I appreciated the heads-up on AI-generated voices. I knew exactly where I was going as the episode progressed. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingI'm undecided about the AI reading the scripture. It reminded me of Yul Brenner. These weren't horrible robotic voices (but reading the King James Version doesn't help—even when a human reads that version, you really have to pay attention). This is going to be one of those things that you either like, or you don't. You might be like me, and be on the fence. I think over time, you get used to the AI accent. So listen, learn, and repeat!Website: https://dailysportshistory.comWhat I Liked About This EpisodeI liked the description. I loved the topic (Terry Fox)What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingYour audio quality sounds like you used a noise reduction and went too far. I even took off my headphones and listened through computer speakers. When your audio quality distracts the listener from what you are saying to how it sounds, that's a problem. This is an easy fix. If you are using a built into the laptop computer check out the Samson Q2u https://supportthisshow.com/q2u and find a quiet roomThe music at the beginning either needs to fade is as you are wrapping up (and then fade out as the story starts, or just lose it and use the WHOOSH which was quite louder than the rest of the show. DescriptionTimothy Kimo Brien brings his experience with podcasting since 2006 as a listener and a podcaster. He is here to help you outsmart the algorithm and find your next binge worthy podcast. Here is how the show works, Tim combs the millions of podcasts currently available for free on various platforms and then he comes back to you with what he has found. Sure you can use the search engines for recommendations from many podcast apps, but Tim feels that getting a personal recommendation from a real live breathing person is still the best way to find the gems that are out thereWebsite: https://www.findapodcastabout.xyz/What I Liked About This EpisodeI love the concept. The music reminded me of early Joe Jackson (Mad at You)What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingI don't think I needed the play-by-play of where we are going. Can you just roll in sound quality, etc into the story of what you think? I've never seen car talk, so maybe this just isn't for me.For me, I don't need or trust stats (i.e. Listen notes). Even without Listen notes, I want to know what YOU think about the shy and why YOU think it's good. I don't think I'm the target audience for this show.P.S. Your show is not appearing in Apple. There was also a breath issue that once I noticed, I couldn't unhear it. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingThe music is a bit too loud on the intro and your microphone is a bit muffled compared to the rest of the audio. Also, it seems like you used some sort of noise reduction tool and went one notch too many so you slightly sound like you're underwater.BONUS: You should treat every episode like a blog post. The "all in one" podcast players have no SEO value, make it hard to share a single episode and reduce the ability to add keywords to your website. These are all easy to fix. DescriptionIn life, sometimes we have a unique experience that leaves us with big emotional questions. And sometimes, there's no one around us who can answer our questions. Each episode, host Yowei Shaw connects a guest with the “proxies” they need - experts and individuals with shared experience. Not an advice show and definitely not therapy, Proxy offers something different: a space for people to confront, commiserate and even find the comedy (or cringe) through frank conversation.Website: https://www.patreon.com/ProxyPodcastWhat I Liked About This EpisodeIt's from a former NPR employee so lots of cool mood music and great recording. It's warmWhat I Thought Could Use Some PolishingFor me NPR always takes forever to get to the good point, and they fall in love with production and irrelevant details. In this episode, I'm sorry to hear you lost your job (I've been there), but you didn't give me a reason to care. I loved "banish distraction" and later "start loving Monday."I thought they did a good job of letting me know what was coming in bite-size chunks so I could consume it and think, "OK, but what about???" Then they would give me a little nugget. Their is a hint of selling going on (Life changing is not something I say often in normal life) but I know the goal is to help sell their Life Focus Planning System, but it wasn't too "Salesy."What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingCourtney's microphone is just a bit too brite. Applying a small amount of De-esser will help that. Also you have Stitcher and Google buttons on your site and both of those are gone. Description:Every ThursdAI, Alex Volkov hosts a panel of experts, ai engineers, data scientists and prompt spellcasters on twitter spaces, as we discuss everything major and important that happened in the world of AI for the past week.Topics include LLMs, Open source, New capabilities, OpenAI, competitors in AI space, new LLM models, AI art and diffusion aspects and much more.Website: sub.thursdai.newsWhat I Liked About This EpisodeYou are going DEEP into AI, so you have found your niche, and those who want a deep dive have found a home. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingThe housekeeping didn't seem necessary (or could've been shortened) as you just introduced the guests, which you then did again. The music at the beginning of the show is too long. Have someone explain what the show is about and the topics for the episode. Your domain needs explaining which will drive you nuts years from now, "No it's thursdai not thursday" so buy both domains and point them at your website.I found it odd that you would make a guest wait an hour to be interviewed. The Goal Of This ShowThis show aims to help you make the best episodes and grow your downloads. DescriptionWhere publishing, ecommerce, and marketing collide. Brought to you by Lulu.com.Website: https://www.publishprosperpodcast.com/What I Liked About This EpisodeGood chemistry, and you used a domain to point at your "better than nothing" website. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingYou've got a plosive issue, and when your show name has two P's you need to fix that. The witty banter went on too long, and you have a ton of "music for the sake of nothing." The biggest thing I would say is get to the topic, then throw in stories as you talk about editing. I wanted to hear this but you seemed a bit focused on being entertaining in a "Local programming television morning show" way. Oh Trevor you rascal! Description3 friends who get together to talk about life it's absurdities and all the b******t that goes along with it. If you don't care about it, why should I. You need to go back to the drawing board and do the following:1. Identify your WHY. If you don't get your why, you burn out.2. Identify your WHO. If you don't give them value, you'll never grow an audience.3. Identify the WHAT. This is content that both entertains the WHO while moving them toward your WHAT. 4. Identify how you will measure success. There are more than downloads (sales, reach, influence, fun, and more). If you use the wrong metric, you might get discouraged.5. if the goal is to make money QUICKLY and you have started with zero audience, know that it can take YEARS to build an audience big enough to make countable income. It all starts with identifying your WHO and your WHY. DescriptionPresented by Uninterrupted and ThreeFourTwo Productions, Mind The Game is an entry into the heralded basketball minds of LeBron James and JJ Redick. The two sit down weekly to discuss the state of the game, dissect X's and O's, and wax poetic about the game they love.Website: https://www.youtube.com/@MindTheGamePodcastWhat I Liked About This EpisodeI loved that they started using DEEP Jargon right out of the gate. This lets me know who this is for. I liked that they took time to explain some of the deep jargon for those who are new to it. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingThe intro did not grab me. I'm sitting in my room alone. I'm the only one here. Mentioned in This EpisodePodurama.comListener FeedbackWe got some feedback from Brad Shreve:I hope you've been well. I'm dropping you an email because I rarely disagree with you, but I think you missed the mark on Shadow Clock Reviewed on the 2/14 episode of The Podcast Rodeo Show. The kitchen garbage at the beginning floored me because I have no idea why anyone would leave that in, but once she got past that, she nailed it, IMO. She set it up well, teased me so I wanted to hear more, and his background was interesting to me because it all related to eventually becoming a bank robber. You were immediately frustrated when he was talking about fishing on the Mississippi whereas I knew right away it would lead to bootlegging. If I was wrong, it was short enough to give her the benefit of doubt (since it was my first time listening) that it would tie in somehow. From that point up until where you ended it, I think only a few words were wasted because while I would find a story about bank robbing interesting, I'm more fascinated by how he got there. At least as long as it ties in. If he talked about fishing and it was just a story about fishing, then that would have me scratching my head. Unnecessary was her imagery of pelicans at Alcatraz. It may have been interesting as part of her take at the end, but it seemed odd, boring, and out of place where she had it.There is one other thing where I think she failed - the title. I would never have...

You talked to one person. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingYou were reading (and it was obvious), your audio was somewhat boomy (A Blue Yeti?), and in general, it moved a bit too slow for me. I would add a "De-esser" as your audio might be a bit too clear. You need to put your podcast on your website. You did a great job of alerting the audience about adult content. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingThere was no show open. I had no idea what I was listening to as a first-time listener. I felt like I had walked into a movie. You somewhat buried the lead, and then when you let the cat out of the bag, I wanted to hear about bank robbing (and you went WAY into his story). I assume he wasn't raised by Nuns in a Manson so I was ready to hear about bank robbing. That tease does keep me listening (and got you the Whinny, not the buzzer) but had I not been doing a review show, I would've been pressing the fast-forward button.Mentioned In This ShowFat Fifty and FriskyThe Goal Of This ShowThis show aims to help you make the best episodes and grow your downloads. Your tone of voice is nice and friendly. The content was good for an absolute finance beginner. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingNobody in the right mind will ever read that Apple intro. Apple doesn't index the intro so no need to keyword stuff the description. It wreaks a bit of Chat GPT. You could quit with the first paragraph (who is this for, how will the benefit). In your friendly delivery (are there podcasts they deliver in an unfriendly delivery)? You are reading and it's obvious. For me, that's a no-go. You read better than most people read, but you're reading. There was no personalization. There were no personal stories. There was no RALPH in Ask Ralph. Here again, I sense some Chat GPT. Everything was very high level, "Works for everyone" kind of content. This creates vanilla content (hence the "Meh") rating. It wasn't horrible, but I wasn't running to tell a friend. I loved the natural banter between the two. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingThe intro where you sing the intro is somewhat "Wayne's World, Pary On, Excellent." Depending on the goal of the show this might fit, but if you're trying to make a professional impression, maybe have a friend do some voice-over and buy a $5 track from Tunereel and blend the two. There is a hum in the background. Either turn something off or use something like the noise reduction in Hindenburg Pro. Some people leave the ums in, and some people (me) will remove the "low-hanging" ums. For me, it makes you sound more confident and prepared.Just a bit more planning to introduce the topic, and the book. If you're using one mic, go buy a second one (I like the Samson Q2U, and if needed a Podtrak P4 to record you, and then edit in software later). It just sounds a little 'bommy" like you're in a cave or fishbowl.I didn't hear an obvious benefit in your show, and for the record, I need to add one to this show. The description in the audio was great. The artwork is cute. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingThe written description seemed a bit overkill. Starting with an ad is not my favorite way to start, BUT it was a sponsor that fit the audience (so a +1 and -1). The review talk while sincere, do not help you grow your show or boost the algorithm. They do not reflect all-time listening records and are not a measure of the largest podcasts by listenership. While the exact algorithm cannot be shared to protect their integrity, the charts measure a mix of the following:Listening: When listeners are engaging with episodes, it's an indicator of content popularity.Follows: When listeners follow a show to receive new episodes, it's an indicator of their intent to listen.Completion Rate: When listeners complete episodes, it's an indicator of content quality.Ratings, reviews, and sharesAlthough ratings, reviews, and shares also help indicate a podcast's newness, popularity, and quality, they are not factored into the algorithm that determines the rankings for Top Shows and Top Episodes. As a male, I am again bummed that I'm not wanted. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingI wanted to hear both sides of this argument, and the first host started, and the second one agreed and repeated (more or less) the same point. Then a third point was made that was more or less the first and FINALLY stated the other side. I wanted to hear about the desert buffet approach, and at 5 minutes in, after hearing the same thing repeatedly (hey, it's hard to decide what you want to be when you grow up). The audio that started off the show was not as good as the audio quality of the rest of the show. It wasn't horrible, but it was noticeable. I could hear your smile. The intro was very warm, and for the most part got to the introduction of the episode (you did a great job of explaining what the show is). What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingThen, instead of providing a list of subjects that would be covered and explaining who the guest is and why you have them on, you provided a summary of every topic (so do I need to hear what Lisa said? You just told me). All the chit-chat stuff is not bad to have in your show but put it AFTER the interview where you can talk about YOUR reflections of the conversation (and reinforce that it is still YOUR show). Do we need the backstory of the hosts to understand why they quit their show? Put a voiceover on that and announce what the show is about and what is coming up in the episode. The first host's microphone is a little muddy. I would look into an ATR 2100X or a Samson Q2U. Then you took EIGHT MINUTES to get to something that resembled the title of the episode. You spent most of that 8 minutes begging for donations. Followed by the other host ASKING FOR DONATIONS. Do this at the end of the show AFTER you've delivered VALUE. You don't benefit until your audience benefits (and only 3% if you're good will donate). He has built a business which now employs over 30 people. Ten years in, and the company sustains him without his involvement. He now travels the world on a mission to uncover what it means to live an independent and meaningful life. This podcast was previously Our Voices.Website: https://storiesofmenpodcast.com/What I Liked About This EpisodeThe audio production was great. I see so many people who make a story based on the soundscaping. This is a great example of a great story (without the soundscape) and the production is the icing on top that makes it better and enhances the experience. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingI had to jump through a bunch of hoops to download the file, and couldn't find the episode on the website. Your website is listed in the app, and the episodes are on your website to boost SEO. Also, I love that your site has follow buttons on the front page. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingThe music is too loud in your opening (just a touch). Your microphone needs a tweak. I would add just a pinch of treble (which would help your voice cut through over the music) and maybe just a bit of bass.I get that you added a note to the show after you recorded, BUT the audio was about a five on a scale from 1 to 10, with the air conditioner (or whatever it was ) being very loud. Unfortunately, this is the first audio I heard, and I was worried that this was the audio quality for the show. It wasn't, but I would've tuned out if I had not been reviewing the show. DescriptionJimmy and Annette want to help make faith real for the rest of us by sharing stories and experiences from 30 years in ministry together as a blended family living up in a down world. Come along for the ride and just maybe you'll laugh, cry, relate, and learn something in the processWebsite: https://www.livingupinadownworld.com/What I Liked About This EpisodeThe audio sounded great, and you two (shocking) have good chemistry. I loved the second half of the show when you got into a decent story, and it got a little more faith-related. It got me to think. If you can make me think, I'm your friend for life. What I Thought Could Use Some PolishingWhile the intro song is fun, I think you need to remind people this is about sharing stories of faith. There was a TON of talk about food before we got to anything faith-based. All I would do is swap this out. Start with the faith-related story, and then (for the super fans) do more of the activity report. I liked the report about Adam Curry's birthday because I know and grew up with Adam. I'm not sure other people would. It was 20 minutes in when we got to a good, "I wonder what is going to happen next?" moment which led to a discussion of faith, forgiveness, and something I could apply to my life.
