2020 has been odd. That's how we've taken to describe it now, because in some cases it hasn't all been bad! We catch up to talk about changes in our lives and we sum up the golfing calendar of 2020. We discuss the new World Handicap System (Spoiler Alert... Josh has gone UP!), the Autumn Masters and a few more probably uninteresting topics... anyway, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We're back after a week break! What a show we have too... I laughed all the way through the edit and a lot of that thanks to the dynamic partnership between our Bomber and Matthew Jones, an ex +2 handicap and former Junior Welsh International. We're proud to take our show down South to Pontypridd this week! During the introduction we touch on some World Changing recent activities where Josh is now a Long Drive winner!!

We're joined this week by Kristian Taylor, a Professional playing out of Formby Golf Club. Picking up the game at 15 years old, he was somewhat of a natural and came down from 4 to +1 in one season!! So yes, plenty of tips for us hackers. During the intro we reflect on Josh's most recent claim that he felt he was ready to win (spoiler alert, he didn't!), and Trist comes to an Earth-shattering realisation that he is in fact s**t at golf! S.O.S Matthew Tottey! To end we have a brief re-cap of the Start from Scratch Championship and we interview the winner.

Very few people are able to naturally recall stories from almost 20 years on the European Tour like Andrew Murray can! We kept him from a family BBQ but it was hard to even feel bad about it as he gripped us with some of the tales of the Tour days. Now a Radio5Live Commentator and Corporate Golf Event expert he is just as busy! In the intro Josh calls out both his co-hosts Trist & Eddie (No idea what he'd been thinking...) and we briefly touch on Rory's comments earlier this week implying that he "isn't as good anymore" hmmm! To end we discuss whether or not we should be allowed to play in a 5-ball when nobody else is around.

With the return of Edward Beardsley we were at full strength once again! We're joined by Matt Fryer, one of the countries most popular YouTube coaches. As with all of our guests, we loved our time with him and Matt went the extra mile for us by joining us for our Weekly Discussion which is 'Which Major would you rather win?'. Josh blasts a host of questions at Matt about content sharing and his golfing exploits during the interview. We re-cap an eventful week for us as hosts during the Bull Bay Golf Club Open Week which saw Trist win a prestigious prize!

This week is a little different to the usual routine as we reached out to Ryan Brooks, Man of the Moment right now! Ryan just shot 56 around his home course Whittington Heath, yes FIFTY SIX! He takes us through the round and you may notice a silence as we re-gather our sanity. We're back with yet another Touring Professional! This time it is Gary Boyd and he gripped us with tales from playing in Open Championships and his first US Open at Pebble Beach of all places. We're somehow managing to get genuine top coaches and swing guru's to come and have a chat with us?! Not sure how, but it's happening. This week we are joined by SolidGolf Instructor and Today's Golfer Magazine coach Adrian Fryer, and his knowledge of all things golf shocks us to be honest. Adrian has so much experience, but I don't think he was quite prepared for meeting our own resident swing guru Joshua Griffiths. To introduce the show Josh talks us through his most recent round of golf... Wow. Wow. Wow. Speechless.

To celebrate our 10th episode we have a fantastic guest who quite literally left us all speechless. We welcome Zach Gould a.k.a Dr Golf on to the show to discuss his glittering amateur career as a young golfer, and his online training platform that will help all golfers get the most of their body and their golf potential. to introduce the show we are treated to recollection of the time Josh lost a match 9&8... Yes, 9&8. Our weekly discussion was based on GOLF.com's Tweet asking followers who they thought would win "on their day" between Tiger and Rory.

We’ve more or less made it... or in our eyes we have. This week we’re joined by European Tour and Ryder Cup star Jamie Donaldson! A fantastic experience just to chat golf with a top pro and top guy. He talks to us about life in lockdown and what’s next for him as he plans his way around the next few Tour dates. In the intro we discuss our decisions to find golf coaches to help us improve! We’re obviously going to need even more help for us to get better, it’s becoming a joke!

This week saw us try us genuinely help people improve - we got Josh to give free golf advice! We share a small treasure that Eddie found in a golf analysis spreadsheet which we'll be using over the next year to compare and analyse parts of our golf against each other. Our scratch golfer this week is Dewi Caughter, a previous Welsh Amateur semi-finalist and County Golf stalwart over the years! We end with a discussion on Tony Jacklin's opinion that Sergio Garcia is the biggest underachiever in world golf... ouch!

How the three of us reached a 7th episode, we will never know! This week Trist & Eddie get to strike back at Josh by analysing his game, it doesn't make for pleasant listening. We interview Marcus Mohr, a Touring Professional of four years who has played two years on the Alps Tour and one year on the Challenge Tour. Despite only starting golf at 15 years old, he's overcome plenty of set-backs and has shown what pure mental strength can do! To close, we ask Josh where he sees similarities between himself and a Touring Pro...

This week we allowed Josh the opportunity to analyse Trist and Eddie's games in detail during the introduction and in typical fashion, he didn't hold back!! Apparently there's work to do. We interview Lee Jones, an Honorary Member and Green Keeper at Conwy Golf Club, who has informative about how we can improve but also open and honest about his decision not to turn professional off a +4 handicap. As usual, we find ourselves disagreeing to end the show - this time about Taylormade's Driving Relief Charity fourball match between Rory, DJ, Ricky and Wolff.

This week was a good week for Start from Scratch as we celebrated 600 downloads! We needed a good guest to mark this occasion so we drafted in Matthew Tottey, winner of over 100 PGA sanctioned events, a Challenge Tour regular and has two appearances on the European Tour under his belt. Tristian quizzes Eddie and Josh with a tailor-made 'how addicted to golf are you?' quiz which listeners can also score themselves on. To end we discuss our favourite players outside of the 'superstars' of the game today.

We're lucky enough to have an hour of JR's time as he imparts his wisdom on us, but more specifically Josh! JR Jones has been a 5 x Welsh Champion, 12 x County Champion and represented his country 85 times. He is now an Elected Member of the R&A and Open Championship referee and shared some brilliant stories of his time walking the fairways with the best players in the game. Me and Eddie go through Josh's bag with him... fascinating! To end this week we ask Josh what he's learned so far, and it goes exactly as expected.

In episode 3 we attempt to reach out to our new followers in France and the US of America! We read a pretty damning review out for Josh who is determined to prove this reviewer wrong...watch this space! Josh wasn't done there either, he proceeds to tell us about a time he lied about his handicap and told a University Golf Team that he played off scratch. We're joined by a scratch golfer and friend of ours for some more great insight on what where we've been going wrong. We also discuss the price of playing golf these days and we welcome all opinions on this matter!

In this episode we discuss Eddie's somewhat strained exchange with Marc Player (son of Gary Player) on Twitter and our 'home golf practice' as we're still in the lock-down. We also chat with Mathew Wharton, a teaching professional who provides us with some insightful tips as well as a brilliant story about the time he blagged his way into following Tiger around Hoylake! We end this week with a brief discussion about whether or not the Ryder Cup should be played without fans.

Here's a preview for our new golf podcast 'Start from Scratch'.
