Hello beautiful people
Today's society seems to be driven by polls. Decisions and direction are determined by the voice of the majority. Polls set political agenda, marketing strategy and community development. But polls must not determine Biblical teaching. Dr. John reminds us that Bible teaching tied to the voice of a generation will become dated. The truth of God's Word is the only sure and reliable guide for life and eternity. Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Too often, Christians evaluate preachers and teachers without understanding the criteria by which they are evaluating. We like them, or don't like them. So-and-so is better, but he's not bad. What makes us draw those conclusions? Are our conclusions based on the trustworthiness of these teachings, or are they based on our own personal preferences? In this 5-message series, Bible Teaching You Can Trust, join Back to the Bible Canada's Dr. John Neufeld as he breaks down the characteristics of trustworthy Bible teaching, and how to spot teaching that is not focusing on the real meaning of the Scriptures. At the end of the day, the Bible is centred around the one true God of the Bible. By clinging to that truth and sitting under teaching that prioritizes God as the centre of the Bible, you are most certainly receiving Bible teaching you can trust.
Some approach the Bible like a set of instructions for life, emphasizing what we should do. We ought to obey the 10 commandments, slay the Goliaths of our life and remain as faithful as Daniel. Their instruction focuses on our efforts and abilities. But the Bible is about God's grace rather than our efforts. Dr. John reminds us that good Bible teaching is about the actions of God, not the efforts of humanity. Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Too often, Christians evaluate preachers and teachers without understanding the criteria by which they are evaluating. We like them, or don't like them. If a love letter is all about the thoughts and feelings of the author, you may wonder if the letter is misguided. Shouldn't the letter be about the beloved? Much of today's Bible teaching is like that. Sermons are filled with our own concerns and problems. But shouldn't Bible teaching be about God? Today Dr. John reminds us that Bible teaching you can trust keeps God center stage. The Bible is not a "How to?" manual, but a testament to His glory.Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Too often, Christians evaluate preachers and teachers without understanding the criteria by which they are evaluating. SYNOPSIS:Following the enthusiastic feedback from Philip's inaugural appearance on the podcast with his episode "Embodied Intelligence: Wholeness, Sensitivity, and the Pelvic Bowl," we knew we had to bring him back! If you haven't listened to his episode yet, we highly recommend you do! In this recorded version of our live Q&A event, step into the world of the body's intelligence – delve deep into the intricacies of embodiment where our audience had the opportunity to interact directly with Philip and Ali. Enjoy a grounding meditation to start it off, offered up by Phlip as a unifying and grounding exercise as well as a basis for questions to arise. Some of the questions posed: How do you experience the thought or the mind of the body?Could you discuss the difference between our conventional understanding of vigilance and the vigilance of the present moment, and how we might underestimate its potential significance in our lives? What does it mean if we open ourselves to the information that's available and we think with all of our senses, not just our brain? Please talk about how you understand that. What is the fear or resistance to just turn ourselves over to the body as the medium for knowing the world?Philip, where are you mapping the body, considering the balance between conscious and unconscious processes? How can we navigate our conscious mind to avoid potential pitfalls? Can you elaborate on mastering the mind within the broader context, where the heart houses the mind?I felt comfortable and truthful when I was in my head, but descending to my heart felt like entering a dogfight. There's a constant tug of war between being present and feeling pulled away by a powerful force that insists I shouldn't be here. It's a struggle filled with violence as I try to stay grounded. While there's relief in being in my body, it feels temporary, like I can't stay for long. How can I navigate this internal conflict and find a sense of home within myself? What can you say of the differences or advantages of spending time relating with people living from their head and those who are living from a greater sense of wholeness and embodiment? How do we be with others from that perspective?I'm curious about your perspective on the phenomenon of projection. After spending time with someone, I often find myself experiencing emotions that I don't believe are my own. For instance, if I'm with someone who appears sad, I might leave the interaction feeling sad myself. This seems to blur the line between feeling and thinking, as I'm left questioning why I'm experiencing certain emotions. How do you understand and navigate this process of projection? How do you approach or reconcile this heightened awareness of the Earth's pain as you become more connected to your body and the Earth itself?Regarding the concept of wholeness, groundedness, and centeredness. During the exercise, as we delved deeper towards the pelvic bowl, there was a profound sense of resonance and silence that felt ancient and powerful. Can you speak to the significance of this resonance and the profound silence experienced in that moment, where it felt like one unified body rather than individual bodiesTo be an angel to the podcast, click here: To read more about the podcast, click here: MORE ALI MEZEY:Website: https://www.alimezey.comPersonal Geometry® and the Magic of Mat Work Course information:Transgenerational Healing Films: FOR MORE PHILIP SHEPHERD: https://embodiedpresent.comBIO: Philip Shepherd is recognized as a leader in the global embodiment movement. Enjoy a profound meditation gifted by Philip Shepherd at the beginning of our recent live Q&A event as a grounding exercise and basis for profound state-shifts through the geography of the body. We've provided a stand-alone version of the mediation for those of you who want to use it on a regular basis. This meditation offers a practice to explore the body's intelligence and challenge cultural beliefs about the supremacy of the mind over the body. By focusing on our centre of awareness, and connecting with the fluidity of the body's inner ocean, the meditation guides participants to center themselves first in the head, then in the heart, in the tanden and finally on the pelvic floor. Each centering allows for a unique experience and awareness of the world from that altered perspective. Participants are encouraged to soften into each experience, notice how it feels, and label it with a word to aid in remembrance. This practice offers an opportunity to ground oneself, explore different centers of awareness within the body, and attune to the world within and around them.To be an angel to the podcast, click here: To read more about the podcast, click here: MORE ALI MEZEY:Website: https://www.alimezey.comPersonal Geometry® and the Magic of Mat Work Course information:Transgenerational Healing Films: FOR MORE PHILIP SHEPHERD: https://embodiedpresent.comBIO: Philip Shepherd is recognized as a leader in the global embodiment movement. Transcript:Hello! This is Pastor Don of Christ Redeemer Church. Welcome to The Kingdom Perspective! What does a humble person look like? If you ran into a truly humble person, what would be their standout characteristic? Would they go on and on, trying to prove or show off their humility? Or would they be timid and withdrawn, displaying a sense of self-hatred? No, none of these at all. Remember, the Lord Jesus was “gentle and humble of heart”. Did He operate this way? So, what does a humble person look like? I think C.S. Lewis gives us some insight in his classic book Mere Christianity. Listen to what He says:“Do not imagine that if you meet a really humble man he will be what most people call ‘humble' nowadays: he will not be a sort of greasy, smarmy person, who is always telling you that, of course, he is nobody. Probably all you will think about him is that he seemed a cheerful, intelligent chap who took a real interest in what you said to him. If you do dislike him, it will be because you feel a little envious of anyone who seems to enjoy life so easily. He will not be thinking about humility: he will not be thinking about himself at all.”~C.S. Lewis, Mere Christianity Jesus models such humility by the attitude he had toward us. In humility, He did not use his status to impress us, but to empty Himself for us. His humility flowed from a contented heart that connected to the heart of others. And that's something to think about from The Kingdom Perspective. “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others. Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”~ Philippians 2:3-11 (ESV)

A meditation anchor serves as a focal point that helps to maintain presence and prevent the mind from wandering. One of the most accessible and commonly used anchors is the breath. By directing our attention to the physical sensations associated with breathing, we can ground ourselves in the present moment. To begin, find a comfortable position and maybe close your eyes. Focus on the natural movement of your breath and take notice of where you feel it the most in your body. Engage in non-judgmental curiosity and let your focus settle on the breath without forcing or changing it. As you continue, remain aware of any thoughts that arise, but avoid reacting or becoming overwhelmed by them. Remember that thoughts are not hard evidence – they simply exist, and we have the power to choose how we respond to them. With consistent practice, the ability to detach from thoughts and feelings can be developed. By observing these mental phenomena without giving them too much meaning or influence, we can gradually shift our perspective and regain a sense of control. This detachment allows us to gain insight from our thoughts and feelings without being consumed by them. We recognize that our minds and hearts are not rigid, but instead are capable of change. By directing our attention back to the breath, which serves as our anchor, we remain rooted in the present moment. Learn more about your ad choices. In our latest podcast episode, we explore what it means to bring learner-centeredness into animal training. Drawing from the American Psychological Association's 14 principles of learner-centered instruction, for the sake of time, we focus on 5 broader cornerstones. These cornerstones include learner-led, values-oriented, relevant to real life experiences, evidence-based and carefully crafted, and competency vs. skills based. Throughout the episode, we provide examples of how these cornerstones have been successfully implemented in cases; from soliciting feedback proactively with contrived communication systems, to engaging animals as collaborators and empowering them with the tools to construct pathways and solutions that we humans may not have conceived of as potential options. David Mathis | We might assume the God-centeredness of God would lead to the Christ-centeredness of Christ, but the Gospels present a more complex and wonderful picture.
In the last lunation before the next Eclipse cycle, it's important to deliberately find your inner peace, be the observer when situations heat up, and feel your way into a future-forward higher quality of life, simply because your creativity, laughter, joy, play in life matters. We find ourselves, we find each other.
The biblical mindset puts God and his glory, not man and his desires, at the center of the universe. And grasping this blazing center unlocks the greatness of the gospel.
