We plan meetings. We plan vacations. We plan weekends. But most people never plan their LIFE.In this conversation, I sit down with the woman behind some of @jesseitzler4 's wildest ideas to talk about the tool that fundamentally changes how you see your goals—and what you're willing to do to reach them.Taylor Prokes is the co-founder of Big Ass Calendar and the strategic mind behind years of ambitious, unconventional projects. In this interview, she explains why seeing your goals changes your behavior, why planning a full year before it starts leads to braver decisions, and how doing one hard thing on purpose—a misogi—can permanently shift how you see yourself. This isn't about productivity hacks or color-coded calendars. It's about:– How planning your year differently changes the kind of goals you choose– What a “life resume” really is—and how you build one on purpose– Why one intentional challenge can change your identity– How Taylor uses the Big Ass Calendar to design years she's proud of before they happenTaylor also shares how this way of thinking shaped her path—from admiring people like Sara Blakely from afar to now sitting at her kitchen table regularly—and how high-level thinkers design their lives when no one else is watching. If you've ever felt capable of more…If you've ever set goals that sounded good but didn't change your life…If you want to stop reacting to your year and start designing it—... this conversation will change how you think about time.Seeing your year changes the question from “What do I feel like doing today?” to “Who am I becoming this year?”If you enjoy this video, COMMENT and let us know! And if you have a misogi, we've got to hear it!
Send us a textIn this episode of Corporate Life, Hina Siddiqui is joined by Aditi to discuss the raw reality of leadership and the often-unspoken journey through failure. Aditi shares how a "rollercoaster ride" of starting a business and facing setbacks shaped her into the leader she is today. From the challenges of being a female executive in a male-dominated industry to the deeply personal motivations behind her "legacy" project, Aditi reveals why true success is impossible without first tasting the bitterness of failure.Key TakeawaysThe journey of an entrepreneur is rarely a straight line; it involves navigating countless rejections and "sleepless nights" to build something meaningful.True leadership and resilience are built when you learn how to "dust yourself up" after falling and continue to push forward regardless of societal pressures.Delayed gratification is essential in business; choosing to face challenges today allows for greater freedom and sweet success later.Episode HighlightsAditi reflects on the pivotal moment of starting her own venture and the boldness required to take that initial "coin flip" risk.A deep dive into the "80% of failures" that aren't usually seen by the public but are the foundation of any successful career. The conversation touches on the influence of parents, specifically how a father's legacy and a mother's "progressive" support can shape a woman's drive to succeed.Timestamps00:00 - Introduction to Aditi and the essence of failure 05:30 - The reality of entrepreneurship: Sleepless nights and coffee jars 12:15 - Navigating societal expectations as a woman in business 18:45 - The importance of delaying gratification for long-term goals 25:00 - Final thoughts on legacy and leaving a mark on the worldConnect with GuestAditi Handa: Fortune Group ChairpersonWebsite: www.aditiihanda.comFortuna Group Website: https://forttuna.com/homeInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/aditiihanda/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/aditii-handa/Connect with HinaWEBSITE I https://thehinasiddiqui.com/ LINKEDIN I /hinasiddiqui INSTAGRAM I @hinawithwings YOUTUBE I /@thehinasiddiqui Email I hina@thehinasiddiqui.comCheck out Hina's books: https://amzn.to/3B65Wz7Production Credit: Edited and produced by @the32collective_ / https://www.the32collective.co/

Blog page for this episode: https://missamberrenee.com/the-woman-behind-the-movement/ This episode of Eros Money Power isn't about your brand, your offers, or your strategy. It's about you. The woman behind the movement. The woman at the center of the movement. The one carrying the bigger vision and deeper mission. The one holding the weight, the contradictions, the responsibility, the desire for more. The one feeling the inevitable calling for more. For deeper. The one whose depth, eros, and leadership can't actually be expressed in shallow rooms. Movements don't rise and become recognizable because of clever marketing. They rise because a woman becomes powerful enough to hold her movement...and lets her movement, her power, her eros move her, lead her, guide her. In this episode, we explore what it takes to move from running a business or leading something bigger and deeper than you…to being the woman the movement organizes itself around. And why women like you don't need more information or strategy to scale or deepen your movement...you need rooms that can hold your nervous system, your eros, your power, and your truth. Everything that's at the center and core of your movement. You need rooms that are built for your movement to move through you from within.

A platinum beauty with an ugly secret; a tall, dark, and handsome husband with murder in his eyes; starkly lit interiors that may or may not include the silhouette of a rotund British gentleman…. This may sound like a catalog of images from the films of Alfred Hitchcock, but it is just as much an encapsulation of the works of Joan Harrison, a studio-era producer, a prolific cinematic storyteller, and a pioneer of female-centered suspense media at mid-century. Harrison remains best known as Alfred Hitchcock's right-hand woman—that is, to the extent that she is known at all. Christina Lane has written the first-ever book dedicated to the life and art of Joan Harrison, entitled Phantom Lady: Hollywood Producer Joan Harrison, The Forgotten Woman Behind Hitchcock (Chicago Review Press, February 2020). Born into a middle-class family in Surrey, Harrison took a secretarial job with Alfred Hitchcock as an aimless twenty-something, only to become a producer on films including Foreign Correspondent (1940), Rebecca (1940), and Suspicion (1941). In the 1940s, Harrison branched out, building a solo career producing movies for RKO and Universal Studios, only to return to the Hitchcock fold to run TV's Alfred Hitchcock Presents (1955-1962). In this discussion, Lane shares how she uncovered this obscure history, placing this “phantom lady” at the center of her own story. She also discusses the trajectory of Harrison's career and how she adapted her research for a broader readership. This week, Caroline sits down with the incredible Hilaria Baldwin — a woman who has mastered the art of doing it all. From raising seven children to building her own identity in the public eye, Hilaria opens up about the beauty and the madness of balancing family, career, and self. They talk about leaning into what people want, staying true to yourself when the world is watching, and how many women lose their identity when they get married — especially when they step into someone else's spotlight.Hilaria shares how she's learned to keep her sense of self, even while managing a family, filming projects, and holding it all together with grace, humor, and resilience. It's raw, inspiring, and a reminder that women don't have to choose — they can be mothers, partners, and powerhouses all at once.Thank you for listening!!
Melanie Perkins is CEO and co-founder of Canva, currently valued at over $42 billion, generating over $3 billion in annual revenue, with more than 240 million monthly active users and, incredibly, eight consecutive years of profitability. But the journey was far from smooth. Melanie was rejected by over 100 investors during her first fundraising round, her team spent two years without being able to ship a new feature during a technical rewrite, and the company pivoted early from a yearbook publishing platform to become the design powerhouse it is today. Through it all, she maintained what she calls “column B” thinking: building toward a dream future rather than just using the bricks around you.We discuss:1. How “column B” thinking helped Melanie build Canva, by starting with an impossible vision rather than existing constraints2. The power of setting “crazy big goals”3. How Canva survived a painful two-year period without shipping any new features while rewriting their codebase4. How Melanie pushed through 100 investor rejections, and how she used each rejection to strengthen her pitch5. “Everyone wants the shortcut to six figures, but nobody tells you the detour goes straight through the flames.”“Turns out, avoiding the fire doesn't save your business — it kills it. Walking through it? That's where the magic (and the money) are.”In this episode, I spotlight a woman that has been so integral to my success and the growth I have had in my business, personal life and money mindset - Adelina Vaughan. Adelina has been on three other episodes and is someone I work very closely with as a somatic wealth mentor, medicine woman, feminine business midwife and is the secret behind many successful online female entrepreneurs. Sadly, Adelina was recently diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer and is currently going through chemotherapy and has had to have fertility treatment to save embryos so she can have another baby in the future. As the sole income provider for her family of three, we are encouraging anyone that feels the pull to learn more from Adelina to invest in any of her courses in the link below so we can continue to support her in this journey and so you can continue to get value from her magic and wisdom, too. See Adelina's offerings here: https://www.adelinavaughn.co/offer-list Episode Overview: Why your business will expose every part of your life that's out of alignmentHow to stop making “meaning” out of every setback and actually make moneyWhy the fire you're avoiding is the exact fire that will grow your empireWhy 90% of business is energy (and the other 10% is just systems and sass)How to let go, let in, and lead with love (without feeling like a Hallmark card)It's raw. It's real. It's for every woman who's sick of forcing her business into someone else's masculine framework and is ready to build wealth with her own feminine magic. If you're ready to stop muscling your way to burnout and start leading with feminine fire — hit play.Episode Highlights:00:00 - Introduction01:36 – Introducing Adelina: medicine woman, trauma healer, feminine biz midwife07:05 – Why you don't need it all figured out to lead09:56 – Why trying to avoid the fire will kill your business faster than the fire itself12:32 – How trauma healing accidentally turned Adelina into a business mentor17:20 – Structure + strategy = the container for your freedom20:24 – “Let go to let in” — Adelina's new mantra for wealth + life27:02 – Why it's okay to fall apart (and still build six figures)41:07 – Identity shifts: why new income levels require a new you52:11 – How childhood labels still shape your business today57:59 – Success = peace, spaciousness, integrity, and love
Send us a textYou've been listening to my podcast, hearing my voice, learning from my frameworks - but do you actually know who I am?Recently, I was running an event with local entrepreneurs, and someone mentioned they'd heard about the Diamond Effect Podcast. It hit me: my podcast is being talked about in rooms I'm not in, which means more of you are listening... but you might not really know Maggie.I'm naturally introverted. I love to teach and share value, but I don't often talk about myself. So today, I'm changing that. This is a more relaxed, fun episode where I'm sharing 10 fun facts about me and 10 core beliefs and values that drive everything I do - personally and in my business. What you'll discover in this episode:10 Fun Facts - From the three languages I speak (with accents in all of them!) to my secret love of basketball, why I can seem intimidating at first, and the special significance of the number 23.10 Core Beliefs and Values - The principles that guide everything I do, from respect and kindness to leadership, unlimited potential, love, and giving back. These aren't just nice ideas - they're the foundation of how I coach and how I live.My Journey to Coaching - How I went from 13+ years in corporate leadership (sales, operations, service excellence, people leadership, and more) to burning out, leaving it all behind, and building a business helping service-based entrepreneurs scale sustainably. Why This Episode Matters:If you've been listening to the podcast but don't really know the woman behind the microphone, this episode is for you. Understanding my values and beliefs will help you understand why I coach the way I do - and whether we're the right fit to work together. This is probably the most vulnerable episode I've ever recorded. I don't usually talk about myself like this. But I think it's time you got to know me beyond the business frameworks and strategies. Why Episode 223?The number 23 has special significance for me (you'll have to listen to find out why!), so this felt like the perfect episode to finally introduce myself properly.I hope you enjoy this more personal side of the podcast. On this day in Tudor history, 17 October 1592, Frances Brooke, Lady Cobham died and was buried at Cobham in Kent. You may already know her face: she appears in the famous Cobham Family Portrait of 1567, that beautiful Elizabethan painting capturing an entire household, from Frances and her husband to six of their children. I'm historian and author Claire Ridgway, and in today's episode I'll introduce you to the woman behind the portrait: a loyal attendant who moved through the very heart of Elizabeth I's court. Frances served as Mistress of the Robes and Lady of the Bedchamber, rose high, briefly fell after her husband's involvement in the Ridolfi Plot, and was later restored to favour. Her story is one of quiet endurance, family alliances, and a life spent in the Queen's shadow, from Cobham Hall to the privy chamber itself. Like, subscribe, and ring the bell for more daily Tudor history, and tell me in the comments: Do you love the Cobham Family Portrait as much as I do? When it comes to recognizable icons, few rival Nike's Swoosh, designed by student designer Carolyn Davidson for $35. We unpack her quiet career, late recognition, and lasting influence with guest Sarah Williams, Co-CEO of Beardwood & Co. and President of AIGA NY._______Support this podcast with a small donation: Buy Me A CoffeeThis show is powered by branding and design studio Nice PeopleJoin this podcast and the Patreon community: patreon.com/womendesignersyoushouldknowHave a 1:1 mentor call with Amber Asay: intro.co/amberasay_______About Carolyn Davidson:We're pulling back the curtain on one of design's most enduring marks: the Nike Swoosh. In 1971, Portland State University student Carolyn Davidson sketched a fluid, wing-like “stripe” directly over a shoe drawing—a fast, simple symbol that Phil Knight didn't love at first but chose under production pressure. She invoiced $35, kept freelancing for the scrappy company as it rebranded from Blue Ribbon Sports to Nike, and later stepped away from the spotlight. Years afterward, Nike surprised her with a gold Swoosh ring and stock—an act of overdue recognition that grew to life-changing value. We trace Davidson's process, her broader early contributions beyond the logo, and how the Swoosh eventually stood alone without the wordmark. About Sarah Williams:Sarah Williams is Co-CEO of Beardwood & Co. and President of AIGA New York. "I want to honor my wife and her being the 'woman behind the man behind the wheel,' which is a high calling. Our first date ... was the day I bought that 1997 W9, so she didn't know what she was getting into." --August Trucker of the Month Jason Shelly Jason Shelly starts this Part 2 of a series of Overdrive Radio episodes featuring the owner-operator with a tribute to Renita Shelly, who's been Shelly's "biggest fan," as she once told him, since the very start of his business. The truck he invokes in the quote up top and in the podcast is the very first one he purchased, when he was a company driver for Horseless Carriage Carriers in the 1990s and thinking he'd be able to lease on with the car hauler. The fact that he didn't, though, as he told in Part 1, set him off on a journey to a long-term customer and a business that has benefited from all manner of family support, including Renita's, through the years. He's striven to pay it forward in all sorts of ways, and does so here of a fashion with his emphasis on that support, key to many a truck owner-operator's success. His longtime owner-operator father, also pictured in the cover assemblage for this episode, is intimately involved in the accounting/bookkeeping and other aspects of Shelly's one-truck business, including recent work reburshing the 2017 53-foot Great Dane reefer trailer also pictured. But it's Renita he emphasizes most for all manner of sometimes intangible impacts that have nonetheless been a lynchpin of his long-term success. "It's not an easy life, schedule-wise, and just the ups and downs. And at a certain point, she knew I wasn't going to be home until she saw the whites in my eyes, because anything can happen between here and there," he said. And when it did, "she's just been so patient, so understanding." Going into the "second half of my career," he said, he's making a conscious effort to be more accommodating, too, remedy for all those times that "something or other happens at home and I'm 400 or 700 miles down the road and headed the wrong direction," which the "woman behind the man behind the wheel" bears on her own. Shelly referenced the old trucking song there. (We had a podcast episode put together by Max Heine about that one back several years ago here: https://www.overdriveonline.com/15065078 ) So for this episode, a tribute, but also plenty more in the way of Shelly's advice for the next generation of owner-operators trucking. Jason and Renita Shelly are certainly making it work for their family, and diversifying investments as time goes on that ought to set them up long-term financially. Not that Jason's got a particular eye on retirement, which we'll also hear more about in today's episode. As he says, "I don't look to retire, exactly. I may slow down. But biblically, there's no verse that I've ever found in the Bible that says you retire at this age" or that age. Rather, "it says to finish strong." This is the story of a small Carpatho-Rusyn woman, who became know as Andy Warhol's mother. Ulia Zavacka ( pronounced Zavatski), was one of a very large farming family whose homeland today is in the North Eastern Slovakia. Today the general Rusyn population stretches across what is five European countries, including Ukraine, Slovakia, Romania, Hungary and Poland. Officials say that at the turn of the 20th century, approximately 250,000 Ruthenians, as they were known to US Immigration officials, emigrated to America where they worked in coal mines and steel mills of the northeast. Many settled in the Pittsburg. PA area. Rusyns spoke east slavic dialects that used the Cyrillic alphabet. Elaine and I spoke a lot about the similarities of both women. Julia followed her husband to America eventually having three sons and not speaking much English. Nancy, Elaine's mother, had a huge advantage and was born in the United States and spoke two languages at a young age. Both women had Carpatho-Rusyn backgrounds. It was a tough time to raise a family especially in the Pittsburgh area yet Andy's father was a good business man and was able to put some money away for Andy to go to college. Elaine shares stories of her mother moving to New York City at age of thirteen in order to help her family financially as a housekeeper/nanny/servant, as you'll hear Elaine tell the story. By moving to NYC, Nancy met her future husband who has a similar background as she. Keep in mind, that making money to help the family put food on the table was way more important than any kind of education. Nancy eventually married a coal miner from Pennsylvania and fellow Rusyn which was comforting to her. Both of these families had lingering effects of being immigrants and children of immigrants. Of parents parenting similarly as to how they had been parented. They had a lot to overcome and it can take decades if not generations to assimilate.Elaine's academic studies where shocking to her parents. They couldn't really understand why she continued with higher education because that was very foreign to both of them. And course, Andy went to what's now known as Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and completed a Bachelor of Fine Art Degree in 1949.Julia was an artist of her own right. She was very creative especially when she was younger and in her home country.
