The Searching for Political Identity podcast is a thought-provoking and engaging show hosted by Brian, a law student in San Diego. With his informative and unbiased approach, he aims to educate his listeners on various issues and initiatives without pushing his own opinions. The podcast covers current topics without any partisan nonsense, allowing the audience to form their own conclusions. Brian's delivery is excellent, making it easy to listen to him discuss critical race theory and other political/legal issues. This podcast brings a lot of value to the table and encourages much-needed discussions in today's world.
One of the best aspects of The Searching for Political Identity podcast is Brian's ability to maintain neutrality while discussing controversial topics. He walks through current issues of the day in a rather neutral way, which helps listeners understand different perspectives without feeling offended or pressured. He genuinely seeks understanding and encourages critical thinking rather than forcing his own opinions on his audience. His efforts to engage in useful conversations and create an open platform for dialogue are commendable.
However, one potential downside of this podcast is that Brian may struggle with taking criticism or responding well when others ask questions about his stances after being insulted. While he appreciates dissenting opinions on social media platforms like Twitter, he might face challenges when confronting them during the actual podcast episodes. This can potentially limit the scope of discussion, as it may discourage some listeners from sharing their opposing views or asking challenging questions.
In conclusion, The Searching for Political Identity podcast offers fascinating insights into various political and legal issues without bias or partisan agenda. Brian's style of walking through current topics neutrally allows listeners to learn and make their own judgments. Although there might be room for improvement in how criticism is handled, this podcast still provides valuable content that encourages intellectual exploration and understanding in today's complex political landscape. It is definitely worth tuning into for anyone seeking thoughtful discussions on important societal issues.
Ryan Mullally and I have a few things in common. We both went to law school as adults, we both detest critical race theory, and we both feel that the Democratic Party no longer represents us.One of the differences we have is that I voted for Trump in November, while he did not — even though he ruled out voting for Harris before he ruled out voting for Trump.Another difference is that while I spend the majority of my free time watching movies and kissing my dog, he spends what little free time he has fiercely defending the application of neutral Constitutional principles in law through his writing and podcast appearances. We had a terrific conversation about the political realignment that is occurring in America and touched upon all the relevant current events of the last few years.Unfortunately, we recorded this three days before the Trump/Boasbert/Roberts drama unfolded. It's too bad because I would have loved to ask him about it. Nonetheless, I found his perspective on everything we talked about sobering and helpful. I'm going to need people like Ryan to keep me honest as I continue to navigate being a defender of The Constitution and a highly politicized new Trump supporter.
Are we headed toward a recession, and would it be so bad if we were?Is MAGA right about Ukraine? My friend Herby Kay, a finance expert and fluent Russian speaker, joined me last night to share his thoughts on those questions. We never got around to discussing Israel as we had intended.Maybe next time!
Shawn Farash is unquestionably the best Trump impersonator in the world. He's brilliant, hilarious, a keen political observer, and a dedicated activist. He's also very kind.It was an honor hosting him!
It was a joy to host Ira Livnat this evening to talk about politics and Jewish American identity. In my opening monologue, I reacted to some headlines and explained who I am for anyone who doesn't know my background. It was a great conversation!
John DePerno is a young conservative - unusually informed for a freshman in college. It was interesting to get his perspective on politics.
Joey Mannarino is one of the premier political consultants and commentators in the game right now.He joined me last night to talk about his rise in politics, Trump, and current events.
Caryn Ann Harlos has been the secretary of the Libertarian National Committee for the last 10 years. She joined me for a great conversation about the political philosophy and party she loves so much.It was one of the best discussions I've had in four years of podcasting.
I am so grateful to my new friend Jake Day for joining me on Saturday for a great chat about political philosophy, current events, and whether I've become a blind Trump loyalist.
Friends of the show Herby Kay and Scott Bell joined me to share their unique perspectives on a variety of current events.
Daniel Martinez and I have a lot in common. He is an attorney who comes from the left but now fully supports Trump. He joined me yesterday to tell me the story of how the Federalist Society came to dominate the Supreme Court since its founding in the early 1980s. I know that sounds like I think it's a bad thing the way I wrote it - but I don't and I assure you that both of us tried to approach the story from a neutral perspective. We are just jurisprudence nerds and wanted to talk about how the court has evolved, that's all. This conversation was a great follow-up to the one I had on Wednesday with my friend MJ who is also an attorney and a three-time Trump voter. I should warn you that I took twenty minutes at the beginning of this episode to talk a bit about myself for anyone who may be interested. Also, Dan and I talked about political identity, psychology, and current events for about forty minutes before we got into the topic at hand — so it's basically an hour before you start to hear the riveting (I think it's riveting) story about SCOTUS. I hope you like this episode of Searching for Political Identity! Thank you very much!
MJ Giasullo is an attorney and old friend from New Jersey. He's also a three-time Trump voter and a very bright guy. It was a blast hosting him last night for the first time in three years! We did a postmortem on the Biden presidency and discussed the first two days of Trump's second term.
Patrick Abbott is a sci-fi author and theologian. I was pleased to host him yesterday to discuss why some people reflexively refer to aliens as demons. This conversation may seem outside of the scope of a podcast called Searching for Political Identity, but for me, it fits in perfectly within the context of thinking outside the box and searching for truth. In the intro, I briefly discussed yesterday's "egg" video and why I have come to believe that humanity has already had contact with extraterrestrials.
Rotimi Adeoye is a passionate and knowledgeable young Democrat who has a lot of experience in DC for his age. Here is our conversation from two weeks ago about the mistakes The Democratic Party made last cycle and the political landscape in general. Did he pull me back to the left? Did I pull him towards Trump? Tune in to find out!
Herby Kay is an autodidact genius Libertarian Zionist Jew who lives in Arizona and happens to have a plan to radically transform American politics called Antipolitism. We had a wide-ranging three-hour conversation about his political philosophy and just about everything else under the sun.
In this episode, I explain critical race theory, argue that the Woke Right exists, and distinguish them from MAGA.
Am I trying to divide MAGA? Have I correctly assessed the Woke Right? Tune in to this bonus episode of Searching for Political Identity to find out!
Jeremy Ryan Slate is an expert on ancient Roman history. He has appeared on some of the biggest podcasts on the planet. He was kind enough to join me earlier today. We covered as much ground on the subject as possible and tried to derive lessons for today.
Brianna Wu is a Democratic political activist. She is also a trans woman. I hope you enjoy our conversation about trans policy, what's wrong with the Democratic Party, my political identity, and other current events. I'm not sure you will agree with her opinion on Elon or Trump. I certainly don't. But she did successfully make me think! In other words, she was a great guest!
Author and Texas secessionist Jason Fry says a split is inevitable, but a second Civil War is not.
Here is my conversation with Makala Doulos, an educator, polymath, follower of Jesus Christ, and a friend from X. We talk about how a person's worldview is the foundation for their political identity. If he represents MAGA, I do not think the left has anything to fear.
It was a pleasure interviewing Brandon Straka!
What happens when a newly minted Trump supporter (me) hosts a conversation/debate between a Harris supporter and the founder of a political ideology called Antipolitism who thinks Trump is the better choice?
It was an honor to host the authors of the excellent book “MY BROTHER'S KEEPER? The Complicated Relationship between American Jews and Israel” on the eve of the first anniversary of October 7th. We talked about many things, including how American Jews are likely to vote in November.
Michael White took time out of his busy campaign schedule tonight to discuss libertarian political philosophy with me. It was super helpful and a lot of fun.
New friend from X @govt_corrupt joined me for a conversation about globalism, communism, corruption, and economics. It was a blast. I hope you like it.
Jamie Miller has seen a lot in his long career as a Republican political consultant. I had a great time talking with him today about a number of specific issues and political philosophy overall. In this clip, he shares his thoughts on Trump and Harris.
Friend of the show Cody joined me for the second time last night. Cody is a brilliant poet, has an MBA and PhD, and recently wrote a dissertation on Restorative Justice. He's an interesting cat. We talked about a slew of topics, some of which are mainstream and some of which would be considered alternative and, frankly, even fantastical. The story goes that he was handed documents from the future in 1998 and now has insight into the world events that are occurring today. For example, Cody says we win WWIII after some initial struggles once Putin dies and Russia flips to the West. Don't even get me started with his prediction for what happens in US politics before the election. Apparently, things get even weirder than they already are. We also talked a bit about aliens. That wasn't on his agenda, but I couldn't resist asking. On the mainstream side, we talked about issues like the justice system, abortion, and nutrition. Buckle up for this one because we entered some strange and fascinating territory. I hope you enjoy it. Let me know what you think!
My decision to vote for Trump does not mean that I have found my overall political identity or that I have any desire to stop talking to people with opposing views. It was an honor to host knowledgeable Democrat and long-time X friend John Bogley. He argued that I should reconsider my support for Trump because he is merely a good salesman who took credit for things that would have happened anyway during his term in office. The main focus of this conversation was Trump's economy. John picked it apart piece by piece. Did he convince me to change my mind? The answer is that I'm firm in my decision. I couldn't have been posting with such conviction over the last few weeks if I wasn't. I see a world now on fire that was under control when Trump was in power, and I want a return to that sense of calm. There are also many other factors that I have laid out extensively lately that have made me all-in for Trump. However, because John is so rational and precise, I will still host him for a follow-up conversation before the election to discuss his opinion on Trump's impact on foreign policy, social issues, and his culpability in the 2020 election drama. I'm honored to stand firm while simultaneously resisting the pull of the echo chamber.
In this episode I tell my 9/11 story, explain why I'm voting for Trump, and share my thoughts on the debate.
Author of “A Radical Reset” and founder of Antipolitism Herby Kay joins me to discuss our current political moment and why we need Antipolitism more than ever.
Friend of the show Scott Bell joined me for another discussion about what he considers critical mistakes made by Western leaders in recent years.
Visionary political leader and prolific author Marianne Williamson joined me to share her perspective on our current political climate.
I had a blast talking to Dr. Guy Golan about what it means to be Jewish and his new book "My Brother's Keeper? The Complicated Relationship between American Jews and Israel." He is spectacular, and the subject of the book is so relevant to what I'm going through.
Ivan Freed's years as a leadership coach and philanthropist led him to conclude that progressive policies are tools of enslavement. Bizzare theory, right? I hope you find the conversation about his book “Chains” as thought-provoking as I did. Buy Chains here
