Tim shares his background and how he got into the food business, growing up in a family-owned company. He discusses RESCO's focus on providing exceptional sales support for food service manufacturers, including lead generation and marketing materials. Tim shares his perspective on listening to customers and focusing on their needs, as well as the value of personalization and experiential marketing in the industry. He also highlights the power of creating memorable connections with customers and the importance of staying focused in a rapidly changing industry.Quotes“You have to listen, right? This episode is sponsored by Resco.net. Power Platform has influenced how Microsoft customers and partners evaluate how to extend or customize business systems, including for mobile scenarios. Microsoft has adjusted its marketing around Power Platform over the years, with early emphasis on the citizen developers and no-code customization and now promoting its strengths as a development platform for everyone from business users to pro developers. To help us get another perspective on the state of mobile business solutions in the Dynamics and Power Platform space, we are talking to Ben Mitchell of Resco, he leads partnerships and success in North America for the company. He updates us on how Resco sees their mobile solution development expertise aligning with the strengths and limitations of today's core Microsoft technologies. Customers still need to deploy advanced mobile capabilities that core Power Platform tools can't address, including under demanding conditions. He explains what some of those requirements are and why Resco believes they and their partners are well positioned to meet those needs while staying aligned with Microsoft's vision.

Rob Smith is the founder of Resco Instruments, an American Watch Brand. Resco was not conceived overnight but rather over many years of careful planning and consideration. As a matter of fact, R.E. dreamed of building a watch company many years ago but due to the dynamic nature of his "Day Job" things had to be put on hold. During this time, designs were refined and plans were laid just waiting for the right time to be set into motion. In 2009, the time was right. Founded in 2009, Resco Instruments set out to build a sleek, simple and rugged timepiece. This vision was realized with the production of the Gen1 Patriot model. Ernest and Rob discuss: Small Towns, Tinkering, life & death on a farm, crisis, SEALs, watches, fire fighters, the Bosnia Conflict, Over-Enginnered, watch movements, PTSD, Turkish Coffee, and much more. You can find more info about Resco Instruments at: https://rescoinstruments.com/ or 619-203-4581

On average, people spend over 4 hours a day on their phones, so it makes sense for organizations to think about Mobility when it comes to their Dynamics 365 implementations. But often, Mobility falls to an afterthought on implementations, functionality relegated to Phase 2 or 3. Organizations focus on the overall solution and just want to make sure that this solution is available on the users' phones and tablets. On this episode, I talk to Ivan Stano from Resco.net, which is the leading mobile client third party provider for Dynamics 365. Now, since Ivan invited me to their annual mobility conference in Atlanta he probably thought I was going to take it easy on him, but that wasn't the case...here are some of the things we discuss: When did Resco get into the CRM Mobile Client business? Why did they decide to NOT release a client for Blackberry even though Blackberry was the market leader at that time? What was their reaction when Microsoft announced their partnership with CWR Mobility a few years ago, effectively "killing Resco and TenDigits" in the process? How did they manage to survive that partnership while their competitors "closed shop"? Are they being acquired by Microsoft? Now that they are partners with Microsoft, what are they doing to ensure this partnership works out, unlike the CWR partnership? Is Microsoft coming up with their own Field Service App? Does Resco have its days counted? I would like to thank Ivan Stano from Resco.net for his time answering my questions and sharing their story.
