Happy Wednesday! We open with the ProAm getting underway today at the Memorial Tournament, and Common Man has a problem with Rob Lowe. We talk about the Big Ten and SEC coming together to go against the new government bill. We do Leather Jacket Time with 10TV's Nicole Shearin. Jason Day had a wild outfit on at Muirfield, and Steph Curry signed his own brand deal with a Chinese company. Walker Texas Ranger is taking over Muirfield. Caleb Williams is on the cover of Madden and Man thinks the Bears are dead. And we do Name Dropping with Jeff Rimer.
Will Scottie Scheffler continue to act like Thanos and dominate Jack's Place, or is there a smart way to bet this tournament without him?In this episode of Two Off the Tee, Keith Flemming and Scott Porter break down the 2026 Memorial Tournament at Muirfield Village. The guys dive deep into why post-renovation Muirfield Village has become the second toughest non-major venue on tour, featuring brutal 4-inch rye rough and massive penalties for missed fairways. They debate whether you should anchor your DraftKings and FanDuel DFS lineups with heavy hitters like Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, or pivot to incredible value plays sitting in the mid-to-low $6K and $7K ranges.Timestamps:0:00 - The Memorial Tournament DFS Picks & Best Bets1:09 - Tournament/Venue Preview (Muirfield Village)12:12 - DFS Plays25:31 - Betting CardWhat you'll learn:Why the real betting value this week lies strictly in top 5, top 10, and top 20 wagers instead of traditional outrights. How to approach a unique 70-player field where nearly the entire pool makes the cut, and how that alters your DFS strategy.Which core anchors are absolute locks for your cash game lineups.Under-the-radar longshots and sleepers—including a wild, statistically backed "old man" narrative play.Players Discussed:Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, Sep Straka, Nick Taylor, Sunjae Im, Tony Finau, Tom Hoge, Russell Henley, Cameron Young, Jason Day, Patrick Cantlay, Sam Burns, Alex Fitzpatrick, and Brandt Snedeker."Scottie Scheffler is minus 148 to top five. Like, do you know how insane that is to be minus 148 to top five? It blows my mind." — Scott Porter"Since they've done the renovation... winners have all been heavy favorites who entered the week at 25 to 1 or lower betting odds... I think this is one of those weeks you do not do a lot of outrights." — Keith FlemmingHosts: Keith Flemming and Scott Porter• Save 15% on expert tools and strategy: fantasysixpack.net/plans (Use Code: F6PPODS)

The second golf major championship of the year will tee-off Thursday at Aronimink Golf Club near Philadelphia. In 1962, the PGA Championship was played on this same golf course. Future Hall-of-Famer Gary Player won that year with a 2-under par total. Aronimink Golf Club was designed by the legendary Donald Ross and completed in 1928. The superb layout has been stretched to well over 7,300 yards and will play as a par 70. Though Gary Player’s total of 2-under par total was a reasonable score in his day, don’t be surprised if this year’s winner is at least 15-under par. Today’s vastly improved golf equipment and balls are turning classic layouts such as Aronimink Golf Club into glorified drive, pitch, and putt tournaments. The PGA Championship features a large field of 156 golfers. That total includes 20 PGA club professionals who earned their way into this week’s tournament by finishing in the top 20 at a recent PGA club professional qualifying event. Much like The Masters, past winners of the PGA Championship are allowed to participate in this event for as many years as the golfer desires to compete. This weekend’s weather forecast looks delightful. Abundant sunshine with moderate temperatures in the 70’s will slowly increase into the middle 80’s by Sunday. The benign weather conditions will likely create a Philly birdie festival. The PGA Championship has produced a number of champions who “came out of nowhere” to win their one and only professional major in this event. Of the four golf major events, the PGA Championship has produced a large number of surprise winners in recent decades. Let’s review some of those one-and-done major winners and, later, try to identify a few underdogs to win this year’s PGA Championship. Rich Beem – 2002 – Hazeltine (MN) 10-under par Then: Rich Beem was fortunate just to have a PGA Tour playing card entering 2002. He played well during the opening three rounds and trailed third round leader Justin Leonard by three shots entering Sunday’s final 18 holes. Tiger Woods also charged up the final round leaderboard on Sunday to post a 67 and apply some serious pressure. Rich Beem was able to hang on with a final round 68 to win by one shot over Woods. Now: The 55-year old Rich Beem will not be playing in this week’s PGA Championship. In recent years, Beem has been doing golf commentary for Sky Sports. He has not appeared recently on either the PGA or Champions (Senior) golf tours. Shaun Micheel – 2003 – Oak Hill (NY) 3-under par Then: You may remember that Shaun Micheel hit the 7-iron of his lifetime on the 72nd hole at Oak Hill in Rochester, NY in 2003 to win the 27-pound Wanamaker trophy. That was Micheel’s lone PGA Tour victory during a lengthy professional career. He would often finish in the top ten, though. Shaun Micheel recently admitted that he struggled for many years by putting too much pressure on himself to perform well on the golf course. Micheel lamented, “I played every shot like it was life or death.” Now: The 57-year old Shaun Micheel plays in a few PGA Champions Tour events each season. As a past PGA Championship winner, he will be in Philadelphia and plans to tee-it up on Thursday. Y. E. Yang – 2009 – Hazeltine (MN) 8-under par Then: South Korean Y. E. Yang’s victory at the 2009 PGA Championship was memorable for two big reasons. He became the first Asian-born golfer to win a major men’s golf championship. Yang also gained worldwide notoriety by rallying in the final round to win by three shots over a highly-favored golfer named Tiger Woods. Now: The 54-year old Y. E. Yang remains active in professional golf. He just finished in 14th place at last weekend’s PGA Champions Tour event in The Woodlands, Texas. He has posted seven top 25 finishes this season on the senior tour. Yang, like Shaun Micheel, will be playing in this week’s PGA Championship field on Thursday. Y.E. Yang will be trying to make his first cut at the PGA Championship since the year 2015. Jason Dufner – 2013 – Oak Hill (NY) 10-under par Then: Former Auburn University college golfer Jason Dufner had already won twice on the men’s tour coming into the 2013 PGA Championship in Rochester, New York. The laid-back Dufner grabbed a two shot lead over Jim Furyk entering the final nine holes in Sunday’s final round. That duo battled back and forth over the closing holes. Dufner held on to claim the only major championship of his career. Now: The 49-year old Jason Dufner has won five times on the PGA Tour. This year, he has played in only three PGA Tour events (missing the cut each time) prior to this week’s PGA Championship. You may remember that Jason Dufner gained a different type of national notoriety during the spring of 2013. At a Dallas-area PGA publicity event, Dufner appeared before a group of elementary school children. While the teacher was busy talking (and talking), Dufner was photographed sitting on the floor alongside some of the kids. He appeared in the picture to be slumped over in a rather relaxed, sleepy posture. The term “Dufnering” was born. “Dufnering” became even more popular among golfers a few months later after the ultra laid-back Jason Dufner won the 2013 PGA Championship. Jimmy Walker – 2016 – Baltusrol (NJ) – 14-under par Then: Jimmy Walker took the lead at the 2016 PGA Championship with a blistering five-under par 65 in Round 1. He would play well in each day of the tournament. Walker posted a wire-to-wire victory and held off a fast-closing Jason Day. It was Jimmy Walker’s first and only major championship title. It was also his last win on the PGA Tour through this week. Now: At age 47, Jimmy Walker is no longer playing regularly on the PGA Tour. After his 2016 win at the PGA Championship, Walker went hunting with some friends. Upon returning home, his health began to deteriorate. Jimmy Walker told a reporter that he had contracted Lyme disease (generally transmitted by ticks). His recovery was extremely difficult and very slow. Walker’s return to professional golf was hampered by newfound difficulties with his chipping and putting games. Nevertheless, Jimmy Walker is expected to be in the field on Thursday at Aronimink Golf Club. Could there be another underdog winner at this week’s 2026 PGA Championship? Absolutely! Here are four golfers seeking their first major title and not receiving a lot of pre-tournament love from the media pundits this week. I will also provide a fifth undervalued golfer looking to break into the winner’s column again this week with the 2026 PGA Championship title. Sam Burns – The former Shreveport resident is one of the tour’s finest putters. If Sam Burns can keep the ball in play off the tee this week, he is quite capable of shooting some very low scores and winning his first major. Thomas Detry – This 33-year old Belgian golfer plays on the LIV Golf Tour. He just posted a solid sixth place finish last weekend. That golf course in northern Virginia is very similar to this week’s layout at Aronimink. Anthony Kim – Another LIV golfer who is coming off a hot finish last weekend in Virginia. Kim shot a closing round of 10-under par 62 to post another top ten finish. Brandt Snedeker – The 45-year old just won in Myrtle Beach last weekend for his first PGA win in nearly eight years. When you’re hot, you’re hot, right? Jordan Spieth – OK, I admit it. I would LOVE to see Jordan Spieth find a way to win this weekend. He hasn’t won a PGA Tour event since 2022. More importantly, Spieth would finally complete golf’s career Grand Slam (The Masters, US Open, The (British) Open, and, finally, the PGA Championship) with a victory on Sunday afternoon. Enjoy this weekend’s PGA Championship! The post PGA Championship Preview – Watch out for Underdogs! appeared first on SwampSwamiSports.com.

Munaf Manji and Dave Essler talk betting for Tuesday Michigan is a national champion, Uncle Diamond Dave Esler cashed a 5-to-1 futures ticket, and there are still three MLB games, two NBA matchups, and a Masters first-round leader portfolio to get through before the week really starts. That is the agenda on this Tuesday, April 7th edition of Cash That Ticket on the Straight Outta Vegas AM feed, hosted by Munaf Manji alongside Dave Esler. The show opens with a full championship recap of Michigan's 69-63 victory over UConn, breaking down how the Wolverines won despite shooting just 38 percent from the floor and going 2-of-15 from three-point range, leaning instead on a 25-of-28 free throw performance and a 36-22 edge in points in the paint. The guys walk through the sharp money signals on the spread, why the total was never going to go over once the pace was established, and why UConn fans have no real basis for their free throw complaints given how the Huskies are built offensively. On the MLB side, Munaf and Dave break down three Tuesday games starting with the Dodgers and Blue Jays in Toronto for Game 2, where Yoshinobu Yamamoto faces Kevin Gausman in what projects as a low-scoring first-five-innings battle worth playing both from the under and the Toronto run line. Dave makes the case for Gausman's historically dominant start to 2026 as genuine value against the Dodgers price, flagging Max Muncy as the one hitter with the résumé to hurt him, and declines to lay the full-game number on Los Angeles given continued bullpen concerns. The second game sends the Mariners to Arlington, where George Kirby carries a jaw-dropping career record against the Rangers into a matchup against Nathan Eovaldi, who has allowed 11 earned runs in fewer than nine innings this season. Munaf names Kirby and Seattle at minus-120 as his official best bet of the episode. The third game features Cristopher Sánchez and the Phillies visiting Oracle Park against Robbie Ray and a Giants team that has gone 1-and-7 since opening weekend, with Dave pointing to the first-five Phillies run line and the under as his preferred structure in a pitcher-friendly park. The NBA card covers Boston hosting Charlotte in a game that means considerably more to the Hornets, who are scrapping for seeding in a tight play-in race, while the Celtics essentially mark time before a more consequential Thursday matchup with New York. Both hosts like the under, backed by back-to-back regular-season meetings that stayed well beneath their respective totals and top-ten defensive ratings from both clubs over the last ten games. The late game puts a streaking but arguably fraudulent Rockets road run to its toughest test yet in Phoenix, where the Suns are a strong home team and both Dylan Brooks and Jalen Green will be facing former employers with something to prove. Dave takes Phoenix, and Munaf agrees. To close, Dave delivers the week's first Masters betting segment with first-round leader plays for Thursday's opening round at Augusta National, building a plus-money portfolio anchored by Bryson DeChambeau and Scottie Scheffler as proven top-five finishers in round one, Adam Scott at an eye-opening 50-to-1 given his current form on approach shots and first-round scoring, Chris Gotterup at 39-to-1 in his Augusta debut, and Jason Day at plus-475 to finish in the top ten after round one, a number Dave considers well below fair value given Day's documented history at this course. Dave's official best bet for Tuesday is the Yankees to win the first five innings against Oakland on the run line at minus-140 with Cam Schlittler dominating a lineup that has never faced him. It's Masters week and today Nick O'Hern and Mark Allen preview the tournament. You'd think we'd start off by chatting golf, but no, Mark brings a fun fact about trees (albeit Augusta trees) to the table, and Nick counters with another 'tree trivia' item. But after we get 'tree chat' out of the way, it's onto the real stuff. Nick and Mark discuss the Aussies and Kiwi, and what their chances are. Nick likes Min Woo the best of the Aussie and Kiwi players, Mark feels Adam Scott is in a purple patch and is the most likely of them. Each give their reasons. What about Jason Day, can he win even with a toned down outfit on? And Cam Smith? The boys are not confident. Does Ryan Fox have the game to compete at Augusta? We discuss. Then onto the power rankings, and we look at the big US and international players from 1-12-ish, deliberately skipping over one player who neither Nick or Mark enjoy watching. Nick wonders if, with the monkey off his back, Rory might go crazy this weekend, and we discuss how Scheffler might play with a new baby having just arrived. Mark is red hot for one particular player, saying he believes in 'magic' at Augusta, and this player winning would be that. Then we construct our Betr multi...and there is trouble in paradise. Nick and Mark agree on two of the legs, however have a disagreement on the third....so we 'rock paper scissors' it to see which we'll go with. After the turn, an Augusta weather update from Nick 'meteorologist' O'Hern, then we hear back from Hummer on the pricing for the multi....it's pretty good! And Mark reckons we're on a roll so it's a good one to get on board. Mark might be whacking some mayo on what defines 'on a roll', given we won our last one, and we're hardly stringing multiple wins together, but hey, let's go with it.Get on board at the Betr website here, or on the app - search Betr specials and you'll find the Talk Birdie To Me multi there. We're live from Titleist and FootJoy HQ thanks to our great partners:Hostplus, Talk Birdie To Me's official retirement partnerBMW, luxury and comfort for the 19th hole;Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf;PING will help you play your best;Golf Clearance Outlet, they beat everyone's prices;Betr, the fastest and easiest betting app in Australia; And Southern Golf Club. What do you get when a pain-riddled amateur golfer goes down every rabbit hole imaginable — coaching, biomechanics, club grinding, and manufacturing — and ends up accidentally building one of the most disruptive equipment brands in the game? You get Tom Bailey and Avoda Golf.Tom joined us for a wide-ranging conversation about how a bench grinder, a brother with an e-commerce background, and a frustrated Bryson DeChambeau turned a 50-set goal into one of golf's fastest-growing club companies. We get deep into the science behind what Avoda actually does differently — lie angle as the single most important spec in your bag, why combo-length irons make more sense than you think, how the right grip size is just like wearing the right shoe, and the curve-face technology that had Bryson saying "I've never seen a club do that." We also get into Tom's current work with Jason Day and his coach Colin Swatton, and the remarkable story of how the right sole grind fixed in a week what they'd been working on for years. In this episodeWhy lie angle trumps everything elseCombo length vs same length ironsThe Bryson DeChambeau storyJason Day's wedge revelationCurve face tech explainedThe precision fitting system for coaches"We know the golf club is not just a thing that you buy and use for a year. Will Doctor gives you the sharpest card for the John Deere Classic. -Reviewing Detroit -Discussing top 8 favs on odds board -2 matchups -2 t20's -3 outrights (33/1, 80/1, 80/1) -Sleeper, 3 FRP -2 lineups, scoring, best bet Will Doctor opens his podcast with enthusiasm over Aldrich Potgieter's dramatic win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. At just 20 years old, Potgieter emerged victorious in a five-hole playoff against Max Gray Sherman and Chris Kirk. Doctor notes he had picked Potgieter pre-tournament at 125-1 odds, resulting in a monumental gain of 125.8 units that flipped his season from -72.9 to +52.8 units. Potgieter's rounds of 62-70-65-69 highlighted both brilliance and resilience, especially his Saturday bogey-free 65 that earned him a two-shot lead. Despite criticism that most birdies came on the front nine, Doctor praises his short game, particularly ranking fifth in strokes gained around the greens in round three and gaining over a stroke total in that category. Chris Kirk, a six-time PGA Tour winner, had a promising start with back-to-back 65s. Despite dealing with recent game struggles and nearly withdrawing from the U.S. Open, he performed well and missed chances to win with two putts inside 16 feet on 18, in both regulation and the playoff. Max Gray Sherman impressed with birdies on two of his final three holes to make the playoff, including a 35-foot birdie on 16. Though he missed several putts in the playoff, Sherman's calm demeanor and improved ball striking stood out, crediting his caddy Adam Barmer. Doctor sees Sherman as a strong future contender. Doctor critiques Twitter pundits who downplayed Potgieter's Saturday round and emphasizes the significance of the playoff diversity: a 20-year-old, 30-year-old, and 40-year-old competing. He applauds CBS's emotional broadcast moments, such as shots of the players' fathers during the finale. Other notable performances included Will Gordon saving his PGA Tour card, Monday qualifier Brett White making the cut, and rising stars like Michael Thorbjornsen and Jackson Suber getting in the mix. He recaps bets: Potgieter's win was the headline; Champ and Sherman top-20 picks also cashed. Picks that failed included Stephen Jaeger, who struggled with his worst driving week in 25 starts, and Lee Hodges, who fell from contention with a poor third round. As he pivots to the John Deere Classic, Doctor emphasizes traits needed at TPC Deer Run—bombers off the tee, sharp wedge play inside 125 yards, and strong putting on bentgrass. He notes the course has the ninth-widest fairways on Tour, making driving accuracy less critical but not to be ignored. He analyzes top players: passes on Ben Griffin due to fatigue, but likes Jason Day for a top-10 finish citing strong approach stats from 125-150 yards. He dismisses Denny McCarthy at 28-1 due to recurring poor third rounds, weak approach metrics, and no PGA wins. JT Poston is faded for weak iron stats despite being a past Deere champion. Si Woo Kim is heavily criticized—missed cuts, poor putting, and negative recent stats. Doctor proposes betting Jason Day over Si Woo Kim and two other Kim fade matchups. Doctor's top pick is Michael Thorbjornsen at 33-1, citing elite driving (2nd on tour), strong recent finishes, and solid putting. Thriston Lawrence is his second outright at 80-1, noting improved ball striking and three top finishes in recent events, including T12 at Oakmont. Cam Champ, also at 80-1, rounds out the outrights. Champ has been positive in all stat categories the last two weeks and historically played well at Deer Run. Other bets include Jackson Koivun over Quade Cummins, Jason Day top 10 (+225), Champ top 20 (+320), and Thorbjornsen top 20 (+137) as the best bet. Doctor offers three first-round top-10 picks: Thorbjornsen, Pearson Cootie, and Champ. He concludes with two DFS lineups and predicts the winning score at -23. Sheriff's Deputy Sam Burns has the solo lead after 54 holes at the 2025 U.S. Open! Andy and Brendan made it back from Muddy-mont and recapped a Saturday filled with slips and slides on and off the course. They talk Adam Scott turning back the clock and contending at his 24th U.S. Open, J.J. Spaun's inability to go away, and a loitering Viktor Hovland despite struggles off-the-tee. Scottie Scheffler is deemed "too far back" to win the title after 72 holes, but Cameron Young is a potential dark-horse contender following his best iron play of the year. Rory spoke to the media about speaking to the media, opening a discussion on his week as a whole. Finally, Jason Day shared he roots for half of the AFC North and an ad read sends things off the rails heading into Sunday.
