In the early stages of the pandemic, Parks used the Hilton Garden Inn’s kitchen to bake cookies for first responders as well as personally made masks for the people of Annapolis. This gave brith to her contest #Masks4Annapolis that encouraged others to help make masks for donation. She rallied Annapolis’ mayor, State Delegates Shaneka Henson & Dana Jones, State Senator Sarah Elfreth, and office of emergency management to help spread the word of the contest. She even got members #GoodCharlotte to serve as judges!
April was working totally alone at the Moxy on Christmas morning when the explosion occurred. No other team members or managers were allowed into the hotel for 12 hours after the explosion. April single handedly took care of all of the guests during this incredibly trying situation.
