Taking on this working-class story of heart and hardship, award-winning writer Brian Reisinger weaves forgotten eras of American history with his own family's four-generation fight for survival in Midwestern farm country. Readers learn the truth about America's most detrimental and unexplained socioeconomic crisis: How the family farms that feed us went from cutting a middle-class path through the Great Depression to barely making ends meet in modern America. Along the way, they'll see what it truly takes to feed our country: accidents that can kill or maim; weather that blesses or threatens; resilience in the face of crushing economic crises, from depressions and recessions to COVID-19; and the tradition that presses down on each generation when you're not just fighting for your job, you're fighting for your heritage.

Play Episode Listen Later Aug 12, 2024 39:56

This week Rodney sits down with author Gretchen Wollert the author of The Magic and Mayhem of Donald Trump. In today's deeply divisive political environment, the constant media storm pits Democrats against Republicans and liberals against conservatives, and drives narratives that describe Donald Trump as the worst president in American history who should be incarcerated forever for high crimes against society. But another segment of America believes Trump is the savior of the nation and worthy of sainthood. What is the truth? Is there an acceptable reality somewhere within these two extremes? Can we know what actually guides Trump's larger than life political persona? What really makes him tick? Is he worthy of the support of an American people desperately seeking the best for a nation in turmoil? The Magic and Mayhem of Donald Trump lays out with uncommon clarity the reality of the Trump enigma. Known for his supreme self-confidence, inexhaustible ambition, braggadocio, arrogance, vanity, and knack for thriving amid conflict, Trump, who fights opponents with a fierce intensity that is often cruel and harsh, also possesses a firm but realistic sense of right and wrong influenced by a simple faith and bears a serious connection to everyday common people that springs from his past. You will confidently discover, amidst the magic and the mayhem, the real man behind the myth. And in the process, you just might acquire a renewed or even novel appreciation for this American original.

Rodney sits down with repeat guest Mel K to discuss her amazing book Americans Anonymous. Join the growing movement of ordinary citizens doing extraordinary things to restore power to the people, one empowered individual at a time.Over the last several decades, Americans have become increasingly aware that the people of this nation no longer determine its destiny, despite the intentions our founding fathers made clear in our founding documents. The two-party system has become a weapon used by those in power to maintain the dysfunctional status quo in Washington and on Wall Street. This system has revealed itself to be steeped in corruption, covert agendas, and a fast-evolving surveillance state. As overwhelming as it may seem at times, we are not helpless—in fact, there is a lot of hope. People all over this nation, across all boundaries and divisions, are awakening with a sense of duty and purpose to become active participants rather than sideline players in determining the future of this country. This requires a reframing and a reimagining of our relationship with our government, our fellow citizens, and ourselves. The key to reclaiming our republic lies not in any politician or party, but in the untapped potential of patriotic individuals like you. Americans Anonymous is your guidebook for igniting a peaceful revolution of personal responsibility, civic engagement, and local action on a national scale.

    We The People: Hung Cao

This week Rodney sits down with Senate Candidate and author Hung Cao. Deeply relatable and unapologetically honest, Captain Hung Cao shares hard-fought lessons as a war refugee, combat veteran, and political candidate to remind readers that the fight to preserve our Republic begins with the same uniquely American values that are under attack today. From failure to humility, from faith to victory, Call Me an American is an anthem to the imperfectly exceptional country that provided him refuge from the destruction of communism. From his childhood growing up in sub-Saharan Africa to his years fighting to preserve life as a Naval Officer in Special Operations, Captain Cao refutes the insidious narrative that the American dream is no longer accessible or achievable. Instead, he uses his gift of storytelling to expose the lies threatening meritocracy, equality, and individual liberty. Hung Cao came to the US in 1975 after escaping Vietnam days before the fall of Saigon. He and his family moved to West Africa, where he spent most of his youth, before he returned to the States at the age of twelve to pursue an American education, later earning acceptance to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. He went on to graduate from the Naval Academy with a Bachelor of Science in Ocean Engineering. He has received his master's degree in Applied Physics from the Naval Postgraduate School and fellowships at MIT and Harvard. A Bronze Star recipient, Deep Sea Diver, and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Officer, Hung conducted high-profile salvage operations including the recovery of John F. Kennedy Jr., the Civil War Ironclad USS Monitor, and servicemembers killed during military operations. Hung retired after twenty-five years of service to his beloved adopted country and is currently a Vice President at a Fortune 500 company. Hung became the GOP nominee for Virginia's tenth congressional district in May 2022 after sweeping a crowded eleven-way primary. He is the proud father of five children and has been married to his wife, April, for over twenty-five years.

This week Rodney sits down with author Jennifer Strickland, who has a new book coming out title, "I Am A Woman: Taking Back Our Name." It's time for women to reclaim what makes them uniquely female and affirm God's breathtaking design for womanhood. “Wake up!” cries Jennifer Strickland in this bracing call to women. With womanhood itself under a withering cultural attack, this is no time for Christians to stand teary-eyed on the sidelines. Men are invading women's sports and even bathrooms, while schools indoctrinate children in lies about gender fluidity. The assault of insanity on reality took normal women by surprise, but we can't waste another minute in fighting back. Our culture needs an answer to the lies that are crippling young women. We cannot abdicate our responsibility to the next generation. It is up to women who fear God to restore the true meaning of our name. In I Am a Woman, Strickland calls us to uphold the dignity of womanhood with clarity and compassion. She urges readers to cherish the power imbedded in the name “Woman”—because women are not undefinable. Women must reclaim their name and reject any agenda that diminishes the dignity of sex and gender for future generations—before it's too late.

Rodney sits down with Julie Behling author of Beneath Sheep's Clothing: The Communist Takeover of Culture in the USSR & Parallels in Today's America. Today in America, we are living in a time of war. Our country has been invaded by Communist forces that are training 49.4 million American public school children to become Marxist revolutionaries. Our churches are infiltrated by wolves in sheep's clothing. And the bedrock ideologies upon which America was founded have been weakened to the point that they will die off with the older generations. This is not fiction. This is a wake-up call to the American people – to everyone with children in schools, to Christians, and to anyone who cares about freedom. The Soviet regime notoriously brainwashed its populace through its government-run schools and the media. It was ruthless in its treatment of Christians who didn't comply. And it infiltrated its churches with KGB agents cloaked as clergy. Over a century ago, the communist playbook began to be utilized on American soil. It appears to be close to reaching a pinnacle, after which there will be nothing to be done. America will fall to totalitarian rule. But not if we do something about it. Now is not a time for complacency. It's not a time to mind our own business or fear rocking the boat. Unless we are OK with the destruction of our free nation, the time is NOW to intimately understand the playbook of the enemy so we can foil the ravenous communist machine that has taken hold of our children, our churches, and our society!

This week Rodney sits down with the authors of Revelation 911: How the Book of Revelation Intersects with Today's Headlines, Paul Begley and Troy Anderson. Look at the daily news and you'll see stories about plague, famine, unexplained deaths, artificial intelligence, looming nuclear war, inflation, transhumanism, wokeness, cancel culture, gender identity crises, and mass shootings. Is this the end of the world? Or are these just precursors to the end of the world? To answer that question, biblical prophecy expert Paul Begley and former investigative journalist Troy Anderson team up to compare today's headlines with the events foretold in the book of Revelation. Their findings? Not only are signs of the end times accelerating dramatically, but a catastrophic economic collapse and global conflagration could be the next major events on the prophetic timeline before the rise of the Antichrist, the emergence of the False Prophet, and the installation of the “mark of the beast” economic system. They also explore evidence linking the popular transhumanist movement, artificial intelligence, and top-secret government and military programs with prophecies of the last days.
