospel message and how to recognize these wolves wearing sheep’s wool. The end of high school and the end of college are two crucial times where young Christians are challenged on their faith by the waiting world. We helped parents, students and others understand those challenges and gave practical, biblical guidance for answering them. Spiritual warfare goes on around us every day, but are we ready? Our guest, a respected bible teacher, once again addressed your questions and concerns on this very important topic that often goes ignored or misunderstood in the lives of many believers. Get ready as Janet and Craig expose the confusion, mistruths and deceptions behind some of the big headlines of the week.
