“Family Fun Day 2026” from www.vopwc.org by Pastor NR Taylor, Jr.. The post Family Fun Day 2026 appeared first on Voice Of Praise Worship Center.

We received a voice note from Mrs Van Staden, a teacher at a primary school, who says her school is holding a colour-run fundraiser this Saturday and the teachers are expected to be there. The problem? They’re not being paid for it. And that raises a very real question for teachers: when does your working week actually end? Because teaching isn’t necessarily a “bell rings at 2pm, you go home” job. Teachers can be expected to attend parent meetings, sports events, cultural activities, school functions and other duties outside the formal school day. The official Personnel Administrative Measures actually recognise extra and co-curricular duties outside the formal school day, and say educators are expected to account for 1,800 actual working hours a year. But what happens when that duty lands on a Saturday? Hang out with Anele and The Club on 947 every weekday morning. In this episode of American Potential, host David From sits down with Austin von Letkemann—known to millions online as “Mandatory Funday”—to talk about his journey from joining the Army at 18 to becoming a leading voice in military culture and humor. Austin shares how a simple decision to enlist turned into a 14-year career of service, and how he discovered his voice as a content creator—using humor to connect with service members, veterans, and civilians alike. He opens up about overcoming self-doubt, building a platform that resonates across ranks, and how the discipline he learned in the military helped him succeed as a business owner and creator. The conversation also explores the deeper impact of his work—from helping veterans laugh through tough times to reconnecting families—and why he's now focused on giving back even more as he transitions out of active duty. This episode is a powerful reminder that service can take many forms—and sometimes, making people laugh can make a real difference.

It's Fun Day Monday on The Majority report. *Fun Day is not in any way a promise of fun in any shape or form. On today's program: Once again, Iran has ended negotiations with the U.S. as a result of Israel expanding operations in southern Lebanon. Wali Khan, a multimedia journalist covering state violence, joins the show to discuss the protests at Delaney Hall Ice Detention Center in Newark, New Jersey. Jose Luis Granados Ceja, journalist covering Latin America at Drop Site News, joins MR to discuss updates on the U.S.'s blockade on Cuba and the potential of a military invasion. In the Fun Half: Senator Chuck Schumer speaks at the Israel Day Parade in NYC, where he unironically argues that a Jewish state is necessary because of the fear of Jews being violently expelled from their homes, even as Israel carries out the same policy against Palestinians. Historian Yuval Noah Harari says if after 2,000 years the "Jews simply become the Romans, what was the point?". Dave Rubin fails miserably on his Jubilee Surrounded episode. All that and more. In this powerful episode of Reading With Your Kids, Jed welcomes Doug Noll, lawyer-turned-peacemaker and author of Deescalate: How to Calm an Angry Person in 90 Seconds or Less. Doug explains how neuroscience shows we are driven far more by emotion than by rational thought—and how our culture's habit of shaming or ignoring emotions actually damages kids' brains and relationships. He shares how simple emotional validation ("You're really angry…you really wanted that candy bar…you feel unloved") can quickly calm a child's nervous system, reduce tantrums, and build lifelong emotional strength. Doug describes practical tools for parents and teachers, including "listening children into existence," using emotion labels instead of punishment in heated moments, and creating listening circles in classrooms to cut down on disruptions and discipline referrals. He also talks about teaching these same skills to incarcerated people and the remarkable results they've seen in reducing violence and recidivism. Later in the episode, Jed is joined by Mireya Saldua, who shares her joyful bilingual picture book "Fun Day with Misa." Inspired by her energetic grandpuppy, Misa, Mireya created a story that celebrates the special bond between grandparents and children, especially in Hispanic families. The book appears in both English and Spanish on each page, with fun seek-and-find elements like Misa's blue bone and her name written in Japanese characters. Mireya talks about expanding Come Along with Misa into a series, centering kindness, inclusion, and diverse characters—plus activity sheets, birthday cards, and music to keep families reading, playing, and learning together.

The 8-Ball Tavern‘s new owners Julie, Jen and Audrey, join Herlinda Heras and Daedalus Howell on Brew Ha Ha today. This is their first time on the show. They have taken over the 8-Ball, which has been through quite a few incarnations. Julie has been running it for the last 8 years. Cotati is a college town, SSU is nearby. Herlinda has known the bar since university days, and has known Julie for a while too. Yesterday we celebrated the 55th anniversary of the 1971 California Supreme Court decision that finally allowed women to bartend. Before that, the only women who could bartend legally in California were those whose male family members owned the bar, or those who owned the bar’s license themselves. There were various reasons given for the prohibition, which included some chauvinistic attitudes. Herlinda describes the legal twist. When a bar owner petitioned to open a topless bar, the judgement struck down the previous law as discriminatory. Because of this decision, the state had to allow women bartenders.•••••Visit Russian River Brewing Co. in Santa Rosa on 4th St. and at their big Windsor location. Check out their website and socials for up-to-date hours, menus, beers and more.••••• Griffo Espresso Martinis There is a new vibe and new umbrellas, and it’s a lot cleaner than it was, but without significant changes to the dive bar look. “We just want to make a happy place for people to come and vibe and just be themselves.” There are food trucks that come. Mondays and Tuesdays there are great tacos. Sunday is Fun Day, with all kinds of games. They are open from 7am to 2am every day. They are at 8 Charles Street in Cotati. Some of the old bartenders from back in the day are back, such as Jim and Cassie. This has brought some of the old patrons back too. They have restored the place and positioned it for the future to provide a safe place for people in the community to meet. There is a new coffee machine and they still have three pool tables with a pool league on Friday nights starting June 21. Customer Safety is Paramount The 8-Ball Tavern new owners are committed to making it a safe place for women. There are plenty of security guards and the bar staff are trained to look for signs of bad behavior. They have HenHouse Hazy, Old Caz One-Way IPA, PVA on tap, many beers from Morris distributing, like Bear Republic Racer 5 and Farmer’s Light. There are also have lots of bottles of beers from outside the area. They have seven or eight taps, which are the fresher, local beers. Every Bloody Mary is made by hand and every bartender has a style. Follow the 8-Ball Tavern Instagram page for all the latest info. They have three shifts at their bar, 7 to 12, 12 to 6, then 6 to 2am. Any time is good, and “…the daytime crowd is so cool.” And they would be amenable to a remote broadcast on the back patio, so stay tuned for that!
