This very special episode is the final episode from the Conquest of Bliss for the foreseeable future. I want to thank my editor, Kaldy, and Jayc, who volunteered behind the scenes, even for a brief time, and everybody else who made the show possible, or who made it as moderately successful as it became. This may be a tough one to listen to if crying makes you uncomfy. If you liked the show, please, feel free to leave a review on your favourite listening app. The feed will stay up so you can listen as many times as you want, and maybe, if I am lucky, I will get to come back to this work. But if that is the case, it'll definitely be a reboot, or something other show-bizzy term. TW: brief mention of suicide, definitely a lot of tears. This episode, like many, was brought to you by the After Dark BandWarning: This Podcast contains explicit language (probably), and casual conversation about what very well might be triggering topics (also probably). TW: Discussion of religion and religious trauma The host of the Harkening Deer Podcast, Sean J Stevens, joins Kara as together they unpack some of the challenges they've had and lessons they've learned in their individual faith journeys. Sean's podcast is a Christian meditation podcast, something that sounds incredibly counterintuitive to most.  Join us for this episode as they reveal glimpses of their journeys, important lessons they have learned, and the incredible value they have found in deconstructing their faith. Sean has so much wisdom and value to add to the world, and if you are a Christian who has felt frustrated with legalism in your local church, this episode, and Sean's work in general, may be a good place to start your own deconstruction journey. *It should be noted that for Kara, her faith journey is deeply personal and ever changing. There is not really one label that fits her well, but she felt she would be remiss to dismiss the impact Christianity has had on shaping her faith and the way she interacts with the world. This episode is not meant to be taken as advocating for or against particular religious views, only a conversation between two friends about where their journey's have led them so far. Evan is a musician, host, and advocate for substance education over prohibition. In the conversation, we dive into the many reasons that the current system isn't working, and onto how the mindset that goes along with the current system can be as debilitating as the system itself.  *This episode is a bit different than the usual, but it is on a subject that is close to my heart. To be super clear, I am not pro-drugs, just anti-prohibition. I would love to see the view on drugs shift from one of evil to something similar to the approach we take on a lot of tools: If used appropriately and carefully with proper education, they can be extremely helpful. When used without care, or misused, they can cause catastrophic damage and lingering problems like addiction and death.* To hear more from Evan, you can find him here: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6qMzDcnAynK0dBot12HRb4?si=O7CufupJRR6JVZ27AtJm7w LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/evan-explosion-10508512b Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EvansExplosion If you would like to support to the Conquest of Bliss, check out our Patreon, our Buy me a coffee page, or rate, review, comment or share. I had the privilege of connecting with the host of spiritual podcast Ask PK. I had so much fun as PK and I explored spirituality, protecting ourselves, and she let me in on a bit of her journey from Senior Pastor to Christian Spiritualist. She has so much love and passion in her heart, and does an excellent job explaining complicated spiritual topics in a way I found to be easily digestible and understood. The start of a blossoming friendship, I feel and felt so lucky to have had the honour of talking to her and learning more about our interconnectedness and intuitive natures. The awesome Matthew Schwartz joined me for this episode and it was not only fun, but it touched on a topic we haven't covered much here on the conquest of bliss, impermanence, and how it can be as much an asset as a loss. We also talked a lot about his own personal journey, how he feels about where he is at now, and how his music has made a great impact on him. I had a listen to some of his music and I really dig it, and I bet you will too! I have been wanting to do an update on me and where I am at for a while, but to be honest I was feeling dubious about it. When I realized that the anniversary for the Conquest of Bliss was coming up, I decided that it was the time to do another solo episode. It has been a minute. I don't know if I can say that the episode is insightful or special in any way, except that I am excited to have been doing this for a whole year, and its special for me because I struggled so much with motivating myself to make this episode, so I must have needed to, ya know? I don't know. Have a listen if you are curious about where I have been at or how I am doing, behind the interviews and conversations. I want to take a moment to give very special thanks to Kaldy, with Kabby Productions (and https://www.panduentertainment.com/). Without his efforts, this podcast wouldn't be near what it is today! And also thanks to all my patrons and supporters in myriad ways, as well as the guests who have taken time to help me provide content for our listeners. This has been nothing if not a massive joint effort. It really means a lot to me! Y'all are the best!

Patrick Lawson, London's Happiest Bus Driver (By popular vote) and my new friend, graciously joined me for this episode! Patrick is the kind of guy whose positive energy radiates and brings joy to whoever he is talking to. He shared some of his fascinating journey, and some of the many things he learned along the way. IF you are having a bit of a down day (and even if you're not), I highly recommend listening to this episode. I am so grateful that I got to spend this time talking to him! Author and Stay at Home Mom, Sammie Glover joined me for today's episode. The focus was predominantly on finding time for self care as a stay at home mom, and the importance of it. We also talked a bit on an incredible trick she uses to safely explore the darker side of her mind. I enjoyed, so much, chatting with Sammie, and hope the listeners find her perspective and insights as valuable as I do!    If you would like to contribute to the Conquest of Bliss, check out our patreon at patreon.com/theconquestofbliss Warning: This Podcast contains explicit language (probably), and casual conversation about what very well might be triggering topics (also probably).
