We sit down with master blender and COO Kieran Walsh of Big Easy Spirits to unpack a five-year whiskey aged in used cooperage and layered with precise infusions—baking spices, citrus peels, and verdant herbs—that amplify what whiskey already does well. No cloying sweetness, no camouflage, just a thoughtfully built 86 proof pour that blooms on ice, hums in a hot toddy, and reshapes what “flavored” can mean without losing its whiskey core.Kieran's journey runs from wine production and restrained oak philosophy to High West's blending lab, where the idea of barrel-aged cocktails and Amaro architecture took root. That background shows in every decision: used barrels keep the oak in line, botanicals track existing whiskey notes rather than fighting them, and the proof point preserves structure in cocktails while staying approachable neat. We explore how hydrophobic compounds unlock aroma with water and heat, why category rules forced a new lane beyond “flavored whiskey,” and how New Orleans—more gumbo than single note—became both muse and proving ground. We also get practical. Expect serving ideas from a minimalist Bourbon Street hot toddy (just whiskey and hot water) to an absinthe-kissed riff worthy of the Old Absinthe House. Kieran shares distribution plans rooted in local love first, then careful expansion to Texas, the Florida panhandle, Mississippi, California, and more. He teases future releases, including older base stocks with alternate infusions and two bourbons waiting in tank—early tasters' reactions ranged from “holy shit” to wide-eyed silence. If you're curious about whiskey innovation, botanical infusions, New Orleans cocktail culture, and how to bridge the gap between purist pours and sugar-heavy flavor bombs, this one's for you. In the days leading up to Thanksgiving 2025, the family and friends of 59-year-old Daniel Davis began to grow increasingly concerned. Dan was known as deeply reliable. His coworkers couldn't even remember him missing a single day of work in decades. Much of Dan's life revolved around his job at 115 Bourbon Street, a well-known music venue in Merrionette Park, Illinois, a southwest suburb just outside the city of Chicago. They soon learned that Dan had been involved in a car accident late on the night of Monday, November 24. After the crash, Dan was dropped off at his workplace, where he walked inside and briefly greeted the two remaining coworkers. In the early morning hours of November 25, Dan was seen walking away from 115 Bourbon Street.Once Dan's loved ones learned about the accident, questions immediately followed. Where was he, and why wasn't he answering calls or text messages? Had Dan sought medical attention afterward? As hours passed without contact, it became clear that something was wrong. Dan was reported missing to the Chicago Police Department, and surveillance footage began to surface.Almost immediately, they noticed something troubling. The surveillance footage was bizarre, but it didn't clearly point to what had happened or where Dan might have gone. When they entered his apartment, they found items left in a manner out of character, deepening the confusion rather than providing answers. The final known surveillance video of Dan was recorded on Wednesday, November 26, around 6:30 p.m. Dan was seen exiting a church in Blue Island, Illinois, a community just south of Chicago. After that moment, Dan Davis vanished without a trace.Despite exhaustive search efforts by law enforcement, family, friends, and volunteers, no further confirmed sightings or answers have emerged. Nearly two months later, what happened to Dan Davis remains a mystery. If you have any information about the disappearance of Dan Davis, please contact the Chicago Police Department Area 2 Special Victims Unit at (312) 747-8274.If you have a missing loved one that you would like to have featured on the show, please fill out our case submission form.Follow The Vanished on social media at:FacebookInstagramPatreonSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.
On this episode of the HOZ Comedy Podcast with Joey, the crew kicks off with Chicago sports talk, questionable betting decisions, and Joey explaining his painted nails, setting the tone for another unpredictable ride. The crew makes a major announcement about the new open mic at 115 Bourbon Street, giving comics something big to look forward to. From there, things spiral into comedy gold as the hosts riff on virtual boos, mega-church culture, and the absurdity of modern entertainment. The conversation jumps from Drewski's skits to the idea of adult puppet movies, proving no topic is too weird for the table. The episode wraps with reactions to football losses, nostalgia for arcades like Arc Raiders, and a bizarre detour into a burnt peanut streamer moment before reminding listeners to pull up to the open mic and subscribe. Funny, chaotic, and very Chicago-like, this one feels like a hang you didn't know you needed.

The "Second Line in the Sky" will be hanging over Bourbon Street through January 18th, but what is coming of plans to install something more permanent? What's the best way to honor the deceased and their families and make it special to New Orleans? Joey DiFatta, a member of the French Quarter Terrorism Attack Memorial Commission, joins Ian Hoch to talk about the future of the memorial.
This hour, Ian Hoch talks about a study that says that cheeseburgers knock 9 minutes off your life, and the official Homeland Security Twitter (X) account posted an odd fascist-esque meme. Then, Ian speaks with Joey DiFatta, a member of the French Quarter Terrorism Attack Memorial Commission, about the future of the "Second Line in the Sky."

“Can I come home?”That's all Graham Allen could bring himself to text his wife after walking out on her while she was pregnant with their third child. He was a combat veteran, a serial drinker, a “degenerate husband” by his own words… and a man on the brink of repeating his father's story. In this raw, unfiltered conversation with Josh McPherson, Graham shares:How a heavy metal concert on Bourbon Street confronted him with the pain he was about to cause his own kidsThe night he sat hidden in a church balcony, broke down, and heard one clear word: “Text her”The four-word text that changed everything: “Can I come home?”Why he says he's “too abrasive for the pulpit but too important to ignore”The real story behind Dear America, his viral truck rants, and billions of viewsWhy he insists, “I'm not a good man. Any good you see is Jesus.”A direct challenge to men to put the bottle down, stop texting that other person, and go homeThis isn't a polished Christian fairytale. It's a story of church hurt, bad decisions, divorce papers on the table, PTSD, pride, and a wife who chose obedience to God over the world's advice. If you're a man on the edge of walking away from your family… or someone who thinks you've gone too far to come back to God… this episode is for you.Support the showThanks for listening! Keith Santangelo joins Wil in-studio to trace his journey from growing up in a Cajun-Italian butcher/grocery family in Baton Rouge to owning New York City restaurants, leading major restaurant groups, and now serving independents through AccessWave. They reminisce about Keith being one of Schedulefly's earliest customers, talk about the magic of independent restaurants as “third places” (with Seinfeld's diner as a touchstone), and unpack how the industry's resilience showed up during COVID. Keith walks through selling his Hell's Kitchen spots before the pandemic, stewarding scratch-kitchen concept Jose Tejas/Border Café through the shutdowns, then running operations and finance for Serafina's global group and navigating licensing vs franchising abroad. From there, he explains why he pivoted from opening more restaurants to building an insurance and benefits solution specifically for hospitality, bringing a “unreasonable hospitality” mindset to a traditionally cold, transactional world. Throughout, they dig into tech overload, the adoption gap between shiny features and what teams actually use, the power of real implementation support, and why everyone should work in a restaurant at least once. The episode lands on family, balance, and why serving independent restaurants still sits at the center of Keith's life and work. 10 Takeaways Hospitality in the DNA – Keith's love for small, family businesses started in his grandfather's meat market and grocery stores, where he quickly gravitated to the front-of-house and guests. Independent restaurants as “home base” – From Seinfeld's diner to neighborhood spots like Pie's Eye, they're the community living rooms where people gather, talk, and feel known. Early Schedulefly believer – Keith adopted Schedulefly around 2008 at Planet Hollywood, brought it to his own restaurants, and has stayed connected to Wil and the brand ever since. Owning and selling in NYC – He co-owned Bourbon Street Bar & Grill and Brazen Tavern in Hell's Kitchen, later selling—partly to be more present with family—and, unknowingly, just ahead of COVID. How deals actually get done – Restaurant valuations often center on a multiple of EBITDA plus lease/liquor-license realities, but in practice many sales hinge on relationships and trusted partners. COVID as a resilience test – At Jose Tejas/Border Café, a 100% dine-in scratch concept with zero to-go, the team reimagined operations from the ground up and came out stronger. Scaling with Serafina – Running ops and finance for a 22-unit, $100M+ Italian group taught Keith the complexity of global growth, including why international licensing can beat franchising. The tech adoption gap – Many operators pay for enterprise tools but use a fraction of the features; if you're only using 20% of the value, you shouldn't be paying 100% of the bill. Hospitality belongs in “boring” sectors – With AccessWave, Keith is importing restaurant-style hospitality into insurance and benefits, aiming to be a true partner, not just a broker. Family as the why – Behind all the big roles and decisions is Keith's desire to provide for and be present with his wife and four kids—while still serving an industry that “saved” so many lives.

And with a stop the next night in Milwaukee for the Lakers, it would have been nice to put away this game in the early moments. im and Todd sit down for their annual "Bourbon on the Banks" wrap-up show, joined by two key figures behind the successful event, Diane Strong and Renee True. As longtime listeners and friends of the show, Diane and Renee dive deep into a "postmortem" of the 2025 festival, discussing its record-breaking successes, logistical challenges, and plans for the future, all while tasting a couple of the event's exclusive barrel picks. The tasting kicks off with the Pursuit United Bourbon on the Banks Pick, a 108-proof bourbon finished with a unique tobacco stave. Todd, Diane, and Renee, who were all part of the large selection team, reflect on their choice, noting that the crowd-pleasing "sweet" and "smooth" profile made it a winner. The pour is rich with notes of sweet pipe tobacco, caramel, and a distinct chocolaty, candy-like quality. The group discusses the massive success of the festival's single-barrel pick program, which featured 11 or 12 different selections this year. Many, like the Bluegrass and Chicken Cock picks, sold out quickly. They also highlight the "rock star" quality of the picking teams, which often included a mix of industry professionals and highly knowledgeable consumers, ensuring a high standard across the board. Diane and Renee share insights into the festival's record-breaking year. The Friday night VIP event, which celebrated "Women in Bourbon," was a huge success. The event's auction was a standout, raising over $22,000 for local charities. Attendance for the main festival hit a new high, selling out a full month in advance and welcoming over 300 more attendees than the previous year. The tiered ticket structure (Special Access, Early Access, General Admission, and Twilight) was successful, and due to positive feedback, the event may be extended by an hour in 2026. The second pour comes with a fantastic backstory: the Dark Arts Bourbon on the Banks 2024 Pick. Due to a distributor mix-up, this 7.5-year-old bourbon, finished in Tokai wine casks, was mistakenly absent from the 2024 festival. The bottles were held in a warehouse for a year and finally made their debut at the 2025 event. Jim, Todd, and Renee—who also selected this barrel—revisit their 113.24-proof pick, praising it as "dessert in a glass" with decadent notes of fig, sweet caramel, and deep, rich oak. The conversation covers the entire weekend, from the positive feedback on the Thursday night "Whiskey Thieves Kickoff" and "Bourbon Street on Broadway" to the packed after-party. A major logistical victory for 2025 was the permanent relocation of the local farmer's market, which previously conflicted with setup. This new freedom will allow the festival to start earlier next year. They also discuss attendee feedback, such as requests for lanyards and a mobile app, and the great community response to inviting more social media influencers and YouTubers to cover the event, which Diane notes helps shine a light on the smaller, craft distilleries that make the festival unique. Be sure to check out our private Facebook group, "The Bourbon Roadies" for a great group of bourbon loving people. You will be welcomed with open arms!
Post Malone BioSnap a weekly updated Biography.Post Malone has been buzzing everywhere this week as rumors reach a fever pitch that he'll headline the Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day halftime show for the 2025 Red Kettle Kickoff. The Dallas Cowboys and the Salvation Army have dropped heavy hints on social media, including visuals of an eighteen-wheeler painted in Post's signature Bud Light blue and a Dak Prescott bobblehead nodding to his “Wow.” lyrics, all but confirming Malone as the performer. Outlets ranging from Holler Country to Whiskey Riff and MySanAntonio are calling his appearance a near lock, though as of today the official announcement is still pending. If true, this slot would be milestone territory as the Cowboys' Thanksgiving show is widely dubbed “second to the Super Bowl” in terms of exposure, and would only deepen Posty's bond with his home state and country music roots.Speaking of country, Malone remains planted firmly in his “country era.” His 2024 album F-1 Trillion continues to perform, and recent behind-the-scenes chatter points toward another country album in the pipeline for 2026. Chart-wise, his career-retrospective The Diamond Collection is still moving units, sitting at number 17 on Hits Daily Double's Top 50 albums for November 7, indicating sustained interest across genres.Social media has been a mixed bag for Post. Instagram analytics show a slight dip of 0.19 percent in followers over the month, holding steady at just under 27 million. Engagement remains respectable, with an average of 142,000 likes and 750 comments per post, but experts note his income from Instagram is trending downward after peaking in 2024. On the lighter side, his humility has gone viral again: a TikTok video of Malone sweetly interacting with a young fan at a restaurant has millions calling him the “nicest guy in music,” reinforcing his reputation for genuine kindness. In lighter headlines, Post dressed up as himself for Halloween and managed to walk Bourbon Street unrecognized, telling Theo Von's podcast all it took was his usual flannel shirt and lack of facial tattoos to go incognito. Meanwhile, fans are humorously campaigning for him to get a Queer Eye makeover, as Karamo Brown from the Netflix show revealed on X. Post himself joked that his fans “just think I'm ugly and smell,” showing classic self-deprecation but also love for the show.Businesswise, his multimillion-dollar tequila venture with Dre London continues to earn buzz, but no new business initiatives have been confirmed this week. On the personal front, Post is still reflecting on fatherhood in recent interviews, sharing adorable anecdotes about his three-year-old daughter's love of George Strait and emphasizing how family has grounded him amid career highs. In sum, with his likely Cowboys Thanksgiving performance, steady music sales, and relentless viral likability, Post Malone continues to prove he is not only a superstar but a cultural touchstone—one who can headline a stadium, charm a child, and step incognito through New Orleans, all in the same week.Get the best deals https://amzn.to/3ODvOtaThis content was created in partnership and with the help of Artificial Intelligence AI

Some hauntings don't just cling to houses—they linger in the places people loved most. This is the terrifying and unforgettable story of a haunted bar in Leesville, Louisiana, where a ghost refused to leave the job she once dedicated her life to. Back in the 1970s, a young worker was hired to help renovate a run-down brick building that had once been a lively bar and disco. Its massive wooden bar had been hauled all the way from Bourbon Street in New Orleans, but the glamour was long gone. Rats ran across the shelves, drunks swore they saw things no one else could, and the air itself carried a strange energy. One night around 3:30 a.m., while painting the ceiling alone, the worker felt the unmistakable sensation of being watched. Turning his head, he saw an elderly woman in glasses, a green hat, and an old coat with a brooch. She smiled but said nothing. When he climbed down to approach her, she simply vanished. The haunting stopped after the renovations, as if the spirit had been released, proud to see the bar brought back to life. For 17 years, it remained the most popular bar in town. This is the story of the smiling woman in the green hat, the bar she refused to leave, and the proof that sometimes the dead still clock in for work. #HauntedBar #LouisianaGhostStory #LeesvilleHaunting #TrueGhostStory #HauntedPlaces #RealGhostStoriesOnline #GhostEncounter #BourbonStreetHaunting #SpiritSighting #ParanormalEncounter Love real ghost stories? In 1946, a New Orleans bar owner named Owen Brennan opened Brennan's Vieux Carré on Bourbon Street. Fresh out of high school, his sister Ella became his de facto manager there. Just before Owen's untimely death a few years later, plans were in place to move the restaurant to Royal Street, where the Brennan family dynasty truly began. Today, Brennan's Restaurant on Royal Street is grander than ever – all thanks to the loving care of Owen and Ella's nephew, Ralph Brennan. Named one of the 20 most influential restaurant people in the country by Restaurant Business Magazine, Ralph runs some of the city's finest dining destinations. There's Ralph's on the Park, Red Fish Grill, the Napoleon House and Café NOMA, just to name a few. On this week's show, we sit down with Ralph Brennan himself to discuss his life in food. Then, we speak with Braithe Tidwell, the corporate beverage director for the Ralph Brennan Restaurant Group. Braithe helped the wine program at Brennan's regain its status on the Wine Spectator Grand Award-winning list. Most recently, Braithe collaborated with Piper Heidsieck to create a bespoke Brennan's champagne. Next, we learn about Brennan's annual tradition of hosting the "Slowest Second Line on Earth," complete with ten terrific turtles and a rapping judge. Finally, we step inside Brennan's kitchen for an unforgettable breakfast. For their poached eggs alone, the restaurant goes through over half a million eggs each year. Executive Chef Ryan Hacker shows us how his team perfectly poaches hundreds of eggs at a time to feed crowds of hungry morning diners. Slavery in Louisiana - a Visit to Whitney Plantation In today's episode, we learn about slavery in Louisiana. We visit Whitney Plantation, located in Wallace, LA 40 miles West of New Orleans. The Whitney is the only plantation whose primary focus is on the slaves who worked, lived, and died along this stretch of the Mississippi River. My guest today is Joy Banner, Director of Marketing at Whitney. Joy is also a native of the nearby community and is a descendant of the slaves at Whitney. On today's show, you'll learn... About the people who were kidnapped, sold into slavery, and came to work at the Whitney and other plantations along River Road. You'll meet some of the slaves and hear their surprising connections to modern day New Orleanians. You'll gain insight into the conditions they endured, and what plantation life was like for the enslaved. Most plantations along River Road were sugar plantations, so you'll also learn about the process of making granulated sugar on a plantation. “Last words I ever told him was I love him and keep fighting. So that's what I'm gonna live by from now on, just keep fighting, keep going no matter the circumstance but just keep on going.” Jack Bech We try to find the right words to capture the impact and emotion of this episode, but this is one, that when you listen to it, you'll understand how rare and special of a human Jack Bech is and why any NFL team who drafts him, will instantly be better for it. Whether you're an athlete, a dreamer, or someone rebuilding from a loss, this episode is a reminder: the pivot isn't the end — it's where growth begins. Ryan, Channing and Fred visit Lafayette, Louisiana, home of the Bech family and sit with Jack at the place his football career all started, St. Thomas More Catholic High School. Recent tragedy struck his family as his older brother, Tiger, was a victim of the Bourbon Street New Year's Eve attack. Jack opens up on the horrific moments of that night as he reflects on losing his brother who he idolized in every aspect from football to his faith to being his best friend since he was a young boy. In a special moment, he reveals something that he hasn't publicly shared yet about losing his brother and why now is the right time to share, With Jack projected to be a day two pick in the upcoming NFL draft, he shares that NFL teams are getting a two-for-one special as he is no longer just playing for him, but his brother too. As a wide receiver, his football journey has been anything but linear. From LSU to TCU, Jack opens up about the highs, the heartbreaks, and the headspace it takes to bet on yourself when the world starts doubting you. Coming off a dominant final year in college ball, Jack shares how he's turned grief into grit—navigating injuries, transfers, and the pressure of expectations while holding tight to his love for the game. His family's heartbreak is added-fuel towards fulfilling his dream of a long successful NFL career and names a few star wide receivers he admires and models his game after from Cooper Kupp to LSU friends Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and Malik Nabers, taking pieces of their style to craft into his own. Jack is ready for wherever his journey takes him next and his guardian angel will be there to join him in any NFL city he calls home, and if you don't believe him, just watch. The Pivot Family will be rooting for Jack and his family this weekend as his football fate is determined. Don't forget to subscribe and comment below. Learn more about your ad choices. Recorded: April 4th, 2025 On this week's Episode of Bussin' With The Boys, Will Compton and Taylor Lewan have stand-up comedian Mark Normand on the bus! Will and Taylor break down their preview of their favorites for The Masters and whether or not Michael Chandler can take down Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett at UFC 314. Then they kick things off with a full weekend recap—Will has fully adopted Ashton Hall's morning routine, and Taylor’s been on his handy man era, fixing a flood in his basement during a huge storm in Nashville. Certified legend and comedian Mark Normand joins the pod and immediately brings the heat. We’re talkin’ growing up in New Orleans, and one WILD night with a prostitute on Bourbon Street. The convo hits everything—hecklers, getting starstruck in the comedy world, slingin’ whiskey with Sam Morril, and Mark's bromance with Theo Von. The boys even break down his big comedy break, Kill Tony appearances, and what it’s like being married to another comic. (and having a baby boy with her as well!) Oh, and Mark’s a low-key UFC diehard, so you know we had to hit that too. You can catch all the Boy's new merch at BWTB.com! Like, subscribe, rate 5 stars, and as always... Big hugs, tiny kisses.
