Alex and Evelyn discuss the new Executive Order on AI, content moderation in the stack putting pressure on Telegram, the one year anniversary of Elon Musk buying Twitter, and a multi-state lawsuit against Meta for misleading young users about the addictive and harmful properties of its platform.
Stanford's Evelyn Douek and Alex Stamos weigh in on the latest online trust and safety news and developments:President Joe Biden signed an Executive Order on Safe, Secure, and Trustworthy Artificial Intelligence today. The sweeping EO includes standards setting for generative AI watermarking and red teaming. It will also set rules to mitigate privacy and bias risks before AI systems can be used by federal officials. - Maria Curi, Ashley Gold/ Axios, Mohar Chatterjee, Rebecca Kern/ Politico, Mohar Chatterjee/ Politico, John D. McKinnon, Sabrina Siddiqui, Dustin Volz/ The Wall Street Journal, Cat Zakrzewski, Cristiano Lima/ The Washington PostThe EO is a good step forward, but the measures are limited in power without congressional action.App store rules are restricting access to some Hamas-affiliated channels on Telegram where content moderation action is rare, allowing terrorist organizations to share messaging. The restrictions are inconsistent, with some channels only blocked on the Google Play store app in some cases. - Clare Duffy, Brian Fung/ CNN, Kevin Collier/ NBC News, Wes Davis/ The VergeIt's another reminder of the power of content moderation rules in the stack — at the infrastructure or distributor level, like app stores.X-Twitter CornerIt's been one year since Elon Musk flipped the bird (and struggled to carry a sink into Twitter's San Francisco headquarters). Our original episode on this, “Musk Flips the Bird,” held up pretty well — especially the prediction that this would be very good news for Mark Zuckerberg.Legal CornerIt's not all good news for Zuck though. The state attorneys general of 41 states and D.C. sued Meta, alleging Instagram and Facebook harm kids with addictive features and privacy violations. - Barbara Ortutay/ Associated Press, Lauren Feiner/ CNBC, Rebecca Kern/ Politico, Cecilia Kang, Natasha Singer/ The New York Times, Cristiano Lima, Naomi Nix/ The Washington Post, Daphne Keller/ @daphnehkThis is a relatively novel legal argument, and it appears to be an uphill battle to sue for design harms and not content. Still, the alleged privacy violations could hold up and the political posturing alone may prove to be a winner in the multi-pronged legal, policy, and regulatory battle. The king got involved and we can't ignore the UK Online Safety Bill Act anymore. The legislation received royal assent, becoming law last week. - Imran Rahman-Jones, Chris Vallance/ BBC News, Jon Porter/ The Verge, Peter Guest/ WiredAlex and Stanford Internet Observatory graduate researcher Sara Shah published a guide on trust and safety issues in the Fediverse with tips for running a Mastodon instance.Join the conversation and connect with Evelyn and Alex on Twitter at @evelyndouek and @alexstamos.Moderated Content is produced in partnership by Stanford Law School and the Cyber Policy Center. **WARNING** This Podcast features audio that some listeners might find disturbing. The audio is about 22 seconds in length at the very beginning of the episode. If you wish to skip it fast forward until around 23 seconds in. At 2:28 am on the morning of September 7th, 2015, Kareen McCabe received a phone call that would completely change her life forever. On the other line her husband, Henry McCabe is screaming out, he screams he has been shot, he is writhing in pain. Words turn to noises, growls and gurgles. It is the last anyone would hear from Henry McCabe, he would be found, weeks later, face down in a nearby lake. But what truly happened to Henry McCabe is still a mystery- how did he end up in the lake? How did Henry die? And possibly the most puzzling question of all- what was happening in that phone call? Warning : This Podcast is explicit, unedited, and very raw. Language and topics are discussed throughout that may be upsetting to some audiences, but in the search for truth, we believe that difficult dialogue is necessary. We need to work towards solutions or ideas that can have a positive impact on the future, and often times, this comes from openly speaking, without fear, and breaking down the differing opinions, ideologies, and patterns of thinking. Powerful & Controversial dialogue between two friends, Sean Rowe & James Gray.

On this episode the guys tell you all kinds of misinformation so be prepared and take notes. Also, is the NFL really racist? It seems like the league that has made more millionaires of black athletes than anything else in the world would actually be the exact opposite of racist. Give the show a listen and see if the rabbit trail brings you back to the beginning or if the guys left you abandoned somewhere alone with Nancy Pelosi, Bill O'Brien, and a flower man. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/david-oglesby5/support

[caption id="" align="alignleft" width="252"] Eyal Matsliah, and I'm the author of ‘Orgasm Unleashed – your guide to pleasure healing and power’. I’ve been exploring and studying sexuality, business and spirituality all my life and I've helped thousands of people with these issues.[/caption] Caution and Warning- This Podcast is a departure from the norm, This a real true and RAW podcast it is a discussion about SEX. Eyal Matsliah, is a straight forward dude, especially about sex, intimacy and personal control about the human sexual experience. He has taken the time to understand and gain wisdom about sex and relationships. Some topics we discussed Male sexuality, masculinity and ejaculation control How sexual empowerment transforms your business and life Relating with women in and out of the bedroom Open relationships joys and horrors Sex is the most prevalent topic in our daily lives. The driving force behind many of the emotions. We are far more free sexually than any point in modern recorded history. Sexual repression is still at the forefront of our society. During the podcast my guest Eyal Matsliah My guest on the Billionaire Lifestyle podcast, Eyal Matsliah has studied the art of sex and sexuality. His goal is to help individuals build their sexual confidence, and intelligence for themselves and for their chosen partners. Men have a great deal of sexual energy but don't know how to manipulate, control and totally enjoy the experience to the fullest. Sex is more than just a physical act. Sex is bonding intimacy, spiritual awareness, and serves many purposes. To truly enjoy the preferred acts of sex, pleasure, and benefits of healthy sex requires education. Sex is not a given. Just as we learned to walk, talk and interact with the world, the act of good sex requires study of self and potential mates Women Personally, I have witnessed the movement of women's independence in the united states and the strides across the world regarding women's issues. Sex still seems to be taboo in much of the world and even in societies where minds are open to sexual freedom, there still seems to be a great deal of misunderstanding. Women are extremely complex individuals when compared to men. Women (IMHO) have a deeper connection to their partners emotionally and seem far more emotionally intelligent that their historical gender counterparts (men). There are complexities for men to understand regarding their female partners. Some women respond to internal physical stimulation( vaginal), versus others who find far more pleasure externally (Clitoral). Your female partner is a complex physical and emotional being, requiring serious communication to find a serious connection. [caption id="attachment_1373" align="aligncenter" width="300"] Couple Intimacy[/caption] Communication with your female partner I am no expert and understand my own ignorance, but I have come to understand there is more to a really good sexual connection with a female partner. It may not be as simple as asking what your partner preferred. She many not have yet discovered what sets her free sexually. As partners of women, particularly after the 18-24 month magic has faded, require investment in your female partner's sexual happiness. [caption id="attachment_1374" align="aligncenter" width="314"] Explore and learn you sexual happy place.[/caption] Men Many men and women get the birds and the bees lecture from someone in their family (I think), but by the time children in the digital age reach 5th grade and have access to the internet, exposure to sexual content has been made. Due to wide internet accessibility, just by happenstance, a child can see acts of sex without their parents or guardian ever knowing. Particularly for young boys. Male Sex Education Males, especially young males in our modern culture have few roles models and mentors steering them in healthy sexual directions. The internet and easy accessibility to pornography have given rise to the twisting of sex understanding in our culture. Even if a young man has a mentor, there is so much information producing counter opinions received from good mentorship. The messages placed before many men through media push power, control and ejaculation and the goal of sex. Sex is so much more than physical. Twisted Communication Sexual Repression. There is a need to truly open the dialog and understand and respect our sexuality. We may need a different approach to sexuality and our own understanding. People have so much baggage related to sexuality and understanding. We have lived in a sexually repressed culture globally for reasons of power and control, be it religion or culture, sex has been used as a control mechanism since the beginning of time. Considering all the technological advances we have made in the last 100 years, we fall on the side of emotional sexual morons overall. Please listen to the podcast. it was Racy, though provoking and informing. On today's episode of the Rough Drafts Podcast, Chase "RedShirtKing" Wassenar and Walter "Ceades" Fedczuk briefly discuss the upcoming IEM Gyeonggi event before getting sucked into the vortex of League of Legends roster news. Together, they discuss whether Giants Gaming are a solid dark horse candidate, the baffling decision of Team Liquid to bring Piglet back, and which Korean teams have poised themselves for an assuredly grueling offseason. Warning: This Podcast was recorded on December 12, before several roster moves were made. Quick hits: KaKAO to Misfits (pessimistic, but we'll see), ReignOver, Piglet, and Olleh to Immortals(called it), Ssumday and Chaser to Dignitas (finally official), Nuclear and Chei to H2k-Gaming (great ADC; unsure about the support) and Locodoco as a challenger head coach (LOL). Live from "on swap meet" (you'll understand later), it's our first episode in almost ten months! What have we been up to? Oh, it doesn't matter because today we're reading CREEPY PASTAS!! Prepare for your brain cells to be obliterated as we tear through the most haunted of video game horror stories and fail to maintain a serious composure while doing so. Bear with us and the somewhat choppy editing on this episode. We were tweaking the format a bit, but things will be back to normal next time. Credit to creepypasta.wikia.com for all the GREAT pieces of literature, as well as the fantastic musicians featured throughout this episode. See if you can figure out which track was composed by Dallas himself!

We finish by going through a couple of silly warning signs.
Monday, December 17th 2007Hosting troubles have created some minor distribution problems for my humble podcast. You would have received an excellent, 37 minute addition to the library of Kick, if it weren't for my low budget hosting. So I rant about that. I also rant about internet trolls and rave about my favorite(favourite?) band ever: Major Majormajormajor.co.uk myspace.com/majormajorbandkickpodcast.blogspot.comjeffmurdoch.blogspot.com

This is the Original Intro to the Podcast, the first recording done for the show. It's certainly an interesting throwback to my original intentions for the show! This week I got a chance to talk to the wonderful Rob Richards! Rob has a wealth of knowledge and experience around yoga, spirituality, and growing through our suffering. The conversation was mostly about yoga, and a little about life in general. I can't wait for the next opportunity to chat with Rob and hear what wisdom he has to share! Your host, Kara Fernstrom, interviews a man with Anti Social Personality Disorder, to talk how he interacts with happiness. ASPD is a particularly interesting disorder, one that is deeply associated with the somewhat ambiguous concept of psychopathy. Ben (fake name) speaks on his diagnosis, what it feels like to be different, and why psychopathy gets such a bad rap. He describes his ideal life, how he views relationships, and what he is really thinking when he watches people get so wrapped up in interpersonal issues. This interview will answer questions you didn't know you had. As might be expected, there are moments where the conversation feels a bit weird, since it is between someone who feels with all of themselves, and someone who feels unencumbered by emotion. Every once in a while I like to do an update on me, and how I am doing. This was a bit of surprise decision, so the editing was done by me, last minute. Kaldy is a magical human being who covers a multitude of sins, so please have some grace if the sound quality isn't the best. In this short episode you get a little update on how things have been for me, dealing with chronic pain and grief, and hopefully you find some comfort in knowing you are not alone, or some of the tools I briefly mention to be useful. TW: Discussion of religion and religious trauma The host of the Harkening Deer Podcast, Sean J Stevens, joins Kara as together they unpack some of the challenges they've had and lessons they've learned in their individual faith journeys. Sean's podcast is a Christian meditation podcast, something that sounds incredibly counterintuitive to most. Join us for this episode as they reveal glimpses of their journeys, important lessons they have learned, and the incredible value they have found in deconstructing their faith. Sean has so much wisdom and value to add to the world, and if you are a Christian who has felt frustrated with legalism in your local church, this episode, and Sean's work in general, may be a good place to start your own deconstruction journey. *It should be noted that for Kara, her faith journey is deeply personal and ever changing. There is not really one label that fits her well, but she felt she would be remiss to dismiss the impact Christianity has had on shaping her faith and the way she interacts with the world. This episode is not meant to be taken as advocating for or against particular religious views, only a conversation between two friends about where their journey's have led them so far. Your host, Kara Fernstrom, was joined by Joshua Scott Hotchkins for this weeks episode. The conversation covers both individual and systemic health, why and what we can learn from history (and when it may be time to ignore that data), and got to know a little more about Joshua's stance and understanding of the world. This episode is well worth the listen! Author and adolescent addictions counselor, Richard Capriola, joins your host, Kara Fernstrom for this weeks episode. This important discussion covers topics like how to recognize addiction in children and youths, understanding the differences between adult drug use, and adolescent drug abuse, and how and when to start seeking help. Ricks's book has been appreciated by psychologists and addictions counselors all over the place and the discussion highlights his compassion and thorough understanding of the topic he dedicated his life to. Your host, Kara Fernstrom, is once again joined by man about town Raymond Lorman. You can feel the comfortability that comes from decades long friendship as they discuss a whole bunch of stuff. Jo runs incredible women circle's and made some time to talk to me not once, but twice! The first time, unfortunately, the connection issues made the audio unusable. We chat about women, men, and how we all need healing through self love and compassion, and some understanding of the spectrum of feminine and masculine traits we all possess! Please check out Jo at westcoastsoul16.ca or follow her on Facebook at facebook.com/westcoastsoul16 Also, don't forget to, if you are into it, look into the book The Red Tent by Anita Diamont! The podcasting power couple, and friends of The Conquest of Bliss, Elizabeth and Omar Williams join us for this incredible episode. In a beautiful display of vulnerability, they unpack some of the challenges of long term relationships (especially one with 4 beautiful children), and the sweetness that is knowing that your partner is choosing you every day. We touched on their journey away from organized faith, and toward their own callings and values. This episode is about an hour long, and worth the listen! In fact, they are worth listening to regularly! They do many podcasts! I am going to link their Apple Podcast links, if you prefer another listening app, their names are very searchable! Paul Krismer, of The Happiness Experts, joined me for this incredible episode! He gives tangible tips and easy to understand tools on bringing more happiness into our lives. The Conquest of Bliss was live! There was a slight hiccup with the release schedule today so I took the opportunity to go live, since I didn't have a guest. I talked about how we can peacefully coexist with those who do not think like us, as per a question a friend had. I also talk a little about the Conquest of Fun, a live show that I will be streaming on Facebook to give away merch and make people answer random questions. Very stoked. Check it out! Evan's Explosion joined me for this episode to unpack why we both think that proper education is a better approach than prohibition for managing addiction issues. Evan is a musician, host, and advocate for substance education over prohibition. In the conversation, we dive into the many reasons that the current system isn't working, and onto how the mindset that goes along with the current system can be as debilitating as the system itself. *This episode is a bit different than the usual, but it is on a subject that is close to my heart. To be super clear, I am not pro-drugs, just anti-prohibition. I would love to see the view on drugs shift from one of evil to something similar to the approach we take on a lot of tools: If used appropriately and carefully with proper education, they can be extremely helpful. When used without care, or misused, they can cause catastrophic damage and lingering problems like addiction and death.* To hear more from Evan, you can find him here: Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/artist/6qMzDcnAynK0dBot12HRb4?si=O7CufupJRR6JVZ27AtJm7w LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/evan-explosion-10508512b Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/EvansExplosion If you would like to support to the Conquest of Bliss, check out our Patreon, our Buy me a coffee page, or rate, review, comment or share. I am so honoured that Dr. John not only joined me for this episode, where we briefly covered a wide array of topics, and that has agreed to come back and cover some topics more in depth, based on the specific interests of my listeners! Leave a comment or let me know what topics come up that you want to hear more of, so that we can cover them in depth in our next conversation! Dr. Yohan John is a computational neuroscientist who has a passion for making interesting, and often complicated, information accessible to people. This passion is evident in his kind, well spoken mannerisms, and his efficient use of metaphor. We briefly covered a wide variety of topics, including what we know about how belief works, our lack of awareness to many brain functions, the filters through which we see and process the world, metaphor, and more still. We weren't able to get as deeply into topics as either of us would have liked (because I had so many questions and only so much time, my bad), but it gives us the opportunity to find out what would be most useful or interesting for you! Fictional horror podcaster Shawn Moreau joins your host, Kara Fernstrom, for a discussion about addiction. Shawn generously shares his own story with addiction, including an insanely wholesome anecdote about Stan Lee, before both dive into some of their more nuanced thoughts on the complicated subject of addiction - and leaving it behind. While both Kara and Shawn have experiences with managing addiction, what we share in this episode are opinions and experiential. If you or a loved one are dealing with addiction, please seek structured resources that can help in your area.
