On September 19, 2023, House Republican groups reached a deal on a stopgap government funding bill that will keep the government running through December 16. The deal includes $12.3 billion in emergency aid for Ukraine, as well as funding for disaster relief and border security. The deal is a victory for House Speaker Kevin McCarthy, who has been trying to unify his party around a spending bill.
