The Tampa Bay Rays had their first winning homestead 4-3 by securing the win against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday afternoon. The Tampa Bay Rays were well represented on Tuesday evening in Seattle at the All-Star game as Randy Arozarena put on a show in the first inning robbing Freddie Freeman at the wall, then later getting a single (promptly caught stealing). Yandy Diaz got the scoring started with a solo shot in the second inning. However, the Rays were also disrespected as both Shane McClanahan and Wander Franco were skipped during the introductions. Wander Franco got in the game late and had one at bat where he battled and almost provided a game-tying home run that turned out to be a warning track flyout.
