Two questions: 1. Who am I doing this for and 2. Why am I doing this? We need to understand what our purposes for what we do. Because it is a reflection of who we are. And who are we? We need to live within alignment of our life purpose. Which is being in alignment with who we are, being in alignment with our soul’s purpose. This may be very different from what we know ourselves to be and what we do in the physical world because the soul’s purpose is from the spiritual (different from religion) world. So if you know what you do, like if you are a teacher for example. You may be a teacher and use your skills or go beyond being a teacher if you follow your soul’s purpose. We need to be unapologetically us and live life with vacation eyes and just be ourselves, be authentic, just be. We need to live life as who we were meant to be, be confident, and embrace our unique gifts. But we need to discover who we are first. And that is the transformational journey that we all need to go through. We need to get beyond the ego, because the ego is just a false sense of identity. We need to get beyond the labels that we put on things, and understand where we are so that we know where we need to go. In order for us to do that we need to detach from our ego self and really, just be. Just be you, the unique you. We, just need to be, all of us. It’s a beautiful space of love, light, peace, joy... things that we talked about, feelings we have felt. In these moments we are living from our soul, the spiritual side, and we are present. Living in the present is the most beautiful gift

I share with you my understanding and shifting, going from within and shifting. Moving away from the physical world and teachings as we know it. Going from the physical world to the spiritual world and its significance. Learning peace and love and all levels. We need to learn how to live in harmony with our physical being and our spiritual being. We learn to how we learn how to just be. We learn what just is. We learn to let go. We learn to believe. We learn to trust the process. We learn to be open, and ask our spiritual guides for assistance to go where we need to go. Our conscience awareness, intuitively continuing our journey for our soul’s purpose. We are unique beings. Learn to ask yourself better questions. The truth of who we really are will be unveiled. Wisdom & Love ❤️ from the Dalai Lama Remember that sometimes not getting what you want is a wonderful stroke of luck. Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible. My religion is very simple. My religion is kindness. Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions. If you want others to be happy, practice compassion. If you want to be happy, practice compassion. Our prime purpose in this life is to help others. And if you can't help them, at least don't hurt them. This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness. Love and compassion are necessities, not luxuries. Without them, humanity cannot survive. The purpose of our lives is to be happy. We can never obtain peace in the outer world until we make peace with ourselves. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/foreveryoung/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/foreveryoung/support

https://jamesclear.com/milo Strength Training Basics How to Build Muscle: Strength Lessons from Milo of Croton by James Clear    |     Habits, Strength Training Nearly 2,500 years ago, there was a man of incredible strength and athleticism roaming the hills of southern Italy. His name was Milo of Croton and he was almost certainly the most successful wrestler of his day. Milo was a six-time wrestling champion at the Ancient Olympic Games in Greece. In 540 BC, he won the boys wrestling category and then proceeded to win the men's competition at the next five Olympic Games in a row. He also dominated the Pythian Games (7-time winner), Isthmian Games (10-time winner), and Nemean Games (9-time winner). In the rare event that an athlete won not only the Olympic title, but also all three other games in one cycle, they were awarded the title of Periodonikes, a grand slam winner. Milo won this grand slam five times. Now for the important question: What can Milo's incredible strength teach you about how to build muscle and improve your health and fitness? The answer is covered in a story about how Milo developed his strength… How to Build Muscle Like Milo of Croton It is said that Milo built his incredible strength through a simple, but profound strategy. One day, a newborn calf was born near Milo's home. The wrestler decided to lift the small animal up and carry it on his shoulders. The next day, he returned and did the same. Milo continued this strategy for the next four years, hoisting the calf onto his shoulders each day as it grew, until he was no longer lifting a calf, but a four-year-old bull. The core principles of strength training and how to build muscle are encapsulated in this legendary tale of Milo and the bull. Strength Training: The Core Principles “When you first start to study a field, it seems like you have to memorize a zillion things. You don’t. What you need is to identify the core principles – generally three to twelve of them – that govern the field. The million things you thought you had to memorize are simply various combinations of the core principles.” —John T. Reed The health and fitness industry is filled with unnecessary complexity and thousands of experts sharing conflicting ideas. If there is anything I've learned during 10 years of strength training, it's that mastering the fundamentals is more valuable than worrying about the details. As an example, let's discuss three of the core principles of strength training that are hidden in the story of Milo of Croton and the bull. Here they are… 1. Start too light: Focus on volume before intensity. 2. Don't miss workouts. 3. Increase in very small ways. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/foreveryoung/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/foreveryoung/support

Whether figuratively or literally, there are many benefits of connecting with good eye contact because it’s one of the easiest and most powerful ways to make a person feel recognized, understood and validated, says an Art of Charm article. The simple act of holding someone’s gaze — whether it’s a new girl, a prospective employer or an old friend — has the power to ignite or deepen a relationship. That’s why it’s so important, and that’s why it’s one of the fundamental skills we emphasize so strongly at The Art of Charm. To understand why eye contact is so important, we need to appreciate how central it is to the human experience. As it happens, humans — the only primates with white eyes — are drawn to eye contact from an early age. A 2002 study from MIT found that infants were far more likely to try and follow an adult’s eyes rather than just their head movements. And beyond the science, think about your personal experience: We study people’s eyes to judge their character, we notice when someone meets our gaze, and we are highly conscious of where our eyes wander. Eye contact is deeply rooted in our DNA. In fact, you’re reading this article in large part because your caveman ancestors had an intuitive mastery of eye contact. Back then, eye contact meant the difference between life and death, attraction and indifference. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/foreveryoung/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/foreveryoung/support

Forgiveness: Letting go of grudges and bitterness These wounds can leave you with lasting feelings of anger and bitterness — even vengeance. But if you don't practice forgiveness, you might be the one who pays most dearly. By embracing forgiveness, you can also embrace peace, hope, gratitude and joy. Consider how forgiveness can lead you down the path of physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. What is forgiveness? Forgiveness means different things to different people. Generally, however, it involves a decision to let go of resentment and thoughts of revenge. The act that hurt or offended you might always be with you, but forgiveness can lessen its grip on you and help free you from the control of the person who harmed you. Forgiveness can even lead to feelings of understanding, empathy and compassion for the one who hurt you. Forgiveness doesn't mean forgetting or excusing the harm done to you or making up with the person who caused the harm. Forgiveness brings a kind of peace that helps you go on with life. What are the benefits of forgiving someone? Letting go of grudges and bitterness can make way for improved health and peace of mind. Forgiveness can lead to: Healthier relationships Improved mental health Less anxiety, stress and hostility Lower blood pressure Fewer symptoms of depression A stronger immune system Improved heart health Improved self-esteem Why is it so easy to hold a grudge? Being hurt by someone, particularly someone you love and trust, can cause anger, sadness and confusion. If you dwell on hurtful events or situations, grudges filled with resentment, vengeance and hostility can take root. If you allow negative feelings to crowd out positive feelings, you might find yourself swallowed up by your own bitterness or sense of injustice. Some people are naturally more forgiving than others. But even if you're a grudge holder, almost anyone can learn to be more forgiving. What are the effects of holding a grudge? If you're unforgiving, you might: Bring anger and bitterness into every relationship and new experience Become so wrapped up in the wrong that you can't enjoy the present Become depressed or anxious Feel that your life lacks meaning or purpose, or that you're at odds with your spiritual beliefs Lose valuable and enriching connectedness with others How do I reach a state of forgiveness? Forgiveness is a commitment to a personalized process of change. To move from suffering to forgiveness, you might: Recognize the value of forgiveness and how it can improve your life Identify what needs healing and who needs to be forgiven and for what Consider joining a support group or seeing a counselor Acknowledge your emotions about the harm done to you and how they affect your behavior, and work to release them Choose to forgive the person who's offended you Move away from your role as victim and release the control and power the offending person and situation have had in your life As you let go of grudges, you'll no longer define your life by how you've been hurt. You might even find compassion and understanding. What happens if I can't forgive someone? Forgiveness can be challenging, especially if the person who's hurt you doesn't admit wrong. If you find yourself stuck: Practice empathy. Try seeing the situation from the other person's point of view. Ask yourself why he or she would behave in such a way. Perhaps you would have reacted similarly if you faced the same situation. Reflect on times you've hurt others and on those who've forgiven you. Write in a journal, pray or use guided meditation — or talk with a person you've found to be wise and compassionate, such as a spiritual leader, a mental health provider, or an impartial loved one or friend. Be aware that forgiveness is a process, and even small hurts may need to be revisited and forgiven over and over again. https://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-lifestyle/adult-health/in-depth/forgiveness/art-20047692 --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/foreveryoung/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/foreveryoung/support

The mighty and imposing oak tree is strong and seemingly invincible, standing sometimes for hundreds of years. Yet fierce winds and driving rain make it vulnerable to destruction because of its rigidity and shallow root system. On the other hand, the palm tree is much better at weathering storms because of its pliable trunk and deeper root system that allow it to sway with strong winds and hold fast despite saturated soil. The palm tree may bend, but it will not break and will indeed thrive despite intense weather. Like the palm tree, we too can develop resilience and thrive, even in the face of life’s storms. “The mighty and imposing oak tree is strong and seemingly invincible, standing sometimes for hundreds of years.” Thriving True thrivers are not necessarily fortunate people who have known only advantage or good luck. Life for most of us is largely a set of unpredictable events, many of which can be extremely difficult or even tragic. Yet each one of us can thrive, not just despite but because of adversity; life’s challenges give us the opportunity to adapt to change and develop a sense of empowerment by refusing to reside within a victim mentality. When we resist rigidity and embrace adaptability, we are truly able to guide our own futures. “Life for most of us is largely a set of unpredictable events, many of which can be extremely difficult or even tragic.” Healing Techniques One way to develop resilience and adaptability is through mindful meditation, which does not require the difficult and intimidating practice of sitting still or emptying the mind. An example of mindful meditation is the ancient ritual of drum circles, where repetitive and ritualized beats naturally drew the mind into a state of receptivity to new ideas and the willingness to let go of limiting thoughts and behaviors. “An example of mindful meditation is the ancient ritual of drum circles” Drumming Drumming can take place anywhere and anytime. Tapping on your knees, on cushions with your hands, or on an exercise ball with drumsticks can quiet your mind, release endorphins and create a safe space in which you can release fear, hurt and resentment and establish an intention to attract prosperity, health, love and self-expression. “Drumming can take place anywhere and anytime.” Conclusion Any form of mindful meditation, whether it is sitting outside or just following the beat of a pleasing piece of music, can help you access the resilient palm tree within and shed the rigidity of the oak.
