It's hard enough as a solo show to keep a schedule, imagine getting four podcasters together for a evening. A show almost five months in the making, I convinced Jason Meadows from Ag State of Mind, Jared Luhman from Herd Quitter and the Podfather himself, Clay Conry from Working Cows to join me on zoom without much of an agenda to just chat for awhile. I mashed record and this is what happened. You might have heard the same content on one of their shows, we planned for a mass release, if you're really bored, maybe you can spot the differences between this version and the other three besides the intros. What does it take to get 4 ag podcasters together to record a podcast together? A lot of prep and planning and months of advance notice apparently. Jared Luhman, Bryan Alexander, and Clay Conry are hosts of the Herd Quitter, Ranching Reboot, and Working Cows podcasts, respectively. We had the idea of the 4 of us getting together and recording a podcast. It took several months for us to make it work but man am I glad we did. We started off chatting about our regenerative ag journeys. About how context matters so much in any operation. We then chat a bit about what podcasting looks like for us and the benefits and enjoyment and education we have obtained from podcasting. We also chat a bit about the state of the American food system and where we see it going. What a great episode. I hope you enjoy listening as much as we enjoyed recording. We hope to have another episode together, this time all of us being in the same location, sometime soon.

Hey, I'm Ashley. I used to be a vegetarian. Then I moved rural, started meeting ranchers and herding cows on horseback - and wondering: could we raise beef better? That question launched me on a journey, across the west. Turns out, women are leading the charge in the regenerative ranching movement. Come meet them.Projects like these are made possible by Boise State Public Radio members. Give now to support future podcasts.
Sober October continues on the Ag State of Mind Podcast. Today, we go to South Carolina to speak with my friend Daniel Hayes. Daniel and I first connected over our mutual friend Clay Conry's podcast "Working Cows." We speak to Daniel about his incredible journey through sobriety after a quite tumultuous past. We talk about how both his faith in God and his relationship with his wife helped him become the man who he is today. We then shift the conversation to him transitioning over from cattle to hair sheep on his operation and how that is benefiting his land and his way of life. If you want to reach out to Daniel his email is bootstrapfarmsc@gmail.com
Clay Conry, a fellow podcaster on the Working Cows podcast, joins us to talk about his family's operation, his role as a rural pastor and what the Working Cows podcast is all about. Join this fun conversation where we dived into Mission and Visions and how balancing life's many tasks is like a wagon wheel! Don't miss this episode and make sure to check out the Working Cows Podcast as well!
Over the past couple of years, lots of things have changed around our home operation. One of the biggest things to change is how we handle our cattle when it comes time to work them. By instilling a few different tactics and attitudes, we have made working cattle a more positive, less stressful event at our place.

Some people are called to work at the intersection of theory and practice and to challenge unchallenged ideas about what we do and why we do what we do. Clay Conry is one of those people. His Working Cows podcast is occupying a niche in livestock agriculture. As both a practicing rancher and a thinker, Clay is influencing sustainable agriculture for the good, for healthy land and animals as well as human flourishing. Comments on Working Cows? 888-563-3228 Description The Working Cows podcast exists to give you something to think about as you seek to increase your ability as a ranch manager, stockman, financial manager, land steward, or our most important resource, the people who are on the journey with us toward ranch business success. We focus on the four pillars of a ranching operation featuring people who are actually making the daily decisions that change the course of their ranch business Website http://workingcows.net Opinion I liked the intro and description. The music was a bit long, but I liked when you came on and jumped right in. You are talking to me, and not reading to me, and it seems very conversational. You did almost lose me as you kept talking about what you would be talking about. At some point, you need to get to the details. I did have a bit of issue hearing you when you first started (music was a little low). I did like the stats you started with. It really caught my attention. There was a bit retrospective so I understand why you were taking a bit to get to the details and that's fine. You do like the phrase paradigm shifting as you used it alot. I do like that when you got to increasing profitability, then you got to the steps by step on how to do that. All in all a decent show, and I congratulate you on one year in podcasting.
