On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we honored the men and women who serve in the armed forces by hearing from a husband and wife who endured the challenges of a soldier coming home from battle with the scars of war and how faith and love brought healing and restoration to their lives and marriage. Their story reminded us that even with the deepest wounds there is healing when we entrust our lives to the loving hands of God. Although there is a historical separation in time between the events of the Old and New Testaments our guest explained how explained the links between both part of the book as God’s whole revelation of Himself to the world. He explained how as far back as Genesis God has revealed His plan of salvation through His promised Son coming and becoming the sacrifice that provided salvation to mankind. Since Covid 19 how we work in the modern world has definitely changed, but our need to work and be successful not only in the doing but in honoring God and using the talents and skills He has given us, has not changed. Our guest laid out some strategies to help us discover what our spiritual gifts are and how to implement them as part of our work to create purpose and success in our professional lives. Why do believers have a fear of sharing the gospel message with those who need to hear it most? Our guest helped us better understand those fears and why this message of hope is so often rejected by non-believers and how to live our lives as living examples of His message of hope. It is time to dig deep into the headlines of the week as we hold to account more of the messages being bought and sold in the marketplace of ideas.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

John 15:13 says that there is no greater love than to lay down your own life for the life of a friend. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we gave you an opportunity to hear a powerful story of one man who lived this very verse when he rescued a friend and interpreter from the coming of the Taliban in Afghanistan when the U.S. pulled its forces out in 2021. He explained how that singular act turned into mission to rescue hundreds of others from the terrorists. We shared with you the firsthand account of man who found himself in the national spotlight and the subject of much ridicule because he refused to bake a cake for a same sex couple. His account of the ups and downs of this journey leading all the way to the highest court in the land is an example to us all of what it means to live out your faith boldly despite criticism and mockery in the marketplace of ideas. Unexpectedly in the last few years we have seen a greater acceptance of Socialism and its ideas across our nation and along with that acceptance has come a rewriting of history that says that Jesus was in favor of socialist ideas such as redistribution of wealth and welfare states. Our guest addressed this fallacy and how it is being used to lure young people into rejection of our capitalist society in favor of one that adheres to socialist ideas without exposing them to the dangerous negatives inherent in this philosophy. No marriage is without challenges, including Christian ones. But how those challenges are handled can be drastically different for believing couples. Our guest used her marriage to teach us 7 essential beliefs that can help a marriage thrive and survive while building a stronger love with its foundation buried deep in willingness to let God heal the marriage. Once again, our favorite husband and wife team invite you for another exploration of the news of the week through the lens of scripture.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

How did the New Testament come to be? The ancient writings that comprise the New Testament are critical for understanding the life, teachings, and impact of Jesus of Nazareth, all of which are central to Christianity. But how were these texts circulated, collected, and given their canonical status? Is the New Testament a trustworthy source for learning about Jesus and the early church? New Testament scholar Charles L. Quarles will join us to address the most pressing questions regarding the study of New Testament texts, their transmission, and their collection into the canon.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Don’t be fooled, the fight for the lives of the pre-born doesn’t stop just because the political climate in Washington D.C. changes. On In The Market with Janet Parshall, a regular guest on the program addressed the ongoing battle against the abortion pill that has gone from being an outlier to one of the most widely used means of taking the life of the unborn. He warned us of the inherent danger of this option and why it may be time for this drug to have more government regulation over its distribution and use. Then we took a hard look at the recent massive power outages in Spain and Portugal where millions were without power after a celebration just weeks before in Spain where they touted 100 percent energy from renewable sources. Our climate expert addressed whether this is a neon warning sign to the United States about our own futures if we turn to complete dependance on alternative energy sources and whether or not this is the first major sign of what he calls “the green breakdown”. Is it possible that the anxiety and depression that many believers struggle with is less physical and more spiritually rooted in how our personal relationship with God operates? Our guest explained what an “insecure attachment to God” looks like and how it can have a dramatic impact on our mental wellbeing. She also explained how repairing that connection opens the door for God to share His healing story through our lives as a platform to lift up and encourage others who struggle with their own attachment relationship with Him. We boarded another radio flight to the land down under for more enlightening conversations with our favorite Scottish apologist. He addressed the effort to redefine womanhood in Scotland and whether or not believers should support corporations that support abortion among other thought-provoking topics. We gave you the opportunity to hear from a respected attorney who detailed a recent religious liberty victory out the Chicago Public School system and what the larger scale ramifications of this win means for religious liberty across the country going forward. We also spoke to that man who has turned statistics into powerful tools for ministry as he laid out the findings of this year’s American Worldview Inventory and explained why we are seeing significant faith shifts across the nation. Once again, we invite you to join us for another important discussion of the news of the week through the lens of God’s unchanging truth.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

God’s prophetic clock continues to tick, but on this side of eternity there are so many questions about end times events that it is important to have clear, biblical facts to ground our understanding of what is to come. On In The Market with Janet Parshall we sort fact from supposition as our guest tackled some of the most challenging questions related to what is yet to come. How do we add spiritual heft to our walk with the Lord and so that we can stand firm against the attacks of the enemy? We turned to our beloved friend who normally joins us to answer your spiritual warfare questions, to learn more about why it is important be doctrinally sound in our faith. He addressed the confusion that often shipwrecks believers and took us once again to God’s word to ground us firmly in His truth. The ideology of transgenderism has grown in acceptance at a rapid rate across the country. But our guests explained that what is being touted as evidence-based truth is in fact an ideology with psychological underpinnings that give it an air of credibility. That in turn is leading to struggles for individuals and families by creating gender confusion and in many cases severing family bonds. One of our guests, who himself lived for a time as a woman, used his story to explain how there is a way back from this confusion and how it is found in understanding God’s design for all of us. It is impossible to escape the reach of artificial intelligence or, as it is more commonly known, AI. But as believers we are challenged with bigger questions than the average person. Is this something that should be included in our ministry efforts and if so, how? Our guest who has served the Lord for decades as a software engineer, joined us to put AI into perspective helping us to understand its impact for good and bad to the Church as we move forward with this new technology. Class is back in session as our favorite husband and wife team invite you to join them as they continue to teach us how to fight for our families by using the sword of God’s word to cut through the rhetoric and confusion in some of the biggest headlines of the week.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we had a visit with one of our favorite apologists who shared the transformative story of a woman who went from devoted , then disillusioned follower of Islam to an atheist before she found the source of real life in Jesus. A Christian marriage is still a marriage. It comes with the same challenges any other union of two unique personality types comes with. The difference is how we address those challenges and who we go to for guidance. Our guests, a respected husband and wife radio & podcast team, pulled back the curtain on their marriage story to teach us to how God can bring transformation and healing through a wife’s words to her husband and how her words can inspire him to lift her and the marriage up even higher as a priority in his life. They also took us back to the scripture to clear up the misunderstanding of what it means for a wife to be a “helper” to her husband by showing that it is a more powerful, influential and essential role than any of us have ever considered before. Can a woman be a narcissist? That’s just one of many intriguing questions we tackled as our expert on this dangerous and debilitating personality type joined us once again to share her insights and answer your questions on narcissism and the long-term damage it can do to our most intimate relationships. As long as humans are involved, government will never be able to once and for all bring an end to the common ills of mankind such as poverty, hunger, war, disease, etc. But God promises that one day the living embodiment of righteousness will sit on the throne of David and rule over mankind with love and justice for 1000 years. What will it really be like to live during the millennial reign of Christ upon the earth? Our guest opened God’s word to give a glimpse of the glory that is to come. The tensions between the United States and Iran continue to grow. But in the midst of those tensions God is still at work. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we heard from one of His faithful servants to the Iranian people to better understand the impact of these international tensions on the every day people in the street and share more amazing stories of His transforming power to save souls and change lives. If you want to understand why God hates lies, just take a look at the father of lies, Satan. His deceptions have been the downfall of mankind since human history began. Our guest, a respected pastor and teacher, took us back before time began to explain exactly who Satan is and why deceiving ways so easily trip us up time and time again. He explained how Satan twists the circumstances of our daily lives to deceive us and five unshakable truths about God’s love that we can stand on to see through Satan’s tricks and schemes. When a storm hits our lives, do we just let the crashing waves sink us to the bottom or is there a way to make it safely through to the other side? Using an actual event from the life of Paul, our guest a beloved bible teacher and author, showed us what depending on God during those stormy times really looks like and that the Jesus who spoke peace to the storm is the same Jesus who can guide us safely through the choppy waters of our lives, if we let Him. This nation may not be in the news every single day but make no mistake about it, its leader remains unrelenting in his drive to bring the whole word under his communist rule. We turned once again to a highly respected security expert to get an update on China including what is going on with its plans to control Taiwan. Then we turned our focus to another international threat, Iran and whether or not that nation is willing to relent on its plans to develop nuclear weapons and if not, what does that mean for the United States going forward? Once again, our favorite husband and wife team are using God’s word to dissect the news of the week and they invite you to sharpen your skills to be able to do the same for the protection and welfare of your family.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we shared the story of a man who since the day of his salvation has been passionate about sharing the hope of the Gospel with any and everyone he can. He explained his passion for evangelism, developing a heart for the lost and why prayer and dependance upon the guidance of the Holy Spirit is crucial to opening the door to share God’s message of eternal hope. Over the last few years traditional family values and the quality of our military have been sorely under attack. And even though we are beginning to see some significant changes they are not coming without challenge. Janet’s daughter who is on the front lines of these important issues explained what the Supreme Court’s recent ruling on transgenders in the military will be for our forces going forward and whether or not the U.S. Department of Education will really close as the President has promised. Our guest turned the lives of 5 ordinary people who walked faithfully with God throughout the ups and downs of their lives, as a teaching template to help us understand what it means live out the Christian faith even when the road before you is uncertain, the journey seems too hard or God’s hand is not immediately evident. Using stories from the lives of these five people, including a civil rights pioneer, a respected theologian and a beloved children’s television personality, our guest teaches us what daily dependance and obedience really look like in the life of the believer. Despite all the negative press, attacks from inside and outside its borders and vitriolic rhetoric and hate around the world, the nation of Israel and its people have an eternal destiny determined by God that nothing and no one can change. We turned to a respected teacher of Jewish history for a better understanding of why this land and her people are so important to God’s prophetic design and why the Church must continue to stand against the ongoing hatred of His chosen people. It’s time once again to put the news of the week on trial and measure it against the unvarnished truth of God’s word.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Chinese oppression of believers is well documented but in the midst of these very difficult times, believers are still standing firm for their faith. Artificial Intelligence, more commonly known as AI, is here to stay. But how we allow it to impact our lives, especially our spiritual lives, is an important conversation that needs to be had. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we spoke with a broadcaster who asked some tough questions to an AI program related to these matters and you had the opportunity to hear it speak for itself. Then our guest drew us back to God’s truth so that we could examine and make clear, bible-based judgements on what it said and how its assertions stand up to biblical truth. We are not the first to say it but it bears repeating, teaching is one of the hardest, most important jobs there is today. But with so many controversial ideas infiltrating the classroom today, what recourse is available for parents who are looking for solid, reliable, old-fashioned quality school and education for their kids? We spoke to a father daughter team who told us about the one option that parents in several states are taking advantage of and how it is instilling quality values and educational excellence in the children who attend. They also addressed how best to build a solid educational foundation for children, how to get educational and life truths to go deeper into their hearts and minds and why it is necessary to continually encourage our teachers who are on the front lines preparing the kids who will run our future. Ask any couple in their golden years and they will tell you that marriage is a fluid experience. Who we were at the alter by the very nature of combining two lives together over a period of time, will change. Counterfeit goods are always on sale in the marketplace of ideas including “fake Christianity”. On In The Market with Janet Parshall our guest shared his pastors’ heart as he gave us a clear biblical understanding of how a lax faith that includes neglect of Bible reading and application, failing to practice what we preach, focus on the wrong things and prayerlessness can lead us to the trap of an inauthentic faith. He showed the how to avoid these traps and to build and maintain a robust and faithful walk with the Lord. If you or someone you know has endured the pain of sexual abuse, no matter at what age it occurred, there is a long hard road of recovery and healing ahead. Our guest also experienced that trauma in her own life and she reminded us that the source of true healing comes only from the nail scarred hands of our Savior. Like a poisonous weed narcissism can invade families, work relationships and friends and choke out their life and joy. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week one of our favorite guests used her biblical knowledge, training and personal experience with this dangerous personality type to answer your questions on how to see, understand and navigate the challenges of having a narcissist in your life. Go into any Christian bookstore or bible college library and you will find thousands of books about the different aspects of a life of faith and it can easily become like information overload to distill that information down to simple, clear, truths that sustain us during our journey. But our guest used his own faith journey to draw us back to the simple, faith-defining truths that help ground us and enable us to walk simply, honestly and faithfully before the Lord daily. It is no exaggeration to say that Jesus is all over the bible. From Genesis to Revelation, His roles as Creator, Savior and Redeemer fragrance of the pages of God’s holy word. Our guest, a highly respected pastor and teacher drew us back to the scriptures and shared how understanding this simple truth can deepen our devotion and strengthen our connection and devotion to the Lord. We punched your radio airline ticket for another informative trip to visit our favorite Scottish apologist in the land down under. He shared his thoughts on a number of issues impacting the church today including the impact of woke ideology and the surprising increase of bible sales in the United Kingdom. How do we navigate the tumultuous world we live in when we are bombarded with lies, half-truths and deceptions daily? We do it by using the unbiased scales of God’s word to weigh what we see and hear against what He has said is and is not truth. The lives of the preborn took center stage as we kicked off a new week of conversations on In The Market with Janet Parshall. We looked at why Colorado is pushing for more abortions through Medicaid, why one of the best known and respected research and policy organizations says it does not want to keep records of abortions and the impact of easy access to the abortion pill is having on the fight to save the preborn. One of our favorite apologists joined us for a wide-ranging conversation on secular humanism. Our guest took us behind the curtain of this impactful belief system to explain what it is and is not, where it came from and how it has and continues to radically alter the thinking of people regarding life’s most important relationship, the one between us and the God who created us. What is the key to true happiness? We spoke to a world renowned and highly respected expert on the human brain who explained the 5 brain types and 7 secrets of neuroscience that can impact and influence our happiness day in and day out. For some philosophy may have been that “boring” class they had to take in college, but those ideas have become the poisonous weeds that are choking the life out of traditional American ideas of how our society and its people should live their lives and the freedoms they should enjoy. Our guest blew the dust off of many of those philosophical teachings to expose their current impact in all of our lives and how some are using them to not only influence people today but plant the seeds of destruction for generations yet to come. Tensions in the Middle East and around the world continue to grow and now more than ever we need to look at the news with a clear biblical and critical eye. Stress. We all experience it in our lives and for some the struggle to overcome it can be very difficult, impacting both their physical and mental health. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week our guest shared 9 important habits grounded in cutting edge brain science and God’s word to teach us how to deal with the stress in our lives, the importance of gratitude, the impact of breathing on stress relief and the difference between stress and resilience. Sexual identity is a fundamental gift given to us by our creator but all around us this basic part of our individual humanity is being undermined, questioned and attacked. We spoke to a friend of the program who has been on the front lines of this fight for many years as he explained why the impact of the Supreme Court’s ruling on a Colorado case on so called “conversion therapy” is so important, why “conversion therapy is and is not and why a bill in that same state wants to make it illegal to identify people by their birth names and according to their birth sex. What does practical, day in and day out faith look like? Our guest used the lives of women in the bible to examine what it really means to live by faith through the imperfect often messy lives of those who chose to follow God’s direction, when it didn’t make sense to them and when they knew it would cost them a great deal. Our guest explored the roots of that faith and how we can learn and follow their examples in our own lives to follow God’s divinely ordained plans for our lives and our families. It has always been a challenge to be a living witness to others but in our day and age it has become much harder because the antagonism and resistance to biblical Christianity is at an all-time high. Despite this our guest, a pastor and teacher who is respected around the world, encouraged us to not give up the fight. He used God’s word to show us what it means to live out our lives daily with conviction, resilience and trust in God and His word to guide us through the slings and arrows of a society that turned its back on His message of eternal hope and forgiveness. From China’s aggressive actions to the push for more AI in our lives, the need for believers to understand the story behind the story of the headlines is greater than ever. Every Christian has experienced days or even seasons of feeling extreme guilt over past or present sins, thinking that God is angry or disgusted with them―sometimes even wondering if they’re truly saved. This often happens when believers fixate on their sins while forgetting what Christ has already done on their behalf at the cross. Sam Storms explains it this way: “What consumes us is what we have done by sinning. What ought to consume us is grateful meditation on what God has done with our sinning.” Dr Storms will walk us through 12 things God did with our sin, including forgiving it, passing over it, and casting it into the depths of the sea.Become a Parshall Partner: http://moodyradio.org/donateto/inthemarket/partnersSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
